I guess they all appreciate the work he puts into the game and how he worked out the goal....Our Jesus dey walk on water and he dey carry him disciples along Bro, who no go appreciate am. That goal was definitely out of nothing mehnnn!!, How he carved out that chance for Martinelli from an original seemingly harmless ball needs to be studied in college abegg What I appreciate more for that goal was his selflessness. Some player after making that run and dribble would want to take a shot at goal so that all glory will be for him instead of giving a better positioned Martinelli Truly this Our Jesus dey really carry him disciples along |

But fans are too impatient and ever ready to roast them coaches...I laughed when I read Chelsea fans attacking Tuchel when things wasn't going fine with him...A coach who jus won them UCL o. For me, if I see players not putting the required effort and possessing little talent/ability on the ball, I'll put 70% blame on the player . Yeah, e no dey easy sha. Fans are very impatient but then that's one of the reasons most of these coaches gets huge pay.. BlueRayDick: Even though I was not much of good Ebening's fan when he was our head coach, after this ALL OR NOTHING, I now understand sometimes the coaches do everything right, talk to the players, motivate them and all and then the match won't still go in their favor. I kinda feel maybe we fans were too hard on good ebening too....just the way we were hard on Arteta and blamed him for bottling the Top 4 last season.
Maybe good ebening was just taking the fall for the players back then sef and we no know.
This documentary really open our eyes to some possibilities that we never considered as fans running with emotions I see Ebening sef as a coach in the wrong environment. Most of the players complained they weren't hearing nor understanding what he's saying. There's an article I once read where Saka always meet Ljumberg to explain all what Ebening normally say. But then coaches sef dey normally receive the heat. It's them that's the first point of call if anything goes wrong in the team. When you watch the series, you'll even see Arteta acknowledging how he's the one facing the consequences and shielding the boys (he's said so like 2-3 times at least). And as for the bolded, I agree with you 100%. I just hope you start and complete it, I go really love to hear your full views and thoughts on it |

mikuz: My bad, it's an oversight. That's not what I actually meant.
I'm predicting that Man City will win this league again convincly not because of past glory but with what is obtainable now. I made reference to their past achievement in the league to drive home the postulation that being good at beating minnows is the key for a successful campaign. You seldom see them struggling to beat underdogs and whenever they meet it's always from 4 goals up. They hardly lose to teams they are technically better than.
We can't go toe to toe with Man City this season. It's a bitter pill to swallow for Liverpool fans but it's the truth. We don't have a creative midfielder, Thiago is injured, any decent team will stroll over our midfield as it stands, our new strike partnership needs time to gel whilst City are parading the best striker in the world arguably and ultimately the best creative midfielder in the league. They have world class in every department. With all these in mind, plus other injuries, someone is telling me that we will win the league this season because I'm a Liverpool fan. No be me una go give HIGH BP. Well, since you've admitted that it was a mistake/oversight then I think we have an understanding then. My reason for quoting you initially was because you said that it'll be an overachievement that Liverpool will make top 4. Let's just wait as the season unfolds and hopefully the injury crisis subsides. This kind of things, time makes such a thing clearer |

Arteta's voice was emotion laden, he was almost cry-talking....the number of times he used the F-word sef, u could sense the let-down in his voice. Lol, that F-word is just normal Arteta slangs sef. Whether he's angry, happy, motivating and giving insights, he must just chip in that F-word. But mehn, truth be told, that tottenham game weak am. My guy wan cry. daveP: I sometimes feel this is why he majorly had issues with the top 3 oldest players in the squad. He came with a Mentality that they must bend and be rigid. It can't work. Funny enough, they know you want to win, and can prove their loyalty to you differently from the rigid approach that the youngsters don't have a problem with. Like, these guys weren't finished yet now.
Las las, he's the coach, but this fact remains that you can't teach an old dog new tricks. We are seeing some of this issue with cr7 at man u. It's earning him insults. His own is even worse than the Emirates trio.
I expected he will be very harsh after some defeats, but he was rather motivating. But I also knew they're just showing us what they want us to see. The cameras and CCTV is making them more disciplined and professional. It is paying off.
I haven't seen one episode where he has an issue or discussion with Odegaard. I don't get that though. I don't see anything the coaches did wrong sha in showing Laca Benzema movt and positioning to learn from him. What I meant was that Laca was too involved in buildup neglecting that he'll need to be in the box to strike. Why I'm even saying the "old dog new tricks stuff" Is because that's what Laca have been doing for the greater part of his career and it'll be difficult to just change it suddenly You know, I was thinking someone will say that bolded and I didn't wait for long Can one control one's emotions when temperaments is running high and one needs to talk his mind in heat of the moment? Will you be thinking of motivation when you're under pressure (something that's you're not accustomed to) and really angry just because of camera? Omo, I don't know how that works oo Tbh.. Well, I don't think he really had any issues with Odegaard sha. In fact, they'll have been in very good terms for him to be handed the captaincy armband before the end of the season |

mikuz: No offense taken but I didn't say that making top four is over achievement. My expectations this season is top four finish in the league. A decent title challenge by us will be seen as a bonus. Don't misquote me bros.
I'm not your everyday football fan, I don't speak with sentiments about the club because I'm a fan. Not me. I don't built hope on past glory but present circumstances.
Go and check if there was anytime last season I ruled is out of the league? The big question is, what changed? Lol, this is your very own quote. There's a big reason I'm even having this conversation with you and that's because I was actually surprised a Liverpool fan will say this mikuz: A top four finish will be seen as over achievement As for the 2nd bolded, past in context matters. There's a reason you agree that Man city are title contenders and have already won the league even though we're in a new season. It's surprising how you see positive in Man city past to guage their present yet discard same past and say Liverpool getting top 4 would be an overachievement |

mikuz: Every single point is very material. So it's only Man City that is allowed to drop points in the course of the season? Liverpool won't drop points along the way while trying to close the 4 points? So Liverpool will play unbeaten but Man City won't. Lol, you know this isn't what I meant. Man city dropped point against Crystal palace and Southampton last season. It might not be crystal palace or Southampton this season but they'll definitely drop point same way you guys will drop point too. The way you're talking, someone will think Man city won't drop point at all |

Its as if we always want to take our anger out on him just cos we know he was inexperienced when the club signed him in place of some of our favorites for the job. At least the documentary has opened our eyes to some of the things that go on behind the scenes we weren't privy to before now Lol.. I remember those times sha wey e be like say you dey defend Arteta. daveP: All or nothing episode 8 out now.
So far, I've been able to see who the defeats aftects the most and those that the Manager's ginger impacts the most.
Ramsdale hates the defeats and conceding. Like he puts loads of blame on himself
Martinelli is the one that Arteta's ginger affects the most. His performance vs Liverpool says it all
As for the midfield, nothing much really.
I see he really rates Ben White well.
I recall the lil argument between Saka and Xhaka after one loss. Saka complained about the ball mot reaching them, while Xhaka complained about the attack being so bland.
A lot has changed.
The development coach was encouraging Laca to be more involved in the box than the build up and it showed that he couldn't fill Auba's shoes, especially with the style he's used too, and as Ozil kind of player no dey again. It revealed that it wasn't simply Arteta's instructions las las, but a necessity he wanted to fill cos of Arteta's rule of helping each other. That lil argument between Saka and Xhaka was against Everton first leg. What's surprising me was that Arteta was insisting we attack, Saka was insisting on attack and pushing the ball forward, Xhaka was also saying same thing yet the 2nd half we still park the bus... Na wa ooo And as for the Laca issue, it's good the coaches noticed how Laca was not getting into scoring positions and was trying to help him. But then, he's 30yrs so it's difficult to teach old dog a new trick I guess |

mikuz: Points matter anywhere in the league. Imagine if Man City drew against Norwich in their second game last season, Liverpool could have won the league. Nobody says points doesn't matter but the issue is that unlike cup competitions, league points can always be regained. Arsenal was aiming for top4 last season but we lost our first 3 matches scoring zero goals and was 20th while tottenham had 9 points. Everyone thought it was doom and gloom but come March/April we were already topping tottenham with 4-6 points with top 4 in our hands. While unfortunately we lost out on top 4 but nobody was saying it was solely because of the first 3 matches that caused it, instead it was our poor run In April/May that actually gave tottenham the top 4. Except you're telling me Man city will go unbeaten this season without losing or drawing a match, if not 4point no be big gap |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Liverpool FC Fan Zone: 20 Times Champions of England! by Jodera: 12:21am On Aug 19, 2022 |
mikuz: Man City last season after the first 3 games: Lost 1 0 to Tottenham Beat Norwich 5 0 Beat Arsenal 5 0
How did they open last season with 2 losses after 3 games? After 3 matches they were on 6 points with 9 goals difference.
Even if we beat Man Utd 8 0 will still won't equal their feat after 3 games.
See as Jo.dera's empty hopes dey make you lie anyhow. Keep it up, I'll be here during the gnashing of teeth by season end. Lol, someone can't make mistake again? I actually saw that but I understood the message he was trying to pass and I didn't see that as a big issue. I didn't even know you'll even pounce on it sef But to be honest, you don't really sound like a Liverpool fan. No disrespect to you or I don't mean to sound offensive, but it's rare seeing a fan of a club always all thinking gloom and doom about his favourite club. It might be understandable if Liverpool are in trenches during the past 5 years but no, it isn't. How you're expecting doom and gloom and thinking Liverpool will overachieve in making top 4 is what is beyond me. If na rival fan say this sef, we'll see it as trolling how much more a Fan of the club It's funny sha |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Liverpool FC Fan Zone: 20 Times Champions of England! by Jodera: 12:09am On Aug 19, 2022 |
mikuz: You are being unrealistic. What I'm telling you right now is whats obtainable. I am not setting high standard for this team this season, I'm will be satisfied if we finish top four anything beyond that is a bonus. The only time I'll be disappointed is when we finish outside top four. Raising the bar above that is living by faith and building castles the air. That's my expectations this season for me, you can continue giving other Liverpool fans empty hope but tell them say you no see me.
We had a better attack & defence last season compared to what we have now and Man City is better this season in contrast to last season but you think we will beat them to the league.
I'm not being pessimistic, I'm facing reality while you are dreaming but you will never accept it. I told you our team last season is stronger than this current team yet we didn't win the league. How you expect us to win it a weaker team that is bedeviled with injuries is beyond me. I'm just being logical. I'm not even saying you should raise expectations or not, I mean you have that right. But my point is that drawing 2 games doesn't automatically mean that Liverpool will do bad this season because It's too early to judge. Reason because league is a sprint not a marathon. You can place the bar low and aim for top 4 sha, it's no issue,(I mean you said top 4 will be an overachievement ) . Other fans who believe in the team and Klopp will believe that once most of the players are fit, Liverpool will come back roaring again. Like Open.mine said, you're entitled to your opinion and I fully agree with him fully. |
