Mike Dean on Kane's goal: "I asked Referee Anthony Taylor to wait while I looked at the incident involving Romero and Cucurella. I couldn't award a free-kick as VAR, but I could recommend to Taylor that he visit the referee review area to consider a possible red card."

"In the few seconds I had to study Romero pulling Cucurella’s hair, I didn't deem it a violent act. I’ve since studied the footage, spoken to other referees and, upon reflection, I should have asked Taylor to visit his pitch-side monitor to take a look for himself."

"The referee on field always has the final say. It goes to show that no matter how experienced you are, and I’ve spent more than two decades as a Premier League official, you are always learning."

{Mail+}
@MorataFC, you see wetin I dey tell you that day?
It's the fault of Var for not suggesting to Taylor to look at the pitchside monitor instead of deeming it not to be violent

All our goals have been created from his end..
I don't think Ten Haag favours AWB so Dalot starts just because of no other option. Moreover, if Midfield is strong all the barrages of attack he'll be receiving will be drastically reduced

Agenda go always agend grin

If you break those big chances down sef, Jorginho go get some chunk from inside. But na Jorginho be our problem.
I tell you but we're not ready for that conversation yet.
A team that converts chances will cover the blushes of that Jorginho's blunder on Sunday but see how people were finishing Jorginho after matchday just because the attack refused to convert goals that was created.

I once said something here ending of last month: Chelsea fans can keep on blaming Jorginho or 3 at the back formation or anything, but if they don't improve their attack, the rest of the league will be very happy

Some will blame 3 at the back formation

I don paste screenshot for am directly from EPL website. Make him argue with the stats there.

Man City is the only team that created more big chances than us last season, yet Liverpool gathered more points than us. The problem? Conversion rate. Salah, Mane, Jota and co converts their chances while Lukau, Werner, Havertz and co fumble ours. That's just the difference.

If Auba comes, I believe our conversion rate will increase.

I no carry Auba matter for head as per say na him be the best striker around, No. But for the short term (a season or two) he can provide us those goals to compete in the highest level till we source a long term replacement for Lukaku and Werner that left. I no know whether na Havertz and Broja a big club Like Chelsea go use fight in four different competitions?
I just see the pix now and Omo, I'm surprised. I never expected Chelsea to be 2nd sha. I know they create chances well but I never thought it'll be more than Liverpool and even arsenal.

When I knew this "Chelsea does not create chances" was a big myth was last season against Burnley. I know how many correct chances Chelsea created yet they ended up drawing the game. The next week again, Chelsea played another Club (forgotten the name) and still missed chances and yet drew that game. After the game, instead of fans to blame the attack, I'm seeing Jorginho here and there. Then during the week I was still hearing "Chelsea doesn't create chances". Na there I know say most fans here just wan join the popular agenda and nothing more.

It was main reason I was somehow surprised this weekend when people were blaming Jorginho when it was the attack that was culpable for that draw even though Jorginho played one of the best game in Chelsea shirt. Then during the week, it went back to the same myth— Chelsea does not create chances.

Thanks for this eye-opening screenshot, I just hope say that myth agenda just die grin

Guyman the only thing i can say to U is i wish you were an LFC fan no cap!
Infact you even hype and believe LFC pass some fans way dey masquerade themselves as fans only when the club dey win thats if they are actually LFC fans because i seriously have my doubts!
True fans stand by their club, players and manager even when they are down.....In LFC case we are yet to lose ohh!
At times, some folks are poor students of soccer history forgetting that the EPL is a marathon and not a sprint!
Mancity opened last season with 2 losses after 3 games and yet they won the league last season
Chelsea were top of the table last season from the start for 8-9 weeks until they crumbled like pack of cards by January and only managed to hang on to the 3rd spot solely due to the inconsistencies of the teams below them....
Any LFC fan may have their opinion about the current performance of the team but i do know one thing.....Liverpool will definitely bounce back this season......#YNWA
Exactly, most people forget that the league is a Marathon not a sprint. Good example you gave is Chelsea— strong title contenders by December only to start praying not to fall away from top 4 by march. Season long and 4 points is nothing especially at this stage of the season. A lose and a draw will just easily cover up everything.

Me I certainly believe Klopp and Liverpool will always bounce back. The day I trust Klopp's Liverpool was against Barca 4-0. A team without hot Salah and in-form Firmino won Barca from 3 nil down. Not only that but Robertson had injury in first half. Meaning na almost 2nd team play Barca in semi final yet still won Barca with full squad. Anybody (esp Liverpool fans) wey no believe Klopp ehh, na OYO oo.

Lol, but sha, I no be football fan first and I try to be always logical with things. It doesn't matter whether it's arsenal or Liverpool or Man u or Chelsea grin cool

So our own is to be challenging Man City every season, playing second fiddle everyday and not actually winning the league? Our own is to "compete" by season end they will award Man City the league and give us competing trophy.

A club that finished 2nd is in the same level with one that placed 4th position, no difference unless you want to tell me that there is a trophy for 2nd position grin

Which 13 points? After the first 2 games last season Liverpool were topping Man City with 3 points, Man City caught up and overtook them with 13 points! So talk another thing cos this your excuse no fly.

Don't get me started with injuries, the same injuries our in house analyst claimed was the reason we lost to Man Utd in pre season? grin

It's not about trusting Klopp but about being realistic. You can't compare a front 3 that broke a record last season to what we have now. Let's tell ourselves the truth. You mean you see Nunez and Diaz scoring more than 10 league goals each?
Top teams challenge each other every season. The same way You challenged Man city is also same way Man city challenged you. Las las, one person must be a winner. Unfortunately, Man city won with the fight to the very end. Any slack and you guys would have been champions. Also, my point is simple, I'm not glorifying 2nd, I'm just telling you that you guys have what it takes to become champions barring any lengthy injuries to core players and depth.

Lol, this bolded is funny. So after all these explanations you explained and shalaye you gave, you still fell back to the place where I said Man city topped you guys with 13points and you guys still recovered it. Worst still is that, this happened during the middle of the season, yet you're sulking about 4 points after matchday 2.

I don't know the reason why you're pessimistic sha and you've not given any valid points. If to say na any other England club, I for agree but not Liverpool na.
Maybe you're one of those who think that the sale of Mane is affecting Liverpool. Right? cool

And yes I believe a front three of Nunez, Salah and Diaz with Jota and Firmino coming in could fire you guys up. The only thing that's affecting you guys is injuries for now not even quality.
Imagine I named five attackers yet only 2 is available for selection. Reason am na

Arteta is cooking but am afraid of his inexperience because his inept showed last season by bottling Top4 to Conte.

Players added are quite long especially Jesus because it strengthen the attack massively but still needs addition... On the other hand Zichenko is a real bargain, his technicality would help Arteta more in tweaking his tactics, I noticed against Palace he keeps manning both LB and Midfield which made him gas out quickly and it's exploited fully by Eze with his dribble.

All in all, those two players really boosted our attacking prowess.

Saliba, quite okay but I don't want to rush in passing verdict on him cause his true test is on Oct, though so far so good he's good and can be our next modern Tony Adams (I wasn't opportune to watch him but comments by people shows he's great.TD)

I won't mind we sign one more good winger that can play both wings and a DM that will deputies Partey in case injury or suspension arises.

Possible aspiration: I'm tipping Arteta for Top4 and a trophy.
Nice inputs. Thanks a lot

Hopefully, we get one or two more signings(Pepe might be going for loan, so another winger hopefully) and finish the season strongly.

I just pray we win Europa and top 4.

At this point, United is no longer a club where you bring in players one by one, else the environment will corrupt them.

We need back to back to back to back signings. If they can’t sign more, call up the academy boys.
Lol... I don't think it have reached that extent.
United just need 3 core players that can effectively play how Ten Haag wants: Two in Midfield and one in attack.

De. Gea
Dalot. Varane. Lindelof/Bailly .Malacia

New signing,. New signing

Eriksen/ Bruno

New signing. Cr7. Sancho/Rashford

A team like this at least would be able to garner much needed points especially against the small teams

After 2 matches last season we won 2 in 2 scoring 5 and conceding none with our front 3 scoring more than 10 goals each which is a record in that league season as a whole and we still did not win the league. This season we are struggling against low table teams scoring 3 and conceding 3. If you think this team will outperform Man City or their last league performance then you are dreaming.
Lol, I didn't say you guys would outperform Man city. I actually said you guys can still compete with Man city (meaning you will give them a run for their money).

I remember last season, man city topped you guys with up to 13 points around December if I'm not mistaken, yet Liverpool still closed the gap and Man city needed a last game of the season win to be crowned champions. What is 4pts that can't be covered.

If you think this squad with the main players coming back will still drag for top 4, then maybe you don't trust klopp the way I do sha undecided

I'm not criticising White playing in that position(my post didn't even do that). But my point is clear, White playing in that position is probably affecting Odegaard and Saka effective firepower due to him not attacking nor having that understanding the way Tomi and Cedric had.

I always grunt anytime Xhaka is with the ball. Our attack is almost limited to the left, with Zicko, xhaka and nelli. I'm hoping next nelli change wing with Saka so he can have more of the ball at the left wing. Happy seeing our wingers help out in the defence.
Lol, you want to kill the cohesion the left wing have so that Saka can see more of the ball? Are you serious? shocked

The issue with Right wing is that White is not a good attacker from that wing and the understanding with Odegaard and Saka isn't there yet unlike the left hand side. I don't know how long before Tomi is reinstated back but I just hope it's sooner rather than later.

Moreover Saka is not even bad this past two matches, just that he is not at the best we've always expecting from him. I believe with time and Tomi introduction, him and Odegaard will explode, just like last season cool
