GoddyOra: I get your point my good man. My only issue is scapegoating Maguire when he was the better performer in that backline. Against Brighton, everyone gave Martinez a let-off for he was the a better performer and slandered Maguire which was acceptable.
Now after the 4-0, United fans rarely slandered the major culprits (Eriksen especially) from that backline and still want to pick Maguire as the scapegoat. Does that seem fair to you? How many United fans mentioned Martinez after the game even when it was obvious that Brentford targeted him and Varane did better after he replaced Martinez?
Maguire might be a poor fit for United but it would make sense to accord him the majority of the blame when he plays bad not when his defensive partners sold the game with individual errors.
Hopefully ETH tries a 3-man backline of Martinez/Bailey, Maguire, and Varane against Liverpool for better protection cos that midfield na the main issue (express way). Oh, I understand you now and I get your point. Even though Brentford's match is the least Match to defend Maguire sha but I now fully understand where you're driving at. And Tbh, I agree with you. 3 ATB is the way to go at least for the short term fix. This can actually help United's Midfield while solidifying their defence, but will Ten Haag be that flexible Make we dey see sha |

kokaneprodigy: I watched the game as I was hoping they drop points. Which they did.
You rightly mentioned their (Palace) plan was to sit deep and counter. This thing happens in most games where the opponent decides to sit back and counter. The other team has no choice but to sit I. Their opponent’s half.
In the case of Palace they were comfortable with that one goal and knowing Liverpool having nothing to lose will bombard them, they’ll have to sit much deeper. It was a tactical move from both sides. Palace came to sit deep.
Do you realize this match was played at Anfield? Yeah, I know the match is at Anfield. While I understand all what you said but I still fail to understand Liverpool will make crystal palace park the bus throughout with one man down. I mean, if crystal palace was one man down or it was 11, it would have been understandable but not when Liverpool have the disadvantage then stifle their counter attack like that. There's a reason I brought up the Man city comparison and that's because are known to press any underdog and turn them to park the bus and counter attack tactics yet under same situation as Liverpool ystdy they floundered at Etihad |

Spy360: I think it was against Watford. Though we won but came under serious pressure when they came down to 10 men.
Don't get me wrong, tactics is very essential in this kind of situation, but tactics alone will fly out the window if the mentality is not there. Mentality first then tactics.
Klopp is an excellent tactical coach and his tactics helped them during that period. But it is their mentality that made Liverpool get better after losing a player not tactics. I think it's Wolves(first leg) you're referring to instead of Watford. But then that's not a direct example because we were leading 1-0 and had a red card, so it's logical for us to defend. It would have been different if Wolves had the red card and still pressed us with our 1-0 lead throughout the 2nd half. And yeah, I understand the mental strength, Liverpool have it in ounces but it would have been difficult without the right tactics |

kokaneprodigy: football is not 1+1. Crystal Palace are the underdog here. This is a team that’s yet to win a game this season. They lost against us, and were playing Liverpool and you expect them to come out and not try to defend that 1 goal lead? If you watched that game you'll know crystal palace plans was to park the bus and hit on a counter with Eze being the ball carrier and Zaha the striker. Whether they were one goal up or not, they would still park the bus. The issue here is the counter which was effectively stifled by Liverpool even though they were one man down. If you watch that game well, you'll know crystal palace still tried the counter tactics but was effectively stifled. My praise for Liverpool and Klopp was that how were they able to do that even with one man down. I know how we(and most top team) dey always collect woto woto if faced with exact such situation as Liverpool |

BlueRayDick: It’s actually injuries that Is dealing with them not necessarily mane’s departure . Jota is out injured , Thiago is out injured and a host of other first team players .
I also do not buy the Van Djik overhype even though I believe he’s a good defender sha , but it’s obvious he’s not the only one that makes their team tick.
Anyways I hope their injury woes continue jare. Thank you bro. Only Jota subbed into that attack with Salah ystdy would have yielded a goal with the kind of pressure crystal palace was subjected to, not to talk of thiago who would have worked wonders creatively with that amount of pressure they had Seeing klopp subbing in Gomez, Tsimikas, Henderson and rookie Cavalho when they needed a goal should tell one how deep the injury crisis dealt with them ystdy. |

kokaneprodigy: It’s a tactical move from Liverpool and Crystal Palace. At 1-0 and a man down going to the end of the game. Liverpool has nothing to lose coming out.
The approach from Liverpool would have been different if they (Liverpool) were leading before going a man down. That red card happened in 57 minute oo. Man city in same situation against same crystal palace still collected another goal ontop the 1-0 they received before the red card and after that red card, they didn't even press crystal palace like that before the 2nd goal. I'm yet to see a team that's being red carded and still a goal down pressing the way Liverpool did ystdy. Even Counter was difficult for crystal palace. At a point I was even thinking crystal palace had the red card cos no place to even exploit |

GoddyOra: One person plays better the his other three defensive partner and defensive midfielders doesn't that make him your best defender in that game?
Na Maguire say make DDG let ball slip under his arm for the first goal?
Or did Maguire tied DDG or Eriksen brain to drop brainfart moments on the second goal?
Or did Maguire send ETH message to use a line-up with only one tall defensive player (plus even midfield) against a physical Brentford? Maybe if Martinez was taller, he would have headed out the ball from the set piece for the third goal. Maybe if there were taller players someone would have even prevented Toney from heading the ball at the back post.
Or did Maguire reduce Shaw pace that he couldn't catch up to Da Silva for the fourth goal or maybe he did vodoo on Dalot to lose out Toney on the counter?
Everyone can blame Maguire all they like but he was easily United best player in your defense in the last game.
This is a fact. It's not my business in what you do with this fact man. Lol, boss nothing like that. So let's assume the backline of Dalot, Maguire, Martinez and Shaw have a rating of 3.0, 4.0, 2.0, 3.0 rating respectively, you'll say Maguire was the best defender? Is that putting it mildly or are you sarcastic? I watched that game and nobody stood out at all. From Ronaldo to Ericksen to Maguire down to the keeper, no one person stood out in the midst of that shambolic display at all. This one you're doing relative best na wash. Though it will be a tough order. It happened to us? Against who? I believe it takes more than mental strength to do that. Tactics-wise, it's difficult for a team to camp another team in their own box with 10men even if the other team dey look for draw. Klopp na Baba abeg |

donstan18: It’ll always come like trolling or cruise, but one thing is mostly common; I’ll be proven right. It’s inevitable.
Mane was the heart of Liverpool, every quality performance you saw from Liverpool was possible because of Mane.
From defense, midfield, creativity, marking, pressing, physicality, ginger, aggression.
The sacrifice was just too much.
Finishing, with left foot, right foot, heading, outside box18 strikes, from dribbling to assist.
Bossing big teams, big defenders, proper big game player for club and country. Call him anytime and he’ll perform.
There was a reason he’s won major trophy without Salah and Klopp with Senegal, a reason he has bodied Salah back to back.
Fact is Fact!! Call it trolling or not, fact will always, always and always be fact. I pity Diaz, he’ll be another person to suffer for Klopp and useless Salah to take accolades.
Mane was Liverpool, he made Klopp, made Salah relevant, carried the team and I’m so happy he signed for Bayern. He’s won it all for Liverpool and have nothing else to prove, He chose the right club, where he’ll win trophies, statpad and upgrade his CV. Mtcheww!! Because of two matches naim you dey write all these shalaye. When Liverpool start to win, we no go see you again. |

MorataFC:
Smh, was Cucurella fouled or not? if foul wasn't worth a red then it should be yellow (though that's not VAR call) and if it doesn't worth yellow card what of freekick? Like I said earlier, foul reviewed the incidence only because it is believed the ref didn't see it at all. Var will never ever review a yellow card or foul offence unless the sequence directly leads to a goal, Only red card offence. Unfortunately this didn't leads to a goal but a corner kick. So the reason why Var called was for a red card offence. They reviewed it and found out it wasn't deemed a red card, so play goes on. Even though it's a foul, but since ref didn't blow it at that spot, then it's no longer termed a foul The blame goes to the ref for not spotting it when it happened even though it happened in front of him and also Var for not instructing the ref to go view it personally to see if it's a red card offence |
