openmine: Bro as much as i agree with you on the highlighted, this is not actually the bone of contention! True a club will not let the player leave esp having signed an early contract....However,my line of thought or argument is that if a player is heading towards his middle or latter part of his contract, two options are presented, either he signs a new contract or he requests that he wants to leave....at that stage,no club can prevent him from doing so! This is why i stated in one of my postulations here that it was going to be hard(though not impossible) for any suitor to sign Nicolo Barella from inter having signed a new 4 year contract late last season! I admit that the club may have an upper hand if it pertains to a new transfer or after a new contractual deal with a player... The bottomline is that one way or the other, the player will most likely have a final say towards the later stages of his contract with the club!
I actually have one on this platform and there are several more where Arsene wenger and Suarez talked about what transpired over the botched deal! Suarez had prior to the upcoming season bit a chelsea player Branislav Ivanovic which landed him with an EPL ban and prevented him from starting the season and other few opening matches...his disciplinary records previously and recently meant there weren't many serious suitors except Arsenal! While Suarez was desperate for a move, his agent secretly told arsenal officials including arsene wenger about his client's release clause on his contract hoping such vital information will be enough to make arsenal generate a better bid....But Arsene wenger's frugal nature got the better of him and he told the Arsenal management to place a pound sterling ontop the already exposed release clause...This generated a lots of controversy which prompted a famous hilarious shade by the LFC owner Henry who inquired what they were actually smoking over there referring to the Arsenal management! During this controversy,Gerard advised and convinced Suarez that he was better off with Liverpool than Arsenal labelling Arsenal as a light-weight compared to other clubs...Suarez agreed and stayed! Had a near perfect season in 2013/2014 before Barca the following season made a better bid in excess of 65m pounds and the rest is history!
Firstly Harry Kane's last signed a 6 year contract extension in 2018 Thats means he currently had 3 more years on his contract as at last season when Mancity was bidding for him...Based on this info, his contract is not early and that would not have posed any threat! If Kane wanted to leave at that point,it would have been easier as long as the purchase club was willing to meet the demands of the parent/client club and the player was determined to leave!! However, there may be some factors that may have made him stay put ; 1. It was reported that Daniel Levy had a productive discussion with Kane that softened his stance 2.Part of the discussion that may have convinced Kane to stay might not be far from getting the right manager and buying the right playersto be competitive! 3.Kane knew a revolt would not be good for his image as a cult hero in spurs hence an attempt not to play would have elicited a negative reaction from the media and fans alike esp being an English man. 4.Getting relegated to the U-23 like you opined was nothing new to players who were plotting a move away from the club..Former Chelsea player Diego Costa did not even go close to Chelsea training pitch and decided to train at Brazil until his deal to Atletico Madrid was sanctioned! 5.Before or after deals fail to materialize, club officials plead with such disgruntled players to stay and most times use financial inducements or offer some sort of authority in the team as motivation to make a player to stay....an example is Mbape!
At the end,if the clubs are smart enough to convince the players to stay, they will reconsider but anything other than that which includes cajoling will only enforce their bid to leave and no club can stop them no matter their stance!
Lewa has just has a year on his current contract and will likely push for a move away from Bayern! He has been quoted in interviews where he has said the following about Bayern Munich; 'Something died inside me' "My era there is over" 'I hope they don't stop me'
Such utterances will likely ensure he downs tools just to soften their stance and make him leave! The breach you have stated is exactly what he wants...He wants the management to get frustrated and make the media pressure them to either accept what Barca has to offer or terminate his contract like Abu!
Lastly,Harry Kane never apologised or asked for forgiveness from the club officials! This statement is false! You can make your inquires! Rather he stated that he and his agents had a productive and convincing discussion with Daniel Levy which made him stay put! If Daniel Levy had kept with his earlier stance and told Harry he was going no where like a military officer, this would have strengthened Kane's resolve to leave either in early January or after the conclusion of last season! At the end,the player hold most if not all the aces! Fair points |

donjazetl: Now jo.dera I move to state my reason for my problem with raumdeuter.
I have said it previously that politics is not football.
You see when I was supporting Buhari in 2014, I was just finishing university and as of then I really didn't understand the impact of government on the citizens life.
My general notion was that, no matter what, man go survive. I was a dependant on my parents. So it was very easy to look away. You don't have to bother about planning your spending, how much you buy your fuel, how much you spend on feeding or sewing and buying new clothes, accomodation payments etc etc.
But now that we've grown, we're suddenly concerned with the country's international standing and image, the impact of economic policies on all our lives, the effects of economic and monetary policies. And all these other things.
I know that many people still don't care about these things. Even my parents are ignorant about some of the things I just posted. And maybe ignorance is bliss indeed.
But when you juxtapose the effect of government policies on the lives of their citizens in other countries countries and your own. You become invested in it. Having read through your post I really understand what you're saying but I think you just have the issue of tolerance. Now, there's a reason why I highlighted the bolded and that's to tell you that even though politics isn't football but the oneness/togetherness and idea we all have in football can make us understand the diverse understanding we all have in our differences. Now, if you understand football and you know why you love football and why you might be emotionally attached to it, using such logic you'll see why Christian revere Jesus and Muslims revere Muhammad and even though you feel you don't want to worship/revere them, you'll have that tolerance with them instead of attacking them and their beliefs just same way you've tolerance with other club fans not supporting Chelsea. Same thing with politics and people's choice of aspirants. Once you see that they've choice to vote whomever they want to vote, respect it. There are some people who respected your choice for believing in buhari 2015 who later fvcked up , why then are you now bashing people for believing in Tinubu? The screenshots you dropped today gave a story of the poster who never wanted fashola. But fashola won and his expectations from the governor was better than what he imagined as fashola performed very well. Now same fashola he prayed for to become minister of power or works became such but the expectations was a disaster as we all know he performed poorly. So you get the point? No be who we project go finally become what we want. So we can only hope and have faith that such candidate do well after doing our part (which is to vote) My point is simple: respect people's view, counter the reasons why you feel their choice are wrong instead of attacking the person's personality, give reasons why your candidates is better and always always put yourself in other people's shoes and respect their choices. Don't ever think that because they support Tinubu they don't love Nigeria or because you support Obi na you love Nigeria pass. Las las, ours is to do our part and time/posterity will judge us all. Who knows Tinubu or Obi fit do well or Fvck up. Na just time go tell Also, No be everything dem dey drag. You're not religious, fine. That doesn't mean those who are religious are foolish to worship God or believe in its prophet. That's where tolerance comes into play and that what I'm imploring you to have. Different strokes for different folks and everybody go dey alright. I believe it's a long read but I just hope it's worth the length and time |

It is not my place to speak on long-held family beliefs but it is important that every human should learn to individualise people to prevent genocidal rhetoric and actions aimed at whole groups of people in payback for the actions of a few. That also goes for those of us who see all Fulani or Muslims as the same and spit hatred at whole groups of people. True and this I agree with 100% Very very important |

nihilistjnr: You got it.
I'd also go as far as pointing out that most of Dayos comments were made in the the ethnic and racist sub-section of the politics section, where most posters from different ethnicities are equal participants in such tribal warfare.
That's why I refused to condemn Dayo when Donjazet tried to spin the narrative of SPREADING hate, which is quite frankly a ludicrous accusation given how contained and localised Dayo's comments are.
They might be disgusting comments but Donjazet lifted those comments out of context and start posting them on the major threads of sports section, branding Dayo a serial killer, Nazi, Hitler fanatic and blah blah.
His aim was to utterly assassinate the character of a popular, well-liked poster. It had nothing to do with Tinubu or even Japa. Before all of this happened, Donjazet used to go at Dayo after the Timi Dakolo situation, and even went as far as fulling doxxing his parents name and picture on the Chelsea thread.
With these comments he had finally found the weapon to the finish the job he started 3 years ago, and that's why it was so important for him to get everyone here to explicitly call Dayo out and metaphorically group-shank him like Julius Caesar.
Donjazet doesn't give a shït about anything - he was just as passionate about Buhari till he wasn't, and even after his extended abuse of Roman Abramovich, he still ended up posting another long epistle about how the man was a good man.
Donatus is a budget, boot-leg, low-quality, made in Taiwan Gorr the God slayer, who suffers from extreme envy and wanted to take Dayo out.
He knew exactly what he was doing. The bolded is exactly also why most people didn't even condemn Dayo. Plus other hateful words like Hitler this, this one that is just plain wrong. Not everyone will even be as cool as Dayo to even stomach that for long not to talk of trying to paint him (Dayo) as one villain that should be feared in almost all known thread that dayo frequents. |

Android17: I agree with everything here. You cannot beat a child and then tell him not to cry.
And some of the people who feel emotional about certain things are quick to go the lowest of lows when provoked.
I have seen mental health advocates quick to call Pep Bi-Polar knowing full well that most people see it as intolerant to criticize others about their mental health.
That is why I will never criticize raumdeuter for being vicious in the politics thread. Exactly boss. I'm just even realising now that even the perceived attacks on Igbos by Dayo is something even personal to him and he was even matured enough to restrict it to a confined place were tribal wars/slurs are at a maximum. So we should understand where some of this outbursts is coming out from when the environment is flaming the fire. So many times, when we put things in context, we'll understand why someone is doing such wrongs. |

Now my Opinion and thoughts on Don.jazet campaign
Don J, I respect you and your learned exposure. One thing I mostly (and highly) respect about you is that you no dey fear anybody. This your awareness in this voting is also something I respect about especially the way you aggressively do it.
But then, while you aggressively push Obi campaign which I admire, I will humbly advice you to respect other people's choices and views. Now, when you Started, you talked about how you wanted to sensitize people to vote for Obi and that your target audience are people who have apathy to voting or people who have lost hope in this nation, that their vote can make things right. What this means is that, you're targeting people who aren't supporters of Tinubu or Atiku which I feel is a great strategy but along the line you started to deviate from the plan. You attack people who are supporters of Tinubu or Atiku and throw in the tribal talks if anybody doesn't seem to associate with Obi. It's as if you're ready to pick argument with anybody who isn't on Obi side. I don't know whether you expect that there wouldn't be any Tinubu or Atiku supporters in this section.
I will implore you to please leave dem Dayo, Oas.is, larr.ide ribbi.t and other known Tinubu supporters alone and respect their choice. Hundred to Thousands of people are reading this your debate/post and those are the people you should be targeting and convincing cos there will be some apathetic voters there. It saddens me that if someone when some Tinubu crews ask you questions about Obi, instead of answering it you'll resort to attacking either the person or Tinubu himself instead of answering the question. This your aggressive manner in handling such While Tinubu supporters brings facts on why he should be president would make people looking on at the sidelines to vote for tinubu If care isn't taken. While I'm a PO supporter and will surely vote for him whether anyone brings Tinubu/Atiku merits or not, not everyone watching on the sidelines will do such.
Know this: No matter how anybody brings up Tinubu achievements to paint him as a credible aspirant, you know that you'll never vote for him. So also put it in mind that there are people who are like you but are Tinubu supporters. So if they cannot sway you, then know that not every Tinubu/Atiku supporters can be swayed also. Reason why respect is key |

My Opinion is this... While what rau.mdeuter said in those screenshot was very very bad but we need to look at it in context. That's politics thread and in that thread, anyone who "goes lower" wins. In fact, just 2days ago and yesterday I (with Iz.zou) remembered dragging Mane against Don.stan. I know who Dons.tan is and I know not to get shut up, I need to go "lower" in belittling Mane just to make Donstan own the L. I belittled his achievements, afcon win and if I can go lower than in "finishing" Mane I will cos any argument against Don.stan no need 'gentleman'. Now, will that define my thoughts that I hate Mane ordinarily? No, cos that's someone I even like and respect when talking about players. But context, the person I'm up against and the environment made me do that to Mane.
And that's how I believe we should look at it with Dayos case — context and environment. Ask yourself, Have Dayo instigated any tribal talks even subtly in sports section whenever we're discussing? Have you seen him talk down on any Igbo person in sports section or make such tribal remarks unprovoked? Even the posts that was brought out, was that an action or a reaction to a previous tribal slurs? Remember to always put in mind that in any diss, troll or argument, the law of "going lower" than the person you're up against always apply. While some might be tolerant, others can't.
So would I use that to judge Dayo? Personally I won't knowing the kind of environment that post was made and how both exchangers have a hell-bent on going "lower".
No wonder most people were surprised that he made such post. |

Omooorrr... This was hotter than fayyaaa!!! Where do I start from sef Incase you missed the fight from the very beginning, lemme summarise then give my opinion Raum.deuter Vs Don.jazet fight Origin — We all know that for every action there's equal and opposite reaction. Don J have been instigating this fight since the beginning of this thread (tho from carryover of Chelsea's thread). I remember when Emmy.nator asked dayo a question concerning tinubu and Donj told Emmy not to ask dayo anything that he's the wrongest person to ask. While dayo ignored that I think that sets the tone for this present violence. Then I remembered the subsequent ones. In this case, dayo opened an open interview saying anybody who wanted to be clear regarding why Tinubu (and later Atiku) can't make a good president should bring forward their questions and concerns and he'll answer them. Don j(with the help of klo.ppo) always makes it a point of duty to attack Dayo personality while asking questions. Even though Dayo warned them to desist from attacking his personality, saying that nobody have the monopoly of "vayolenzz", he still answered their question while ignoring the attacks. Yet the attacks was still forthcoming. This last incident happened in Chelsea thread before all post where wiped clean. Then the vayolenzz proper occurred. It was still Don J who still instigated the flame by calling dayo some harsh names subtly without any attack from dayo which was then highly inflamed by Sean.k and that was where all hell was let loose —that's the violence you've been witnessing from the past two days . Reason for Don J personal attacks on Dayo — Well two things. Because Dayo is a japa agendist who believes if you want a better living, japa from this country. This didn't sit well with Don j at first since he believed that Nigeria can still be salvaged. We'll keep this first reason at the back of your mind. Second reason was because Dayo said he's supporting Tinubu. This extremely didn't go down to well with Don j especially as he sees anyone who supports Tinubu as an enemy of progress of this nation. Moreover Dayo mocks Obi and ridicule most of his achievements. This together with the first reason became the reason for the dislike of Dayo by Don j since he believes Dayo wants we Nigerians to suffer while dayo dey chill for America . So Don J went to work and started digging Dayos past. Seeing some of his past talking about extreme tribalism and love for Yoruba (plus Tinubu), that was the weapon Don J used personally to always attack Dayo. Even though I want this to end as it's getting messier by the day, who am I to quench the vayolenzz |

ObaIgwe1: Ipswich Town faced Arsenal in a behind-closed-doors pre-season friendly this afternoon.
Ended 5 - 1, With Nketian scoring an hat-trick
The match took place at the Gunners' training ground, London Colney, with Mikel Arteta's men running out 5-1 winners in Hertfordshire.
Both sides played first-half XIs and second-half XIs.
Arsenal got off to a strong start and took the lead through Eddie Nketiah in the early stages. The Blues lost possession inside their own half, with the Gunners capitalising as Nketiah finished well.
Kieran McKenna's side had the next chance, but Pablo Mari got back in time to deny Freddie Ladapo following Conor Chaplin's lofted through ball.
Christian Walton produced a good double save in the 20th minute as he stopped Nketiah's header before improvising to clear the danger with his left leg as the striker looked to notch his and Arsenal's second on the rebound.
The Gunners' extended their lead midway through the first half as Sambi Lokonga fired in, before Nicholas Pepe almost found the back of the net with a curling effort.
Nketiah notched a quick double to complete his hat-trick, with his third coming ten minutes before the break.
Sam Morsy tested Leno just before the half-time whistle; the German 'keeper getting low to his right to stop the midfielder's drive from just outside the area.
Lee Evans forced Arthur Okonkwo, Arsenal's second-half goalkeeper, into a save just minutes into the second 45 as his curling strike from the corner of the area was tipped over the corner of the crossbar.
Greg Leigh got up well from the resulting corner, but his header dropped inches wide.
Kyle Edwards then went close after beating two Arsenal players; his improvised effort curling a yard wide of Okonkwo's right post.
Folarin Balogun added a fifth for Arsenal after his first strike had come back off the foot of the woodwork, with Sone Aluko then drilling into the bottom corner from the edge of the box for Town.
Wes Burns, Edwards and Joe Pigott continued to threaten for McKenna's men, but the score remained the same in the Blues' second pre-season outing.
Albie Armin got minutes for Town in both the first and second half.
TEAMS
Arsenal first half: Leno, Bellerin, White, Mari, Cedric, Partey, Maitland-Niles, Lokonga, Pepe, Nketiah, Nelson.
Arsenal second half: Okonkwo, Walters, Kirk, Awe, Sousa, Smith, Oulad-M'Hand, Patino, Hutchinson, Balogun, Flores.
