Those in charge at Arsenal were myopic. We won't be talking about SAF if they did what Man Utd was doing with saf in the transfers windows.

Looks like the EPL may not get such raving combo in ucl again. Klopp is still far away.
Do you mean about the board being stingy during Wenger's reign?

Aubameyang is an arsenal poster boy ,but no he must be Barca poster boy to justify arteta sending him away grin

Who won you the fa cup against Chelsea by scoring 2 goals in the finals

You can praise harvetz but you cannot praise what auba have done for your club that hardly win anything cheesy cheesy
Lol, you just intentionally choose to twist it about arsenal just so you'd have a leeway shey?? grin

You say Auba have 10 goals in 15matches. Last time I checked it was for Barca not for arsenal and I never for one said Auba was not a poster boy for arsenal or I didn't appreciate his contribution for us. I'm talking about Auba of Barca here not arsenal

My point is, that 10goal in 15games no too dey impactful because with or without Auba goals in the league, Una must still make top 4. E go dey different had it been Una dey drag for league but no na top 4. With Auba goals Una fit finish 2nd, without Auba goals possibly 3rd or 4th. To me no difference grin

So it would have been better his goals were utilised in the Uel win where Una for get hope to carry trophy (even if e no reach 10goals) than to dey statpad for league where Xavi Don make top4 sure for Una.

Holding can partner Gabriel, xhaka and white
I read Tomi is back in training he can come in the second half
Omo, Tomi matter don tire me oo.

Everyday I dey see am for training but not on match day squad. Before I was having confidence that he'll be in bench against Southampton, now I'm hearing Chelsea. I want that guy to start against Chelsea and the only way to do that is to have some cameo appearance against Southampton.

As for Gabriel holding partnership, modern coaches nowadays hardly break up partnership except if there's injury or rest to one of them. E dey hard and I won't be surprised if Arteta doesn't break up the partnership this weekend even if it's possible to do so

Ian Wright made a statement on Nketiah.

He hasn't done enough to turn heads in his direction. Many players have turned heads with less than half the minutes he's played this same season
He however looks like he's going to get the nod next match.
I heard exactly same thing ystdy at that "Wrighty and Kelly show" from Wright.
It was Exactly same thing I was telling Spy then but he thinks I'm just blindly defending Lacazette. Nketiah would have done more, but he didn't and that's the sad truth. Greenwood broke into man u first team with less minutes when he was given the chance by scoring by the 70th+ min whenever he came on. Ole no just dash am regular shirt like that. Same with Martinelli and Saka.

While I'm even banking on Nketiah now is because Laca is not even doing the things I was even defending him for again and I think that's what Arteta might probably be reasoning (if that illness is a cover up stuff).

If Nketiah hopefully starts tomorrow, then he should try to capitalise on it(no better time than now).

He has scored 10 goals in 15 games

Show me the arsenal player with such stats grin
Sometimes the smallest number is greater than the largest number – Paul Heyman

There's a reason why havertz na poster boy for Chelsea UCL win with only 1 goal while Abraham with more goals was forgotten.

It would have been better he scored just 5 important goals that will ensure a Uel win than to be porting goals in league wey Una go still make cl with/without his goals grin

Nuno na, I won't give up on that boy yet he's shown to have potential in the early season
Same here.
I'm still mad that Arteta used Xhaka as lb against Brighton who themselves was in low confidence heading into the game (losing their last 7 matches or thereabout).

That would have been the perfect moment to trust tavarez and not dampen his confidence the more. Instead he just used one tweak(shifting Xhaka to Lb) to kill 3 positions.

Jencejyde:
I'm struggling to understand the instructions given to Laca. If he is to play the CF role, then he should be doing more shuttles in and around the 18yard rather than coming way outside the yard into midfield to get into play.

Unless it's what the manager has instructed , then it's not helping his game at all. I remember when Laca was in Lyon and was playing the CF role with aplumb but it seems either he is asked to play it differently or he lacks the fitness levels to do those runs in and around.

A CF must have pure instinct and technique before anything else, fitness and understanding of the role may alter performance but ultimately the instinct and technique will prevail if consistent.

I can understand why we wanted that guy that went to Juve. The guy is something else with technique and instinct.

Well it all goes back to the board and the decision to let Auba go without getting a decent backup. It's a shame really and unless Laca just finds form out of nowhere then it's a long road
I feel that's the bolded. Lacazette is hardly a box that shuttles around in and around the box. He always love to involve himself In things. Also I think his fitness level is not that great. Wenger mostly sub him when he was our coach while Emery makes him hardly completes 90min. Also you note that Ligue 1 is different from premier League in terms of intensity during Laca time there

I think what Arteta is doing is that his just trying to maximize the best out of Lacazette by just telling him to do what he does best (linking up play and pressing from front) while the goalscoring is shared between him and his co-attackers.
Unfortunately, Laca forgot his duties as 9 and also what he's supposed to do.

I won't blame Arteta for wanting to make Laca being a creator as well as goalscoring after all that's how Kane became more rounded and what Pep initially asked of Aguero. Just that seems not to fit the bill again plus his at the Wrong side of age.

I raise my hands up now for his matter, we need another person even if na Nketiah or Martinelli. Maybe bench 2-3weeks go reset am

Arsenal was genuinely interested in Vlahovic but he preferred Juventus and they capitalised on it and hijacked the deal. This is why I am not going to be too hard on the board, coupled with the fact that signing just anybody will be worse than not signing at all.

As for Lacazette, I blame Jodera. undecided

Nketiah na NEPA ambassador too.
Nketiah wey be off and on now is better for us now. At least Laca Don totally off for the past 3 weeks or more.

Let Nketiah play 9, if it doesn't too work out then Martinelli should take over the 9. Arteta just need to be proactive and tactical

International football has been used as a vehicle to pass good social messages for a long time now. It was used to pass anti-apartheid messages, antiracism messages, anti-war messages and now inclusion and tolerance messages. Many footballers are appointed as UN ambassadors for global peace.

I support using these large platforms to spread positive messages. In these Islamic societies, gay people are literally put to death, either by hanging or by stoning. It's an extremely homophobic and intolerant society that still enacts and enforces century old laws, it's okay for modern societies to use football to shine a light on the archaic practices still practiced there and hopefully enlighten their citizens.
While I don't dispute the fact that football should be used to pass on goodwill messages, anti-racism message and so on my point is that there should be introduced wisdom in dealings with stuff like this. Knowing right time to do something is gold itself. No matter how we want to look at it, football is business and entertainment. World cup is also footballing business and entertainment reasons and the main aim why it's at Qatar is for pure footballing reasons. FIFA can't just jump on it to propagate the goodwill of LGBT using the world cup. To me it doesn't feel right.

There should be a set platform for it, maybe dedicated match, commercials, advertisement for it not the world cup. If this WC is for propagation of LGBT cause, then I won't even talk, but it isn't. The world cup is not the right place or event to do it is what I'm trying to say
