Lol, true but I wasn't really talking about the Fa cup and Carabao cup. What I meant is that if he starts winning the epl and UCL while playing good football, all epl (both fans and media) won't hear the end of him |

Playing him in the middle will affect the other part of the team especially when you consider there is no Rodri or Benardo in the England team to give the team the required control. Torrh.... hensben: Palmer wasn't underheming in that match, he was one of the brightest player that day, i'm not sure you watched the game. If at all, Foden dropped a stinker that day, he has being poor for England since his debut. Naah... Palmer was underwhelming that game. Both Palmer and Foden were underwhelming in that game |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Jodera: 8:51pm On Jun 17, 2024 |
hensben: He has being used as AM for England it is still same story. Foden’s type of football is he gives you short pass and then open space to receive the ball back but that type of player is not in England, I mean, Rodri, KDB and b Silva type of players, they mostly pull the intelligent passes and not Foden. Foden either square the ball or shoot. Palmer has foresight for intelligent passes that open up defense. How many times have he been played as Am? Maybe once or twice. Most times it's mostly Left wing position he plays in England and that's why he's giving underwhelming performances. See Palmer against Iceland when he played Right wing (Saka position). He was underwhelming (aside the fine pass he gave to Kane which he missed). So should we now judge Palmer that he's not a good player? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Jodera: 8:38pm On Jun 17, 2024 |
hensben: Two ball hugger in midfield will result to another blunt and uninspiring game. Either Palmer or Maino should start in place of Foden, while Foden keep his left wing position for now. Which Left wing position? Why don't you tell Palmer to play left wing for now? Foden is a midfielder and that's where he's best suited at. It's in that midfield that he won epl best player this season. Why then should he be shifted to wings? Foden is a ball carrier, a good passer. Let him play his Am and you guys should judge him there. You can't shunt him in the wings then turn around to criticize him by saying he doesn't perform in England shirt |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Jodera: 8:33pm On Jun 17, 2024 |
patrickmuf: Foden is deputy to Saka. It won't work. Foden can't play wings. In Man City that he normally plays there is different cos he'll always drift in and do tactical link up and play. England won't give you such privilege. His best is Am and that's where he should be deployed |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Jodera: 7:43pm On Jun 17, 2024 |
patrickmuf: People that have agenda are the ones talking about Agenda.
Bellingham as the attacking midfielder should learn to release the ball quicker, I thought he was over elaborate with the ball most times yesterday. Kane could hardly drop to influence the play because Bellingham was occupying that space and when he was upfront, the ball just wasn't getting to him because Bellingham simply is not the kind of 10 that has spatial awareness, he first has to hold the ball and attempt to beat one or two players when a quick pass should do.
Another error in their set up is playing Foden slightly to the left where he can't cut in to good effect. Gordon should own that space.
Trippier at RB is another error. I hope Shaw is fit for their game against Denmark.
Lastly, Trent still does not have a good understanding of the CM role, I'd love to see Bellingham drop deep to take that spot or have Mainoo in from the start.
................................Pickford................................ ...Walker.........Stones....Guehi..........Shaw........ ............Bellingham/Mainoo......Rice.................. Sake.....Bellingham/Palmer/Eze.......Gordon... ................................. Kane................................... In all of these, where is Foden? Also, I read Shaw won't be available till probably after the last group game match. Joe Gomez should be the one playing that Lb and not Trippier. Gomez have been playing there this season and he's been excellent there, I don't know why Southgate chose Trippier over him. Mine would be Pickford Walker. Stones Guehi Gomez Rice(Dm) Bellingham (Cm) Foden (Am) Saka Gordons Kane |

mostob: This is where the issue lies. A serious coach will go for balance over name. That is why England no dey win anything. Rice and Mainoo will give them that midfield control. Infact, I think I'll go for Palmer ahead of Foden. Let Foden battle with the wingers. Foden in wings is wash and that's what I believe have been affecting him in England so far. Rice, Bellingham and an Advanced Foden ought to work while Palmer can be a deputy for Foden. Palmer is good but then he should work for it. He hasn't even been tried in England set-up yet for him to just waltz into the first 11 like that. They have enough wingers already for them to start forcing Foden there |

Saka gets ball and 2 doubles up on him and yet he gets an assist. Anyhow e be sha. I think he's someone that needs team to be built around him to excel. This season was his really stand out season and that's because it was really built around him cos of absence of Kbb. Maybe that's what Southgate needs to do |

If France or Germany catch this England team eh... Lol... Southgate hands are hooked He must start Bellingham and Foden. No "IF" or "OR". He can still work with them Sha. 4231 with Foden as Am and Bellingham as box to box. They need to win this Euros and they must oo |

If na Jude they wan rely on sha, wahala dey. I have 6teams that can neutralize him in KO stages and hurt England. Na 1st match as you said sha. But i won't use Slovenia to think they've arrived either. Lol, England have been using Foden wrongly imo sha. Ystdy where they seemed to tactics abit and switch Foden to middle, he seemed come alive a bit but alas it was too late. Anyways, Foden na epl best. There must look for ways to put him or for him to start and that's why I'm suggesting him. No how an Epl best player should be a bench player |

daveP: I was thinking na Palmer or Gallagher go wear that 8. Only to see that Carpenter wey no sabi defend sotey e affect Saka game. Cos saka dropped deep like 1million times to help Walker and Arnold was nowhere near. Just imagine o! 😂😂😂😂😂 Rice work kon triple cos the guy was either losing the ball or watching instead of tackling. Smh.
England setup will be their undoing. They have personnel to go all the way. But if they continue to setup in such a way that the front 3 turn ghost for a large part of 90 mins, then oYO. Na Germany and Portugal be my sure bankers overall. England dey too but unconvincing for now. Rice suffered ystdy and he really tried. He stopped so many threatening attacks either by interception or tackles. But e come reach time for 2nd half Dem come dribble him life. Bellingham too tried defensively and gave his all but at some point, he started being overconfident and start playing "cruise" game which hurt England. Arnold own na to deh throw pass. Aside the tackle which led to Walker chance(that the latter missed), he was almost just anon throughout. Rice, Bellingham, Foden is the real deal in midfield. Foden should be allowed to Roam. Anyways Sha na first match and it's good they won it. No cause for alarm yet from my ends |

He'll be a good one to watch and get imo Yeah, especially Tadic. I wonder why they even benched him sef cos he's one of their best players. mostob: What if the backlash they received the last time reset their brain? Mind you, there were people all over the social media that disapproved that post. I could have shared screenshots that time. They did well this time sha. Lol, one thing with agenda and media(esp social media) is that you will only see what they want you to see. If somebody didn't gather all those four pictures together you pasted that day, you won't see it as anything. On a solo pix, you'll just see it as England lost a match (with Saka representing England as a player). You'll look at Saka as an England player and not as a "black" player that's being hounded (what they're manipulating you to see). And Tbh, those people who did that got the necessary reaction they wanted (all thanks to social media). Never for once have I looked at a footballer's normal pix on a cover page(esp a popular player at that) and it screams racism — especially when there's no name-calling on the player, no funny gestures, headlines or narratives attacking such player. To me it just feels cheap attention. This isn't the first time that Saka will be on a cover page (Win or lose) and ystdy just give further credence to that |
