daveP:He wasn't effective ystdy even when Serbia dominated proceedings in the second half. Anyways, I won't even use that to judge him. It's just first game |
Like I earlier said, this thing is overblown. Everyone knows Saka is their starboy Mostob, see that same Telegraph that put on Saka's picture when England lost against Iceland. Same Telegraph put on his picture when they won(even though he didn't score). All these things no be new things. Na people just wan bring racism card into this stuff that day. Nb: I promised you that I would try and bring a picture when they win without him scoring yet he'll still be their posterboy. That's me doing just that. I'll drop my pen on this matter hereon.
|
Saka is now used as a poster boy for lineup oo. I still feel that previous pix was overblown sha
|
mostob:Niceee |
mostob:Make we dey see Sha. Na for preseason I go know whether the postulation go hold true. As for duberry, e go dey really sad if he leaves. I just hope it's just rumors Sha |
Shegzdave:Both have been friends from childhood gan gan. Reading about their lives one would deduce that both are born to be coaches. Na just trophies deh wait for Arteta own. Hopefully he'll get those trophies |
mostob:Lol... So are you saying Martinelli would be Saka's deputy? Woww... Not bad if this is true but it's unexpected. Anyways, since it's like that, Arteta should use the opportunity to try and promote Dem duberry and Nwaneri. Him no really rate Carabao cup thus make him try Dem for there |
🗣️| Xabi Alonso opens up about his close friend Mikel Arteta: 🔸"I'm lucky to have a friend next door who is as crazy about soccer as me. His name is Mikel [Arteta]. We often talk about skateboarding, playing tennis at the beach, surfing and Of course, football too. That kid - even more crazy about football than me. He's a little younger than me and my friends - maybe just a few months. 🔸But, he is a competitive monster. He always wants to win, even if it's just a match on the beach. That's the kind of passionate love for this sport that no one can show you. You were born with it. That is the strong connection between us. And everything is still like that, until today... 🔸One month ago, I received a phone call from my old friend Mikel. And as usual, we still talk about football. 🔸He said, "Hey, we're playing Bayern Munich in the Champions League this week, what do you think about them?" 🔸I replied, "Well, we'll also play West Ham, what do you think?" If you told us as children that each of us would lead Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen for the next 30 years, I'm sure we would both be bursting with happiness and shock." Excerpted from The Players Tribune ✅ Your thoughts... |
mostob:Wing strikers is even better cos they can do two Jobs (incase of injury, they can fit in). But then Isak is a no go area. Na Newcastle posterboy be that Tbh, I'm more concerned about us getting Saka deputy and beefing up quality squad depth than us getting a striker |
mostob:It's the reason I said las las, we fit no even buy striker sef ![]() |
Spy360: ![]() I go watch am keenly this coming season. Na my football goal be that aside watching arsenal. ![]() |
Spy360:You will always call youth level ![]() There are many players that made it at youth level but couldn't cut it at senior level. Examples abound Anyways, whether true striker or not, I don't see what you're seeing in Nketiah. He's not making that 9 his own at all. Havertz for example I watched him keenly at Chelsea, I know he's good at playing 9 reason why I advocated that the best place to play him without us gnashing our teeth always is the Cf position (not midfield like we originally intended). He doesn't work hard like GJ (even though he does work hard) but one thing you'll agree with me is that you'll feel his presence in that Cf position. That's something I don't get to see from Nketiah at all. It doesn't matter whether he's a true 9 or a false 9. I believe he's a midtable striker and there's nothing wrong with it |
germaphobe:Lol, he's not serious. So he's still considering? This is someone that doesn't make match day squad when everyone is fit. He should be pushing his agent now to be looking for club already |
Jamiuokolla:Naah... Coaches voice ought not to carry more weight when recruiting players cos Las Las, coaches job are mostly transient compared to players. It should be a joint responsibility and understanding. Ten Haag and the Dof should decide what style and pattern of play they want to adopt, once this is settled, then the Dof would get to work to give him the kind of players that would suit such pattern. That's the synergy most top successful teams do. |
mostob:Lol, experience shouldn't be a problem na. This guy have been in top flight football for how many years now. It's not as if we're buying one greenhorn from Africa or far east Europe. Anyways, let's just see wetin Arteta and Edu go get for us. Las Las, we fit no buy any Striker sef ![]() |
Jamiuokolla:A good Dof will hardly get bums cos he'll have all the time to analyze and dissect the players they're watching, something a coach won't have on his hands. Take example of Liverpool Dof. Klopp wanted Brandt(mostly because he knew him due to German things) when he wanted to buy an attacker to complement/complete their attack, their Dof (Edwards) noticed that with Klopps style of players Salah would be good and he pointed Salah to Klopp instead of Brandt as someone who will gel well into his system (both players were very young then) and since both coach and Dof were in very good working relationship and understanding, Salah was bought and the rest is history. Tho exceptions may be made for one or two players (for the coach) but mostly it's the dof responsibility to identify players that'll fit into system Also Dof won't go all Transfer window wasting time on De Jong that will never come. Something Ten Haag did on his debut season |
engrelvis:The question should be "why not".? Coach already have a lot of work on his hands normally, from tactics to strategizing to keeping the players motivated and focused. Adding recruitment process to his workload should be an enormous task for him. What you should be looking at is that the coach should have a good working relationship with the technical director for things to go smoothly and fast. That's what successful teams do |
Shegzdave:Lol... Issorait. Personally, I go try watch am well next season |
mostob:Lol, I have highlighted the difference between Solanke and Nketiah earlier. If there's any of the difference you feel is false, let me know See ehn, Strikers hard for market. The worst part is that most of the Strikers we're being linked to (or most of us even want) and technically "one season wonders" too if we look am well. From Sesko, to Dovybk to Gyokeres. Aside Osimhen who isn't a one season wonder, which other Striker are in the market (and young) aside from those first three? We need to make our own "striker" and what we need is someone who has the needed attributes and that's exactly what I listed earlier. Game changing and influence will come automatically with game time and confidence as long as the said player has the mentality. I believe Solanke has Matured enough. But then, it's my opinion tho |
Spy360:It's not because of true striker or false striker. It's because Nketiah is not that good. I'don't have confidence anytime the guy is starting I dunno what you see in him sha but currently I think the best for all parties is for him to move on |
Spy360:Lol... I wish we fit do swap deal sef ![]() |
Ballzproblemm:Lmaoo... Madonna once said : You only see what your eyes want to see Crystal palace is advertising their new Jersey for next season. You're here seeing "buy olise" You funny sha ![]() |
timbros:Yes boss |
BlueRayDick:Lol, Spy went extreme there Sha but I know he didn't mean it that way ![]() He probably just want arsenal to do everything in their power to make sure he doesn't depart colney. I know say na the news Sod drop ystdy fit trigger this reaction from spy cos I know most arsenal fans won't be happy if he left after all the hype and exploits he's been garnering |
Spy360:Underrated how?? I dunno if he'll be a late bloomer Sha but presently he's not looking like someone that will be our Cf. Nketiah needs to be sold. He's not imposing enough His link up isn't that great In fact, to cut the long story short, he doesn't fit a title challenging team currently. I know I defended him as a good deputy when guys where clamoring that he should be sold but then that was because we were top 4 contenders. Now, unfortunately, I'm afraid we don outgrow him. As for Solanke, I believe he'll do well with quality players around him. He's fast He's aerially dominant His linkup is good His physically imposing Can take on his man While Goal scoring has a hitch here but he's proven that with a quality coaching and settled team he can really Excel. Scored 29 efl goals and 19 epl goals shows the mark of someone who can excel when he's surrounded by quality(anyone who knows Iraola from la liga knows he's a very decent coach so it wasn't surprising for me seeing Solanke with his output this season). He's 26yrs of age also, so he fits well into our age criteria too. For Nketiah, aside his poaching which I feel he's good at, he's limited in many other aspects One thing I know about myself is that I don't look at stats (or goals) to see if a player is this or that. I mostly (keenly) watch attributes and skillset such a certain player can bring to this team with respect to what we as a team have cos I believe a good team can make a good player look great while a poor team can make a good player look bad. Also a good/great player might look out of place in a good team whose system doesn't fit such player (it's one key reason I won't pick Haaland or Auba in this team even though they're great players) |
Spy360:Yeah, I believe arsenal will try and hold the this Chido boy. If we're serious, we should definitely make a clear path for him into the squad. And it's true with what you say about Most clubs buying potential big hits and young guys cos proven players unfortunately doesn't come cheap. Let's just hope we'll get someone good for a Cf. Jesus would have sorted this problem if only he was less injury prone and more clinical than he is |
timbros:Ribery and Ronaldo were the favorites |
mostob:ohh.. I see No wonder |
timbros:Lol... Maybe I'm lost on what we're talking about Sha ![]() |
timbros:Obviously as at 2013 it's supposed to be Ribery. The extended votes and immediate recency bias and uproar Ronaldo's hat trick against us Sweden tilted the favor |
mostob:Lol.. I na why Chelsea dey support Dem cos Dem Know say if akpako nack Man City, Dem fit open their own matter. ![]() Newcastle is planning to head into that direction too with the way they're moving reason why dem dey support Man City. My question is what interest does Aston Villa have? ![]() |
mostob:Yeah, perhaps it would have been rapid but do arsenal need another "potential or deputy" strikrt? I thought we need one that would slot into the team and elevate us instantly like G.j did for us. That was my line of thought all these while. Reason why I said Solanke is because he can bring that presence to the box compared to Nketiah(since that's what most of us clamoured for). Also he's very physically dominating and good aerially compared to Nketiah. He might be a diamond in the rough that can be polished into a devastating striker with the right element and quality surrounding him. I've not watched him well enough to know his other deciding attributes but this is just few times I did watch him last season. Striker scarce my brother. Maybe we just need one we could shape into a very devastating one na why I dey highlight Solanke |
