Thats why I keep asking the question if Arteta learns from his mistakes cause all matches Harvertz starts from the midfield, he was found wanting.

That's why I blame today loss on Arteta.
100% on Arteta!!!

Today match pain me well

There is a thin line between pessimistic and lowering expectations. The latter was the reason behind that post I made about going again next season. Havertz will be serving 2-game suspension in EPL.

That's a disadvantage sha... Might turn out to be a big blow.
We literally have it in our hands.

Lineup killed the game not whether we're pessimistic or lowering expectations.

Lineup fvcked us up.

Immediately I saw that lineup, I just knew if this game hard us(which was possibly expected) there's no one I can confidently call that would change game

This is what I was saying, he should keep starting match as a CF but not anywhere in the midfield, people he usually call upon to change game are those he started, thats why the sub was thrash and they ended up killing the game..

Before you can attack their defence as you said, you must be the one with possession. With Odegaard out, we lost the ball many times. This is where Partey and Vieira would have been effective. We needed to hold possession which ESR and Jorginho couldn't do.
Partey for Jorginho, I agree but we wouldn't still have attacked them effectively cos all valid attackers are gone(Jesus, Trossard, Odegaard)

I doubt Viera would dou zilch and the rest of Havertz, Nketiah no go do anything.

That's my point

Arteta dey learn from his mistakes so?
Few days ago, I know I mentioned Mostob to say most arsenal fans aren't criticizing Havertz like that again cos of his CF position.

We could see how we struggled especially in the 2nd half. Havertz can't even hold ball down if person near am.

Omorr this match pain me sha

Na Jorginho still caused the second goal. Someone was already pointing out options for him to pass but baba still lost the ball.
Tomiyasu for White was spot on. White was tired and Zaniolo was running riot on that wing.

Partey instead of Jorginho and Vieira instead of ESR. We would have fair better.
Partey and Viera wouldn't have done things in this match. The removal of Odegaard even scattered everything

We needed someone to attack their defence not buildups from back cos we're not lacking that — GJ and Trossard. Same thing like Bayern

Nothing is wrong with the line up bros
It as been like that all season
All our 5-0s and 6-0s mostly have Jorginho in DM and Havertz at CF.

We can also call on GJ and Trossard if things gets complicated.

Is it rocket science that Arteta is calling ESR, Tomi when he would have called on GJ and Trossard?

Nothing was wrong with that lineup. The substitutions really disrupted the match.
It's the lineup that made the substitution disrupt the match.

People who started were people who would have been subbed on when things gets tough

It was so easy to see.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 6:55pm On Apr 14, 2024
We had a strong lineup that Maximizes Rice strength for him to attack and minimise Havertz weakness in the team. The team is always fluid with that lineup..

And when things seems difficult, we can call on Jesus and Trossard, Zinny from the bench to give firepower against the tiring team. That's essentially what is called squad depth

But you started your squad depth (in Jesus and Trossard, Zinny) and when things are hot you remove them and put in people who aren't game changers(Tomi, Jorginho).

Worst part is that our play wasn't as fluid as it ought to be.

Arteta fvcked up for this one. From Lineup to Subs.

This one really pain me cos I saw it coming

The funny thing is that if Arteta had used his normal lineup, everybody here would still be the one to shout say why not rest some key players for Bayern.

There was no issue with that lineup, Arteta messed up with the substitutions.

Jesus and trossard earned their starting
Kai in midfield is nothing, I just hope they won't allow city stay at the top or else bye bye
Everyone knows Trossard is super sub. This is not the first time he's starting and not producing from wings. Hopefully he turns up today

And Everyone knows how Havertz is not really on form in midfield. I don't mind Jesus starting as Cf. My grouse is Havertz in midfield.

So why would he go down?

Like I said no one has been able to answer this question.
Why should we answer the question that only Saka can answer.

Is this the first time a player would see good goalscoring opportunity and ignore it for a penalty?

This is exactly my point. Exactly same thing I said days ago and Wright just concurred to it.

"His right foot shouldn’t be there. His right foot should be coming across to the left-hand side because that’s the side he’s just moved to.

"I thought when I saw it, it was strange that his body’s moving to the right when the ball has gone to the left.

Anybody who played football knows your body movement should move in the direction you played the ball to, especially when changing direction in that instance.

What even disappointed me is that Saka isn't even known for such behaviour.

I am here to inform you guys how your season will end: TROPHYLESS because you're not going to win the UCL and everyone knows you'll choke the league.

The issue with the UCL is due to what you have above. That mentality can never win you the UCL.

That was never a penalty and Bayern 100% deserved theirs.

Stage 1 is to accept it. Think "we almost lost a game we should have won, why?" And then work on improving the areas- mostly mentality gaps.

This was the same noise you guys made before the game yet historical winners NEVER ever disrespect the opposition.

You can't just experience a purple patch and assume you've arrived. Teams with 5 of the last 6 EPL titles don't talk that way but you? That is the issue.

Anyway, you guys won't listen. You'll keep building castles in the sky and then you'll get humbled next week. After that, you'll go into free fall in the league.

Mark it. grin

The embolden is one of the reasons I love Partey in our line up. Opponents can't man mark Odegaard if Partey is on the pitch because Partey will open them open. In that City game, he opened up Odegaard twice which led to Odegaard creating goal scoring chances for us. Odegaard is such an unbelievable talent with the ball but sometimes, team plan specifically for him and if we don't have another player with great passing abilities, especially in the middle, then it becomes difficult for him to impose himself.

After Davies suffered a yellow card for Bayern, we loaded the right side and so did Bayern, the implication was that the left side was open but we did not have any player in the middle that could lift their head up to make an incisive pass that is accurate and immediately changes the wing of attack. When Jorg (I think, or it may have been Rice) tried the cross pass it went to throw in, the other attempt did not immediately put Martinelli in a dangerous situation.

He has missed 26 games this season for us, we need to gradually increase his minutes without risking anything unnecessarily. At this time, I don't expect Partey to play 90 minutes for consecutive games, man is like 40 years old. We just need to make sure he plays just enough to be sharp for important games like yesterday. I hope he can get more minutes over the weekend to improve his sharpness and conditioning.
Truly I saw that ystdy and I don't know whether it's nervousness but it was mostly overhit or underhit.

I'm just glad Partey is back, I just hope we'll be able to smartly use him effectively as you said cos we'll be facing more of midblock teams now. We're at the business end of season where every team will use anything or tactics to prevent us from taking 3pts

Yes handling the ball on the field when in play is a foul. The law is the law

In my scenario too, Maguire intention was not to score, and Onana looking away to the backpass is a kid error and should not count as a goal
There have been many situations whereby ref will signal a throw in, a player would initially want to throw the ball, then at the last minute change his mind and give another of his teammate the ball to throw, yet I've never seen where such action is penalized with a foul(either free kick or anything). Highest it's a yellow card(certainly due to time wasting).

The example you're giving is a situation when ball is in play(Maguire example), I'm talking about a situation where the play is dead and a player is allowed to use his hands.

I've never seen a situation someone is penalized (with foul) for wanting to restart a dead play.

Let me ask if Man utd is to shoot a goal kick, Onana pass to Maguire, Maguire pass back but Onana wasnt looking and the ball entered the net

What should be the decision? Goal for opponent or let them replay it and use common sense since the intention was not to score in his own net
I equated it to throw-in not own goal since it's the intentional use of hands.

Would you penalise a player whom his teammate gave him ball to throw and he caught the ball with his hands while on the pitch?
