It is ridiculous to give Maduka Okoye credit for rendering Salah barren, Ekong, Sanusi and Moses Simon worked so hard to restrict Salah from having a sniff at our goal that the only thing he mustered was a tame shot that hit Maduka's foot so the credit should be given to our defenders not Maduka

The game plan is to shoot or connect with Salah when possible

Watching now Egypt against Guinea Bissau one thing is very clear, Guinea Bissau better than Sudan not by a lot

They are giving Egypt a strong challenge they are a collection of very tall Iroko Trees very athletic and physical. Egypt are not able to use their technical ability to control the game completely .

Our bench can do the job, not meaning to underate Eq. Guinea. But we need every match possible to get better as a team. I would start with most of our starters. The knock out stage will be another ball game. We should take the next game as serious prep match.

I would play Ebuehi and Aina as fullbacks. Nothing against Collins. At this point we are looking to improve the team going into the knockout stage. Don’t change the winning team much. They need more games to gel. Keep the CB pair of Omeruo and Ekong . Make most of the subs early in the second half.

Maybe Eguavoen should consider being less predictable with his tactics. I mean, i know he has had little time to inculcate different tactics to his team but why keep playing the same damn way even when your opponents have gotten wise to it and have checkmated it?

After that lackluster display for much of the first half, i expected a tactical switch but no. Baba continued with the same old. At this point, Eguavoen tactics have become about as predictable as direction from which the sun will rise tomorrow. At first bolded.... you are wrong. They made the wrong choice and lost the ball too many times. We could always recycle and rebuild through other channels. There was no way the Sudanese were gonna keep us out all game.
We needed to be patient in our buildups to open them up even more. But we rushed it and rushed away out of possession countless times in that first half.

Our goals came from a throw-in Oga, a freekick Oga and a third from the left side thru Awo and Simon combo. So how did the tight space passes that were majorly unsuccessful pay off please?

Egbon, admit it. We were not tidy in our possession in that first half. We lost the ball a lot. This is not about Nwakali now..
This is about us playing better going forward.

Uzoho after playing in the World Cup I expect to handle the pressure better, not to say he is better than Okoye.

Comrades cool down. Eguavoen wanted to see Nwakali more today. We will know if he played to instruction today going forward in the tournament. Personally I thought we had better control of the midfield in the second half. I had wanted Iwobi to come in early and Eguavoen did just that. I was very impressed with Iwobi in particular.

Sadiq on his part has not played like he deserves more game time.

I am not impressed with Zaidu’s attack game. He does a decent job defensively. I am curious what Ebuehi can bring both attack and defense wise.

Really I think it’s time for Musa to rest.

I am happy that we were not excellent today, so Eguavoen knows he still has a lot of work to do.

So far I would say the hosts and cup holders are the teams to watch. Forget Algeria started slowly. As long as Nigeria keeps getting better we can go all the way. But I want to reiterate we miss Osimhen.
