People are already underrating Algeria. nairalandankrah: It looks like we will have a relatively easy route to the finals. Bar Senegal in the quarters or semis, but apart from that it looks easy:
Gambia / Sierra Leone (1/8 final), Burkina Faso / Guinea / Senegal (1/4 final) and Senegal / Algeria / Mali (semis).
Senegal - Nigeria might be a game worthy of the final. |

Haha. Maybe na Agbonobare dem want safarigirl: Yes, but Nigerians always make the age jokes for him.
It doesn't matter who is in goal for Nigeria
You put Maduka, they say he is a fine boy
You put Uzoho, they say he is an old man
You put Akpeyi, they remind you of Algeria
Nigerians will continue to complain, irrespective of who is in goal for us. Even when it was Enyeama, dem go dey talk about Corners |

Uzoho is using his real age jor safarigirl: It is all because he has been getting praises from women, so, today, they just want to hate on him
They are calling it banter, but a lot of it is premeditated. If it was Uzoho, they will say it is because he faked his age
Nigerians kill me, I swear. |

The defense played a huge part. However. He stretched his leg to block Salah’s goal bound shot. Did he look confident in that game? Subzero047: It is ridiculous to give Maduka Okoye credit for rendering Salah barren, Ekong, Sanusi and Moses Simon worked so hard to restrict Salah from having a sniff at our goal that the only thing he mustered was a tame shot that hit Maduka's foot so the credit should be given to our defenders not Maduka |

We are probably in a weak group after all komekn: Watching now Egypt against Guinea Bissau one thing is very clear, Guinea Bissau better than Sudan not by a lot
They are giving Egypt a strong challenge they are a collection of very tall Iroko Trees very athletic and physical. Egypt are not able to use their technical ability to control the game completely .
It's still 0-0 |

Our bench can do the job, not meaning to underate Eq. Guinea. But we need every match possible to get better as a team. I would start with most of our starters. The knock out stage will be another ball game. We should take the next game as serious prep match. safarigirl: All this Okoye slander is only this loud because of that needless penalty Aina gave away
And they threatened us multiple times, he was up to the task. There was even one clean Corner they took that he rose above everyone else to catch the ball....
Anyway, I am not taking Okoye slander seriously today. Make we see Uzoho next game abeg. |

Let’s not forget Salah is still barren because of Okoye. He looked very composed against Egypt though Subzero047: I fear if Uzoho replaces Okoye it's game over for Okoye,Rohr's bias has been what kept Okoye between our sticks through many blunders |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:11pm On Jan 15, 2022 |
I would play Ebuehi and Aina as fullbacks. Nothing against Collins. At this point we are looking to improve the team going into the knockout stage. Don’t change the winning team much. They need more games to gel. Keep the CB pair of Omeruo and Ekong . Make most of the subs early in the second half. lloydtruth: Next match we should go with this lineup 1. Uzoho 2. Ehuehi 3. Collins 4. Onyeka 5. Awaziem 6. Ajayi 7. Olayinka 8. Nwakali 9. Awoniyi 10. Iwobi 11. Onyekuru |

We played differently in the second half. He should have kept Awoniyi longer. Musa sub in was needless. Curtisaxel10: Maybe Eguavoen should consider being less predictable with his tactics. I mean, i know he has had little time to inculcate different tactics to his team but why keep playing the same damn way even when your opponents have gotten wise to it and have checkmated it?
After that lackluster display for much of the first half, i expected a tactical switch but no. Baba continued with the same old. At this point, Eguavoen tactics have become about as predictable as direction from which the sun will rise tomorrow. How long before he comes up against a decent tactician that will capitalize on this? Sudan nearly did it today. Abeg o |

Your second paragraph, I noticed that in the first half. The subs was to change the tactics. TheSuperNerd: At first bolded.... you are wrong. They made the wrong choice and lost the ball too many times. We could always recycle and rebuild through other channels. There was no way the Sudanese were gonna keep us out all game. We needed to be patient in our buildups to open them up even more. But we rushed it and rushed away out of possession countless times in that first half.
Our goals came from a throw-in Oga, a freekick Oga and a third from the left side thru Awo and Simon combo. So how did the tight space passes that were majorly unsuccessful pay off please?
Egbon, admit it. We were not tidy in our possession in that first half. We lost the ball a lot. This is not about Nwakali now.. This is about us playing better going forward. |

Uzoho after playing in the World Cup I expect to handle the pressure better, not to say he is better than Okoye. Barrister026: I have a question to ask
APART FROM OKOYE don't we have a better Goal keeper?
Abi hu na nor watch the match?
That guy is tensed whenever the opponents attacks.
Even the commentator made mention of it.
If we are going to go far in this tournament.
OKOYE needs to be replaced.
Because if we meet cameron or senegal na Goals we go just dey pack left and right. Once they penetrate our defense
Why.
Because the goal keeper is still inexperience.
When watch OKOYE in the pitch I see a kid who still needs massive tutoring before putting him as our number 1
I don talk my own.
You all are ignoring.
The day we go collect!!!!
Na that day hu na go start to cry.
Just take a look at the penalty
Dude is the definition of an amateur.

Comrades cool down. Eguavoen wanted to see Nwakali more today. We will know if he played to instruction today going forward in the tournament. Personally I thought we had better control of the midfield in the second half. I had wanted Iwobi to come in early and Eguavoen did just that. I was very impressed with Iwobi in particular.
Sadiq on his part has not played like he deserves more game time.
I am not impressed with Zaidu’s attack game. He does a decent job defensively. I am curious what Ebuehi can bring both attack and defense wise.
Really I think it’s time for Musa to rest.
I am happy that we were not excellent today, so Eguavoen knows he still has a lot of work to do.
So far I would say the hosts and cup holders are the teams to watch. Forget Algeria started slowly. As long as Nigeria keeps getting better we can go all the way. But I want to reiterate we miss Osimhen. |
