7.0 overall is an average rating. He was slightly above average overall. But we can go to the various aspects of the rating to see his strengths/weaknesses. This is all solely stats. I will have to watch the replay to have a better take
Edopesin:
So what's up with the hype cheesy ... Is this really it?

Lmao I hope he improves on it

His stats is good for 90mins. I’m driving now making these posts. Let me get home. Will break it down as soon as I get the time
sheyishemba:
Nwakalidihno is actually coming up
Losing possession 9 times in a game as a AMF can be devasting for a counter attacking team
No shot on target huh undecided it is well

You can always count on me to say it as it is. No sentiments. People’s one sided views of a player will not make me dislike the player. Today Osimhen deserves his valuation after his exploits in Ligue 1.

Tamunotonye22:
I love your point of, very direct and positive. I also expect him to do so, the Serie A is now active like the early 20s and the influx of attackers shows that they are about to take over. I remember when their were lots of Nigerians in the top clubs of series A, big step for osimhen and this should also be a challenge to the others who think playing in the Dutch league or Latvian league should be praised.

Hopefully he does. But on the papers or football news online, na only praises I dey see. You know how Niaja journalists be. When you do your own checks, you see a different picture.
maidaboi:
if he see his praises he will surely see his critics
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 9:34pm On Jul 20, 2020
Yes, he has more battles to fight. for this one, He still needs to impress badly. Next season many things could still happen.
komekn:
Managers make up their mind up about players very quickly.

Then you have an uphill task to prove that your good enough. Remember that saying about "First impressions last"

Go and look at the squad of Huesca and look.at how many are loan moves from all over the place, it looks half or more of the team are loan moves. Then the next group are free transfers and then a few are actually bought.

Club no get money.

They will get a lot more players in for La Liga what they have will see them relegated immediately.

So he is going to have more competition in midfield with much needed players coming in. How will he survive better quality competition.

Time will tell.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 9:30pm On Jul 20, 2020
I really hope Nwakali doesn't read the praises he gets from the Nigerian media even when he had average or even below par game.
he doesn't need that at all. It won't help his career. I am not at home now, but I thought I would be able to catch a glimpse of the ongoing game online. I will make sure to watch the replay.

modified
He seems to be growing into the game from his current stats.

Tamunotonye22:
Y'all can't wait to attack the man, Lol, I'm pretty sure y'all also hate to see an SE player being criticised. Criticism should trigger them to play better and that's exactly what nwakali needs rn

SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 9:24pm On Jul 20, 2020
Well, some will end up average, never reaching that potential we saw in them. Some will amount to nothing, and a VERY few will reach it.

komekn:
THANK YOU

I actually thought that Rabiu was going to be the next JJay.

But he faltered badly at every opportunity From Porto to PSV to Celtic to Kilmarnock and l have lost count.

Finally, when you see him now he is 29 but looks 40. He is in an obscure leagues, at least he is getting paid.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 9:22pm On Jul 20, 2020
Osimhen always wanted a guarantee that he would be the main CF. Napoli went for him as their main man. But should they go for a back up, Osimhen will always have to show he is better. Competition is what will keep him on his toes to ensure he always get the starting spot. But if he goes barren after a run of games, even a few games, I expect Napoli fans to become impatient especially considering the anxiety his transfer brought to them. However, I EXPECT Victor to hit the ground running immediately.

Tamunotonye22:
you be funny guy o, I just hope Napoli doesn't buy jovic that's all I'm saying because it doesn't look like they play two CFs
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 9:15pm On Jul 20, 2020
This is significant. He needs to prove that he deserves to start when they start to compete in LaLiga. The battle starts here. He has a lot to prove.

komekn:
Starting in a match that has no significance so insignificant players are brought in, just like Nwakali.

While I agree with your argument that those that have fallen off the radar playing wise should not get mentions over those with better performances, I don't agree that they should be forgotten totally. They are worthy of mention when necessary. But the fact should be stated clearly, by not judging them based on the potential they once showed. If they are really as good as the potential they once had it would show on the pitch, they will get game time and they would stand out. Until then, we should only speak of them in the context of if they will ever reach the potential they once showed they had.

komekn:
You are confusing yourself.

He is so good why is he not playing for Porto, why is he on loan all the time.

He played in French league one and he was so outstanding that nobody valued him enough to buy him. Nobody even asked for a loan.

Then he faced the big express to Turkey not even the top teams.

He has played in La Liga but he has been relegated a reflection of his ability.

How many La Liga teams are fighting for his signature, because he is so outstanding.

I can imagine him on the flight back to Turkey very soon.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 9:03pm On Jul 20, 2020
It can go either way. Look at Ramon Azeez. He's still very much around, although at a point it seemed he will not amount to anything. Even Rabiu Ibrahim is not down and out. It seems an average of 3 players always come out good from all of our U17 sides that make it to the finals of the U17 WC. Maybe we will see an improvement of that number for our U17 set of 2013 and beyond. Make we dey look am. But the truth is U17 is nothing but youth football. Even the greatest talent at that level may never reach his supposed potential.

IDENNAA:
I get the career span thing but the inability for a young talent to hit the ground running can be ascribed to many factors. Nevertheless, it doesn't spell the end of their careers. These guys still has a lot to offer, full stop.

Lol.. Igbekeme is out injured. What matters most for whoever gets promotion is that they make their mark in La Liga. I hope K. Nwakali does. If he doesn't, where else will he... ? Igbekeme, however, has had a considerable amount of minutes under his belt at the lower league. He is just waiting to step up.

Ed Dove of Goal ranks the greatest Nigerians to play in the Serie A.

1. Nwankwo Kanu
2. Taribo West
3. Sunday Oliseh
4. Taye Taiwo
5. Obafemi Martins
6. Victor Moses
7. Odion Ighalo

Do you agree?
