I think first you have to look at your "best" players and see how they can work as a team, also considering your playing philosophy. That's what our national team coaches have been doing. Not playing them in the positions they play in their clubs which is relative the club's team chemistry/formations and their coaches' playing philosophy. QueenJazz: You see that part in yellow marker? That's the part I've not been able to solve in my head for the past couple years. Maybe I've missed something but I really want to know what goes on in the head of coaching staff during our international outings. I really want to know how difficult it is to play a player according to his strengths and proven track record in a particular position. It's hard sometimes to imagine that we hate ourselves this much to self-sabotage our own efforts with the most insane and ridiculous decisions. |

5 and 3 na big difference o. NFF needs overhaul Mujtahida: Almost as many times as SE. From 2019 till now they've had 3 coaches. SE five. |

I go like change the mentality for NFF first, then others go arrange themselves. How many times SF don change coach? Mujtahida: Hope dey, hope dey, to qualify. That's the song on repeat. Hope dey yet we bottled our lead against Zimbabwe and drew SA with serious struggle.
Thing is that these players lack self belief and aggression.
The old eagles, always fought hard until the last blast of the whistle even in marches they lost.
We remember Taribo (it was said that he hated losing) playing with a blood soaked bandage on his head, bleeding his heart out in our match at the world cup 2002. We remember him weeping profusely when we eventually lost.
In those days, even if Nigeria is losing 4-0, we the fans will still be pumped up with hope and anticipation that we can turn the tide. In fact we were more dangerous after conceding.
Afcon 2000, we fought hard and came back from a 2 goal deficit. In 2004, we fought hard, came back from a goal deficit and broke the jinx of Cameroon.
Today it is only the Falcons who embody that unyielding warrior spirit. Super Eagles have lost it. If they are winning, we go dey fear. If they concede, we go just give up because we know they don't have it in them to fight.
Sometimes it's not tactics. It's mentality, a winning mentality. Sadly our team doesn't have it. That's why I am now indifferent regarding our world cup hopes. I still pray they qualify sha. |

gbamatically said QueenJazz: Even if those points are docked by FIFA, then what? At this stage, how does it benefit us? Are we seriously expecting South Africa to lose to either Rwanda or Zimbabwe?
This 3-point deduction stuff was more interesting when we hadn't played SA yet and there was a chance we would actually win all out remaining matches. Right now I find it hard to be excited about it. Should they deduct it? Obviously yes, if they don't want to appear shady and commit robbery in broad daylight. But how does it affect us at this point? How does it salvage our position?
On an unrelated note, please who the heck is Abdullahi Shitu that is supposedly from Man City playing for us in the upcoming U-20 world cup? Never heard of him. Plus, he's non-existent on Google apart from recent news reports of the Flying Eagles list. Which Man City is he playing for? Is it the one in England or somewhere else? |

SA will finish the job.. make una leave matter. I'm not overrating them but they just played against a very determined/desperate Super Eagles. caprikon: There could be a possible twist here.
Benin could sneak in when SA get their points deducted and SA might be the ones slugging it out in the playoffs.
This group is still a very open one. |

Our chances of qualifying as best runner up is by far slimmer than direct qualification, when we hadn't played South Africa. Look that runner up table well well. Even if we win our remaining two games e go still hard. |

We need to stop blaming coaches and players and referees for once. The problem is at the NFF |

You can only have one winner in an AFCON. So it's excusable. But we can't boast of being in the top 10 to qualify for World Cup is not excusable especially when it's back to back. We need an overhaul of the NFF. IF ONLY NIGERIANS WILL SHOUT THEM TO RESIGN. |

I want to withdraw my comment and say i'm very okay with the line up.
Dessers is a very good link up man upwards. he may gel well with Lookman. But I would have been a bit cautious in our midfield, Onyedika instead of Fisayo. Fisayo and Tolu as supersubs. |

okay this makes more sense. Now I see why.. I thought he moved Bassey to LB BankyGee: Structural Xi for Nigeria 🇳🇬

If I could tell our players one thing. It is to play for pride in South Africa.
Yes we must win, but that should not be the focus else it would add so much pressure on us. Playing for pride puts us at a better position psychologically to get the win we need. Go show them we are Nigeria. |

this one go need several "else if" statement o owbabs: The equation is simple
if (Nigeria.beats(SouthAfrica) == TRUE) { Result = "Qualify"; } else { Result = "Eliminated"; } |

well, I give bruno kudos for that. BankyGee: The secondary is like the pre-assist? If it's that one, it's Bruno Onyemaechi.
Aina's wasn't counted as an assist seff be like e hit Rwandan player before Tolu smack am in. |

lol I'd rather have an Osimhen when they plan for him than otherwise. Ppogbae: SA will be confused at this point. I am certain that their game plan was focused on a Nigerian attack that was hinged on Osimhen. |

The bad is that SA is playing to avoid a loss. So if they decide they want to play for a draw they will be okay. We are the ones under big pressure kennysville: I doubt they will attack. They probably will be content keeping the possession. The pressure is still very much on the Super Eagles. We are still trailing by 6 points |
