haha.. which one be use and dump?? Make Rohr call Ejide and see if he no go run come.. lol Somebody who played second fiddle to Enyeama for a long spell will be so glad to don the GWG again before he retires.. my sister talk another thing safarigirl: if you were related to him, you wouldn't be considering him. You would not want him to be used and dumped, an after-thought for most of his international career. A stop gap measure |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 9:45pm On Aug 18, 2019 |
no that's a stop gap measure hoping the younger goalies will step up to the plate competing with a more experienced keeper. See, I am considering the positives not sentimentally calling for Ejide, it's not like I'm related to him. safarigirl: a last resort measure is recalling a 35-year old goalie that has been out of the national team for 5 years. That's certainly the last resort |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 9:33pm On Aug 18, 2019 |
What we have here is as result of a poor football development program. Calling academy keepers to the SE is not a solution but a last resort measure safarigirl: if football was restricted to here and now, there would be no academies.
Na so we do here and now, when Enyeama retired, we had to scramble for a goalie, thankfully, Ikeme came to us and we were stable for a short time. We got comfortable in the 'here and now' once again, next thing, Ikeme sick, and that is how we finally got here now.
Football is beyond here and now. It is setting a structure for the future, so that when it comes, you aren't left high and dry. If you have to sacrifice your today, for a better tomorrow, then, sacrifice you must.
On top here and now, we don dey find Mikel replacement, make I no even talk Okocha, shebi if we had brought in players then, we no for dey do shotgun shopping.
This is 2019, football is not just here and now |

Of course I’m not expecting he will be considered. However, that doesn’t stop me from stating the obvious. There is no guarantee these young keepers will be great in a couple years from now. Football is here and now. Who is the best now? Then the question, will they get better ?? safarigirl: like I said, if he was not considered when we were in a true crisis, after Ikeme fell ill and we had World Cup and AFCON ahead of us, he is not likely to be considered now that we are done with those tournaments |

You never know some of the young keepers we have may be familiar with Ejide and they may look up to him in the process. It can actually go either way. It’s not like I think NFF or Rohr will look his way. I’m just stating the fact that it’s not out of place to invite him considering our current predicament . safarigirl: No, not by age, by time spent together
I don't know what logic to use, but the best I can find is when an older student joins a class. He's old first of all, the others have been together for years, they are of the same age bracket, so, they have things in common. The older new student will not blend in with the rest, now, in a school, you can just keep your head down and block the kids, but in football, you have to play with these kids and bond with them.
Bonding is easier among people of similar ages and periods. Ejide debuted for the Super Eagles in 2001, for perspective, Maduka was months old on his debut, some others on the same team were less than 5-years old. This part is something a lot of people don't put into consideration, but it matters.
I am not saying Ejide should not be called up, I just don't know how effective it will turn out, considering the psychological angle. Till then sha, let us see what the kids can do, I can't imagine the officials have Ejide in mind anytime soon |

Opinions and counter opinions can be stated with mutual respect. Earthquake1: I see no problem inviting Ejide even if to fill the huge gap in our goalkeeping situation |

You don’t have to say it’s hidden if it exists. Go ahead and say it and you would be proven wrong. But if u must.. keep the discussion civil. Else I would ignore. TheSuperNerd: And I quoted you for a reason. You hate being told the obvious. Joebie and hidden sentiments. SMH...
Ejide... Worst suggestion I've heard so far on the GK role. |

Kai Safari. Chemistry on the pitch na by age now? safarigirl: Ejide will be flattered you think he's on El Haddry's level.
He will enter that team and instantly feel out of place, certainly the oldest guy on the team, even Mikel that came to the team years after his debut, has retired.....but that doesn't matter. Just throw him in and hope he forms a chemistry with the back four |

Sir I ignored u for a reason. You are the last person I want to go back and forth with. TheSuperNerd: Your logic are laced with hidden sentiments Joebie. Not all can read that. Ejide indeed.... Look, you must not find a logical solution to everything. It makes you no longer differentiate mediocrity from true talents.
First it was Ujah... Now I hear Ejide... Nothing I won't read on here in the name of building this new generation. Loolll... Funny... |

I wonder how long u have been on this thread. Most of the time it’s a case sentiments over logic here BARAJ92: The simple fact is, we don't have any goal keeper for now. The best we can do till we get a proper goal keeper is to do try and error even with the old keeper until we get a befitting retirement. No one is clamouring for old players in other positions because we have adequate replacement and better upgrade. |

of course he did not score. his stats were poor.. but he wasn't a flop. If only the stats were available we can make such deduction. But we have the luxury of watching EPL games. ChrisKels: Was that what it means to have a good game? When did he come in and how many shots did he register on goal, anyone on target, as a striker? |

This current Chelsea team is average, I am not down playing Tammy oo
Lampard is an English coach and will surely give abraham , tomori and co chances

Not the KC I know today. If he starts to get game time and does something, I will surely sing his praises as I did in the past when he was banging goals for us. I no like sentiments andrew44444: To be sincere bro Tammy has not done bad
And i don't see anything wrong in him being on the bench
Dude is in lampard plans, and thats a good thing.
Our best bet of forward to perform well against man u or liverpool is Iheanacho, i wont speak of the rest for now
Ighalo also, but he is no more with the eagles. |
