When Gozzi go talk say he no feel Nigerian una go dey start to vex. See how he has progressed through the ranks of Italian national teams. When Italy main team comes calling, it’s a wrap. A 17 year old playing 90 mins for Juve no be beans o.

That guy no go easy to get. But it’s worth trying

I have to see if he is left-footed. Any chance he could play as LB?

tbaba1234:
He played 90 minutes in Juventus 2:1 loss.

Cant we as well complain about the other boys that didn’t make the cut for the same reason?
If Omidiji had made the cut will u have said a word in defense of the others?

Oga! This is a national team and not private property. Distinguish the difference first before you make statement.

Paolo’s Rating against SPAL

Paolo Guzzi Iweru 5: For his first professional match, the young defender showed good qualities. Quick, physical and author of beautiful lifts, he was almost never endangered during the game. A convincing beginning!

Epistle... but u hit the nail on the head regardless.

Modified
As long as the players are performing they should be given a chance fight for a shirt.

forgiveness:
I am beginning to have a rethink. Chukwueze should be on the plane to AFCON and even start on the RW in every matches because he is currently the best Nigerian winger (RW) in the form of his life in the whole wide world as I write.

The Samuel Kalu who is suppose to play on that wing is currently not seeing game time in his club. In fact, he has not made 5 match day squad in their last 6 matches.

Are we going to the AFCON with an inform player (Samuel Kalu) who is not only currently warming bench but is not even considered for games?

In my humble opinion, if Samuel Kalu doesn't see games until the end of the season, and in addition, doesn't outshines Chukwueze, he should be replaced with Chukwueze direct and not even considered for a place in the squad.

We should also look for a player that can deputise for Chukwueze on the RW and I think Peter Olayinka is the best candidate for this. That's after seeing him in a friendly.

The fact that his club started him against Chelsea and he still went ahead to distinguished himself above all his team mates shows he deserves to be given a chance. At least this time around he is in form.

We saw what Paul Onuacha did when he was given the chance to prove himself.

Chukwueze might be our own Mbappe in this tournament. There's need to reward performance of players in other to encourage them to do better.

Bringing players not making match day squad over players doing better in a competitive league or tournament is a no no for me.

Mikel will walk into that team if he wants to.
BascoVanVeli:
It would be criminal to omit John Obi Mikel from that team.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 7:14pm On Apr 13, 2019
YES. Na age we dey use take marginalize am. All sentiments.

TheGoodJoe:
U20 is no way close to the seriousness of the National team. The standard I use for the senior team is the best quality of players we can assemble and Chukwueze is definitely among the best.

I doubt most of our wingers will keep him on the bench if Villarreal had the luxury of selecting our wingers to play against Barcelona will keep Chukwueze on the bench.

If Chukwueze is among the best we have, Rohr is doing the team a disservice dropping him.

Finito.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 7:08pm On Apr 13, 2019
Iwobi did just fine creating chances during the qualifiers. However, Mikel is still needed even as a CM. It’s Ndidi, Iwobi and Mikel. Etebo and Ajayi can be very good subs.

Modified
Is Eze better than Iwobi? Definitely Eze’s chance will come. He has not been as good as he was when the season started, but his name will definitely be on my lips as we prepare for life without Mikel soon.

Earthquake2:
Do you have any other option better than Mikel?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 7:05pm On Apr 13, 2019
But KC was invited and he was given a chance in the very first game. Garba dropped him subsequently for football reasons, clearly.

TheGoodJoe:
Manu Garba had every right to drop Nacho from that U20 team because he was not part of the qualifying players and he did not camp with the team.

Finito.

Anyone can err. But there is no record that he was unjust to a deserving player. Iheanacho was clearly one of our worst players on that day versus Brazil. When Simon had his chance in the last group game, did he show he was head and shoulders above the rest?

Modified
The so called next Nigerian Ronaldo, Theo Solomon that they said Manu didn’t give a chance, what has become of him in Europe over all these years? Manu Garba is the best U17 coach so far, and as long as he keeps on unearthing talents, he should remain.

forgiveness:
Manu can err. That's the point.

forgiveness:
He was not considered for the tournament not until the first choice goalkeeper failed MRI test. Do you understand now?

Iheanacho started in Nigeria’s very first match against Brazil. Unless you are particular about Simon. What is your case really??

forgiveness:
Manu was the U20 coach who benched Iheanacho, Simon etc despite being in form. Wasn't he?

Oh the AFCON! let’s wait and see
iSlayer2:
Nah. Not really.
The players,
The level of the teams,
The development,
The organization et al.
It's all improved now. It's not what was obtainable prior to this time.

The players on parade (from the big boys) are of better quality than previously. This is as a result of better organization at the top. There are more FBs in the teams (actual good players), which I daresay is beneficial to the growth of the game in Africa meantime.

I'll say something here, many don't know the ton of good this MRI is doing for the African game. Do you know how disastrous fielding overage players at cadet level is to football development? Do you know that's a big reason the African game is/was not growing? They play with kids at the cadet level then get out there and poof they're gone! They can't keep up. Hence, no continuity, no growth. Nothing. Because they're old men.

You see those under 18s/19s/21s leagues the Europeans have in place? Or something like having feeder teams playing in lower division league football? Very very important. Sadly, I don't know how feasible this will ever be across Africa. You need your young players playing regularly in a serious structured system (like those leagues). This system of bringing players from all around the place few months before tournaments is not the best. A good number of them are not playing serious football regularly. They can never be as good or sharp as those Europeans playing serious football regularly.

Recently, the system has just been fair enough. You can tell from the young African players who are making it into some good leagues and thriving.

So generally speaking this Afcon, talking about the quality (which I'm keenly interested in) should be better. I hope not to see too much drab football.

I dont wanna be a kill joy, buh I would advise u lot celebrating this draw to pipe low for now. Remember Rohr is the kinda coach that goes to tournaments to experiment, rather than participate, on the false pretense that "my team is young and this is just a learning curve for them". Brace up for more excuses in Egypt. He did it Russia.
