Apart from work permit issues you forgot age related issues. Are you looking forward or backwards? Are you a confusionist in disguise? Or a paid poster?

So why the mention of Enyeama? You didn't need to chip that in. No need for irrelevant name calling. Enyeama is in Lille B. Competing in the 4th tierhuh
Be a fan.

komekn:
The crux of the matter, when the desirable is not available, the available becomes desirable.

If Enyeama was active we simply will not be having this discussion.

They are different people with interests that conincidentally align.
There is a chance that if SE is full of England based players, they will both get their way at least 70% of the time.

They are only SE fans when the composition of the team supports their ideologies. I'm just trying to be civil here lol

Modified
From my observation of forgiveness, in my estimation I think in real life he is that "Federal character" kind of guy.

Komekn clearly thinks England should be the benchmark for everything.

Farzat:
I doubt that Komekn is a different person from Forgiveness. I took time to read their messages, they have one common interest no matter how much they try to cover it. The tone of their messages and argument is the same. Always on opposition side of every single topic. Always expressing a mindset of insecurity and inferiority complex. Always presenting statistics to pull one player down in promotion of another. Always responding to every comment with questions like " where did u hear me say.....? Answer me this that YES or NO? All these similarities cant be coincidence. But it will be a big shame if its actually one person that is misusing his talent and time to cause nuisance on this beautiful thread.
We should not over emphasize on the importance of comments on nairaland. If Rohr have time to read all these comments, l can bet u that he can never be successful (Those that make news dont really have time to read news)
We have a foreign coach that is giving us good results, lets all support this team and enjoy it while it lasts. If d sentiment of not having your favourite player overshadows d joy of d team victories, what will happen when d team looses?
Taking some issues personal, arguing from morning till night and starting all over again tomorrow might indirectly affect our reasoning and emotional life for nothing. Too much of anything is bad.
Happy new week to everyone.

Hypocrites, pretender, corrupt, bigot, tribalist - these are some of the words you often pin on people but I'm not deceived. You are merely projecting your own negative attributes.

Asking a question I've already answered.

Sone Aluko career dive nosed because he choosed to play for Nigeria else e for don dey big club if he choosed England.

Which player is par or better than Sone Aluko, playing in the same SS/RW position?

Lol @ skunk butt
U must know how it tastes to suggest it
Hahaha
COOL10:
I finally watched the match this morning and I must say that I was impressed. I still am cheesy. It could have been worse. About Joel,it's now so obvious that he's proven he deserves a place in the WC bound team. At least if not for anything, for his determination. Despite his seemingly unending fight against injuries,he was one of the boldest if not the boldest and fearless SE player on the pitch. That deserves an applause. U needed to have felt my fast paced heartbeats everytime he fell to the ground grin. I would prefer though, for him to be played in a more attacking form. Maybe an AMF so as to see that side of him more cos we definitely lacked those cutting edge passes. Well, that's why Mikel is Mikel. No one can replace him. We can only get a good enough or even better substitute but to replace him? Impossible. The time no even dey sef.

Ebuehi needs to start abeg. Shehu messed up yesterday with the defense(most of the time but made an incredible 2nd half block in the box). Victor Moses' new role at CHE also helped us as he sometimes covered up for Shehu in the first half,so that's a good thing. Bryan was definitely better than Echiejile. No doubt. I want to see Aina come in for Ebuehi as a RB against Serbia. Let Shehu rest small and let's see what Aina can do in his natural position.

All in all,it was a good game. I'm happy. Poland weren't so friendly after all. Not even a usual 'sorry' to our players after a bad tackle. But who cares? We beat them in their backyard in front of a 42k filled stadium in which 98% were white. I could only count about 4 Nigerians excluding the NFF so yes it was a big victory cheesy. Anyone who believes otherwise can kiss a skunk's butt for all I care.

Yes there is a greater chance that you are right just as there is a greater chance Rohr will not be inviting NEW players for the final friendlies
Mujtahida:
Joebie let's be realistic: Aluko is not on Rohr's radar. I don't have anything against him as a player or as a person. But if you look at Rohr you'd know his direction. That's why I find this constant call for Aluko irksome. It's like hitting ones head on a brickwall. Generally now- beyond the question of Aluko- anybody who moves forward will have no problem with Rohr's selection but anybody stuck in the past is on his own
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:57pm On Mar 24, 2018
Is Nwakali an assist king? Don't use double standards here. Are we talking about a rookie slot? What actually?

Humility017:
I don't really see aluko as assist king...
but nwakali is someone who has got the potentials...he should be invited to come train wit the team
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:46pm On Mar 24, 2018
If we are considering inviting new AMs I'd definitely support the call for Aluko over Kelechi Nwakali. Nwakali plays in the second tier. And he's not even been voted one of the best yet. Aluko is proven in SE colors, and still a super regular in another second tier.

komekn:
Do you know what you are sayinghuh Aluko chose to play in the Championship and has been voted best midfielder.

Followed the money and went to Reading who got to the play offs last season and narrowly missed promotion to the EPL. However, this season Reading are completely off the boil.

Which AM do we have currently that is better than him that's not already in the SE set up.

Youre attempt at mockery to rubbish the suggestion is either prejudice or a lack of knowledge on your part.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:44pm On Mar 24, 2018
Aluko over K. Nwakali.

Humility017:
I do much agree with the bolded...

SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:34pm On Mar 24, 2018
Even those players will firstly, have to be invited, prove themselves in camp, and also prove themselves in an actual test game. We are racing against time. Consider Onyekuru's stint with SE. Those players can't stamp their authority overnight. Ebuehi had been training with SE for quite a while before he got his chance and took it. Think Aina also. We still have the likes of Agbo still waiting...

Daejoyoung:
We have Aluko, and what of Kingsley Sokari? even Nosa lgiebor has been completely forgotten.
To strengthen the team, we don't need an Agu since we have so many good players in his position. We need a Samuel Kalu, Sone Aluko, Ajiboye(Aiyenugba) and a fit Onyekuru , and we are set for the world cup.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:29pm On Mar 24, 2018
I think Onazi will do fine as an AM as well. It depends, Joel may be instructed to do more going forward. He is very confident with the ball. I've always believed he is one example of a versatile midfielder.

MetalJigsaw:
Then we should get ready to behold one again another midfield problem. A team with an empty midfield
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:25pm On Mar 24, 2018
You are right. Shehu had a few bad moments. But he matched his opponent stength for strength. Overall he didn't have a bad game yesterday. But Ebuehi oh Ebuehi!
EEGA:
A big Congrats to the team.Winning a lewandowski led poland is not an easy feat.

My Observations:
Brian did well but
does not get involved in Wing plays,he is not a ball playing WB and is too defensive minded. He is the reason for our weak left side. We need to give Aina another chance.

Shehu did well in the RB position but Ebuehi is still ahead of him anytime, any day.

lol it's not like we are are against Aluko's call. But it's when they cry foul play and corruption because he is not included that is baffling. It's not like he is NOTICEABLY ahead or at par with the players we have now.

Exactly my earlier opinion but in rich detail. Good job Solace!

Geestunnar:
Can Francis Uzoho shoulder Nigeria's World Cup ambition?

It is scant consolation, but there is some comfort in the knowledge that every national team has a weakness. Unlike club football, with its billionaire oligarchs and rampant avarice, in international football, God or fate or genetics (take your pick) deals you a hand, and you have to roll with it.
Well, it's consolation for the opponent, of course. Not so much for the team in consideration, so tantalizingly short of a full house. There is, as such, a tendency to magnify this flaw, in the same way a pimple seems to draw the eye, and fingers.
This perfectly explains the borderline hysteria around the uncertainty of Nigeria 's goalkeeping situation. By no means is the national team overflowing with world-class talent, but whereas the youngest average age of all the World Cup teams imbues a sense of hope and potential, there is no such comfort between the sticks.
There is young Francis Uzoho , though. Still only 19, he has a modest career in the Spanish third tier as credential, and in his favour, the trust of the Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr.
That latter has ensured the former consideration has not adversely affected his chances, and on Friday he started in goal for Nigeria for the first time.

Given the peculiarity of his situation, as well as Rohr's, it was imperative that the German tactician reach a decision quickly regarding his preference, and also back his horse, as it were. Ikechukwu Ezenwa, incumbent in the position for much of qualifying, had yet to convincingly stake his claim, and has played one game this year for club side Enyimba.
It appears now that Rohr has shown his hand. The early signs are decidedly mixed. There were bloopers, shaky handling, and instances of weak kicking. Twice, he was completely at sea on set-piece deliveries, one of which resulted in what might have been the opener, had the referee's assistant realized the ball had crossed the line.
Then, in the second half, there was a calm, and greater authority in his decisions. He seemed more relaxed in his area, more in-control.
This pattern, considering the context, was to be expected. Making his full debut in the packed Stadion Miejski, nerves were not only understandable, but inevitable.
The greater testament was his growth through the duration, adjusting to the demands of the game as time went on. By the time he pulled off a big save one-on-one from Robert Lewandowski, his confidence was brimming.
It is imperative now that he starts again on Tuesday against Serbia in London, not least because this represents the baseline being raised in a sense. Building on this new level of confidence is surely the best way to get Uzoho where he needs to be for the World Cup.
He is not the finished article, by any stretch of the imagination. However, it is time to look reality dead in the eye: Vincent Enyeama has torpedoed, once for all time, the idea of a return, and Ezenwa isn't any more reliable.
There will be no perfect goalkeeper springing fully-formed from the sea, no Nigerian Gianluigi Buffon appearing out of nowhere like a foundling carved out of onyx.
What we do have is a collection of middling options, with which we have to make do.
We must accept that there will necessarily be mistakes, and work both with and around that.
Uzoho showed, in that second half at least, that he is up to the challenge.
How the technical crew handles it from here on out will be key in determining whether or not he rises to the occasion when the Super Eagles kick off against Croatia in June.

I would attribute his shaky first half to the fact that he faced a home crowd of that magnitude maybe for the first time.
The commentator's statement towards the end of the game says it all about his performance:

". Nigeria has found a decent goalkeeper in this young man"

I hope he gets another full game against Serbia.

No, these players want to be identified as Nigerians from their actions. That's the point. So they are Nigerians.

Modified
And they have equal rights to Nigeria as every Nigerian born in Nigeria.

Mujtahida:
Joebie the point is clear na. They are Nigerians. They are Europeans. If I choose to call them any one of this identities it doesn't nullify the other. But then Sir joseph1013 maybe in context of their position with us Joebie feels the Nigerian part overshadows or should overshadow all other identities.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 5:50pm On Mar 24, 2018
What false dichotomy?

I never said they were half Nigerian, half European. I only asked you on what ground are they European? I made it clear, "they are Nigerians. Period"

joseph1013:
You're pulling an unnecessary fallacy called fallacy of false dichotomy here.

That you're an European does not mean you cannot be a Nigerian. It is not an either/or proposition.

Why are you making a big fuss about this?

This will be my last comment on the matter.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 2:13pm On Mar 24, 2018
Using your own logic. Since they have a European passport as well as a Nigerian passport, why do you call them Europeans? Expatiate please.
joseph1013:
What would you rather they do with their European passports?

Looks like you're reading your own meaning to my otherwise positive contribution.

You're responsible for whatever racist undertone you interpret my statement.

Martz101:

Why are we entertaining this? A player has a Nigerian last name. identifies with Nigeria. Chooses to play for Nigeria, has Nigerian roots and a Nigerian passport and we still call them Europeans?
