To be sincere, if we were to give 4 slots to each position, I think all the players deserve to be there based on what we have available. There are still some slots to spare.. Not to say the players are all that good. Humility017: yeah I understand.... just that I would have love it more...if you were frank and more sincere in respective of whose ass is goared.. |

He wasn't impressive in the EPL by level standards. It's just like making excuses for Iheanacho now. I know you wouldn't do that.. Like I said I don't think Rohr's radar is in the Championship. Just my feeling though. komekn: He Aluko was impressive on Hull for a essentially a kick and rush team. Was voted as one of the best players in the championship. Fulham narrowly missed out on promotion. He went to Reading for £ 7.5 million that's a big price tag for a 28 year old.
Onomah has played more games for Tottenham than Aina has played for Chelsea. In front of Onomah are World class midfielders such as Wanyama, Sissoko, Dembele, Dier, Lamela, Eriksen, etc
Onomah has played nearly all games this season for Villa where he is on loan scoring twice. Very effective and disciplined midfielder with great vision and and a good passing ability. He is the anchor man for Englands U21. Even scored a wonder goal for England. |

that's why I used the word encompassing. No matter how hard I try, somebody's player will still be missing.. So it's impossible to please everybody. Just trying to fault the pool idea.. Humility017: you tried...but I see you putting in some players just to please some persons here.... you and I know...some of those players you put their names up there won't smell SE invitation let alone make the world cup provisional list. |

TheGoodJoe talking about Rohr inviting a pool of players for camping before the world cup.. Who to invite is still a problem o.. I've tried to put together an encompassing pool. I know somebody will still complain his player is missing.. That kind arrangement go cause confusion for camp hahaha

Norwich tried hard to have him return before this current season, but he turned them down for Ipswich. komekn: It's a strange one really, I met one of the agents heavily involved at Norwich and they didn't rate him that much. They did say he was studying for his degree and in the end he was released at Norwich.
Now he is playing for a very A typical English Manager at Ipswich where technical football is not on the main menu.
I will because of you and my desire to see Dominic Iorfa see both of them live in the coming weeks. |

I was replying to your earlier mention of Onomah and co. I was just saying Aluko is older, and as regards the likes of Onomah, how many youngy we wan carry go world cup? Realistically, I don't think half of them can dislodge current SE players.. but well let's not have another round of argument on that. Back to Aluko, he wasn't impressive in the EPL, but I agree he gave a good account of himself in SE colors. If he's not got a recall, it's simply because I thin Rohr does not consider the Championship as a top league. How many players has he gone for in the Championship? Aina's case is different. We all know he had a couple games for Chelsea before he was loaned. komekn: Aluko is not that Old, 28 is not old and it's not just football age. If to say dem born am for Warri he would be only 22/23 No shakin.
Arguably one of the most technically gifted players in the championship. Who did not play ball with NFF officials and a particular very hungry coach that's why he was shamelessly frozen out when he was playing for Hull in the EPL.
Why do you think he has not been invited, who is actually proven, tested and better. |

Those 4 players you mentioned are very different from each other . MODIFIED sorry for the multiple posts Mickael2: I see wisdom in your post. Uche's style of play as a 9 is essential the same with Nacho's style of play, Ighalo's style and Tammy's style are almost the same too. So invite all four to camp, check which one of them is the best from each style using some friendly games and training sessions, choose the best from each style and from the remaining two decide who is best suited for the final spot in the team and we are good to go |

I must admit, after watching Abraham's 26 goals from last term, and his 4 goals so far in the Premier League, he is more of a poacher --something the Super Eagles is lacking. And I can't find any player home or abroad with his poaching instincts. He can definitely bring something to the team. As regards the others, yes let Rohr decide. These are young guys (excluding Aluko) so when I think of them, I think beyond Russia. So why not just make the move now for the future? How about Tom Adeyemi the CMF? His stats not too impressive, but his video clips tells more. Have you seen him play? komekn: There is something we don’t talk about that much essentially because most people do not know.
What was the nature, substance, timing of the approach, who did the approach and where was it done.
We have a very good bunch of top Nigerian players in the England U21.
We assume that they refused. In many instances a proper approach was not made.
Right now we have 4/5 players who should be invited to camp and then let Rohr decide.
Dominic Iorfa Seyi Ojo Tega Onomah Sone Aluko Fred Onyedinma
For me Tega Abrahams is no longer a prospective player but a proven tested and confirmed No.9 now the hottest young striker in the premiership. That's why he is not in the list above. He brings immediate quality to the SE.
I could add that all five in my list bring definite quality that is proven and tested as well. But how much we do not know until they play a few friendlies and we see them in camp. |

He made the drop with Almeria. Bad agent at work. Usually, he should have been retained by another La Liga side. Mickael2: the guy has been very good which is why when theGoodJoe said he isn't fast I was left confused, the same Azeez that plays for Lugo? The guy has a nice passing range, he isn't the most flashy but he does his work with diligence. I think the problem we have and it will take us years and years for it to go away is that we don't have computerized way of keeping records. In fact almost all health institutions in NIGERIA have refused to embrace the technology of keeping records. I remember going to a National hospital in Abuja the other day, and a patient will have to move from one office to another within the hospital before you finally get to the queue to be seen by a doctor. In this age? it's crazy. Forge affidavit of age declaration is so common. I wonder why everybody seem to have lost their original birth certificates. I still have mine till this day. Corruption is now our culture.. Although I believe some Nigerians are not corrupt, but even the masses partake in corruption like it is the only way to get by. The situation is just pathetic. Kog45: When we are saying let go back to d old day doesn't mean go back to d old system.
But let have a modern day plan for our young ones with youth programs like Principal cup,YSFON, NIPOGA,NUGA instead of focusing on local league for our under age national team. |

Would love to see him play against Algeria. PROVERBZ: My first time of watching onyekuru play from starting to end
What I noticed The guy is fast could have scored earlier in the game but his header was saved by the PSG keeper the way he sneaked into the defence to take the header very fast
No 2 he should keep a calm head I noticed after he teases dani alves with a brilliant skill alves was looking to provoke him and he succeeded when he pushed onyekuru and onyekuru pushed him back in the process getting a yellow card
3rdly the guy knows how to calm the game down and play connecting passes something the while team lacked as they where always in a hurry and where easily dispossessed
And lastly he is not going to develope by staying in Anderlecht he should return to Everton his team mates are shiiiiii. The only players who knew what they where doing where the Ghanaian guy mensah ,onyekuru and one Bruno who is on loan from Leipzig only den for me |

when people say let's go back to the days, I start to wonder, when countries are moving forward. If we want to develop football from the grassroots let's learn from those who got it right over the years and possibly improve on it -- why not? Like i said before, it would take sincerity and integrity to accomplish this. Our pursuit of abroad-bred players is a different kettle of fish. Smart countries get the best talents wherever and whenever they can. goldfish80: Corruption everywhere. Grassroot football is not spared, corruption is a scurge we can't help but live with in naij. One academy like that went for a competition outside their state . I think they lost in the group stages of the tournament, you know what their manager did? He simply walked into a sports shop and bought a trophy to show the club financier.. Lol |

SUPER EAGLES IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Everton Loanee Onyekuru Shines, Flattens Dani Alves In Anderlecht’s Loss To PSGOctober 18, 201706 https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/659x460-fenerin-b-plani-onyekuru-1482525523407.jpgNigerian forward Henry Onyekuru had a very lively game for Anderlecht despite his team suffering a 0-4 drubbing in the hands of French giants PSG in the third round of games in the UEFA Champions League. Onyekuru was on from the start against the club where he had medicals before deciding against a move to the club in favour of a transfer to Everton two months ago. On loan to Anderlecht for the rest of the season, the 20 year old showed his class against PSG Brazilian right back Dani Alves, who struggled to cope with the pace, tricks and power of the Nigerian. Playing from the left side of attack, Onyekuru who scored 24 goals last season for modest Belgium side Eupen proved to be a very tough nut to handle for the defence of PSG particularly Alves. Alves who is known for his traditional runs from defence to attack was kept in check by the Nigerian who went past him with ease and even came close to scoring but his effort came off the bar. Its not unusual to find schools employing the services of "mechey" to prosecute Inter school tournaments. Corruption has eaten deep into the fabrics of Nigeria. 99% of games masters in primary schools outsource for mechenaries at that level.
If forced, I can name a popular ex youth international who played as mecheneary for various secondary schools more then 6 -7 years after he wrote WAEC. |

just wanted to be sure, because stats don't tell the whole story. Some experience could come handy at the word cup though. We can't bank totally on these lads. junnyjake: Onyekuru was arguably the best player or Anderlecht today, that's not me exaggerating.
His touches were clean, he's learning how to bring his teammates into the game, not like last season when he was tagged as being selfish.
He knows when to release the ball and when to dribble.
He could have scored a goal or 2 today, so unlucky the one he should have scored hit the cross-bar. |
