Salute oh! All those players, where their children? Kog45: Yea most of them went to United States, Canada on scholarships to further their education, players like Waidi Akanni,Taju Dish,Dehinde Akinlotan,Bawa Abdullahi, Niyi Aderinoku(obodo)now a multi millionaire, Austin IgbinabairoJonathan Akpoborie,Okechuckwu OfojeAndrew Uwe was in OAU playing for Leventis United and 1985 U20.
I remember Jonathan Akpoborie was part of 85 U17 he came to sport festival too, after that he went Boston university in d states on scholarship and moved from Boston after graduation to Germany, d samething Mike Emenalo after graduating from one of d university in USA,he went to Belgium and started pro career.
Honestly then it was football and education,I always give respect to Akpoborie and Emenalo coz is not easy leaving football for education and still come back to that football as a professional at d top level. |

New coach but which coach it could literally be out of the frying pan into the fire.
What if they get Sam Allardyce, or someone similar then it could be all over for KC.
The issue is not Shakespeare but the inability of KC to adapt very quickly. All good dancers change thier step once the music changes, KC has not been able to change his step to a new tune. |

Solanke yes but was proved wrong.
Bobby I am saying too much I see very very regular training and in games predominantly U23 and I just haven't seen anything exceptional to warrant an immediate call to the Eagles.
In my opinion Seyi Ojo is better, I would rate Fred Onyedinma above him as well. But a lot of the time football is about that big word, OPPORTUNITY and what you do with it. |

Not true. You also want to consider the mindset in that area.Where I grew up starting your kids early was like competition. And some of these kids will skip primary 6. In my sec school we had a special class who were ahead of their peers by one year. Considering these 3 ppportunies, quite a number graduated at 14. Mickael2: 2011 was six years ago, these 14year olds are probably recent guys. Even Awoniyi who was very brilliant(yes I knew his cousin) graduated when he was 17, 14 was impossible back then |

I thought someone said the other day, they were going to force Abraham on Rohr. If this story is true, it shows Rohr had already identified Tammy's strength and considers him good enough to Russia. Of course we don't expect Rohr to give anyone an easy pass. Abraham not only have to be integrated in the team, but also needs to perform. Whether anyone likes it or not Abraham never turned down Nigeria, and I reiterate the switch process is on. Humility017: rohr should please not mind them...pinnick is incharge and not those good for nothing vultures...
if truly Abraham is willing...he should be invited for our last WCQ against Algeria...though he won't get to play...let him train wit the SE.... we need him and dessers badly...at least to partner ighalo... |

Thank you my brother.. of KC too old for there na 12.. tbaba1234: The Taye Taiwo story was a false rumor.
As regards Kelechi, He passed an MRI test which places his age at +/- 2 years with a 99% probability. Meaning he can't be more than 23. This is based on scientific evaluation.
Besides, Kelechi played for Nigeria under 13 and 15. This is Kelechi's picture in 2010.
www.nairaland.com/attachments/3798809_fbimg1464800873731_jpeg7dd0d95308e031f721938446e90e1e82
Besides, I have it on fairly reliable authority that Kelechi finished secondary school 2 years before under 17. Average age of finishing secondary school is 15-18 which puts him in the age -grade. |

Nigerians can hate eh..most of those claims are made by losers Dedebanky85: Why are you answering him? He's a very funny dude. I doubt he's serious with this 27 to 29 yrs brouhaha. But in a serious note, anyone that claims a player is above agr with ridiculous statements such as I know him, I know his older brother, or he grew up in my area, just kindly leave a pics of you and that player. It's easy for anyone to say they know a player and all of his upbringing, whereas they may not even know what state such player either hails from or grew up at. I was pained on Twitter today when some Nigerians on Spanish laliga twitter page were bashing Uzoho after they acknowledged him for being the youngest goalie. oga stop all that yeye talk. Somebody said this somebody said that. What do you know for a fact? Any player who passes the MRI was under 17. The testing is 99% accurate. We are civilized humans here. Talk with facts, unless you can produce their original birth certificates. Don't argue with assumptions. Many people who said this and that are just blabbing. That's how Someone came here on nairaland the other day to try to disprove Okoro's age only to finally admit he made a mistake. Osaz etc will need to show they can still perform at a high level. They need to move to bigger leagues and still perform to make a strong case especially considering that we have younger emerging players now. As much as we want to build a young team, we cannot afford to ignore performing experience. Experience alone is not enough. Mickael2: No No No, Ighalo cannot do what Emenike was doing then. Do you think Ighalo could have created that Bosnia goal? For one he doesn't have the pace to even do something like that, he is not the type of striker that can go out in the wing thus allowing another unsighted player free reign in the 18yard box which was what Emenike brought to the party then.
Then let's take a cursory look at all the to strikers in the world right now-Suarez, Benzema, Lewandowski, Kane etc etc. All these guys have one thing in common, their ability to also drift away from the box and giving the two CBs a false sense of security allowing their other attacking teammates to score. If Kane does not drift from the middle Alli won't score two goals in a season, same for Suarez and Messi, Benzema/Ronaldo, Lewandowski/Muller(you can see here that Ancellotti disrupted that Lewandowski/Muller, sack letter). This is what worked for us at the last world cup, Emenike drifted away from the box and created a goal for Osaze, he drifted into the middle and created a goal for Musa, this is the type of striker we need as out starter not some kwatankwa striker like Ighalo, which is why I really hope and pray and wish that Iheanacho will check his development because in the present crop of guys he is the only one that can remotely do that. Tammy Abraham cannot do it and so I do not expect him to be a hit for any National Team he plays for.
Now that brings me to the two/three guys I have always been clamouring for. Martins, Ike Uche and Osaze. Now Martins and Uche are two strikers who can drift well, infact sometimes you would be left wondering if they are playing as the winger just like what David Villa used to do, no need telling you his achievements from such play and/or Suarez's achievements too. So me clamouring for Ike Uche or Martins isn't because they bagged some goals recently, I am looking at their style of play, Ighalo is the type of forward we should look for when we are chasing a game, never a starter. There is a reason why the Three Lions will still invite Defoe ahead of Tammy despite our show of interest, they are not stupid, they know Defoe drifts more than Tammy thus providing a whole lot more attacking dimension.
So please, next time I mention Uche or Martins, it is not because they bagged a couple of goals, it is because their style of play will provide a lot more than what we have now.
Cc Joebie, Humility, Icon4s, Kog45 these guys that always attack when they see these names take note |

Hard to say with a new coach.Delends on how the coach wants to play. Mickael2: Assuming the coach likes him that is.
Let me ask you, without sentiments that is, if the coach starts playing a 4-3-3 do you see Iheanacho starting? Gray has been wonderful, he will take the right side, Mahrez on the left and Nacho and Vardy and Okazaki and Slimani vying for the single slot up top |

Thunk through why it's necessary. Modified Why "prove" ? These boys are in camp to fight to make the team anyway. Why act intimidated? There was nothing to prove. Nobody said he was the best or better than the boys already in camp. While other boys in Nigeria can just be taken to camp by their parents. Parents of these kids abroad want to be sure that their wards will even be considered in the midst of all the mago mago stories. U think say e easy to just pay for flight from abroad only to be sidelined not because of your child's abilities but for other sentimental reasons that we are known for? Oga u don pay for flight once to or from abroad? TheGoodJoe: Amunike held an open camp. Adekanye should have come to prove himself. Hard work, the secret to my great start this season- Simy Nwankwo By Staff Reporter - October 17, 2017
In form FC Crotone striker, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo says hard work and desire to excel in the Serie A has aided his impressive start to the 2017/2018 season.
Nwankwo, who has scored one goal with three assists for his modest Italian side, believes his work rate during pre-season, where he scored a hat-trick in one of the games, is paying off for him.
Speaking from his base in Italy, the tall and lanky goal poacher told AOIFootball.com that he is happy with his form this term.
“I am happy with my form and contribution so far for my club. All these performances from me are a result of my hard work. I have worked so hard and wished for this,” he said.
He further stated that he intends to get more goals in the Serie A but only if he is given more playing time.
“I don’t want to sound boastful, but I have always craved more playing time in order to show the stuff I am made of. I believe I have the quality and what it takes to lead the line for Crotone,” said the 25-year-old.
Simy has played 274 minutes for Crotone this term
