my final take. (see dictionary below)

1st Application in support of mickael2 's argument
When you say Chelsea legend, Chelsea is the adjective here. Legend is the noun.

The adjective meaning below may not apply
The most appropriate meaning is Noun definition (2).
Hence, "EXTREMELY famous".
The bolded synonyms below is how Mickael2 likes to see it
Synonyms of the word: celebrity, star, superstar, icon, famous person, great, genius, phenomenon, luminary, giant, big name; informal: celeb, megastar

2nd Application in support of Chelsea and most of us
Chelsea legend.
E.g the contributions of Mikel in Chelsea Champions League victories is/were legend.
Take note of the adjective form of legend in the sentence above

Hence the adjective meaning becomes most appropriate. Meaning: very well known chelsea player for his contributions as a holding midfielder.

Conclusion: Even the first application when used loosely can mean icon, famous person, great, star etc. Hence Mikel is a Chelsea legend.
However if you want to use the word more strictly and reserve it for a special few, then Mickael2 you have a case.
So really there is no point having this argument.

My brother. I understand you very well. For you legendary status mean a player that far above his peers in that club or country (?) considering history. I was going by that definition myself earlier.

But that's not the definition we are using here. So we are all now in agreement.

Mickael2:
Ok do you know that many Argentines consider some players that played with Maradona as legends(me I don't even know the name of those players anymore) but in recent times all you hear is that Maradona won the World Cup single-handedly which means his teammates were average at best. Do you know why? Because those players, despite how good they are, did not do something we haven't seen before. Legendary status changes with generation, maybe for you, you watched Hierro well enough(I watchd him too although not so much because then I was in boarding school) but from some of the matches we have watched that he played, he didn't really do something that I haven't seen past Real players doing and that reduces that legendary status for me

you have sinned in your analogy.

Use another team, not Chelsea grin

You point is valid though

safarigirl:
Moses Simon get athleticism, Leon Balogun and especially Victor Moses he athleticism.

Mikel does not need athleticism, he will decimate those kids with ease, I have confidence in that.

I hate reading anything you post and even more, I hate conversing with you because you aggravate me.

You can think whatever you like, but it dies not change the fact that our team is better than Zambia's just like Manchester City had a better team than Chelsea.

God! I hate talking to you

Already made my comments as regards that role. The most important, but often unnoticed. Mikel was pivotal to Chelsea's successes. And that's for tactical minds. Many pages back I was of a different view. Of what good is it for me to be here in the first place, if after so many pages I still maintain the same view about everything. If I wasn't learning anything, I would have been long gone.

Ogu, Nwakaeme arrive for Zambia, promise the best
Fisayo Dairo September 30, 2017

Super Eagles duo John Ogu and Anthony Nwakaeme arrived the country on Friday night ahead of next weekend’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against Zambia.

Both players featured for their Israeli side Hapoel Be’er Sheva in a Europa League game away to Czech side Viktoria Plzen on Thursday night.

Ogu played from start to finish in the encounter while Nwakaeme came on as a second half substitute and scored his side’s only goal within five minutes of coming on in the 1-3 loss.

With the Israeli league on break until after the international window, both players touched down in the country on Friday night ahead of an onward journey to Uyo, Southern Nigeria.

“I’m taking the game very seriously. It’s a very important game for us. We don’t want to joke with the game,” Ogu told www.aclsports.com on arrival.

“We know it’s going to be a difficult game but we’re looking forward to it. We’re playing at home and we’re ready to give our best to win this game so as to get to the World Cup.”

The Super Eagles camp in Uyo will open on Monday morning and the duo will be among the early birds at the Eagles’ Le Meridien Hotel base. Nigeria need an outright victory against Zambia to seal a spot in next summer’s World Cup in Russia with a game to spare in November.

Ajibade, Ijamilusi Grab Two Each As Nigeria Demolish Tanzania 6-0 In WCQNigeria's Falconets whitewashed their Tanzanian counterparts 6-0 to zoom to the next round of the 2018 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup qualifiers.

The second leg tie was played in Dar es Salaam on Sunday.

Four goals in the first half and two in the second half were enough to earn the Falconets the massive win.

Rasheedat Ajibade opened the scoring in the 20th minute before making it a brace for herself six minutes later.

Midfielder Folashade Ijamilusi and big striker Anam Imo registered their names on the score sheet as the first half ended 4-0 in favour of Nigeria.

Ijamilusi and substitute Cynthia Aku fetched the two other goals to complete the 6-0 mauling of the Tanzania.

Nigeria had won the first leg in Benin City by 3-0 and completing the task by 6-0 means the Falconets will face Morocco in the next round of the qualifiers.

Kog45:
Truly not even on standby due to a slow start in d league,i wish he rediscover his form and fight for a place in d team.

Honestly seeing Felix Uduokhai in action, something tells me d guy w be a good bargain for Eagles ,hope Rohr do needful on d guy.

On Tournarigba Jordan i don't think NFF or Rohr have made any move except media speculations, though i read where is Dad Ojokojo Tournarigba said he prefer his son to play for Germany which is unfortunate coz Ojokojo was a thorough home bred that played in Nigeria local league and very popular with shooting star.

I don't know much about Irofa but I expect his Dad to have great influence on him being an ex international but nothing is coming from old Irofa

Kudos must be given to parents of Iwobi,Aina,Ebuhei, Ekong for having great influence on d their children not Irofa and Ojokojo who are home grown ex player and we are finding it difficult to have their son committing to Nigeria.

Omeruo is not even good enough for the standby list right now.

Don't suspect foul play when there is none. Who made move for Sarenren Bazee? Same person also made a move for another German-Nigerian --
I can't remember. We are only hearing of Tammy this Tammy not only because of his exploit in the Championship but he's moved to the Premier League. Added to that Pinnick has a personal relationship with the dad. I'm sure Rohr has he's eyes on those Germans. That's his circle. He knows what to do. Just because he is not loud mouthed like Pinnick don't mean he is not looking to win them over.
Besides, don't forget we made a move on Torunarigha earlier.

Are they ready? What's stopping them now? All the names you mentioned need to switch their allegiance first. After that we have to see what they can bring.. Not a short term solution to me. My point is you need your best alternatives in bench at all times. When those players you mentioned finally make the switch then we can talk about them fighting for the CB spot. For now, I'm stil waiting for you to mention names that can be IMMEDIATE alternatives.

Kog45:
GBAM abi no be d same Efe again, very erratic as CB,back up for Ekong and Leon?

Rohr should just look for CB in d class of Balogun who can read d game very well.Felix Uduokhai should be considered coz is not easy to be a starter in German league especially as CB.

Am an apostle of experience but a lot forget that some players doesnt need any national team experience to break into d team.

Balogun came to national team through Keshi, his first match he got injured as RB when he came in d 2nd half but his first touch on d ball was a class, already ripe at that time.

I remember Onigbinde invited Danny Shittu prior to 2002 WC and played a friendly but later dropped,i told a friend that this guy was better than Efe Sodje even better than Joseph Enakhire as at then coz it was glaring.

Look at Ikeme case for instance,it was glaring that Ikeme should have in Eagles for long or do we say Ikeme need any experience to be in goal for national team.He doesn't need it,championship league already prepared d guy for any challenges.

My question is this why do we need to wait for this foreign born to reach d age of 28 plus before extending invitation to them, thanks for Rohr for changing this perspectives.

If Ekong can lay claim to shirt as CB in d Super Eagles then player like Felix Uduokhai,Jordan Tournarigba,Irofa are more ready, let give them d chance now not after 28 years of age.
