my final take. (see dictionary below) 1st Application in support of mickael2 's argument When you say Chelsea legend, Chelsea is the adjective here. Legend is the noun. The adjective meaning below may not apply The most appropriate meaning is Noun definition (2). Hence, "EXTREMELY famous". The bolded synonyms below is how Mickael2 likes to see it Synonyms of the word: celebrity, star, superstar, icon, famous person, great, genius, phenomenon, luminary, giant, big name; informal: celeb, megastar 2nd Application in support of Chelsea and most of us Chelsea legend. E.g the contributions of Mikel in Chelsea Champions League victories is/were legend. Take note of the adjective form of legend in the sentence above Hence the adjective meaning becomes most appropriate. Meaning: very well known chelsea player for his contributions as a holding midfielder. Conclusion: Even the first application when used loosely can mean icon, famous person, great, star etc. Hence Mikel is a Chelsea legend. However if you want to use the word more strictly and reserve it for a special few, then Mickael2 you have a case. So really there is no point having this argument.

My brother. I understand you very well. For you legendary status mean a player that far above his peers in that club or country (?) considering history. I was going by that definition myself earlier. But that's not the definition we are using here. So we are all now in agreement. Mickael2: |
you have sinned in your analogy. Use another team, not Chelsea ![]() You point is valid though safarigirl: |

Already made my comments as regards that role. The most important, but often unnoticed. Mikel was pivotal to Chelsea's successes. And that's for tactical minds. Many pages back I was of a different view. Of what good is it for me to be here in the first place, if after so many pages I still maintain the same view about everything. If I wasn't learning anything, I would have been long gone. Kog45: |

Ogu, Nwakaeme arrive for Zambia, promise the best Fisayo Dairo September 30, 2017 https://www.aclsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/IMG-20170904-WA0026.jpg Super Eagles duo John Ogu and Anthony Nwakaeme arrived the country on Friday night ahead of next weekend’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against Zambia. Both players featured for their Israeli side Hapoel Be’er Sheva in a Europa League game away to Czech side Viktoria Plzen on Thursday night. Ogu played from start to finish in the encounter while Nwakaeme came on as a second half substitute and scored his side’s only goal within five minutes of coming on in the 1-3 loss. With the Israeli league on break until after the international window, both players touched down in the country on Friday night ahead of an onward journey to Uyo, Southern Nigeria. “I’m taking the game very seriously. It’s a very important game for us. We don’t want to joke with the game,” Ogu told www.aclsports.com on arrival. “We know it’s going to be a difficult game but we’re looking forward to it. We’re playing at home and we’re ready to give our best to win this game so as to get to the World Cup.” The Super Eagles camp in Uyo will open on Monday morning and the duo will be among the early birds at the Eagles’ Le Meridien Hotel base. Nigeria need an outright victory against Zambia to seal a spot in next summer’s World Cup in Russia with a game to spare in November. --ACLsports |

Omeruo is not even good enough for the standby list right now. Don't suspect foul play when there is none. Who made move for Sarenren Bazee? Same person also made a move for another German-Nigerian -- I can't remember. We are only hearing of Tammy this Tammy not only because of his exploit in the Championship but he's moved to the Premier League. Added to that Pinnick has a personal relationship with the dad. I'm sure Rohr has he's eyes on those Germans. That's his circle. He knows what to do. Just because he is not loud mouthed like Pinnick don't mean he is not looking to win them over. Besides, don't forget we made a move on Torunarigha earlier. Kog45: |

Are they ready? What's stopping them now? All the names you mentioned need to switch their allegiance first. After that we have to see what they can bring.. Not a short term solution to me. My point is you need your best alternatives in bench at all times. When those players you mentioned finally make the switch then we can talk about them fighting for the CB spot. For now, I'm stil waiting for you to mention names that can be IMMEDIATE alternatives. Kog45: |
