No fears about Ndidi. If he is already playing at this level at least at his age, it tells us that he will go really really far. Playing for country has it's different challenges. There are players that put in a better performance for country than their clubs. AIG07: |

Welcome Magink! You just made it official. Magink: |
Sometimes I think there is an unsaid rule that the refs have to support teams that will guarantee crowds in the stands. After all is the overall purpose not to make money? Of course they don't succeed all the time AIG07: |

On the ground that we see ourselves as family, SuperNerd should feel very very free to come back without any iota of ego. Nobody pressured him to leave in the first place. I believe he wants to return, but for the indirect "go-to-hell" calls, he will feel very reluctant. Pietorico has apologized to the house. That is an acknowledgement from him that there should be some set limits as to how far we can go to insult others. I wan't to believe such will not repeat itself. Should Pietorico appologize directly, It should be for the purpose of making peace, and not "beg" him to return. SuperNerd should apologize for trying to rope us in, and using that as a reason for leaving. I can't remember if he called us names in the process. I've had a couple fight with safarigirl, and we moved on easily.. sometimes "sorry" don't have to be said. the simple act of replying to my post after our initial fight already tells me that she wants to move on, and I have no option to move on in the same spirit.. We should all try (I take God beg us). Where that our pastor? I beg quote Bible for us. We should all try to disagree in a respectful manner regardless of our ages or status in society. One moniker once said he engages everyone regardless of their ages or status in life -- I can't remember exactly which. I like that spirit. I will never mention what I do in real life here, to what end? I have a HEALTHY level of self esteem, so I won't be seeking any form of attention or reverence online. Come to think of it, even in the real world how will you know your genuine friends if they are all around you for what you are? People who know me personally down to my family know what I stand for. I will say it as it is regardless of your status. I stand for what I believe to be true always. And I no dey look face. We can hardly live up to 100 years in this world, and we are not taking anything away from this world. Whatever we achieve we will leave behind for... who knows if it will be managed well or wasted. All vanity. Let's stand for truth and peace always. Icon4s: |

The Copper Bullets manager Wedson Nyirenda ran the rule over 21 players in the team's first workout held at Nkoloma Stadium on Monday afternoon, with Zesco United players excused because of their upcoming Barclays Cup quarterfinal clash against Kitwe United. Nyirenda has urged the invited players to be mentally prepared to face the Super Eagles, as the game will be highly psychological. He told Fazfootball.com : ''This game will be highly psychological, therefore we are working on their mental strength before the match. ''Every player and everyone on our bench know and believe that this time is our time. God can only show you the fish and it up to you to fish it out. ''Looking at the way we worked against Algeria home and away it tells a lot of stories. The boys now know and believe it can be done. ''Nigeria is a different team we are not going to be big headed because we beat Algeria we are focussed on looking at Nigeria only.'' The invited foreign-based professionals are expected to arrive in camp on Sunday, October 1. Igho Kingsley --AllNigeriaSoccer |

Exactly what I'm thinking. Irrespective of who keeps, let's just nail our qualification against Zambia.. That's what matters now. If Ezenwa could do it against Cameroon then no qualms. Kog45: |
Well let's not take anything away from the trio. They have all been with their first teams and will play a big part in the not too distant future. Considering their ages, their careers are going well. We will not lack quality goalkeepers with Qatar 2022 in view. For now we wait for the return of two solid keepers -- Enyeama and Ikeme. Hopefully they will both be in great form before Russia. Kog45: |
Haha.. tbaba na u know na.. if you have been following my post, the only good thing I've ever seen in him is when he vindicated Keshi for giving him a call up (undeservedly). I'm not saying he is a bad player.. But if we should go by club performances there have always been players ahead of him. Modified: By "rightful places", the Cameroon list is the context/reference. tbaba1234: |
make e no tire you again. Wetin go tire me pass na if we leave am late to qualify. so let's get our priorities right. Chrismario: |
exactly tbaba1234: |
Oh well, here is my initial post. I said that earlier: Joebie: Nothing new here, besides: 1. The return of Akpeyi, relegating Alampasu to the standby list. 2. Also Tyronne Ebuehi is relegated to the standby. Uche Agbo taking his place 3. A domestic league new entrant in Afeez Aremu. 4. Of course Alex Iwobi and Aaron Samuel returning to their rightful places. 5. Omeruo, Onyekuru, Muazam, and Stephen Eze are off the list entirely. Am I missing anything else? tbaba1234: |
Well i'm just stating the fact that we don't have a good case on our hands if we keep complaining about the goalkeeper selection. It's not like we have solid options. However, I personally will test any of Uzoho, Nwokolor or Alampasu for Algeria. Who says none can be our version of Donnarumma? solonnachi: |
Who did Aaron Samuel replace then? Because Olanare was initially on standby. Modified: http://kwese.espn.com/football/nigeria/story/3190846/nigeria-striker-samuel-replaces-injured-iwobi Just in: Aaron Samuel called in to replace injured Alex Iwobi. Uche Agbo also invited. — Nigeria Super Eagles (@NGSuperEagles) August 27, 2017 tbaba1234: |
Well i'm just saying just because we go for a foreign-bred does not guarantee that they will provide the solutions we need. Rohr makes the final decisions based on what he sees, not NFF. I still consider standby players in SE fold, even those that didn't make the cut this time. Let's not forget what we have before us is a must win tie, and only 14 players will play. We can cry all we want when we see the list for Algeria. Chrismario: |
Francis Uzoho --> Deportivo Fabril Segunda Division B Group 1 (Third Tier) Recent stats --> Between the sticks for Deportivo in their last 3 games which all ended wins. Has only conceded once. Dele Alampasu --> Feirense LigaNos (First Tier) Recent stats --> Not listed in their last 3 games -- all loses. David Nwokolor --> Rijeka (First Tier) Recent stats --> Have only made the bench twice after 10 league matches. He wasn't listed in their last two matches. |
Akpeyi is fit now. He was a MOTM candidate for Chippa in their last two matches. That's the rationale for his recall. Rohr considers him SE's first choice Keeper. Will he start? That's another matter. Let's not make a big deal out of it. As long as Ezenwa or Akepeyi can do the needed for now. I don't expect to see either behind the sticks in Russia. Don't forget, besides Ezenwa and Akpeyi, for now we have the likes of Uzoho, Alampasu and Nwokolor -- none of which are even second choice keepers in their parent club at the moment. solonnachi: |
You are among the same people that will come and say why are we going for those boys when we have full Nigerians begging to play for Naija.. My answer has always been, a switch of allegiance does not guarantee you will even be capped immediately sef, talk less of going to Russia. It's a level playing field, they are as well Nigerians, and they deserve a chance to FIGHT for a shirt. Chrismario: |
Thank you! Chrismario: |
I wasn't following most of those discussions/fights because I dey road almost throughout. IMO though, it makes no sense holding it against forumites here for not seemingly defending him when Pietrico went for his mama. It doesn't show he has a tough skin. Or maybe I don't understand what really happened. However, people are brought up in different ways. safarigirl: |
AFCON? You mean until the next WAFU? They are the UNDISPUTED Wafu champs. In fact they can keep winning it. Danielnino00: |
calm down Safari.. Do4luv just dey talk he own.. we know better. Nobody owes supernerd an apology. In the real world person go curse your mama waka..nothing dey happen. Just because we asked Pietrico to apologize for doing so does not mean some of us should take it too far. We are all adults here. We engaged Pietrico and he showed maturity for accepting that he did wrong by going too far. so let's just move on. supernerd has every right to open any thread here as long as NL permits. it's a free world. feel free to go there, and come here as well if you want. He too could as well come here if he wishes. If he doesn't, that's his prerogative. No be competition. Competition for popularity on nairaland?! come on now.. we are all above these small pikin things na. safarigirl: |
Don't forget Aaron Samuel replaced injured Iwobi against Cameroon. Now Samuel is back on standby tbaba1234: |
You can't please everyone. We have 23 players, only 14 of which will play against Zambia, and some are complaining here about those on standby like Ebuehi. We have a crucial game and enough manpower. Let's get this out of the way. I'm sure Aina is considered ahead of Ebuehi. He can cover both LB and RB when needed. Ebuehi is not NEEDED for this game. |
