I can see you are confused as well Modified Let me add, I praised an in form Sadiq Umar. And he does not fit your description when he is in form. But that was TWO seasons ago in La Liga 2 . elyte89: Him…u knw who I am talking about,go back and watch sadiq matches in eagles jersey and notice what he’s known for…take it or leave it,sadiq is not a boring player, out of nowhere he creates something for himself even when d team is playing badly let alone of when d midfield is functioning well, though he ends up messing most of the chances, having such a player in ur squad will always confuse a coach.he’s a perfect example of anti-cavani(a striker who creates chances but hardly converts dem)….take it or leave it,forget federal character ,if he’s fit ,he’s going to afcon |

You sef go soon breathe after this low budget white coach show u shege. Oasis007:

I like visiting this thread anytime list of invited players is released. It always so entertaining coz you would definitely see one or two members nagging and cussing bitterly.
Last time Collins ain't invited, some Dudes called for JPes head, but funnily some are now questioning while he is invited when some players can play the position.
Sadiq Umar didn't play well to be honest, but we should understand this is Nigeria. Do you think its really easy to maintain your sanity as a Nigeria Leader?!
The other time no Northerner made the list, there was uproar in the North, in fact some Northerners called for boycotting of Super Eagles Matches. Protest letters were sent like flood to NFF Glass House.
Sadiq Umar is starboy of North, hence his inclusion, though sentimental but justifiable. We need to pity our coaches, we ain't in their shoes hence we wouldn't know where and how its pinching.
Regarding thin midlfiled, I do not expect any argument on this again. JPes favours 4-4-2 formation. He prefers playing with 2 midfleders and 4 attackers, thus he always invite large number of Attackers compare to Midfielders.
Tella, Iheanacho and Boniface can even play 10. Pls let's allow Jpes breathes, we are choking him too much. |

Peseiro, why not wait until he picks up form first for club before national team invites. My goodness we have many CFs who are ALREADY IN FORM.
“It (Umar’s injury) is one of the most complicated things for a player,” Alguacil told Oma Akatugba.
“After such a serious injury and so much time out of competition, getting into the rhythm would be difficult.
“When we signed him, he was in a great moment after having a great season in the second division. Now he is in a Real Sociedad that is fighting in the Champions League and wants to continue fighting to be in the competition next year.
“He is important. I think Umar’s work has been good, and that is what will bring him closer to being able to compete at a higher level than what he demonstrated in Almeria and will be able to help us.” |

Let me defend your take Alhassan for Umar Igoh Ogbu for Collins I would relax on Orban, because he just performed to his standard tonight Akor is definitely knocking the door, but it will be hard to knock off any of the other forwards yet. And let me add, Nwakali for Aribo Tobichimezie: JPeseiro is a retard, low IQ and rigid in his stupid ways. So we're back to the 4 man midfield rubbish again? why invite all those forwards against almighty Lesotho and Zimbabwe, are those strikers really necessary?
Alhassan Akor Adams Igoh Ogbu Gift Orban
Have all made a case for invitations to the NT but this Portuguese retard still won't invite them.

Left Back is well covered because Aina and Bassey can also play a role there. We have no need for Collins. That gives a well deserving Ogbu a slot in CB where we have issues. Our midfield is thin and needs performers like Alhassan and Nwakali. Both should have been picked ahead of a currently POOR Sadiq Umar, and an unconvincing Aribo, especially considering we are already stacked in the CF position, and Aribo strengths in the PAST lies more in front than midfield positions. A right thinking coach should be able to find a balance between MERIT and where there is NEED. Simple common sense decisions Modified And let me add, Adeleye should be on the list. Okoye should probably be given another chance after his Coppa Itallia big showing. Uzoho will bring more woes to us if we don't make a decision fast. You can't help the confidence of a keeper who is regularly being benched (oh and makes ELEMENTARY mistakes. oyibo man sef no go take that kind nonsense ). What message are you sending when you drop our only consistent keeper in Europe, for an Ojo that will not get a chance? quickberry:

I agree Alhassan should be in. Sadiq out. And that’s by merit and need. humility33: I don't even think it is a federal character thing
I think it is Pasiero and the nff guys that knows what's up about Sadiq Umar invitation
Because if it has to be federal character we have Alhassan and Sanusi that would have make the list without raising eyebrows because they deserve to
How UMAR made the list ahead of Akor or Orban is something Pasiero need to explain to us...Nigeria sport journalist should ask the Portuguese that |

Haha I no know where this convo start. KC has a good SE record and Boniface has started will with SE. Mod Let me add that I expect Boniface to do better in a tournament proper. . Kog45: My point is,Iheanacho against São Tomé had wonderful assist and against Saudi he scored a lovely goal but Kokmne said he is basking in past glories and comparisons with Boniface should not arise based on the league but here am talking about super eagles. |

These are his positions for the current season and previous according to transfermarkrt. Confirming on SofaScore he has largely played as one of the CFs in a two prong attack. Boniface already has an assist for Nigeria, and forced an own goal in as many games. And he is proving himself week in week out with assists when he doesn’t score. You mean you are still in doubt? Sir, he is most likely an SS for Udinese Kog45: Yes I will pick Iheanacho till Boniface prove it in national team, hopefully coming Afcon.
But I have a question and enlightenment, pls what role is Isaac Success playing in Udinese cuz his goal scoring damn too poor and as you said his assist not that top notches but keep on getting games. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 10:05pm On Nov 06, 2023 |
His assist ratio is not good enough either. What will he be doing behind the CF. How do you come to that conclusion about Boniface? Kog45: I don’t really see Isaac Success as CF cuz his goal ratio is abysmal, just 3 goals for Udinese in 2 seasons and yet to score ongoing season but a very good option behind CF.Right now Iheanacho, not even Boniface behind our CF is working, though am not seeing him in eagles for Afcon just my opinion. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 2:46pm On Nov 06, 2023 |
Egbon, Isaac Success is good in his own right but only u said we are not lacking CFs on this same post. So what role do you want him to play na? Kog45: Sometimes I no Dey understand…na so we talk am,Chuckwueze skill make we think he better pass Saka but it’s glaring now,Eze we thought we don’t need him but would have been a great addition,I Dey hear wetin Lesley Ugochucwu go bring, now Michael Folorunsho..oh Akinsanmiro and Eletu should continue developing instead of capping them now and see what future holds.
Apart from RB and CF positions which I think we are secured, other positions are opening, good player doing it week in week out deserves eagles call up,sincerely I don’t mind having Isaac Success back |

“I have been through difficult times, If you score a lot, everyone is happy. If you don't score, it's more difficult, you swallow criticism, you barely get playing minutes and you're hardly allowed to start a match. That's difficult. “I don't feel like myself anymore,”
Orban continued. “Sitting on the bench, playing for ten minutes... What can I teach the club or team? I haven't spoken to the coach yet. That's not necessary either. All I can say is that I will remain a professional and will always commit myself, whether I can play for five or ten minutes, it doesn't matter. I just need trust. The coach decided that I could come to Ghent, he gave me confidence. I am not a player who gains confidence when he comes on. I am a player who starts and must be able to grow in a match. A club cannot destroy my career. I keep working. If it doesn't work here, go somewhere else…
The coach decides who plays. I certainly respect our coach, he is a top coach. He knows what he's doing. I still trust him. The club remains the most important thing, the team is above everything. Even if I don't play, if the team wins, that's what counts.”
