Let’s hope for the best. Else, Uzoho go follow Peseiro go when their time is up
TheSuperNerd:
I agree his snap story is foolish. I agree it is messed up. But then what do you think is giving him the liver to do such? The handwriting is clearly written. Uzoho has the backing of Peseiro. He will be our Number 1 in CIV. It is inescapable.

Hoping he recovers in time before AFCON. He can't afford to miss a second consecutive tourney.

TheSuperNerd:
Injury knocks out Osimhen from 2026 World Cup qualifiers

Victor Osimhen will most likely miss next month’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe after he suffered a second degree hamstring injury on international duty.

Reports from Italy said the injury the Napoli striker suffered while playing against Saudi Arabia in a friendly in Portugal Friday will rule him out of action for between four and six weeks.

The World Cup qualifiers are scheduled from November 13, just about the time he will likely begin rehabilitation from this latest injury setback.

Osimhen left the Super Eagles training camp Sunday to return to Italy after a scan was done on the injury.

He will also miss Serie A matches against Verona, Milan, Salernitana and Empoli as well as the UEFA Champions League trip to Union Berlin.

In November 2020, Osimhen was sidelined for several weeks after he dislocated his shoulder playing for the Super Eagles against Sierra Leone in Benin City.

On point!

TheSuperNerd:
Frank Onyeka fizzled out from the moment Onyedika left the pitch on 61mins. His shine as seen in the first half dimmed as Aribo was now deployed to the middle to pair Onyeka since Lookman had also come in same time Onyedika was pulled out.

This meant more defensive duties and less charges forward for Onyeka since Aribo is there now. Did they compliment each other in the middle between minute 61 and Minute 75? Not so much.

Then on 75mins, Iwobi came in for Aribo. Same story. Onyeka had to stick to the role Onyedika had vacated.

There are players who play better when paired or played with the right partners in a department or on same side on the pitch.

The reason we saw an Onyeka goal today was Onyedika's cruise control from deep permitting Onyeka to make those late runs forward and unleash his ball striking.

Thus quality disappeared almost with Aribo and Iwobi moved/brought in alongside Onyeka in the middle on 61 and 75mins respectively.

PERSONNEL MATTERS BUT PERSONNEL SYNERGY MATTERS MORE.

Barryseal:
Let's not waste tax payers money going to the Afcon if Uzoho is the person playing in goal.
Best we withdraw from the tournament and save hard earned dollars fooling around in Abijan.

cheesy Dem don sign strong contract.. can only be sacked after the AFCON. make we accept our fate

Tobichimezie:
Peseiro has to be sacked before the AFCON, this morons obsession with Uzoho also needs to be investigated cause it doesn't make sense at this point. Granted this is a friendly but how many more red flags can a coach get?

Peseiro na wa
TheSuperNerd:
It is not a question of who is better. It is a question of Jpes sticking to Uzoho. We are stuck.

If Adeleye had been in camp early, I bet he would have had a chance of starting vs Saudi Arabia.

Leye was our GK away vs Sierra Leone and I was impressed with him but Peseiro is Peseiro.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 4:54pm On Oct 16, 2023
Uzoho is not better than Adeleye
TheSuperNerd:
Guys. We truly don't have time again. The time to properly fix our GK issues is long gone. We are stuck with Francis Uzoho ahead of the Afcon barring injury.
