Mindfulness: So? How is it a problem? It becomes my problem the moment they start convincing me why homosexuality is normal. There is nothing to discuss here. People should be free to practice polygamy if that is their choice. My two cents. Then we are on the same page here. But be that as it may, its not so. |
Family › Re: Gay Couple Wins Custody Battle Over Surrogate Mother, Jubilation In Hell. by JoeBlocks(m): 11:58am On May 01, 2016 |
shaybebaby: JoeBlocks, I would like to say that whilst polygamy is illegal here in the UK ( the country I am familiar with) their laws still acknowledges it somewhat. How?, I imagine you are thinking.
You cannot get married to more than one wife in UK under English laws, that much is certain. But the state recognises that outside of the UK, customary laws in such places permit the practice.
If you get married in such a place under their customary laws and it is recognised as such, the UK will accept in their country that under the customary laws in your country, you have more than one wife.
So in that case, let's say you want to bring a spouse to the UK and you have more than one under the laws of where you are emigrating from, they are allowed to join you.
However once in the UK, under their laws if disputes were to arise, their rules would only apply to the one spouse you are legally married to. The others, have no legal standing because their laws does not cater to such. They would need to return to the place where the customary laws apply to resolve their issues there.
That is an example of open mindedness with reason. Take as many wives as your law accepts in your land, have them with you as long as you can cater for them but we will only recognize one as a lawful wife and afford just one the rights and protection under our laws. I understand what you're saying. Its the same with Holland and some europeans states. But my grouse is, why didn't the law accord the other wife the same right, as recognizing her?. |

Mindfulness: 1. What does homose.xuality do to a person's mind? 2. Are we discussing ho.mosexuality or polygamy? 1. It messes with ones ability to discern the conventional way for one to have sex. 2. We are discussing marriage. |

freecocoa: Oh yea? Please tell me one of the many meanings in this context. It might mean I'm just saying, he has sense! You want another one? Are you for real? The for better and worse comment came because Tiwa was the one leaving, due to the fact that she can't take no more, that's when you remember the bullsh1t phrase, I didn't see you saying same when billz was spilling and threatening suicide. The comment about praying that no proof of the cheating be found, if not 'gen gen', clearly indicates you thought she did it.
Come what do you even take me for? I didn't say same when Billz started this charade?, why, because I didn't even bother to read the thread. Nope that comment clearly signify that if evidence suffice that she (Tiwa) did, then gen gen simply mean people will know she's a liar. I take you for a girl. |

RebelliousDark: anybody with a life outside here wouldn't consider e-fighting, e-stalking or gossiping all day on Nairaland as his/her number one priority. . . .connect the dots. . .nothing is working for them offline either socially or financially. . .the internet is the only place they have some sort of relevance. . . . .
after some 5 years when reality starts telling and mommy and daddy stops throwing in pocket money they would realize how much of a mess they've made of their lives. . . LOL. How are you so sure? I for one, consider some things here serious, and hey, I have a life outside here, a very good life at that. That's one of the joy of being your own man. |
Celebrities › Re: Freeze: Tiwa Savage, I'm Disappointed by JoeBlocks(m): 10:06am On May 01, 2016 |
freecocoa: The comment is self explanatory, just what else could you have meant?
On the other thread where Tiwa said she didn't cheat, you said to pray no proof comes out to make her a liar(not in those exact words though), you hinted at for better for worse when I implied she did the right thing by leaving, never for once mentioning anything about the irresponsibility of the man, even a child would understand you are just being coy about where you stand, so please don't patronise me. Now how can you just jump into conclusion like that, you can't just say the comment is self explanatory when it have multiple meanings? Now with the emboldened, you can see my comment never pose to support Billz, nor Tiwa. |

freecocoa: You endorsed Freeze's comment clearly faulting Tiwa, after praising thiefbillz, then called me out for pointing out how much of a hypocrite the yellow pawpaw is, reiterating your support for team billz and somehow you can't see the connection, yet I'm supposed to be the one with issues? Like really?
Dude please! Dudette, did you bother to ask what I meant by saying "You have sense". Surely you should have asked me to elucidate on it, before you assumed I endorsed what he said? Now apart from that comment, have you seen me make any comment as regard this issue when it blew up? For your info, I don't support Tiwa, neither do I support Billz, I support neither of them. |

Btw, your pattern is not encouraging at all. Chisos! Do you even know the meaning of hypocrite? Saying you hate men automatically makes me a hypocrite, bloody marvelous. Btw, your emotion is the one speaking, not you. |

TheAgba: Single verse ? Omg...thanks for the correction. And for the line 4,i didn't see that coming. You've a good eye. Single verse = single stanza. LOL. Just keep on writing. And remember, whenever you read about a particular form or structure of a poem, make sure you do a thorough research about it, check at least three or four sites to know whether the form is the same with the others, because sometimes, these sites contradict each other. |

Mindfulness: Homo.sexuality has always been here. It is just becoming more visible now and I don't see how it is a problem or anyone's business. Does it hurt or harm anyone? Nope. I doesn't. But if it has always been here, I believe back then something would have been done about it. The thing is not whether homosexuality has harmed anyone, but what homosexuality tends to do to a person's mind. So, if you don't sEe it as a problem or anyone's business, you should ask why the West made it their business to criminalize polygamy. |
Romance › Re: Reasons Not To Live Together Before Marriage. by JoeBlocks(m): 7:34am On May 01, 2016 |
layla129: To a lot of people, it seems to make sense that a wise step in knowing if you are compatible to marry would be to "test run" your relationship by living together first. But, is it really as good of an idea as it seems like it would be?
Why living together before marriage is a bad idea:
1. Those are who live together are least likely to marry each other. Of course! Why not save yourself pain and regret and know before hand whether you guys are compactable, than marry and have sorry, tears and blood. 2. You lose the excitement and thrill the honeymoon will bring.[ /quote]Thrill and excitement is an everyday for a couple who truly love each other. One who have lived together and know what each person likes.
[quote]3. While many women look at it as a stepping stone to marriage, most men look at it for convenience and not firm commitment. Convenience and firm commitment comes when both party have decided they can live as one. You don't expect a man to be committed to a disaster do you? 4. Those who live together have higher divorce and separation rates. How did you know this? I'll like to see evidence to ascertain this claim of yours. 5. Those who live together do not experience the best sex.[ /quote]LMAO! This is a lie, a very big lie at that. The best sex is the sex one have with someone who is as skilled as the person. Everyday is a new experience.
[quote]6. Those who live together, have more disagreement, fights and violence. Says who? How did you know this? If I've lived together with a person for years, and I eventually marry that person, I believe the years we lived as singles would be enough for me to know and understand the person. 7. Many times, people who live together before getting married, upset their families or friends who have strict religious beliefs. It can create a rift in the family which can be difficult to repair. Yes! Family, bunch of people who don't mind their business, they don't add a penny to your life and they still tell you how to live your life. I'll say this, any man or woman who listen to his or her family as regard doing what he or she believe to be right, will have themselves to blame. Between, I love this weather....uhhh. If you're cold, cover yourself with the Blood of Jesus Answer your pm, I'm just around the corner. |

Mindfulness: Are gays responsible for the problems Nigeria is facing? You misunderstood me. I never said gays were responsible for where we are today. I only implied that open mindedness is among the reason why homosexuality invaded Nigeria. All this, "I was born this way" bullshit doesn't even come to it. |
