RomanceMen Don’t ‘toast’ Me –adesua Etomi by JoelNkantaBlog(op): 2:32pm On Oct 08, 2015
With her academic excellence, Adesua Etomi can be taken for a nerd. But the truth is, she’s not. The light skinned actress is a hilarious and down to earth person. In fact, she has no airs around her. The first class graduate of Drama and Performance from the University of Wolverhampton, United Kingdom and also triple distinction holder in Performing Arts from City College Coventry, also in the UK, certainly knows her onions when it comes to role interpretation. In this interview with Entertain¬er, Etomi shares with us her joy and fears. Excerpts:

How long have you been acting?

I have been acting professionally since 2013. I only moved to Nigeria two years ago because I have been in the United Kingdom. I studied Drama and Performance in school. I got a Bachelor of Art degree in Drama and Performance and I came out with a first class. I wasn’t planning to move back to Lagos when I did. Frankly, I quit my job over there because I grew discontent and restless. Initially, my plan was to come and spend three months here, but now I have spent three years. This means that it has been good and rewarding. I stayed because Nollywood welcomed me and my love for acting won’t let me be. It is a decision I haven’t regretted. Even before now I have done a lot of theaters; I did a lot of musicals. I wasn’t so keen about been a superstar and so I did a few things but they were mostly theater. But this year, I did say to myself, ‘if you want to be a performer, you have to learn to be an all-rounded performer’. Hence the reason I am doing more TV and film productions. This year alone, I have been involved in three films. I have another TV series called, ‘Lasgidi Cops’. I have been trying to get more screen time this year than I have done in the previous years.

Who are the actors you admire in Nigeria?

Oh, my God, this question always puts me in a fix because there are so many awesome people I admire. I actually love Rita Dominic because I feel she is interested in growing her performances. Seeing her in The Meeting was very interesting, I was very glad she took on that sort of role. I love RMD. He is so awesome; I think he is such a dedicated performer. I love Dakore; she is such a great performer. Anytime I watch her, I believe everything that she’s doing. Obviously, we have the likes of Omotola and Genevieve. I love Kalu Ikeagwu; he’s a great performer. Ha, Blessing Egbe, I can’t take my eyes of her anytime she’s on screen. There are so many great people, so many, so many great people. Also, the young performers that are coming up now are absolutely breathtaking.

What role are you playing in Shuga?

I am playing the role of Sheila. Sheila is an amazing woman; she is 27 and dating one of the major characters. She is assertive, strong minded, but she is also very soft and doesn’t raise her voice. She is a very sweet character who would stand up for what she believes in and it’s such a privi¬lege playing her because she is calm and very intelligent. I like playing intelligent characters; they are very easy to play.

What’s the difference between Sheila and Adesua?

Sheila and Adesua are quite similar. The difference is that Adesua isn’t quiet. I am not quiet from here to there, I am very playful and I do like to get along with everybody around me. I like to make people feel very comfortable. So, I am very out there. But Sheila is reserved and quiet.

What is your experience like on set?

It has been absolutely amazing. I had always wanted to be a part of a project that would touch people’s lives. A subject matter that actually matters, I always wanted to be a part of a project that teaches. A project that sends out information and Shuga is all of these things. It’s been great working with all the cast. Initially, I was a bit skepti¬cal because I thought maybe there wouldn’t be a great merger between the old and the new cast. But I realised that you couldn’t even tell the difference between who is old or new because we jell so well and we’ve become a family. So, it’s been absolutely awesome, the experience I wouldn’t trade for anything.

How did you get into the show?

I actually got invited for a close audition. I was very naive because I saw so many people I knew. You know, when you are new in the industry; you come across really good actors when you go for auditions. You will keep asking yourself questions, like ‘Jesus, how am I going to get this?’ Then, I will pray to God and say, ‘daddy, please help me out’. When I wake up in the morning, I put some anointing oil on my head and say ‘Lord, help your sister out’. I don’t play with God at all because I believe He is the one that grants favour. So, I just prepared myself, went in there, did the best that I could, went back home and waited for that call that would change things. A couple of days later, they told me I got it all and that was it.

You have the ability to quickly switch from your British accent to Nigerian accent…?

I moved to the United Kingdom when I was an adolescent. My ability to switch is quite funny, really, because people keep saying that. But here is the real thing; I believe if you want to come to Rome, you have to learn how to speak like the Romans. I don’t want to stand out because of things like accents. If I want to stand out, I want to stand out because of my work. I don’t want you to say that I am amazing because I have got a British accent. You put me in your film and see how I’ll turn things around, and obviously, I can’t use my British accent in every role I get. It won’t work like that. You have to learn to transform as a performer, you have to learn all these things. Honestly, picking up the Nigerian accent has worked in my favour. When I just came in, I sounded like I was from Warri, no offence to people from Warri. But, you know, it just sounded that way and it was really wired.

What was your perception of Nollywood before you came in?

When I came in, I thought I would be here for three months. But when you see a potential in place, only a crazy person would want to leave. I then knew I wanted to be a part of the history of Nollywood. Honestly, when I first came in, I saw a work in progress. I thought Nollywood could be a lot better. I thought there were so many things going on. But I also saw they were trying to do things that were different and I wanted to come and join them. When you are outside the country, it’s so sad to just sit there and be like ‘these people are not doing things well’. When you can come and actually be part of the change. Why stay there and complain if you are not going to do anything about it? So, I was one of the people that wanted to do something about it and I wanted to experience things first hand. I don’t want to see it from what people will tell me, I wanted to hear it myself, I like to have my own impression and not go by what the general public is saying or what they think. So, when I came here and met so many people that are passionate about the art, it was very refreshing. I enjoy being part of the art here than there, which is very shocking. But I just love the fact that people are coming in and are doing things that are different, and I want to be part of the change, I want to be part of the history, I want to be part of Nollywood’s growth. Hence the reason why I am still here and I am not going anywhere till we achieve it. Until we start getting nominated in the Oscars. They haven’t seen anything yet; we are just starting.

Are you in a relationship?

There are some things that are really personal to me and I prefer not to talk about them. So, I would not address that.

How do you handle your male friends?

It is sometimes funny because many people tend to say that most female actresses have negative reviews when it comes to attention. However, people are quite respectful of me. I never feel overwhelmed by male attention because men will always be like ‘Adesua, I love you’. It is not always like that, you get people that admire you, you can just wave and say hello. People can walk up to me and say ‘you are awesome’ and I will say ‘thank you’. It’s not anything special. I have not had any wild experiences. Maybe if I am on Instagram and someone writes rubbish, I will just delete it. Things like that don’t really bother me.

What about men who want more than just being friends with you, how do you handle them?
You know what, men (Click on the link below to read more)

PoliticsBuhari, Saraki Meet In Aso Rock by JoelNkantaBlog(op): 3:20pm On Oct 02, 2015
Three months after his controversial election as Senate president, Senator Bukola Saraki yesterday met for the first time with President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Rock, the seat of power.

He joined other dignitaries to participate in the celebration of the nation’s 55th independence anniversary, which was held at the forecourt of the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Buhari has tactically avoided Saraki, who defied the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), which was rooting for Senator Ahmad Lawan, to emerge the Senate president.

The duo has met twice since the controversial election for the Senate presidency, at the last Eidel- Fitri prayer in Abuja and the APC National Executive Committee meeting. However, yesterday’s meeting was the first time the president and Saraki would be meeting inside Aso Rock, not only since the contentious election, but since the Senate president’s trial by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) for alleged false declaration of assets.

However, despite his tactical avoidance of Saraki, the president had met at the State House on a few occasions with House of Representatives Speaker, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, who also emerged the speaker without APC’s support. The party backed former House Minority Leader, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, who was defeated in the June 9 election.

At yesterday’s ceremony, Buhari and Saraki who sat near each other, exchanged banters. There were obvious attempts by the duo to present an air of cordial relationship despite the undercurrents of the raging disagreement between them. Yesterday’s ceremony, which witnessed the change of guards by the Guards Brigade, is holding for the fifth time in the villa since former President Goodluck Jonathan shifted the event away from the Eagle Square in 2011 after a bomb attack at the venue in 2010. In an interview with State House reporters, Saraki said despite the nation’s challenges, its future was bright.

He said the National Assembly, under his leadership, would con-tinue to make laws that will impact positively on the lives of Nigerians so ensure the realisation of the expected change the people voted for. According to him, it would not be business as usual in the new dispensation.
“I am hopeful and confident that the future is very bright. In the next few years, things will be even better. “It will not be business as usual. We will ensure that the National Assembly will be people-oriented and will make laws that will make impact on Nigerians,” he added.

In his remarks, the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Mahmud Mohammed, expressed the hope that Nigeria would achieve progress under Buhari. He said Nigeria was on the right path of development, adding: “We will make it by the grace of God. We are on the right path.” Also speaking, APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, said Nigeria was on the road to progress and prosperity. “At 55, we have finally discovered that we are on the wrong road. We have finally moved to the road that leads to progress, hope, employment, prosperity and that will lead to Nigeria finally attaining that greatness that God destined it for. We are on the way,” he stated.

Before the commencement of the colourful ceremony, both Saraki and Dogara took the salute after inspecting the parade mounted by two battalions of the Guards Brigade before proceeding to take their seats. Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo also took the military salute before the arrival of Buhari at 10.05am for the kickoff of the event.

During yesterday’s ceremony, Buhari presided over the change of guards and ceremonial military colours by the Guards Brigade. The Guards Brigade is a special unit of the military specifically charged with the responsibility of the security of the president, his family members and the seat of government, the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. It is made up of four battalions. The presidential change of guards involves foot and arms drill, rhythmic and calculated steps and checking of weapons to ensure they are clean and that rounds of arms are not left in them. The ceremony also involved the colour party, comprising the national and regimental colours.

There was also 21-gun salute in honour of Buhari. The event witnessed (Click on the link below to read more)

CelebritiesAra: I’m Ready To Marry Again by JoelNkantaBlog(op): 11:40am On Oct 02, 2015
Led by her father’s counsel to study Law against her will, Aralola Olamuyiwa a.k.a. Ara, Africa’s foremost female talking drummer would later forge an incredible career from a tender age. The enigmatic musician cum drummer said she had walked away from yesterday’s gloom and ready to walk down the aisle the second time. About career, marriage and more, she speaks to LANRE ODUKOYA

You produced a film titled ‘Osunfunke’, announced on your 40th birthday celebration sometime in January. Why did you delve into the field you’re relatively unknown in?

I produced the movie and it’s been done since about two years ago. I veered into movie production because it’s still very related to showbiz, I viewed it from the angle of culture and tourism- our culture should be sufficiently projected and I wanted to showcase us coming from a cultural background myself.
I believe that Nollywood is doing so well and I realized that is a tool to derive enlightenment. If you’re from the State of Osun or you know what goes on around there culture-wise, you’d just want to jump into the next available bus to go and see- that’s if you are a lover of culture. You will be enthralled by all the historical places we spotlighted in the movie- places like, Opa Oranmiyan, Odo Fejeboju, Ijoko Ogedengbe and so on.

Is the movie on the shelves already?

No, it’s not released yet because it’s a movie we intend to take around to a lot of countries around Africa, South America and so on.

Doesn’t it seem to be taking forever to be released after two years?

The film has actually won the Best of Nollywood (BON) awards last year. It seems so to me too, but whatever is worth doing is worth doing well. It’s just one or two things that are delaying its official release. The movie will soon be released.

How soon do you mean? Could it be released before end of the year?

Yes, it will be released.

When you blazed the trail of women playing the talking drum years ago, little did we know that it would produce as many as the acolytes you have today. The proliferation of the female talking drummers seems to be dwarfing your presence, how does this make you feel?

I never heard of any female talking drummer before Ara, as at the time I picked it up. It was also a bit tough because some people felt I was encroaching. They felt that playing talking drums was not to be done by women. Having said that let me also remind you that there is time for everything. For any artiste that wants to be relevant for long, there’ll be a time you’re in the news and there will be a time to go under. You’d do other things as you reinvent yourself and return again. If you look at Michael Jackson, look at the Stevie Wonders of this world; King Sunny Ade (KSA) is doing quite a lot that y o u don’ t get to read in the newspapers.
Michael Jackson would release just one album in years and all you’d read in the newspapers are just rumours while he was busy working underground. So far so good, I’m not a hip-hop artist. What I do is something that till the world comes to an end it would still be relevant. I can afford to go off the stage for ten years and later come back and play my talking drum and I’ll remain relevant because culture never goes out of fashion. Some can leave showbiz for a few years and it would be almost impossible to come back. With what I do, I’m not in competition with anybody; I’m in my own world. Ara is a brand and Lola is different from Ara. You’re actually having this conversation with Lola.
So, I try to keep these two entities apart. I have a past, private life, a family life, I do charity, I’m a businesswoman, I set up businesses, and I do importing and exporting, contracts and whole lots of other things. I don’t earn my money from only entertainment, I diversify. For me, if you look at Lagbaja, Femi Kuti and these singers who don’t necessarily do commercial music, they don’t make their money from e n – tertainment in Nigeria and as a matter of fact, that shows that they’re not appreciated enough here. Very few Nigerians listen to quality music, extremely few listen to organized music sounds. The age group that listens to our kind of music is not loud. These are the people who make things happen in the country.
There are more people listening to the loud music, the ones you call commercial music. I feel very fulfilled and happy that much younger women now play the talking drum professionally. Many times people have asked me if I feel threatened.
Why on earth will I feel threatened? During my 40th birthday at Oriental Hotel, I invited a couple of them and I gave them my platform to ride on because obviously every one of them is yet to attain the level I’d got in my career. There’s an Association of Nigerian Female Talking Drummers and I am the president. I’ve told the members that we’re working on something that will take us all around the world.

What was the earliest thing you thought you’d do before music came along?

Music has always been a part of me because I started drumming when I was 5. That was from my primary school days and I was the head of the drama group. My dad was a banker then and we grew up in Warri, and my dad was transferred from Bendel then to a place now known as Bayelsa. I grew up in a house where my family loved music and my father had a huge music collection.
So I listened to all genres of music from a very tender age. We would a l l dance in the house with my siblings and at the end of the year; I always won the grand prize of the best dancer. I felt critically ill at some point and the doctor didn’t know what was wrong with me. I remember my late dad, who passed on two years ago, told me; “you know you want to be like Michael Jackson? If you die, you cannot become the next Michael Jackson. Promise me you will not die and I will make sure you become a superstar.”
In three days, I was back on my feet and I was on stage that week and it was in 1987. That was the first time I was performing with a band. I’d always known I was going to be an entertainer. But my dad wanted me to be a lawyer because I was very brilliant and intelligent. Of course, I got into school to study Law, I did it for a year at the University of Ilorin, and I left at the end of the first year because I wasn’t comfortable. I was apparently doing it solely for my father. I was always at the performing arts department where Mama Sofola was having rehearsals with the students.

What did you eventually study?

I went back to study English Language at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma. I was in my first semester in the third year when a management company signed me up and I had to take a transcript from there to Lagos (their satellite office at a time, but I never attended the classes) because I was in and out of the country, I had to let go because music was a bigger dream for me. As far as I was concerned, you could always return to education at any point in your life, but that opportunity wasn’t what I could miss.

You parted ways with you ex-husband a few years back, as young lady with a son, do you plan to take a second shot at marriage?

A 34 year-old man, Oamen Nelson, accused of stabbing his father: one Ehiremen Oamen, to death in the Ipaja area of Lagos, has turned himself in to the police.

It will be recalled that Nelson, who was said to be a drug addict, had allegedly stabbed his 74-year-old father, an indigene of Edo State to death during squabbles on Monday, September 21 and reportedly escaped from his father’s apartment in Block 272, Abesan Estate in Ipaja after the incident. He had also reportedly removed his father’s heart and took it away.

Nelson’s younger sister was the one who discovered her father’s corpse after finding traces of blood in the family’s sitting room. The lady, who did not want to disclose her name, had found the septuagenarian in a pool of blood. She subsequently raised the alarm.

Some neighbours and residents, who also rushed to the room to see Ehiremen, observed that there was a deep hole on the left side of his chest and later discovered that Nelson removed his father’s heart before absconding.

PoliticsPresident Buhari Appoints Self As Petroleum Minister by JoelNkantaBlog(op): 1:36pm On Sep 30, 2015
Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari is to take personal charge of the country’s crucial oil portfolio, his spokesman said on Tuesday, as a deadline loomed for him to finally nominate his cabinet.

Reports from New York, where Buhari has been attending the UN General Assembly, quoted the president as saying he would be minister of petroleum resources, with a junior minister taking charge of day-to-day affairs in the sector.

“Confirmed. He said so,” his spokesman Femi Adesina told AFP in a text message, without giving further details.
Buhari, 72, took office on May 29 after a landmark election victory against Goodluck Jonathan — the first time an opposition candidate has unseated an incumbent in the country’s history.

The former military ruler has vowed that corruption and the corrupt will have no place in his government and vetting of potential candidates has been seen as delaying his appointment of a senior ministerial team.

Buhari has made tackling the rot in the oil sector a priority, as he seeks to cut endemic graft and put the country’s crippled, crude-dependent finances on a firmer footing.

Nigeria — Africa’s number one crude producer and biggest economy — has been hit badly by a slump in global crude prices since last year, squeezing government revenue.

CrimeMum Kills Her 3 Kids To Prevent Boyfriend Leaving Her by JoelNkantaBlog(op): 11:58am On Sep 30, 2015
ANNA Duskiova, 25, killed her three newborn babies because she was worried her boyfriend might leave her.

The woman, from a village in the Czech Republic, is on trial accused of murdering her youngsters, two boys and a girl, shortly after they were born.

The court heard that the children were born healthy but Duskiova killed them and hid their bodies in the house she shared with her boyfriend, Daniel Masaryk, 47.

Dusikova confessed to the murders and claimed she was concerned her boyfriend, who didn’t want children, would leave her if he found out.

She said at the court: "I was afraid of losing my boyfriend. I told him I had some health troubles and that I could not have children."
The woman disguised her growing belly by telling Masaryk that water bloating was a side effect of her health complication.
As a result, Masaryk allegedly never noticed or suspected that she was pregnant.

Dusikova’s first baby was born in 2013 and after giving birth to the little girl in a toilet, she strangled her to death with a shoelace.
She then put the dead baby in a rucksack and hid her in the attic of the house where she lived with Masaryk.

Unbelievably, a year later, she gave birth to her second baby, a little boy, and shockingly murdered him in the same way.

Dusikova had her third baby, another boy, in 2015 but instead of killing him straight away; she hid him inside a bag of dog food.
She told the court that after the third birth she fainted because she had lost so much blood and when she woke, her son was dead.

After hiding the third baby in the attic with the other bodies, Dusikova needed medical help for her blood loss.
When she reached the hospital, doctors recognised she had given birth and raised the alarm when she couldn't explain where her baby was.
Dusikova said: I cannot explain why I did this."

The court heard that Dusikova didn’t have job and the couple regularly smoked weed and took crystal meth.

FamilyWoman Borrows Twins To Defraud Ex-commissioner by JoelNkantaBlog(op): 11:44am On Sep 29, 2015
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a woman for taking a set of four-month-old twins from their parents to defraud a retired Commissioner of Police.

Punch reports that the incident happened on Sunday in the Agege area of Lagos State.

It was learnt that the twins belonged to Mrs. Ruth Uche, who had delivered three sets of twins and had been abandoned by her husband, Emeka, before the Lagos State Government came to her rescue recently.

Ruth, who had since been reunited with her husband, was said to have been approached by the suspect, identified simply as Victoria, saying she wanted to feature the babies in a film.

It was learnt that Ruth’s husband, however, insisted that she followed Victoria to the location of the purported film.
Unknown to the Uches, Victoria, a mother of two, had an ulterior motive.

It was reported that Victoria had been engaged in an illicit relationship with the unnamed retired CP and had taken photos of the kids, which she sent to him as the products of their relationship.

On the fateful Sunday, she was said to have taken the twins to the man.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Joe Offor, who confirmed the incident, told our correspondent that the unsuspecting mother of the twins, followed Victoria to the ex-commissioner’s house.

He said Ruth and Victoria began to argue over the ownership of the babies, which raised the suspicion of the former police boss.
He said, “What happened was that the woman told the Uche family that she wanted to use the twins in a film, and they believed her.
“But Ruth’s husband insisted that she accompanied Victoria. When they got to the man’s house, Victoria told him that the twins were the products of their illicit relationship; she was expecting the man to reward her.

The list of ministers to be appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari is ready.

The Senate may get a letter from the President requesting the confirmation of the nominees on Tuesday or Wednesday.
It will be recalled that Buhari who was inaugurated as President on May 29 had promised to name members of his cabinet in September.
He had at different times said he was in search of Nigerians with integrity to be part of his team that would reposition the country.

There has been anxiety that the President may not be able to meet the September deadline as he was quoted recently as saying that the month was running to an end too fast for his liking.

Indications have however emerged that Buhari, who is currently attending the 70th United Nations General Assembly in New York, had concluded work on the list.

The list may be presented to the Senate before October 1.

FashionHow A Lady Born Without Legs Makes N220, 000 Daily by JoelNkantaBlog(op): 5:48pm On Sep 28, 2015
Most women regard their legs as part of their sex appeal. But not Kanya Sesser, the stunning 23-year-old lingerie model. Kanya was born without legs, abandoned at 1 week old, and brought up in a foster home, but even all that has not held her back.

It has not enough to take the edge off her ambition for success because Kanya now makes an average of N220, 000 (US$1000) per day as an underwear model.

Kanya is breaking down the barriers of the modelling world by showing that just because she is different, that doesn’t mean she isn’t sexy.
She defies traditional beauty standards by working as a model, and hopes to prove that “different” is sexy.

No medical explanation is given for Kanya’s condition, but she is believed to suffer from an extremely rare disease condition described as “Amelia” that presents as complete absence of an arm or leg in as a result of the limb formation process being either prevented or interrupted very early during development as a foetus in the womb.

It is believed that the Amelia syndrome appears to have a recessive pattern of inheritance—that is, the parents of the affected person each carry one copy of the mutated gene, but do not show signs and symptoms of the condition.

In a few cases, amelia may be attributed to health complications during the early stages of pregnancy, including infection, failed abortion or complications associated with removal of an Intrauterine Device after pregnancy, or use of Thalidomide.

PoliticsAmaechi Sues PDP For N300bn by JoelNkantaBlog(op): 1:03pm On Sep 23, 2015
Immediate past governor of Rivers State, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, has dragged the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, its chairman in Rivers State, Felix Obuah, and two others, before an Abuja High Court, over false allegations of ownership of foreign accounts and funds embezzlement against him.

He is seeking N300, 000, 000, 000.00 for general damages done to him over defamation of his character, reputation and person by the plaintiffs.

It will be recalled that in a press statement, the PDP in Rivers State, on August 6 and August 21, 2015, alleged that Amaechi stole $757 million or N80 billion of Rivers State public funds and stashed same away in an account in his name in Bancorp Bank in Minnesota, United States of America.

The PDP also alleged that Amaechi had embezzled millions of dollars of Rivers State money and stashed same in other foreign accounts in his name, including a bank in Switzerland.

The party claimed that the various foreign accounts operated by Amaechi were revealed by Christiane Amanpour of America’s Cable News Network, CNN.

The PDP went further to claim that Bancorp Bank, Minnesota, had written to President Muhammadu Buhari, that part of the funds was to purchase a residence for Amaechi in America and that they (Bancorp Bank) intended to return the stolen funds to Nigeria.

However, in a suit filed before an Abuja High court, FCT, Amaechi stated that each of the said malicious publications by the defendants (PDP, Felix Obuah and two others) “are untrue, motivated by ill-will and without any foundation in truth and further avers that the defendants made the said libelous publications after the PDP lost the presidential election and with a view to rubbishing him in the eyes of right thinking members of the public and the persons to whom the libelous publications have been made.”

In his statement of claims in the suit, Amaechi averred that he did not steal $757 million or N80 billion of Rivers State public funds and did not stash same away in Bancorp Bank in Minnesota, United States of America, neither did he stash away any state public funds in Switzerland.
The former governor noted that the Bancorp Bank in Minnesota, did not at any time reveal that he embezzled or misappropriated or connived in the embezzlement and misappropriation of money meant for Rivers State people in the sum of $757 million stashed away in his name with the bank.

Amaechi averred: “The Bancorp Bank, Minnesota, United States, did not write and did not communicate with President Muhammadu Buhari over any said sum of $757 million allegedly looted by the plaintiff that is kept with the bank and in Switzerland since no such money was ever looted by the plaintiff. There exists no letter which the defendants had seen written to President Buhari, by Bancorp Bank, confirming the existence, lodgment or transfer with the said Bancorp Bank and in Switzerland of the said sum in the name of the Plaintiff (Amaechi) since no such monies were ever looted by the Plaintiff.

Francis Agoda, popularly known as I Go Dye is a top draw standup comedian who has seen it all and done it all when it comes to the bling-bling world of entertainment. It is rather impossible to count the top five in the business in Nigeria without him making the count.

So, it is inconceivable to imagine there is any form of celebrity emotion or moment there is that this humour merchant hasn’t experienced before.
Talk of standing ovation, he has seen more than enough of it. Talk of autographs, he must have signed a couple of hundreds in his career. But when we ran into the comedian recently at a show, we teased him with a number of questions, ranging from his brand of jokes to being
embarrassed on stage and he didn’t disappoint as he responded to each teasing question as hilariously as it could be expected from a comedian of his calibre.

He told us bluntly, that he had never been embarrassed on stage because `he is a person who doesn’t take life seriously and thus believes it would be nearly impossible for him to get embarassed because he would have seen it as another joke’.

But when it comes to embarrassment from the female fans, I go dye says he longs to be embarassed by such cadre of people.

My ideal woman is someone who is deaf and dumb so that I cannot be talking too much or listening to too much conversations.

It will give me time to focus on my music. There is also something I learnt from Seun Kuti about marriage, he said that with development and everything, the major part of marriage is commitment and submission, appearance don’t necessarily matter.
