It was a theatre of confusion, yesterday in Aba as eight members of the the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, were allegedly shot dead by the military during their peaceful protest over the continued detention of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu, according to the spokesman of IPOB, Emma Powerful . The Director of Radio Biafra, Mr Kanu was supposed to appear at the Federal High Court Abuja, yesterday, but the much awaited case was adjourned due to the absence of the judge. The adjournment came as a shock to IPOB members, who gathered at the court premises and its environs early yesterday morning waiting to see their leader, but were sadly shocked when it was announced that the case had been postponed indefinitely. No formal communication was made to the lawyers of the detained Biafran activist and no reason was given as to why the judge was absent from the court. It would be recalled that the case was assigned to a new judge, Hon. Justice John Tsoho, after many weeks of searching for a judge. It is also not yet clear whether Justice John Tsoho abandoned this case as his colleague, Justice A. Mohammed did sometime in the past. The case has been adjourned to January 21, amidst speculation that another judge might be appointed for the controversial trial. The members and sympathizers of the leader of IPOB were gathered eagerly waiting to get a glance of the leader, but were shocked when it was announced that the court date had been adjourned. The action of the judge appeared to confirm the speculation that no judge would want to get involved in this case as their judgment may not be respected by the Department of State Services,DSS, and the Federal Government. Protests in Delta, Enugu, Abia Irked by the development, the IPOB, yesterday, defied directive of the Police on the ban of public protest/procession and staged a peaceful protest in Asaba, the State capital, Enugu and Abia over the continued detention of the Director of Radio Biafra, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu by operatives of the DSS. The protesters in Delta, who marched from Abraka Motor Park through Nnebisi Road to Okpanam Road from about 12 noon to 3:30p.m., caused serious traffic grid along Nnebisi Road as commuters, who were taking their wards from school and other road users were stranded for several hours. Speaking to Vanguard, the Delta State Coordinator of IPOB, Jonah Chukwuma, called on the Federal Government to immediately release Kanu and grant freedom to the Biafra people. His words: “We are protesting for the release of our director, our leader, Nnamdi Kanu, that the ‘zoo’ people are still holding. Let them release him now . Secondly, let them grant us our freedom because we cannot be slaves forever. “We are tired of staying in this country called Nigeria; we want our own country, which is Biafra, that is what we are agitating for. We are peaceful people, we are non-violent. As you can see, our rally is a peaceful one. We are protesting so that the whole world will hear our voice.” On why they were protesting in Asaba, Chukwuma said: “We are protesting in Asaba because Asaba is part of the Biafra land. We have about 25 states that make up Biafra and as I speak to you now, the protest is going on in these states, including Abuja.” The group also, yesterday, lashed out on the Abia State Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu and his Rivers State counterpart, Chief Nyesom Wike for their alleged directive to the security agencies in the two states not to allow them carry out their protest. Abia, Rivers govs are impositions Addressing newsmen in Nnewi, IPOB Media and Publicity Officer, Mr. Emma Powerful said the two state governors are simply seeking for the political relevance they cannot get from the All Progressives Congress, APC, led government of President Muhammadu Buhari, adding that in spite of the police threats and some governors’ directive to prevent them from holding their protests, they held combined protests in Abia, Delta and Enugu states. He said he is not surprised about the comments of the two governors because they belong to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and are not popular candidates in their states. “They were imposed on their states and may be planning to defect to APC by making comments that will make them look sympathetic to the APC government so as to retain the seats they are on the verge of losing. Aba boils over killings The Aba killings, according to our correspondents, were triggered off when the Uchenna Madu faction of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, clashed with a combined team of soldiers and policemen. The pro-Biafra groups, who had ordered markets, banks, schools and other business centres to close shop in solidarity with their protest, converged at the National High School, on Port Harcourt Road, Aba, from where they attempted to march and enforce the order, but were quickly dispersed by soldiers and policemen. The protesters later converged at the Asa Road and the Main Park area where they made bonfires and road blocks on Asa and St. Michael’s roads by Mosque and York streets, which obstructed traffic, leading to another confrontation with the security agents. Shops including banks which had opened for business hurriedly closed their shops while the roads were deserted. It was also observed that security was beefed up at the Ariaria Police Division to ensure that the pro-Biafra protesters did not burn the station, while soldiers were stationed at Milverton, Azikiwe/Asa and Port Harcourt by Ngwa Road junctions where they ordered passers-by to raise their hands. Vanguard gathered that the protesters earlier confronted the soldiers at Port Harcourt Road which led to the death of one of their members. In a similar clash around the St. Michael’s Road area, a bystander, Chidozie Okafor, was also hit by a stray bullet and he died before he could receive medical attention. Speaking on the situation, MASSOB National Welfare Officer, Jude Chukwu, said the protest was peaceful until soldiers and policemen came and started shooting and using tear gas. He added that over 30 members of pro-Biafra protesters sustained bullet wounds and are being treated in various hospitals. According to him: “The protest was peaceful until soldiers and policemen started shooting. As I’m talking to you, eight of our members have been shot dead. They should stop killing our members.. We are only protesting for the release of our detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu.” When contacted, Abia State Police spokesman, DSP Ezekiel Onyeke, who disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Habila Joshak, had been in Aba monitoring the situation, told Vanguard that 23 men and three women were arrested during the protest and urged parents to warn their children against criminal activities. Onyeke, however, said he was not aware that anybody was shot dead during the protest, adding that security agents even heard gunshots from the protesters. Delay tactics , a ploy to kill Kanu —Group However, a human rights group, Campaign for Democracy, CD, South East Zone had again called on the Federal Government to release the leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu from detention, based on the four orders of both the Wuse Zone 2 Magistrate court and the Federal High Court 6, Abuja Division. Chairman of CD in the zone, Uzor Uzor, who spoke to newsmen on phone, yesterday, in reaction to the allegation that court did not sit to deliberate on DSS’ fresh treason charge against Kanu, said the executive arm of the government should not disobey either the legislative or judicial arms of government. Uzor said it was very dangerous for the executive to disobey the judicial arm by refusing to release Kanu as ordered by the courts, adding that the implication was that the executive is now showing executive lawlessness, which is counter-productive to democracy and the rule of law. He accused the Federal Government of applying delay tactics in handling Kanu’s matter, probably as a systematic approach towards killing him in detention. He said that they would not be scared of killings or arrests until Kanu is released and Biafra is restored. Udoka Enohuean (not real names) is a self-confessed human trafficking survivor. According to her, in a bid to get a lucrative job and make life meaningful for her family, she ran into trouble as she became a prostitute in Burkina Faso. Meanwhile, the job did not give her the money she craved for. The native of Ishan, Edo State said: “I was 18 years old when a business woman in our community took some ladies and me to Burkina Faso. The initial deal was that she will take us to Senegal and then to Europe. But, surprisingly, she took us to Burkina Faso and she was nowhere to be found the following morning we arrived there. Unknown to us, she had sold us to a man”, She told her story to Sunday Vanguard during the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Church yearly programme, tagged, ‘Mgbidi 2015?” “Immediately, our heads, armpit, private parts were shaved and the hair used to initiate us into some cult. So horrifying, some of the girls went mad during the initiation. You could be asked to visit a burial ground late in the night for the ritual or sleep with a dead body. Later, we lived in a hotel where we operated as prostitutes and what we earned used to pay this man every day. Everything turned gloomy for me. I found myself in thick darkness of prostitution that I could not deliver myself from. It was a horrible situation,”the victim said. “We had a booklet each where we recorded our returns every day and once the money for which we were sold to the man was paid, which could be paid within five to nine months, freedom will be organised for such a person. “My boss took us to a native doctor who gave us some charm to protect us from being arrested by law enforcement agents, with the aid of the charm, we could manipulate men to give us more cash after sex. “Within months, I completed my payment but I was tired of such a life and I told my boss I wanted to go back home. But she refused. So I ran to the community leader for help. I also went to the Nigerian embassy in Burkinan Faso but no one listened to me. Rather, the government officials of that country arrested me and took me to Abuja where I was detained with criminals for three months in a police station. I was later paraded as a criminal.” Revenge mission “After my release, I was determined to take thousands of Nigerian girls to Burkina Faso. I became a girl-trafficker. I traveled to my village, dressing gorgeously and flaunting money to young girls. I was able to take some girls to Burkina Faso. I did this in annoyance because when I needed help, government officials refused to help me because the people involved in child-trafficking knew many security agents and they could bribe their way out. I realized if one could join the group, it was easy to take girls out of the country. ‘Traffickers take advantage of porous border’ “The Seme border was a no-go area for us because security personnel there were very strict, but we always bribed our way through the Saki border. And there was no need for international passport to cross the border at the Saki border. An identity card was enough, especially if it was accompanied by a few Naira notes and we always had a smooth journey. Most of the officers there knew we were involved in human trafficking”. Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was Thursday (January 14th) honoured by the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. He was awarded with the Presidential Award in recognition of his leadership in advancing human rights, social justice and the fight for universal freedom. The SCLC, founded by the late American Civil Right leader, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, in January 1957 is currently led by Dr. Charles Steele Jr. The event is part of the activities leading up to the celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Day on Monday, January 18th, 2016. Former President Jonathan is the first African leader to be so honored. Dr. Jonathan also received Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s sister, Naomi King during the event. Before his remarks at the event, Dr. Jonathan met privately with the president of the SCLC. The president of the SCLC, Dr. Charles Steele Jr proposed to work with the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation to advance the cause of peace around the world and to bridge the gap between people of color in the Diaspora and Africa. Former President Jonathan responded that his vision is to help stabilize and promote democracy and peace in Africa. He went on to say that without peace you can not have economic progress. He revealed that this was the reason he pushed for Nigeria’s intervention to ensure peace in various African nations such as Côte d’Ivoire while he was in office. Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and President Steele then agreed to collaborate along the lines suggested by the former Nigerian President. At the event, former President Jonathan expressed his gratitude to the SCLC for inviting him and declared that it was “virtually impossible to separate this worthy body from its founder, the late great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, or from epoch making landmark events of the American Civil Rights movement”. He also said “My personal takeaway from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, is service to God and the brotherhood and equality of all men before their Creator. In keeping with that, I have learnt not to look up to any man, except he is taller than I, or to look down on a fellow mortal, except I am admiring his shoes”. Former President Goodluck Jonathan is the Chairman of the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation and is in Atlanta, Georgia, on the invitation of a number of US institutions. <[url: http://www.primeviewsng.com]>

A YOUNG mum told her family she was taking her toddler on a beach holiday to Turkey - and fled to Syria to become a martyr with Islamic State, a court heard yesterday. Tareena Shakil, 26, became obsessed with the terror group and dumped her husband of four years and travelled to join the death cult with her tot. She was given a home in the ISIS's self-styled capital Raqqa and planned to marry a terrorist fighter and give birth to "Lions" - the next generation of jihadis. During a four month stay there she dressed her tot in clothes with the ISIS logo and took photos of the child with guns. The court heard Shakil took pictures of herself and her toddler posing with an AK47 in Syria and messaged saying her tot had learned to say "Allahu Akbar". She left a letter at home saying, "If you are reading this then I am long gone," and said from Syria she was "sacrificing herself" for her family. She sent her husband Samim Ali-Nagi back in Birmingham a photo of their 14-months-old child wearing a balaclava and bragged he could say 'allah hu akbar" - the Islamic phrase for "God is great". She also revealed in social media posts from the ISIS stronghold she intended to die a martyr. Shakill had told her husband before she left in October 2014 she would meet him again in "jannah" - the martyrs heavenly paradise. In one telling post from Raqqa two months after she disappeared she wrote:"I can leave but I don't want...I want to die here as a martyr...there are blessings to being a martyr." But a jury was told after several months in Syria Shakil became disenchanted with the terrorist life and told her husband she was missing him. She had been unable to find a terrorist husband - and turned down an Italian jihadi because he didn't have enough hair. In January last year she claimed she had fled the terror group to make her way back to the UK and was held at a detention camp in Turkey. She flew back to Britain the following month - after giving and interview to the Sun - and was arrested on arrival at Birmingham Airport. Shakill, from Burton-Upon-Trent, Staffs told police she had been kidnapped in Turkey after falling in love with an Arab called "Ahmed" who took her across the border in to Northern Syria to join ISIS who held her against her will. But a jury at Birmingham crown court heard she had been radicalised and a series of social media messages she sent from Raqqa proved she was lying and had been a willing volunteer desperate to join the terror organisation. Shakill is the first British woman to be charged with terrorist offences since returning from Syria. She denies encouraging acts of terrorism on Twitter in the days before she fled the UK in October 2014 and of being a member of ISIS. Prosecutor Sean Larkin QC told the court: "In 2014 she was a student living with her husband and son. In the course of that year, she became more and more interested in extremist Islamic material. She became radicalised. She left her friends and family and took her young child to Raqqa in Syria – the capital of ISIS territory - and joined ISIS. She had booked a return flight for herself and child but she was not going to come back,"said Mr Larkin. Mr Larkin went on to say how she had visited a blog on numerous occasions called “Diary of a Mujahira” which gave tips on how to raise a child to be a future fighter. He also detailed how she either married or arranged to marry an ISIS mujahideen fighter and was given a house. He said: “She dressed her toddler in clothing with the ISIS logo. For months, this was her life. She told different people that she was happy – that she loved it – she even said that she wanted to be a martyr." But the jury heard within a few months Shakill was heading back to the UK - with a false account of her time in Syria. Mr Larkin said: "In January she left Raqqa and crossed back into Turkey where she was detained for a few weeks. In February 2015, she returned to UK where she was arrested. "She claimed that she took her child to Turkey for a holiday fully intending to return to UK. When in Turkey she met a young man called Ahmed and she became romantically involved with him.” But she claimed she and her child had been kidnapped after arranging to meet Ahmed at a point near the Syrian border. The court heard Shakil made numerous social media posts glorifying IS before she fled to join the group. The prosecutor said on 2 September 2014, Shakil had posted a tweet to a Twitter account ‘UmmHussainAlBritani’ sayig ‘I wish I was there’. Shakil flew out to Turkey with her child wearing Western clothing to avoid attracting suspicion. While in Syria she continued to send messages back to her family and friends and told of her search for a husband amongst the terror cult. One jihadi attracted (Click on the link below to read more) <[url: http://www.primeviewsng.com]>

ISIS fighters who fled to the terror group’s Iraqi stronghold of Mosul after being defeated in Ramadi were burned alive in the town square. Sources told FoxNews.com, in an unmistakable message to fighters who may soon be defending the northern city from government forces. Several residents of Mosul recounted the grisly story for stateside relatives, describing the deadly reception black clad jihadists got when they made it to Mosul, some 250 miles north of the city retaken by Iraqi forces operating with cover from US air power. “They were grouped together and made to stand in a circle,” a former resident of northern Iraq now living in the US but in touch with family back home told FoxNews.com. “And set on fire to die.” Several Iraqi-Americans and recent refugees with close relatives in Mosul told of ISIS fighters fresh off defeat in Ramadi being shunned – and executed – for not fighting to the death in Ramadi. Michael Pregent, a terrorism expert and former intelligence adviser to Gen. David Petraeus in Iraq, said such an act isn’t new for the callous terror group. A similar fate was meted out to fighters who lost Saddam’s hometown to Kurdish forces last year. “There is no surprise on executing ISIS fighters from Ramadi,” he said. “They did the same to fighters after Tikrit.” The retaking of Ramadi, the capital of the mainly Sunni-populated Anbar Province which ISIS took over last May, was a major setback for ISIS. Just 80 miles west of Baghdad, the city was overrun by ISIS in June, 2014. Iraqi forces, fighting with Sunni tribes and supported by coalition forces, recently took it back but the city remains in ruins. Booby-traps, landmines and a broken infrastructure have rendered it mostly uninhabitable for the time being. With government, Kurdish and coalition forces now mustering to recapture Mosul, which fell to ISIS approximately 18 months ago, an increasingly paranoid ISIS has stepped up its murders of women and children, according to people trapped in the city. “They come to the house and take the children and accuse them of being spies,” said a stateside Iraqi with knowledge of the situation. “If the mom cries and gets upset at them, they accuse of her being a spy too and take her to the jail and later kill her.” The terrorist group is feeling the heat of a coming onslaught, said Pregent. “ISIS is fracturing, paranoid from within,” Pregent continued, noting that ISIS has two intelligence directorates – one for internal threats the other for external ones – and both are focused on unearthing “threats” to their existence within areas under their thumb. “They are using women and children executions to intimidate – the harsher the tactic the more desperate the leadership is.” Clint Watts, Fox fellow of the Foreign Policy Research Institute, agreed. “They continue to lose territory, we’ve seen a growing number of defections and a rise in the number of alleged internal spies – many of whom they have killed mercilessly without demonstrating significant evidence of internal espionage,” he explained. “ISIS pattern of internal killings looks remarkably similar to al Shabaab’s decline in Somalia. As Shabaab lost ground and defectors increased, internal killings and harsher punishments were meted out across the terror group further accelerating the loss of local popular support.” Earlier this year, activist group Mosul Eye reported that ISIS committed mass executions of men and children at Alhud Village just south of Mosul, accusing the entire township of apostasy and affiliation to the local Iraqi police forces. In late December, several teenagers aged between 12 and 16 were reportedly caught trying to flee across the Tigris River toward the Kurdish region, and subsequently accused of being “spies” by ISIS and within minutes publicly executed in front of their families. As it stands, communications within the besieged city remain spotty, but many (Click on the link below to read more) <url: http://www.primeviewsng.com]>

A CHINESE tourist in Thailand was left screaming in terror after a snake bit her face in shocking video. The woman was attempting to kiss the 8 foot long python when the scaly serpent sudden lashed out and sank its fangs into her. The crowd at the show in the popular tourist island of Phuket can be heard shrieking in horror as reptile latches onto the distraught woman’s face. The shows organiser, Sarawut Toompo, has blamed the tourist, Jin Jing, 29, for the incident, claiming: "I had just finished the demonstration and was arranging for tourists to have their picture taken with the snake when suddenly she tried to kiss it without warning me in advance. "The snake was just trying to defend itself, it thought the woman was going to bite him so he bit first." He said that even if she had asked, he would not have allowed it as it was not company policy to let tourists kiss snakes, adding: "I have never had a snake bite anyone for this." Footage of the incident went viral around the world prompting local officials to announce an investigation. Now the owner of the snake is being prosecuted for illegal possession of a protected species. After police looked into the incident they found that the snake was being illegally detained. Songchai Thongboonyang, of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation’s Protected Area Office, explained: "We inspected the company’s documents and discovered that the owner of the snake, Pairoj Thiprod, 47, had recently purchased the reptile from a farm in Bangkok and had yet to register the protected species." Mr Adeyinka Adeniyi, the Trade Marketing Consultant, MTN in Abuja told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in a telephone interview that collection of any fee or fine during the process of registration was illegal. He said that nobody should pay any money for registration “because there is nothing like registration fee’’. He was reacting to complaints by some subscribers that they were asked to pay N100 at an MTN outlet in Phase 3, Kubwa, a satellite town in Abuja. It would be recalled that MTN had been sending out text messages to subscribers to register their SIMs and compensation ranging from NI000 to N20, 000 are being sent to them. However, long queues still persisted in most of the registration outlets visited by NAN as subscribers waited patiently to register their SIM cards. At the Garki 11 outlet, subscribers were seen on long queues as they registered their SIM cards. Some of the subscribers however told NAN that they were tired of the exercise because of the long wait on the queues. Mrs Patience Okojie said that she woke up as early as 5.a.m. to come out for the registration but on getting to the place her number was 235. She called on MTN to find a better and quicker way of carrying out the exercise to avoid stress and hardship. Vanguard has reported that the naira, Wednesday, depreciated further to N305 per dollar as scarcity of dollars intensified in the parallel market. From an average of N287 per dollar on Tuesday, the parallel market exchange rate rose to an average of N305 per dollar across the country. Since Monday when the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) stopped weekly dollar sales to Bureaux De Change (BDCs), the naira has been depreciating against the dollar. BDC sources who confirmed the development to Vanguard however said that the exchange rate situation is uncertain as the rate changes from time to time. Vanguard investigation revealed that though the exchange rate touched N305 in major cities like Lagos, Abuja and Kano, it dropped slightly to between N295 and N300 per dollar in Lagos and Abuja at the close of business, while it closed at N305 in Kano. Chief Executive Officer, H.J Trust BDC, Mr. Harrison Owoh, told Vanguard that the market is fluid. “You cannot quote rate for anybody now because the rate is changing every time.” An Abuja based BDC Operator who spoke to Vanguard on condition of anonymity said that the rate closed in Abuja at N298 but was above N300 during the day. He however said that it was difficult to quote any specific rate now as the situation is unpredictable. He opined that the rate would stabilised by next week, when the market would have absorbed the impact of the new CBN policy. <[url: http://www.primeviewsng.com]>

A FITNESS trainer is fuming that her daughter stopped eating after a school wrote to her telling her she was fat. Amelya Lyndsay, 35, got a letter saying 11-year-old Olivia had her height and weight measured and was deemed overweight. The nutritional therapist and personal trainer from Truro, Cornwall, says her daughter was so upset by the results she refused to eat for two days. Olivia was tested at Trewirgie County Junior School in Redruth as part of the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP). NCMP is co-ordinated by Cornwall Council's Public Health team and measures children in their first and last years at local primary schools. But Amelya says Olivia only eats healthy food and is one of the tallest children in her year at 5ft 2inches. She said: “After receiving the letter she was so distraught, I had to pull out my notes from university to convince her that she has no problem as she refused to eat anything for two days. "We never eat processed foods as I am always really careful of our diets, having a background in nutrition. "It is unbelievable how much damage can be done by this programme. They never bothered to investigate what my background was, despite staff being aware of what I actually do for living." Olivia said: "I feel quite annoyed about it because it isn't that accurate and it's not that nice, I just felt really bad because I read the letter and was basically being called overweight by the NHS." An NCMP statement said: "The results are sent home in a confidential letter to the parents and not to the child. "It is a parent's decision to share the information, we are more than happy to provide advice and support about how to do this in the most supportive way, causing the least distress to the child. "NCMP measurements are clinical measurements that a GP would use as an initial assessment of child body mass.” Amelya has not revealed Olivia's exact results, but she had a score which was just above the normal BMI range. <[url: http://www.primeviewsng.com]>

Glenn Williams, 67, was left with the gigantic bulge after he went under the knife when he was diagnosed with bowel cancer. He spent two years with the 8in by 12in hernia, which popped out every time he coughed. The giant lump was so bad that Glenn was accused of shoplifting because store detectives thought he was stashing stolen goods under his clothing and people often asked him why he had a football under his jumper. But the pensioner has finally had the hernia, which was 10 times bigger than the usual size, removed after he had a six-hour operation using a ground-breaking new procedure. Glenn, from Leicester, said: "At last I can look in the mirror again and not find my reflection repulsive. "I am (Click on the link below to read more) <[url: http://www.primeviewsng.com]>

A human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), said on Sunday that there was no legal justification for the re-arrest of the immediate past National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), and the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, after they were granted bails by different courts. Falana in a statement said as a President who won an election on the promise to fight corruption and end impunity, President Muhammadu Buhari was duty-bound to ensure that all organs and agents of government respected the law. The senior advocate added that the President should restrain overzealous security personnel from engaging in impunity that could expose the government to undue embarrassment. Falana said, “One of the reasons why Nigerians voted for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), during the last general elections was his promise to fight corruption and end impunity in the country. Upon winning the election, President Buhari further pledged to abide by the Rule of Law. “To that extent, he has a duty to ensure that all organs and officials of the government operate within the ambit of the law. In particular, he should not allow overzealous security personnel to engage in any form of impunity and thereby expose the government to unwarranted embarrassment.” He said in the cases of Dasuki and Kanu, the only option open to government if aggrieved with the bails granted them, was to appeal against the court rulings. “He was eventually charged with money laundering and criminal diversion of huge sums of public fund before the Federal High Court and the Federal Capital Territory High Court at Abuja. Notwithstanding the gravity of the offences, both courts have admitted him to bail. “But after he had met the bail conditions, the DSS decided to re-arrest him at the gate of Kuje prisons on the ground that investigations have not been concluded in respect of other criminal allegations.” <[url: http://ww.primeviewsng.com]>

Kelechi Icheanacho and Arouna Kone were both on the mark in FA Cup action in England helping their clubs, Manchester City and Everton, into the fourth round. In France Rachid Ghezzal of Algeria nabbed an outstanding goal for Lyon and there was a brace for Congolese international Cedric Bakambu for Sporting Lisbon. ENGLAND KELECHI IHEANACHO (Manchester City) Teenage Nigerian striker Iheanacho scored his fifth goal of the season as City cruised into the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 3-0 win away to Premier League rivals Norwich City. The 19-year-old scored his side’s second goal in the 31st minute, steering a shot into the bottom-right corner from strike partner Sergio Aguero’s pass. AROUNA KONE (Everton) Kone set Everton on their way to a routine 2-0 home victory over fourth-tier Dagenham and Redbridge at Goodison Park. The 32-year-old Ivorian striker broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute with a close-range header from Bryan Ovideo’s right-wing free-kick. MUSTAPHA CARAYOL (Leeds United) Gambian debutant Carayol opened the scoring with a blistering strike as Leeds booked their place in round four with a 2-0 victory over fellow Championship side Rotherham United. The winger, who recently arrived at Elland Road on loan from Middlesbrough, sent a vicious shot crashing into the top-right corner from the left-hand apex of the penalty area. SOULEYMANE DOUKARA (Leeds United) Carayol’s Senegalese team-mate Doukara put the seal on Leeds’s win in the 90th minute following a defensive mix-up. As a Rotherham defender attempted to shepherd the ball back to goalkeeper Lee Camp, Doukara stole in to nick the ball before rolling it into an empty net. FRANCE RACHID GHEZZAL (Lyon) The Algerian winger scored the second goal in Lyon’s 4-1 thumping of Troyes which opened the club’s new 59,000-seater stadium. The 23-year-old Ghezzal swivelled inside the area and struck a sweet left-footed effort beyond goalkeeper Paul Bernardoni. JOHN TSHIBUMBU (Gazelec Ajaccio) Congo striker Tshibumbu hit Gazelec’s second goal for a 2-0 lead at Monaco before being pegged back for 2-2. The point was enough to take the promoted team five points clear of the drop zone. Tshibumbo, 27, starred in the Corsicans’ 2014-2015 campaign, scoring twice in the 3-2 win over over Niort which secured promotion last May. SPAIN CEDRIC BAKAMBU (Villarreal) Congolese international striker Cedric Bakambu struck twice to take his tally in his debut season in Spain to 12 as Villarreal beat Sporting Gijon 2-0 on Sunday to register their sixth consecutive La Liga win. LASS BANGOURA (Rayo Vallecano) Guinean winger Lass Bangoura came off the bench to set up Pablo Hernandez’s consolation goal as Rayo slipped deeper into relegation trouble with a 2-1 defeat at Levante. ITALY KEITA BALDE (Lazio) Keita Balde was given a rare start for Lazio and repaid coach Stefano Pioli’s faith by breaking the deadlock on the stroke of half-time away to title challengers Fiorentina. Fiorentina coach Paulo Sousa admitted the goal “weighed heavily” on the hosts and Spanish-born Senegalese striker was only replaced in the final few minutes when Anderson came off the bench to hit Lazio’s third to secure a shock 3-1 win. UMAR SADIQ (Roma) Roma starlet Umar Sadiq was given his second successive start by Roma coach Rudi Garcia and forced AC Milan ‘keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma into a spectacular parry after a matter of seconds at a sparsely-attended Stadio Olimpico on Saturday. The 18-year-old Nigerian remained a threat in a tense encounter but failed to find the net for a third successive game as it ended 1-1. <[url: http://www.primeviewsng.com]>

MOST people these days are practically glued to their smartphone - and would find it very difficult to give it up. But Dr. Devra Davis, an American scientist who has been studying the effects of mobile phone radiation for many years, has warned that your mobile phone could be doing you more harm than good. In a talk at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, she said: "The pattern of putting cellphones in the bra, and now there's a new device where you can actually have the phone strapped to your head, made me concerned about what we know about exposure to phones." Dr. Devra says that mobile phone-like radiation is being used positively in the medical field to treat liver cancer, detect cancer and enhance the absorption of drugs in the brain. But the reason it is able to do this is because the radiation breaks down the blood brain barrier, which prevents the brain from foreign substances that may injure it. The radiation can also damage DNA, affect male fertility and change the brain's metabolism. And that's not all - researchers have also found that mobile phone use can contribute to the development of depression, diabetes and heart irregularities. Dr. Devra also speaks of a specific case where a young woman developed breast tumours exactly the same shape as the mobile phone she'd been tucking into her bra. And it's not just your bra that you shouldn't be putting your phone into - even storing it in your pocket could be dangerous. In fact, Dr. Devra reveals that the small print in your iPhone manual explicitly advises against this - while a study showed that doing so can weaken the pelvic area nad reduce bone density. So, maybe it's time to break things off with your smartphone - or at least start keeping it in your bag. <[url: http://www.primeviewsng.com]>

The Federal Government on Friday in Abuja said the mortality rate of the re-emergence of Lassa fever has increased to 43.2 per cent and has claimed the lives of five more people. With the development, the death toll has now hit 40 as against 35 that was recorded on Thursday, thereby bringing the total number of reported cases to 86. The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, at a news conference, also stated that two more states, namely Plateau and Gombe, had been affected by the disease, which is in its sixth week. Meanwhile, laboratories have confirmed 17 cases, which are indicative of a new outbreak of the disease as 80 per cent of human infections are asymptomatic. Adewole said, “The total number of reported cases, so far, is 86 while there have been 40 deaths, with a mortality rate of 43.2 per cent. Our laboratories have confirmed 17 cases, indicative of a new roundtrip of Lassa fever outbreak.” According to him, modalities have been put in place to curb the spread of the disease, which can also occur and be transmitted in health facilities where infection prevention and control practices are not observed. The measures, according to the Minister, include “immediate release of adequate quantities of Ribavirin, the specific antiviral drug for Lassa fever to all the affected states for prompt and adequate treatment of cases.” He said, “We have deployed rapid response teams from the ministry to all the affected states to assist in investigating and verifying the cases, as well as tracing contacts. Clinicians and relevant health workers had been sensitised and mobilised in areas of patient management and care in the affected states, as well as intensifying awareness creation on the signs and symptoms, including preventive measures such as general hygiene.” Adewole said Nigeria has the capability to diagnose Lassa fever as all reported cases were confirmed in the nation’s laboratories. “However, due to the non-specific nature of Lassa fever symptoms and varied presentations, clinical diagnosis is often difficult and delayed, especially in the early course of the disease outbreak,” he added. He, therefore, advised the public to “avoid contact with rodents/rats as well as food/objects contaminated with rats’ secretion and excretions.” He urged the public to “also avoid drying food in the open and along the roadside.” He said the World Health Organisation had been notified of the confirmed cases while calling on health care workers, who are expected to ensure that all patients are treated freely, to immediately contact the state epidemiologists in the state ministry of health or call the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and the Federal Ministry of Health. Lassa fever is an acute febrile illness, with bleeding and death in severe cases, caused by its virus, which has an incubation period of six to two days. About 80 per cent of human infections are asymptomatic; the remaining cases have severe multi-system disease, where the virus affects several organs in the body, such as the liver, spleen and kidneys. The onset of the disease is usually gradual, starting with fever, general weakness, and malaise followed by headache, sore throat, muscle pain, chest pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, cough, and bleeding from mouth, nose, vagina or gastrointestinal tract, and low blood pressure. The reservoir or host of the Lassa virus is the “multimammate rat” called Mastomys natalensis which has many breasts and lives in the bush and peri-residential areas. Meanwhile, Lassa fever panic has hit Plateau State as cases have been reported in five local government areas of the state. One person has already been reported dead in Jos, the state capital. Although the area where the person died was kept in guided secret, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Kuden Kamshak, said (Click on the link below to read more)

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested a former Military Administrator of Kaduna State, Brig.-Gen. Jafaru Isah (retd.), in connection with the ongoing investigation into the $2.1bn arms procurement scam. The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the arrest and detention of the former military governor to one of our correspondents in Abuja on the telephone on Thursday. Isah, a close associate of President Muhammadu Buhari, was the governorship candidate of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change in Kano State in 2011. CPC was founded by Buhari to actualise his bid for the Presidency in the 2011 general elections. The party asked a son of the late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, Mohammed, to step down for Isah in the party’s governorship contest. Isah is the first chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress to be arrested by the EFCC since the Buhari administration started investigation into the $2.1bn arms procurement funds under the former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration. He was a member of the Ahmed Joda-led transition committee, constituted by Buhari to coordinate the handing over notes by the immediate past administration before the President was inaugurated on May 29, 2015. The retired general is also believed to be close to a former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.). Confirming the arrest of Isah, the EFCC spokesman said, “It is true that the man is with us. That is the much I can tell you.” The EFCC spokesman did not give details of the arrest. It was, however, gathered that Isah was picked up by operatives of the commission in Abuja on Wednesday night and detained overnight to respond to issues linking him to the $2.1bn arms purchase fund. It was learnt that the former MILAD’s arrest might not be unconnected with a “$5m gift” he allegedly received from the former NSA. A top EFCC source, who confided in The PUNCH, said Isah was invited last week, but failed to honour the invitation of the anti-graft agency. The source added that the commission had begun quizzing the former military administrator on the possibility that the money might have been given to him by Dasuki from the $2.1bn arms fund. The source added that nothing had been established, saying Isah’s arrest was to “listen to his own side of the story.” The source added, “He was invited last week, but he did not honour the EFCC’s invitation. He is being quizzed over the $5m he was alleged to have received from the former NSA. The former military administrator was arrested because he did not honour the invitation of the commission.” The Chairman of EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, had said, during a meeting with online media managers on Wednesday, that more influential Nigerians would soon be arrested. Magu had debunked the insinuations that the arrests made so far in the ongoing campaign against corruption were selective, targeting the Peoples Democratic Party leaders and leaving their counterparts in the ruling All Progressives Congress. “Such accusations have come up a lot, but we work with petitions before us. In fact, I am eager and waiting for something from the other side, but nothing has come so far,” he was quoted as having said. In a related development, a Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday granted bail to a former Chairman of the PDP, Haliru Bello, and his son, Abba Bello, in the sum of N300m each with two sureties in like sum. Justice Ahmed Mohammed, in a ruling on the accused persons’ bail applications, also ordered that they should deposit their passports with the court pending the determination of their trial. The EFCC on Tuesday arraigned Bello and his son, accusing them of collecting about N300m meant for the procurement of arms and using the funds for political campaigns. The anti-graft agency alleged that the money was received from the Office of the National Security Adviser under Dasuki, under the guise of using it for “safe houses”. Also charged along with them is their firm, Bam Project Properties. The judge, in his ruling on Thursday, ordered Bello to remain under the the close watch of the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, at the Abuja Clinics, Maitama, where his injury, resulting from spinal surgery, was being treated, pending when he would meet the bail conditions. But the court directed that Abba, who also complained of arthritis and asthma, be remanded in Kuje Prison pending when he would fulfil his own set of bail terms. The judge also ruled that one of the sureties that Bello, who is the acting Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, should produce must be a director in the service of the Federal Government or any of its agencies. He ruled that the other surety must own property in Abuja worth the N300m bail sum. With respect to the son’s bail, Justice Mohammed ruled that one of his sureties must be a federal civil servant not less that Grade Level 12 and the other must also own property worth N300m in the Federal Capital Territory. The judge ruled that the title documents of the property to be presented by the sureties would be verified by court officials and surrendered to the court throughout the period the trial would last. He also directed that the sureties must submit their passport photographs to the court and also swear to separate affidavits of means disclosing their financial wherewithal. Dismissing EFCC’s opposition to the accused persons’ bail applications on Thursday, Justice Mohammed said the commission had not denied that the offences the accused persons were charged with were bailable. “In other words, there is nothing that suggests that the offences the defendants were charged attract capital punishment,” the judge noted. He also dismissed the argument by EFCC’s lawyer, Mr. Aliyu Yusuf, who had contended that the accused persons could interfere with further investigations into the alleged fraud if granted bail. The judge noted that the EFCC, having deposed to an affidavit of completion of investigation, “there is no pending investigations the defendants can interfere with”. He added, “The complainant (EFCC) has not shown that the defendants claim of ill health is false.” He reasoned that the prosecution’s claim that the conditions of the accused persons could be treated at the prisons health facilities could not be grounds for denying them bail. “In all, I’m satisfied that the defendants are entitled to bail,” the judge ruled. Abba’s counsel, Mr. O. Osoko, and the lawyer for Bello, Mr. Abdulaziz Ibrahim, had argued that their clients were presumed innocent until pronounced guilty by the court. The lawyers, relying on the provisions of Section 162 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015, had urged the court to grant bail to their clients, considering their “special circumstances” of ill health. The court, after delivering its ruling on Thursday, fixed February 16 for the commencement of trial. In the charge FHC/ABJ/CR/389/2015, the accused persons allegedly received the sum of N300m from the office of the former National Security Adviser on March 17, 2015 for political campaign under the pretext that it was meant for “Safe Houses”. The prosecution stated in the first count that the N300m collected by the accused was part of proceeds of Dasuki’s unlawful activities. Dasuki and many others are already being prosecuted before two judges of the Federal Capital Territory High Court., Maitama, Abuja, in relation to the diversion of a total sum of N45bn meant for procurement of arms. The prosecution alleged in the second count that the accused persons received the money under the guise that it was meant for “Safe Houses” but was actually released to them for political campaign. Counts one and two are said to be offences contrary to Section 15 (2) (d) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act 2011 as amended in 2012 and punishable under Section 15(3) of the same Act. In count three, the accused persons allegedly concealed the money in their Sterling Bank Plc account when they “knew the said Doctor Aliru Bello and Col. Mohammed Sambo Dasuki (retd.) to be engaged in a criminal conduct”. The offence is said to be contrary to Section 17 (a) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act 2011 as amended in 2012 and punishable under Section 17(b) of the same Act. Meanwhile, the acting Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, on Thursday, visited the Presidential Villa, Abuja. It was the second time in 24 hours that Magu would be sighted in the Presidential Villa since he was named as replacement for Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde in acting capacity. The EFCC boss, accompanied by his police orderly, walked straight towards the President’s office (Click on the link below to read more) <[url: http://www.primeviewsng.com]>

Movie star and last son of veteran actor, Pete Edochie, Yul, appears as a young man whose career path had been shaped from childhood. But ask him, he will say ‘it wasn’t rosy at all’. In an interview with TS Weekend, the happily married father of three shares his experience on set with pretty actresses, his journey to Tinsel, family and lots more. Excerpts: Aside the actor we see on the screen, who is Yul Edochie? I am a very simple guy. From the assessment of myself, I think I love life. I love enjoying myself and I would say I am not really a bad person because I don’t engage in bad stuff. I love peace. I love it when everywhere is peaceful and people are happy. I try as much as possible to preach peace in everything I do. I would rather walk away from anything that is going to cause problems. I am very down to earth. A lot of people have this wrong impression about me, but I am not like that. We build this world around us for protection, but by the time you come close to me, you will see that I’m very down to earth. I try to be very friendly. No matter what I have achieved, it doesn’t get to my head. I still hang out with folks and old friends. I am just the very easy-going person who is always happy, hardly gets angry. I am Pete Edochie’s last son. My full names are Yul Chukwubuike Daniel Edochie. My father named me after an American actor. In fact, we were all named after foreign actors. How was growing up like with him as a father? It feels good. Growing up was really good with him as a father. Your father appears very strict in movies, is that how he is at home? He is extremely very strict, but I thank God that He gave me a father like him. I couldn’t have wished for a better father. He is a strict Catholic, so a lot of things I know today, I learnt because of my background. Like I told you, I would rather die than dope. Kill me but I won’t take cocaine, and that’s how my father is. My father made us to understand that it is better to have a good name. Good name will get you riches and everything you need. That’s the kind of family I was raised in, and my mum too is very strict. There wasn’t much money then to throw around, but we grew up loving each other and God. What is the biggest thing the surname ‘Edochie’ has done for you? Lots of it though, but I think my own name paved a way for me too. That was why at a point; I don’t tell people I am Pete Edochie’s son. I had my reasons then. I am blessed and I also get recognition being Pete Edochie’s son. And I try as much as possible not to mess up the name. Tell us about growing up? I was born in Lagos. I think my mother was in Law School then, and after that, I was brought down to Enugu. That was where we grew up. But we were always going to Lagos and Port Harcourt. How would you rate the year 2015? It has been quite good. Pharmatex Industry endorsed me. I also got on Tinsel. In fact, there were other stuffs I got into in the year, but you know, one doesn’t need to blow his trumpet. But in all, God has been awesome. It has always been my dream that someday, I’d be on Tinsel, and my dream has actually turned a reality. Why did the drugs company pick you? Yea, I remember I asked the Managing Director of the company, ‘why me?’ And he said that it’s because I have a good reputation and lots of people like me. I was quite impressed, but to be honest, keeping up a clean slate in the entertainment industry is not an easy task. People who don’t know you are so quick to judge and even call you a snub. How does being a part of Tinsel make you feel? I feel good. I have been a fan of Tinsel for seven years; I am one of their biggest fans. Being part of their cast is a great achievement for me. What actually happened to your brother, Linc Edochie? Yeah, Linc started before me. He started like a year before I got into Nollywood but later left to do something else. So, I would say we all have our own destinies. Do you think you are going to leave the industry anytime soon? No, I am not even thinking about that. Never! I studied Theatre Arts and I took my time to read this, so I didn’t just get in. Maybe you will take it to another step like directing and producing? Definitely but not producing. I don’t like doing things that I can’t do. I have passion for acting and I also have passion for directing, but I don’t have passion for producing. So, if I want to do my own films, like right now I am planning to do my own films. I am going to get a producer who is very good at that. I’ll pay the producer to run everything but he is going to be professional. So, I won’t say because it is my film, let me do everything; and then I will mess it up. Have you experienced any form of embarrassment from your female fans? I don’t see them as embarrassment. Actually, a lot of people do a lot of things. One happened recently when a girl saw me and wanted to take pictures with me. The next thing was that, she kissed me so deeply and passionately right in front of my wife. I am so lucky; I have a wife who understands. You kiss so much in movies, how do you get off that feeling after the shoot? I feel nothing. For me, it’s all about work. Some people say they kiss and other things get attached; but for me, I don’t feel anything at all. During the shoot, I just ‘die’ and wear the character I am playing, by the time we are done and I come back to myself, I feel nothing. Funny enough, all those romance scenes, there are about five or more crew members in the bedroom with you, so how comfortable would you be to start feeling something else? (Laughs). Aside that, you still have lines in your head that you are battling to remember. So my dear, the supposed feelings would be far dead and gone. How have you been coping exchanging saliva through deep kissing with different actresses in different movies? At a point, I had to limit the kissing scenes I play. I know I did a lot of that while I was still young in the industry. But at a stage in my career, I rejected a lot of roles that had to do with kissing and romancing. I can do romance scenes for you, perfectly without kissing. I can act that I am madly in love with a girl, without getting so romantic with her. I often talk to the director to let me have it my own way, which is not kissing the actress in question, and they would let me. At the end of the day, the film would come out well. Assuming that in the script, it was clearly stated that you are to kiss the actress, don’t you think she would feel offended if you skip that part? This is exactly what happens when you are not trained. It has actually happened to me and caused lots of issues on set. I know lots of actresses look forward to kissing me on set. This particular one (Click on the link below to read more) <[url: http://www.primeviewsng.com]>

Daily Sun reorts that traders under the auspices of South-East Amalgamated Marketers Traders Association (SEAMATA) have condemned Lagos State Government’s demolition of Electrical and Electronics Market in Oshodi. Reacting to the demolition, President of SEAMATA, Chief Okwudili Ezenwankwo said in Onitsha that Lagos State Government did not give the traders time to remove their goods before moving bulldozers to pull down their shops. He demanded compensation from the state to traders whose shops and goods were destroyed during the market demolition, which mostly affected Igbo traders. Ezenwankwo reiterated that the traders were not given enough notice and time to evacuate their goods before the demolition, and wondered why only few days’ notice was given to the traders after which they were not allowed to enter the market. He also wondered why the demolition was carried out at a time traders travelled to their various hometowns for Christmas and New Year celebrations. “Lagos State should have given the traders more time to relocate their goods before demolishing the market. The traders there are mostly Igbo, who travelled home for Christmas and New Year celebrations. Why did the demolition take place in absence? What will be the fate of those who lost their goods? We condemn the demolition of the market now and demand compensation to those who lost goods to the demolition.” It was gathered that the state government had earlier given the traders notice to relocate to the new market built by the government which some of the traders denied. <[url: http://www.primeviewsng.com]>

Here are Emotional and Physical Benefits of Frequent Sex When it comes to frequency of sex, the old adage of "just do it" is backed up by science. More and more studies show increased emotional and physical benefits from frequent safe sex. Did you know that sex can ease your headache? Michele Weiner-Davis: "At first, many were understandably cautious about my Nike-style approach to their sex life; the 'Just Do It' advice ran counter to everything they had believed about how sexual desire unfolds ... I could often see the relief on people's faces when they learned that their lack of out-of-the-blue sexual urges didn't necessarily signify a problem. It didn't mean there was something wrong with them or that something was missing from their marriages. It just meant that they experienced desire differently." Source: Michele Weiner-Davis. A MAN strangled and dismembered his wife, entombed her head in a concrete block and then used it as a weight to drown himself in a lake. The 72-year-old German pensioner – who has not been named – allegedly killed his 71-year-old wife before cutting off her head. He then put her skull into a concrete block and attached it to his hand before killing himself in the Traunsee Lake, Austria. The corpse and the block were recovered by police divers from the waters yesterday, according to officials. A day earlier, two suitcases containing the woman's remains were found floating close to the lake's shore near the town of Gmunden. <[url: http://www.primeviewsng.com]>

The graduate of Accounting from Anwai campus of the Delta State University was said to have browsed with his handset for about an hour on the eve of his death before heading to the church for a night vigil where he was said to be a choir master. He was said to have slummed and died almost immediately midway into the vigil while leading the choristers in a song. An eye witness said when he fell, he was thought to be under the influence of Holy Spirit, but after waiting for about 20 minutes and he was not getting up, some of the choristers tried to help him up only to find out that he was already dead, at exactly 11.30pm of that day. The Pastor of the church, Pastor Peter Akpovwera, expressed shock at the incident, saying “the brother was a faithful worshipper but lost his life to the cold hand of death even in the church.” His younger brother, Mr Godday Akevwighome, said the victim was serving in Anambra state as at the time of his untimely death. <[url: http://www.primeviewsng.com]>

•Boko Haram steals foodstuffs, livestock Daily Sun reports that a Nigerian, Henry Sunday Dare, has identified Isa, the four-year-old boy in the latest ISIS video as his grandson. In the video, which showed some ISIS militants executing five supposed British spies, Isa was heard calling in Allah’s name, for the execution of the individuals. Speaking with a correspondence of a UK-based media organization on the development, Dare, acknowledged the boy, saying: “He’s my grandson. I can’t disown him. I know him very well. “The Islamic State (IS) is just using a small boy. He doesn’t know anything. He’s a small boy. They are just using him as a shield. Isa appeared at the end of the 11-minute video that surfaced on Sunday. He was wearing military fatigues and warned in English: “We are going to go kill the kafir (non-believers) over there.” Dare is a Christian Nigerian who migrated to the UK with his daughter, Grace “Khadijah” Dare. Khadijah was radicalized while at a university in Lon- don. She joined the Islamic State in 2012. She had reportedly praised the beheading of an American journalist, James Foley, and said she wanted to be the first woman to behead a hostage. Khadijah, who was christened Grace by her parents, grew up in Lewisham to Nigerian Christian parents, but converted to Islam as a teenager before leaving for Syria. In 2014, she posted a photo- graph on her personal Twitter account of her then four-year- old son Isa, meaning Jesus in Arabic, smiling with an AK-47 rifle. All her social media account, or those linked to her, are known for posting pro-ISIS messages, encouraging other young women to make the journey to the war zone and she is one of the first known Western women to have travelled to Syria. Dare said he recently spoke to his daughter ‘weeks ago, when she called me’. “I keep on ignoring her calls because she has brought shame to our family and to herself,” he said. The boy was born in 2010 and has been named by some news outlets. The British press has also nicknamed him ‘Jihadi Junior’. Meanwhile, hungry Boko Haram terrorists have raided a Borno State community, set ablaze many houses and stole (Click on the link below to read more)

Punch has reported that hunters in Borno on Sunday called on the military to allow them to join in the war against insurgents in Sambisa Forest, the News Agency of Nigeria reports. Malam Mai-Gana Mai-Durma, the Borno Emir of the Hunters, made the appeal in Maiduguri while addressing newsmen. Mai-Durma said that the call became imperative because the hunters were familiar with the terrain at the dreaded forest, the hideout and operational base of the terrorists. “We are appealing to the military authorities to allow us join the fight against Boko Haram at the Sambisa forest. “We are ready to pursue the terrorists because we know the terrain very well,” Mai-Durma said. He said that the military should align them with members of the vigilance group, popularly known as the Civilian JTF, for effective result. “We will overrun Sambisa in partnership with members of the civilian JTF if given the opportunity. “This will help to complement the effort of military in the anti-terrorism operation,” Mai-Durma said. He lamented that hunters from the 27 local government areas of the state had been rendered idle by the Boko Haram terrorism. “Hunters from all the 27 Borno LGAs are all in Maiduguri with our leaders doing nothing at present because of Boko Haram. “Rather than idling away, we will want to assist the military in crushing Boko Haram terrorists,” Mai-Durma said. He also appealed to the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Garbai, to assist in forwarding the request to the military authorities for consideration. <[url: http://www.primeviewsng.com]>

A WOMAN who had never been abroad until last year has now travelled the world for free by getting online dates to pay for it. Monica Lynn, 25, estimated her lavish trip, which involved camel trekking in Dubai and shopping sprees in Hong Kong, would have taken up to a decade to save for if she had funded it herself. Before January last year Monica, a former financial advisor, had never left America, but now she has visited nine different countries. Monica told how she came across an article about a dating website where singles can pay to bring prospective partners on holiday with them. She said: "I came across MissTravel in an article about weird websites. "I thought, 'Yes, that sounds weird- but also kind of cool'. "This website attracts very successful men who don't have time to date in the normal way, so this allows them to accelerate the whole thing. "They're going on trips anyway, and they can afford to search through profiles and afford to bring one they like with them. "Initially I thought, 'Is this legitimate? Is this a thing?' "But I signed up anyway, started chatting to a few guys, and really got into the idea. "Without MissTravel, it would have taken me 5-10 years of working to do all things I've done in this year alone. "Before I found this site, I'd had never been outside the US and now my passport book is starting to get full – it's opened up the world to me." After quitting her job at wealth management firm Merill Lynch in December 2014, Monica joined the site the following month and immediately began chatting to a 31-year-old managing director. They exchanged messages for several weeks before he asked her if she would accompany him on a trip to Barbados. Her date, who wishes to remain anonymous, paid for everything on their week's jaunt, including flights, a stay at a five star resort and cocktails on the beach. He also treated her to souvenirs and some silver jewellery. Monica stressed there was no expectation she would sleep with her holiday buddy, arguing: "It's like any other dating website. "It's just there's lots of travelling involved." She added: "Maybe some people will do that, we're all human - but it wasn't for me, not with that first guy. "It wasn't awkward either - it was just like a regular date which didn't really sizzle, except you were on a Caribbean island. "Sex was never mentioned. "We had fun but there was no sexual connection. "He was like a friend. We're still in touch." Though she didn't go on any further trips with her Barbados partner, Monica soon met a second man who took her to San Francisco. She didn't feel the spark with this suitor either, but her luck changed when she met her third prospective match. After speaking via messenger, she eventually flew to Italy to meet him and the pair connected instantly. She said: "He's Italian, he's 28 and really gorgeous. "He runs several successful online businesses, and also works in import and export. "We had a connection before we even met, and that continued." Since they got together last year, the loved-up couple have embarked on seven holidays as a couple including trips to Indonesia and the Phillipines. As a token of their commitment they have both agreed to stop using the MissTravel website. Monica said: "After about six weeks, we decided to be exclusive to each other. "My lifestyle hasn't changed though. "Any time he goes on a trip now he invites me. "The way I see it, I found a guy I'm really serious about through online dating – with a lot of travel. She added: "What w "Going for dinner in their hometown, or watching the sunset on a cliff-top restaurant with a guy who wanted to fly you to the other side of the world to be with him? "It's exponentially more romantic than anything a guy back home could do for you. "Your senses are heightened. "Everything is so spontaneous, it helps ignite the passion. "And you're getting to know each other in these amazing, exotic locations." Monica, who is working on a mobile app start-up when she is not jet-setting around the world, said she and her boyfriend have discussed where they might live in the future. He is based in Italy, while she lives 5000 miles away in Alabama. She said she currently doesn't have any plans to leave her family or her dog Rex, as she "loves them too much" but added: "We'll see what happens in future." Should it not work out, Monica admitted traditional dating has been ruined for her after her "life-changing" experience with MissTravel. She explained: "Dating is dating, and there's nothing wrong with a guy taking you to the cinema. "But if I end up single again, I (Click on the link below to read more) <[url: http://www.primeviewsng.com]>
