pejuhazel:I think we should tread with caution. Getting PPR as well as getting it on time is a privilege and not a right. I can understand that as humans, we tend to compare our progress with that of others, but we should know that people have different destinies and futures. Going online to call out AVO on Twitter is not a good idea. CIC and all its visa offices own the yam and the knife; they can decide to cut on the yam anywhere they deem fit. While AVO applicants wait, please savour the moment and experience. That’s what makes life interesting actually: your unique stories, your ups and downs, the joys and the sadness, the unpredictability and the thrills in it. Let AVO do their job at any speed they are capable of. 38 Likes 1 Share |

triplebaba:Any preparation source can help for other listening reading or speaking, but for writing, you may need someone to review your writing samples and give you tips if need be before you enter the hall. 1 Like 1 Share |

ladymarshall:Thank you my dear. Looking at stress I go through to lecture people, you will pity me. I talk, and talk, sometimes for over 1 hour at a go, and repeat my explanations painstakingly. I even got an Apple Pencil which I bought for over 40k which I use on my ipad to write my corrections directly on people’s essays which they snapped and sent to me so that I can explain better when we do the lectures online and so that they catch the message clearly. A lot goes on in the background before people come share to share their stories. We are just happy to let nairalanders know of the success we(and our students) achieve. People, please bear with us if the stories bore you. When PPR comes, surely we won’t have time to even lecture again. 28 Likes 1 Share |

Tina26:No wahala. Anybody that passes IELTS, please don’t share your testimony o. . We don’t need such testimonies here. Keep it to yourself. Why do we even need to share PPR stories here? It’s also derailing the thread. I know why you feel this way—probably you passed IELTS without any hassle, and you feel it’s not a big deal. Life nor be like that my dear. 27 Likes 2 Shares |

iela19:Na wah o. You really serious for this matter. Testimonies are not fake, aunty. Appreciate our efforts. As far as students need assistance, we will always be relevant. When people start passing on their own, you wouldn’t need to play down our usefulness; when such situation happens, we ourselves will naturally fade out and become irrelevant. But till then, we will continue to be useful and helpful. If you don’t know, there’s a reason why more people, than it ever was, are passing now—although this unfortunately results in high CRS cutoffs; it is because more efficient tutors have entered the scene, and it will be good for everyone to know of this opportunity to boost their scores. If this was a scam, I believe someone would have said it long ago. 30 Likes 1 Share |

Kendrix69:Be confident. See it as a ordinary discussion between you and a harmless stranger. For the short response sections (Sections 1 and 3), listen carefully to the questions. There will be some long questions to throw you off balance by the way they are asked; don’t assume you heard the questions well if you have doubts about what you heard. In this case, politely ask the examiner, ‘Can you come again?’. This exam is ‘Speaking’, not Listening. So, you are given some leniency if you don’t listen well. Therefore, take advantage of this, and tell the examiner to please repeat any question you did not understand. Also, you can use this to bide more time to prepare your answer in your mind. But don’t do this too much; only ask the examiner to repeat questions not more than twice in the whole exam. For the long talk(Session 2), you have to continuously talk until the end of the 2 minutes. You don’t want to rush and answer the three points of the question presented to you so fast or else you and the examiner will stir at each other for the rest of the 2 minutes. So, take your time. Beat around the bush, first, to use up some time. You may even need to narrate some ‘unnecessary information’ in your story, for example like how you woke up in the morning at 4 a.m. instead of 6 a.m. or how you brushed your teeth with your left hand for a try instead of using your right hand. Lol. All these are to while away some time. But please, be smart to make sure you still answer the three bullet points of the question before the time runs out. Please maintain a very formal attitude. Do not be too friendly or smile unnecessarily; examiners, especially Nigerian ones, may interpret this to mean you are not confident and that you are trying to plead for their generosity with your smiles. Instead, show confidence and show some mild form of pomposity. I wish you the best. 33 Likes 7 Shares |

SonsOfLiverpool:Bros, I do it free for a few people, but for other people, we can agree on something. I have invested financially in some resources to upgrade my teaching. Also, coupled with the data I expend during our internet calls, it would be only fair if my expenses are compensated for. If I’m available by November ending, I’ll gladly coach you. If I’m not, I would refer you to some other people. Blissnenye is also a good tutor who you could contact as well. For anyone whom I am not available to tutor, I usually recommend her to them, and she does a pretty good job as well. 14 Likes 2 Shares |
