My people! I answered YES to the serious medical question (the last of the statutory questions, because I have an ulcer, but I explained that it was not serious o but still wanted to be truthful, and felt my medical exam would be a final authority on the matter, (chai! What was I thinking?) cry

Just now, I saw a website that said the bolded below:

There is a section on the Canadian application form that asks of your criminal background, association with war crimes, genocide, having any serious illness like HIV, Hepatitis B or other communicable diseases etc. Mostly, its advisable to reply NO to each of these questions, since a YES answer even with explanations MIGHT deem you inadmissible to Canada.

I have gotten my medical exam results post-AOR from the hospital and they were fine, nothing serious. But since I answered YES to the medical question, what do I do? Should I raise CSE to tell CIC I am supposed to answer NO? grin Will I be rejected? I'm awaiting MEP/BIL

I answered yes too. I had a very serious accident that almost made me disabled; I had to receive surgeries abroad in two visits totalling 6 months. But I explained that I was okay and my surgeries were very successful. In my medicals I even submitted a medical report from the hospital abroad which stated that my surgeries were successful and that I was good to go. I passed my medicals last week and I received BIL. I think you will be fine. A medical report from your previous admission or surgery will make it more convincing though.

I will pm you now; please respond. I would like to have your number. It seems we are almost in the same stage of our application; I want to keep in touch. I may also discuss some other issues as we await our PPR.

@bolded How did you know your CSE was not attended to just because they had not replied you yet?

If you had not raised a CSE and still got to MEP/BIL stage, your claim would have been believable. But because there is a 50% percent chance that your CSE was considered without you knowing, you cannot say for sure that CIC does not require ECA. Let be careful when giving advice here, please.

On a second thought you are right though. I may not actually be sure of what happens 'behind the scenes'. So guys you heard it. Upload both ECA and degree certificate in your application.

Concerning the issue of whether uploading ECA is a must, maybe this will throw more light.
Just to refresh our minds, I didn't upload my ECA report when I submitted u application; I only uploaded my degree certificate. But as advised by people in this forum, I was to raise a CSE to add my ECA report, and I did all that, not minding that I had filled in my ECA details--ECA certificate number and date of issue of ECA report--when I submitted my application.
The CSE was raised for the ECA a week ago. However, I got my Medicals passed and biometrics requested just 2 days after the CSE and even completed my biometrics three days later, even when the CSE had not been attended to. The response for the CSE was just received some hours ago (1 day after
my biometrics completion), as seen in the picture below.
I think this should once and for all prove wrong the argument that uploading ECA in your application is compulsory to prevent application rejection by virtue of an incomplete application (R10 completeness check). I still maintain that the most important document for your proof of education is your uploaded degree certificate and ECA details being asked of; if ECA upload was vital for a complete application, I wouldn't have gotten Biometrics request.

Abuja people, please what is the procedure of doing biometrics in Abuja? Does the biometrics take time? I live outside Abuja, but I can get to Abuja by 10am on the day; will I be able to finish the biometrics and leave Abuja same day? Also, where is the venue? Thanks. Do I need to book an appointment beforehand before I get there?

Thanks. I just raised it.

You raise a CSE here. The steps are pretty straightforward. The last step is to upload the ECA.

Good Evening, Please I will like to know if I can do my Medicals before I am invited to apply. Although I haven't been invited but I am hopeful. Can I do my Medicals in Nigeria while my Wife and Son in Sweden do theirs there, will it been ok or I should ask them to come home so we do it together. I am the principal applicant. Does my wife and son also need the Police certificate or just me. Thank you

Please why do you want to leave Sweden for Canada? I used to think the Scandinavian countries(Sweden, Norway, Finland) were more pleasurable to live in when compared to Canada.

Please Raise CSE asap and include them. Someone's application was rejected recently as incomplete for not including ECA certificate.

The screenshots below show a story of someone whose application was rejected and why it was rejected. This explains why someone’s application may be rejected on grounds of no proof of education when they think they put in their ECA number, whereas they didn’t; in such a scenario they may think the cause of the rejection was due to them not uploading their ECA certificate, but this wasn’t the reason.

Some people feel all the details they put in their express entry profile before ITA is automatically transferred to their application form, post-ITA. This may not happen always, and so the column for ECA number may be empty or incomplete; so make sure all your details are entered in your application form correctly before you submit. The most important thing about ECA is the ECA certificate number you typed in, and not the ECA certificate copy you uploaded. If you don’t type in the ECA number, or you typed an incorrect number, your application may still be rejected whether or not you uploaded your ECA certificate.

I beg to disagree. I don’t think that could be the reason for the person’s rejection. Clarify if the person imputed their ECA number correctly. There is a column somewhere in the application where we are to put down our ECA report number. Or are you saying the ECA number we wrote does not count? Please don’t give people unnecessary anxiety. I uploaded only degree certificate, and I am not going to panic, because the instruction for uploading document for education clearly said ‘degrees/diplomas’, and not ’degrees/diplomas + ECA certificate’. The ECA number we put should take care of the ECA. However you can also upload ECA certificate if you wish.

Please I am post ITA and got my AOR on 15th March. Till today 23rd of April, I am yet to get Biometrics request. Do I Need to b worried? From ppr success stories I have seen here biometrics requests happen within 1 month of AOR

People that want to fast-forward their destiny. Chill dude. Do not panic. Wait till 45 days before any fretting. Even at that, you don't really have any right to worry. Only worry when you have not gotten PPR after 6 months. Your VO has the right to delay your application at any stage. They may give you biometrics after 10 days post-AOR, only for them to delay PPR for futher 8 months. PPR is the ultimate goal.

Good morning Team,

I want to know if I could enter the pool now? Considering that I just saw my IELTS score (LRSW - 8,7.5,7.5,7)

Meanwhile WES Just informed me my evaluation will be completed by 30th of April 2019.

I also want to know, do the score on the CRS calculator often tally with your CRS score when you eventually enter the Pool?
Don't play with PR rejection o. Dude, you can't enter pool without your ECA report number, and date ECA was issued. You put in wrong details of these, just to enter the pool, you get a rejection!

Good afternoon house,@ladymarshall @oga wassey and @ johnnybravo pls help me Go d will help u all. My phone number is 08063926116 and my email address is saidat.bolaogun@gmail.com.

I will be willing to assist you or any other person. My Whatsapp digits are, ‘zero eight zero six zero five seven two five three five’ (I hope I don’t get banned for this). ‘Please’, do not quote this post, so that you do not replicate my number. I will later edit this post to remove my number, because I do not want my contact to be on a public forum like this permanently. If you must quote my post, please edit and strike out the number.

Anyone who wants any assistance, send me your task 2 essays(you can write on a paper, snap, and send to me if you are writing the paper-based IELTS, or you can type and send to me if you are doing the computer-based exam) through Whatsapp; include the question ‘in full’. Please introduce yourself by stating your nairaland name. I will do my best to go through as many essays as I can, and I will discuss with you through Whatsapp calls. I will be available until beginning of next month, May, when I may not be accessible because I will be busy. Afterwards, I may still avail myself though after special considerations.

Also, I want to give a tip on task 2 essays that follow the format shown in the picture below, where you are asked to give reasons for whatever question is stated in the box. People seem to overlook the fact that the task(or actual question), which should determine the structure of your essay(body), is what is written below the box: ‘Give reasons for your answer, and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience’. Whatever is contained in the box is the topic and not the actual task of the essay. Whenever you are asked any question inside the box, where you are asked to give a decision, or explicitly told to choose one out of two options, please give your answer straightaway in the introduction of your essay. The body of your essay should only be stating the reasons or points for why you gave that answer. In a case like this, in the body of your essay, I expect you to be listing out the reasons for whatever answer you gave to the simple question inside the box. In other words, in your first body paragraph, you state one reason, and support it with a relevant example, and then in your second body paragraph you state another reason and also support it with a relevant example. A relevant example is a specific story that supports, or explains more, your reason or point in that paragraph. A relevant example could be an incidence from your own life, from a friend’s, or some other person’s life; it could be a story or about an incident you picked up from the internet, television, radio, or a story you heard; or it could be the result of a research, investigation, et cetera.

From reading many essays sent to me, a mistake people make for this kind of question where the task explicitly says, ‘give reasons for your answer’, candidates tend to divide the body of their essays into paragraphs, with a paragraph supporting one view, and another paragraph supporting the other view, before then stating their answer or opinion in a third paragraph. This is wrong. This kind of essay structure(one paragraph for one view, another paragraph for the other view, and a third paragraph for your opinion) is befitting only for tasks that ask you to ‘discuss both views and give your opinion’. So please read the question properly, paying attention to the actual task which is under the box.

I know there may be disagreements with my approach of answering the question type I used to illustrate, but I must say, I know at least two people, excluding me, who used my approach, and they got 7 in writing for such question formats. All the best to IELTS candidates.
