@jasedu60 Hello, can I use my mother's car?
I'm about to finish service and I must get myself engaged in something. Can't imagine myself stay idle without doing anything.
What kind of car? If it's from 2006 model upward I will advise that you register the ride with Uber, Afro cab, Oga taxi and wakanow. My bros makes about 100k a week from these platforms. You will thank me later. Don't even think of using a car for this guy's parcel business.

Yes you were right, but as I insisted there's always a lesson learnt. The unity of Nigeria is what I've always dreamt of. The "Nigeria finish me" thrend goes to show the love we have for one other with individuals sending money to unknown people irrespective of their tribe or religion ethics. I was hoping we would build on that uncommon reputation, buh see today how far have we gone we dont even have upto 1000 people thats aware of this plight we already here against ourselves. When we can't deal with this how are we going to deal with the Nigeria problem?
The accusation made openly by morndew were not contained and prove otherwise by admin since it was made. Then I can only but think its hijacked already. Then we back to square one, Rather not be a part atall than to be a part in groups thats a treat to our National security.
Much as I supported this group from the start buh so far so good this group Future is not bright. I guess it has even finish before it got started. Truth is better.
You're right. We didn't contain it cos there was no reason for that. I created the thread having prepared my mind to meet and work with youths from various ethnic groups; with different religious belief and political views.

The guy in question unfortunately, is a wishful dreamer, with the mind set that anyone that sympathises with a group in their struggle for self determination is an enemy of Nigeria and should be ostracized while preaching one Nigeria at the same time. We can't have it both ways; it's either we bring then close to see the reason we should be together or we let them go. And certainly not while our leaders keep making divisive comments.

Note: Am not from South East

Pasino was voted in because of his level of dedication and leadership qualities by the majority.

I think we all should be more tolerant of one another and above all, appreciate our differences cos that is the only way to build a united Nigeria we all crave for.

repogirl:
MORNDEW, please remember that we are a diverse people from different places. That some people support a cause shouldn't be a total write off on them. Everyone is looking for the best way out of this situation called Nigeria, it doesn't mean we don't want this Nigeria to work and we can't set aside our cultural and other differences in order to achieve something which will benefit our country.

I agree though that the Pacino guy shouldn't have removed you from your group in such a brash manner, that's just wrong on so many levels. One will always find opposition everywhere and to be a true leader, one has got to employ diplomacy , tact and be willing to listen to the opposition even if it makes you angry.

I have always been a skeptic about these groupy things and that's why I chose to follow from the sidelines to see how it goes. I'm not impressed with their leader's actions, it's not a good sign already. Anybody who can't stomach tough questions or set aside anger and be objective shouldn't be anyone's leader.

However, woodcook has made a marvelous suggestion and I suggest it should be looked into. Putting one person at the helm of this thing would be too much pressure on him and equipping that one person with too much power.

I will still watch from the sidelines though, and hope this works out.
Thank you repogirl and woodcook for coming around. It's really unfortunate that as youths we have allowed politics of the elites to divide us. I created the thread as an aftermath of the Nigeria don finish me thread. The idea was to spore us to action.

Note: Am from Niger delta.

We formed a group on whatsapp believed to be a gathering of like minds. Not too long, it became obvious that we the Nigerian youths really need reorientation. And a couple of us suggested that we take our time to study; this is to enable us understand the Nigerian problem and how to go about it. Some members of the raised an objection cos they felt we were drifting apart from the initial goal. But honestly, there is no way this group of youths can sustain a protest because of the level of division among us and also, there was the issue of ego among the group.

This has been the group experience. Not giving up anyway but I think the major task at hand is reorientation of the average Nigerian youth.

We all talk about change and we believe in working with in the system to achieve that but, historical events have it that the problem of being a conformist is that when you try to change the system within, its not you who changes the system; it's the system that will change you.

We all have roles to play. Thank you all.

Clap for yourself Wole Soyinka, Professor in English Language from Oxford University, Havard distinction Graduate, Alexandra the Great, Major General Sani Abacha, I greet you. The word "Cucuma" is a pigin English word for "Just" meant for Nigerians, understood by Nigerians and spoken by a Nigerian. So if you think you are academically qualified than me in terms of English then you are a learner and still being fed by your parent. Swerve Asshoole! or better still....
Correct guy. Pidgin is our language, and I think it's high time we adopt it into the educational system. It will help us assimilate faster and invent stuffs. Most inventors hardly speak or spoke the Queen's English.

hobermener:
Hehe. Someone needs to wake up and smell the coffee!! Nigeria will never change, not because I'm an eternal pessimist, but because I'm a realist as opposed to an idealist. The bulk of the youths today still support and are willing to die for the change movement, even while it's glaringly obvious they've been scammed, and sometimes you ask yourself, why are Nigerians so stupid and dafthuh
The northern oligarchy has systematically conditioned things in a way that will ensure that the status quo is maintained at least for 200 years. As much as i commend the efforts of the illumined youths who champion a revolution in Nigeria, i make bold to say its a pipe dream, like building castles in the air - "it'll never work". Here are my reasons, and they're open to criticisms:
■ the vast majority of youths who'll d be needed to spear head this revolution, reside in the north, a region ravaged by hunger and illiteracy, which ranks pretty low in the world poverty index. Despite wallowing in filth poverty and despair, these youths seem to be contented with the handouts being given to them, and will glady lay down their lives for their selfish leaders to cling to power. Educate the north, and Nigeria's problem is half solved. But the northern oligarchy has continually ensured that the growth of education is being stifled in the north, while their kids who will suceed em earn degrees from expensive and reputable universities in the uk.
■the religious card!! Now more than ever, Nigeria is being polarized along religious and ethnic lines. The northerners want a northerner in power at all cost, so do the southerners, the westerners and the easteners. A careful look at how hate speeches and invectives are being spewed out from either side of both ethnic camps against the other, clearly paints a gloomy picture of nigeria's future going forward. Incessant attacks and killings based on religion and ethnicity now seems to be the order of the day. A revolution can NEVER succeed in a country so irredeemably polarized, with one group having implacable hatred and resentment againt the other.
■The "i no wan die attitude". Nigerians are scared to die for their right, but the truth is that we really are scared to live, because to endure a standard of living akin to those of refugees and slaves in the advanced world, in a country with abundant resources and manpower (that rivals those in any other great country in the world), is death in itself!!! No country living in economic progress and prosperity today got it easy. It came with a huge price. And who's ready in today's nigeria to pay the price?? Your guess is as good as mine- NO ONE!! Everyone is "waiting for his or her call to be picked" when the power lies in their own hands to change their situation. "The gods will not do for a man what he has the capacity to do for himself".
■nigeria's irritable contentment with mediocrity and suffering. I watch in utter disgust as nigerian youths shower encomiums and eulogies on a leader who contributed a security surveillance bike to a community. For crying out loud, these looters are not to be praised, not even when they carry our their functions as stipulated by the constitution, how much more when they embezzle large chunks for thesmselves and their families, and hand out peanuts to their states and constituencies? Governance is a job. they are being paid and enjoy certain rights for the job they do. People who do their jobs well receive salaries as commendations, those who don't, get fired!!! I watch in utter amazement as nigerian youths hail politicians over commencing the same project over and over again, sinking tax payers funds into projects that will never be completed. Roads and bridges are often the major topics in campaign rallies, and naive nigerian youths, who have sworn to remain in their naivete will help stage massive rallies for these greedy rogue elements, because they promised to construct feeder roads linking their communities to big cities. In a democratic society, the supposed leaders are servants, and the god's are the people who wield the power of the ballot. But there seem to be no visible difference between democracy as practised in Nigeria and totalitarian and oligarchical systems practiced in other countries.
I used to share the same sentiments with the proponents of youth revolution in Nigeria, but with the hard facts staring me in the face, it will be irrational and will amount to self deception on my part to believe it will ever materialize.

Your vilifications and criticisms are all welcome!!! smiley smiley

Interesting view point and I agree with you to a large extent. However, I believe in the saying that whatever you learn you can unlearn. No body was born a bigot. Now, emphasis is on awareness. The peasants and the locals you referred to, cannot lead a revolution. Leading a revolution is the duty of the middle class who should make those peasants and locals understand that their lives can be better. Maybe we should have a chat. 7AB76D8D

Well done guys... With what an seeing now I can confidently say that there is hope for this nation.

Lucky nation is the one who has at least one great progressive revolutionary man in its history... Mehmet Murat ildan
. And we have many today. Thank you all.

I must reassure all at this point that this struggle was born out of a sense of duty for generations yet unborn. I really don't know what better gift to leave my unborn kids than a working Nigeria.

I have thought about possible ways that could bring division among us. And it's better we address them now and reach a consensus.

Finance: I suggested it should be under the control of Nigerians in diaspora part of the struggle.

Representation: If it comes to the time to dialogue with government, I suggest none of the popular faces around here including myself should be given such a mandate. My dream is that we have a united body that when a random team is nominated to represent us, we can be rest assured that they will keep to the mission and vision of the movement.

Moving forward, faaiz4ever suggested we have another set of people research on social media handles with a similar purpose and list them out to enable us reach out to them. I honestly feel its a sound strategy.

Please can we have the following comrades help us with that task:

Thoniameek, Dmanj, Oyimeoyimemua, Nulasco,

Nafizzey and dollyjuke.

Formation and agitation for this kind of group always pop up but hardly see the light of the day. If you doubt me, ask Ehixking...the dude that started National Association of Unemployed Graduates (NAUG). That dude and few others attempted to scratch the ground during the initial formation stage of the pressure group and by the time they were given a penny in form of empowerment in Agriculture, ask them where the group is today...died a natural death.

Op, i guess this is just another selfish move. Continue!!!
Mr serialgist, am not the leader here nor the spokes person for this group, and if you would like to volunteer to act in any of those capacity please indicate and the house will consider it for approval.

You don't just accuse people based on your prior experience. And I certainly don't think I have done anything wrong initiating an idea that could address the social injustice in Nigeria.

Morning Everyone!

Vshock, Pushas, jonsnow, Beamborla, Morndew and gensteejay should please work together to come up with vision and mission statement for the site. And also compile a list of demands already laid down on this thread.

The truth is, your leaders know which policies to implement to unite nigeria but they will never implement it.

I've been following this thread for sometime, and I must say you guys are gathering momentum but there's no direction, no mission statement.
From all indication, you guys are calling all nigerian youths to come together, to do what? huh

Remember, direction is much more important than speed. wink
You have a valid point. However, there are people who subscribe to the strategy: First who... Then what? Get the right guys onboard then, you decide where you want to drive to. Just a thought.

The future of this country now lies in our hand and this is the best opportunity to act. What is the first step we are taking?
We need to come up with vision and mission statement for the site and also, the list of things we need the government to implement. We need them to appear on the website.

Note: Nothing political.

faaiz4ever:
Am trying to conceive how this whole thing can work, what am proposing is that we create our own e-petition and e-voting system right in the website. Decisions would be strictly by elections and actions would be taken strictly by petitions. Let's say u raise an issue that u want the house to decide on. There will be a place where all the members can vote for either support or against it . Let's say someone has an idea to change in government. Like duration of court cases in judicial arm of government for example. The person will create a petition and gather signatures by posting the link in social media (advertising his cause) once the signature reaches like 1 million this number will be decided by the house through the voting system then we will act on it. We will send the request to the appropriate body if nothing is done then we can threaten them with protests which they know if we mobilize people we can shutdown the whole country. But we must have the significant number before we can achieve that. So all people signing petitions must be members u CNT sign any petition without registering and u can't sign twice. Signatures must be genuine and mean the actual number of people that agreed to the idea. Just like an electronic referendum. So its a continuous business, it's an official way of the Nigerian people saying no to bad policies. And if our request is not granted because of valid reasons the government must explain publicly to the people why they cannot do the request. What do you think about that?
That is brilliant I must say.

House!
Constructive criticism is really needed at this point.

We could also create or employ appropriate platform to collect 5- 10m youth signatures and commitments to the protest and present same to and appeal to the United Nations to provide needed leadership on the day(s) of the protest.

This could keep politicians at bay.

I think the demands should cut across the fiscal, monetary, electoral, judicial, law enforcement, etc spheres of the nation.

Examples:

On the fiscal side, we could demand for a constitutionally enshrined annual budget of 70% capital and 30% recurrent expenditures. A 50% tax on the wealthy may also be in order.

Monetary: 50% of all loans should be reserved for the masses. And 70% of all loans across the board should go to the productive or real sector of the economy.

Electoral: INEC should be independently funded and it's chairman appointed by the NJC and not by the president, Etc.

Please add yours.
Good points you raised here. Let's start doing something towards it. Can you help the house make enquiry about the best platform to use in collecting signature?

I don't reside in Nigeria but I am ever ready to assist with logistics if properly organized.

I also have my reservations especially with the myriads of morally bankrupt cash and carry youths back in Nigeria that practically stands for nothing, how do we succeed with such legion of fraudulent minded young ones?
Been doing alot of thinking with respect to this very sensitive issue. The idea I was able to come up with is that Nigerians in diaspora that are committed to the struggle should be in charge of the funds, and funds should only be released when a budget has been approved by the general house.

I don't know if there is any sense in what I just suggested. Please let's react to this.

One way we the nigerian youths can bring this revolution is through the National Association of Nigerian students (NANS). Since most youths in Nigeria are within the tertiary institutions, the youths through NANS can organise a well cordinated campaign (or protest as the case may be) by linking with the leadership of all higher institutions irrespective of whether private, state or federal accross the country. By this we students can in one piece embark on strike or any other means possible except violence untill all neccessary amendments are made. Believe me if all students are in one direction, the government would have no choice but to grant our desired needs.
NANS has been hijacked by politicians and as such, can't be entrusted with such a mandate. However, we will definitely reach out to them as we move forward with our plan.
