richylee:My brother it's possible if we work together. Lets channel all our energy to this cause. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain |
Pushas:Please stick around. You will have to be part of the decision process. |
Eleniyan15:Welcome onboard... Please copy your friends on nairaland to converge here. |
nairoland:A whatsapp group will accommodate just 256 numbers. We need numbers. Cos that's our strength. |
pacino26:Yes I agree... We need a master plan. Let's have suggestions on the clear cut demand we are to push forward. |

The new thread is now live... https://www.nairaland.com/3213961/youths-occupy-nigeria-2016#47329561 |
Nulasco:Please you can also help to draw their attention here. God help us. |
Vshock:We are not breaking any law, rather, we will be using our numbers to demand for a new Nigeria that you and I will be proud to leave for the next generation unborn. |
banmee:Thank you for that wonderful statement. Each time I see new born babies in this country I usually weep for them. Is this the country we are going to leave behind for them? Enough is enough! Let's make our elites know that we put them there and we have a voice. |
omobs:Let's make it happen. It's not enough to seat and lament, grumble and abuse our leaders. Let's start the movement. |
dmanj:It's now open... https://www.nairaland.com/3213961/youths-occupy-nigeria-2016#47329561. Under politics section. |
This is a follow up thread to the referenced thread below: https://www.nairaland.com/3210525/nigeria-finished-me#47274430. Went through the aforementioned thread last night, and I really wept at the level of suffering that has been passed down to us by the elites. Last night I couldn't sleep cos of the pain and agony. Then, a thought came to me that we really can make a positive change and that we are not outnumbered, but rather, we are just unorganized. A 10million Nigerian youths can make a difference. Can ten million Nigerian youths converge at National Assembly or the state house? And every youth should know that if we don't protest now, posterity will judge us, our children will so curse our existence. This is a struggle for the survival of the common man. Personally I don't think I will be alive come next 50years. So, we should see this as a duty we owe generations unborn. So I call upon all the vibrant youths that have already made a comment on the aforementioned thread to think about this proposal. Modified* Please a new thread has been created to focus on the struggle https://www.nairaland.com/3213961/youths-occupy-nigeria-2016 Kindly check our facebook page, please don't forget to like and share the page to other people: https://m.facebook.com/voiceoftheyouths Also, This is the link to the official website http://www.nigerianyouths.org/ although, not fully ready for use. dmanj:Alright... Nice. What do you think of a new thread to focus on the struggle? |
dmanj:Cool... Now, let's launch the handles. Twitter, facebook, instagram etc |
Oyimeoyimemua:Yes... Those are measures we need to put in place. That is why organization is key, in order to avoid a situation where thugs will hijack the process. We would only be armed with sleeping mat and cooking utensils. |
Reyginus:You think it won't be funded? Right now organization is key. We will reach out to NGOs and Nigerians in diaspora. |
dmanj:Let's have a term for the struggle... OccupyNigeria2016? OccupyAsorock2016? OccupyNationalAssembly2016? More suggestions... Then we open social media handles. We reach out to Nigerians in diaspora, the western media, then, we pick a date. |
melodythatsme:Do we create another thread that will focus on the more important issues. People are distracted here with the cash donations. Please respond. |
dmanj:Bro let's start it... We need to avail ourselves the opportunities provided by social media. It's our weapon of warfare. I can't bring a kid into this country as it stands now. |

fwwins:Boss, will really like to know more about life in France. A friend of mine is processing a 10years work permit to France through an agency. Now, am interested but, sametime am abit skeptical about the chances of being granted such a permit. What's the kinda of job one can get with a Nigerian degree? |
Nigeria |
DY20:We had a case like that in my firm, our client died without a will. Meanwhile, she had lots of money in her account with us. The children couldnt gain access to the funds until they provided a letter of administration among other requirements. Don't worry, it's simply responsible of you to be thinking of passing down all you own. It's nothing evil or to be ashamed of. Life is transient. |
Very interesting question I must say, and I will like to correct a wrong notion among average Nigerian with respect to the next of kin and how it relates to your assets, before I address your question based on my little experience in financial services. Many people confuse next of kin to mean beneficiary. This is incorrect, although, your next of kin can also be your beneficiary. Next of kin is simply the person to reach out to in your absence, and as such, it should be an adult, preferably a close relation. And your beneficiary is the person you are giving the right to take over your assets when you're no more. Now, back to how it relates to your bank account. The next of kin column you filled in your account opening form has nothing to do with handing over your assets. It's simply a record the bank keeps to reach to someone close when it's been impossible to reach you their client. In the case of your demise, the bank can only release your funds to your beneficiary on the execution of your registered will or in the absence of a will, through a letter of administration to be obtained through the probate office. The later option means the asset will be liable to tax. Note: this is based on my little experience in the financial services. The learned fellows in the house can add or correct me if am wrong. |
Ejehjoe:Bros abeg if you know wetin to talk blow whistle. Which kind talk be that? Na first time Buhari dey enter government be this? Governor of the Northeastern State 30 July 1975 – 3 January 1976 Governor of Borno State 3 January 1976 – March 1976 Federal Commissioner of Petroleum and Natural Resources March 1976 – June 1978 7th Head of State of Nigeria 31 December 1983 – 27 August 1985 Chairman of the Petroleum Trust Fund Under the Abachas's regime. Now GCFR of Nigeria 2015- till date. In summary, it's simply a height of hubris trying to absolve Buhari from the list leaders that destroyed this country. Peace |
Asssmasher:The insults and name calling are really not necessary. Yes, I share his view on this issue. The current system we are running is really not working. If I knew what I know now when I got out of Secondary school, maybe I wouldn't have been in a hurry to get into school. The westerners who are proponents of the formal education most times encourage the high school leavers to take a gap year to experience life. Learn a skill, culture, anything. The college will always be there. |
kahal29:Well... You have a point. |
NgeneUkwenu:You don't have to be like this all the time... Now, how was it possible to invalidate the said document without confirming with the issuer of the said document? Don't you think it's fishy. |
Mopolchi:Govt should ban the use of those 18 seater buses. A mini luxury bus, won't run under a trailer just like that. |
Great insight |
