deji15: Eboes are the worst kind of hypocrite you can ever come across in the world. I have just donated to the GO Fund Me for this brave Sergeant.
So far about 100 people have contributed to the fund, totaling about $4,500, and guess what, about 80% of them are Yorubas or Hausas. Where are the loud mouth, good for nothing, lazy bone Eboes that are always making noise on social media?

MobilePunch Hero Cop Appeal:
Help Sergeant Chukwudi Iboko's widow and kids
This fund is set up to help the widow and six children of Sergeant Chukwudi Iboko, a brave Nigerian policeman who fought valiantly against a gang of armed robbers which invaded a bank in Owerri, South East Nigeria in February 2017. He died from gunshot injuries a day after the incident.
Sergeant Iboko's exploits and bravery are documented in a CCTV video of the incident which went viral on the Internet, four months after the robbery.
http://punchng.com/imo-bank-robbery-video-surfaces-three-months-after/
His last child aged 5 died on sighting the corpse of his dad. His widow and six children have been left indigent by his death and require help for rent, feeding and school expenses.

Your donations will be used to pay off his family's accumulated rent, school fees and other expenses.
This brave policeman deserves our support.
Please help in the following ways:
1. Kindly donate to this fund.
2. Help share his story and appeal for help by sharing this hashtag: #HonourSergeantChukwudiIboko
This FUND was launched by Nigeria's leading newspaper PUNCH (@mobilepunch) and social activists led by Kayode Ogundamisi Help spread the word! This your comment is divisive. There was no need for name calling. I guess you didn't notice that the highest single donor was Igbo. There were so many anonymous donors. You have done your part please stop heating up the polity with tribal remarks. |

AntiWailer: Ok
I would have gladly pledged 100k or more but I think we should pressurize Zenith Bank to do the right thing instead.
That guy died protecting their bank. They should wake up to their responsibilities. I really think that is the way to go. Till date I still can't fathom the reason every security guard working in a bank is on contract knowing fully well that without security the banks can't function. Whoever implemented that policy must be heartless. |

Nigerians have short memory, people are quick to compare the external reserve Obj left while forgetting that Obj paid less than #10,000 as minimum wage. Aside from minimum wage he also increased Nysc allawe by 100%. GEJ certainly had his faults but in the Nigerian standard of leadership; he will remain a legend. |

SirJeffry: There are no scammers in Nigeria today than churches. My annoyance is that they milk people unrepentantly even unemployed and underemployed members.
How can one help an unemployed relative with some amount of money to start a little business and all he does is to first go pay tithe. The devilish pastor accepted the tithe of a struggling-to-eat young man and someone expect me to step my foot in a church again Bro churches in Nigeria are after their bottom line. I was at prayer city last month to meet up with a client that stays in that vicinity so I waited in from of prayer city not long I saw the church security guards with Toyota Hilux, inside the truck was a lady and the son with their belongings. Immediately they got to the gate they dropped the Lady and the son with their belongings telling them to leave. Apparently, they have been there for awhile and they couldn't afford the motels inside the prayer city. So the security guards had to bungle them out. My own understanding was that they were trespassing the GO's place of business. Just like how a security guard in the bank will bungle out an individual with no intention of doing a transaction in the bank. |

Sibe007: Nigeria: Just recently I was handed a flyer, a church was planning to establish another branch to add to the already many existing ones in that area.
They tagged the campaign, Lets-go-a-fishing
I personally feel, it is enough. Especially where you already have branches saturated and considering that making more Religious centers wouldnt solve our enormous problems that need clear cut practical solutions.
Please when will they start the campaign for
Lets-start-factories
Lets-create-jobs
People need JOBS...
If they are unemployed, they would not have enough to give (offerings and the Mandatory one), If people are unemployed, you will all suffer from area boys and road side robbers harrassing your members.
How is your Spiritual Practice (Religious activities) making the community and society better.
After all your singing, dancing, praying, preaching.....
How is it making any difference. What problems are those activities solving.
Do you like the way Nigeria is? Is this really okay?
Are you using all these to shy away from certain responsibilities?
Newton's first law of motion - Nothing will change until you act and things will remain the same until a force makes it do otherwise. Good bless you for this thread. I have always maintained that there is a conspiracy between our religious leaders, traditional rulers and our politicians. And they all have something in common. Intellectual laziness. It's easier to collect tithe and offering than to set up factories and employ people. It's shameful that as a nation we can't feed ourselves but who cares? Sunday morning churches are filled up and Africans are praying and shouting sweet Hallelujah forgetting that prayer is not in the success equation but in the revelation equation. Good roads, electricity, jobs etc only comes as a result of sound decision. |

Then

PYO would also resign for PMB's chosen Vice to take over the reins of leadership while he (PMB) runs the Presidency by proxy.
PYO then gets his slot to also pick his successor and runs things by proxy

Wen our Naira was good, we were consuming local content n doing thgs our own way. Bros our insatiable lust for foreign items is not really the problem, it's not left to the government to direct people on how to spend their money. Most basic commodities the citizens of western nations use at home are made in China. Clothing etc and yet, their economy keeps getting stronger by the day. The truth is there is really no nation that can survive without Importation. But, what is critical is that a nation must take charge of its sensitive sectors of the economy, like oil and gas. Why should we still be importing refined products? That's where they spend 90% of our fx. |

Exportation of raw materials leaves you at the mercy of the western powers. They determine the price. jfleece: We have so many mineral resources that are highly exportable, and profitable.. Yet our incompetent government chose to look the other way.. The question ryt now should be "is Nigeria practicing a constructive and an updated economic framework Is it in consonance with the 21st century methods of international trade ? It's not financially viable to export raw materials. The world economy rewards those that add value to the raw materials than those that export it at its raw state. Mars chocolate makes more than 10times what Ivory Coast the world largest producer of cocoa make in a year. |

Unless the underlying conditions are addressed Exportation is really not the way out. We have to satisfy our basic needs first.
