Alright, I wanted to say if your client was plucking his money from a tree. I presume the 25 is 1:2:4. As a renowned structural engr. Is it okay using 1:4:4 for all the concrete works in a bungalow & a storey building at most? Both columns & slabs?

I prepared a concrete with the mixture of 1:1:2 that is 0ne head pan of granite to one head and of quarry dust, and 2 head pan of granites. This mixture should give Concrete with Grade 30 strength at 28 days.

Engr. Is that the mix ratio u gonna be using for all your concrete works for this project ? Or u just decided to use that mix ratio for the test?

Get the liver of any animal, or an earthworm, apply salt or alcohol on it & see how it reacts. I'm not saying u should abstain from salt, but use very little quantity, because Salt in the diet may worsen fluid buildup and swelling in the liver.

Please for now take a glass of glucose D(powder), twice daily with lots of water. Just form the habit of drinking water whether thirsty or not, I believe what u experience right now is dark yellowish urine. Ensure u take two glass of water before brushing in the morning & two glass before u go to bed. Essence intake of water helps to detoxify the liver, it flushes the liver, pls don't get tired of drinking clean water. Which state are u from? Is there any hepatologist within your reach? Most doctors know little about hepatitis. Since u're already slimming down, I presume u feel some discomfort in your abdomen.

Columns (pillars) are not to terminate at the lintel for any reason.
The concept is for the roof loading to be transferred unto the roof beams then all the pillars at that floor stop inside the roof beam to transmit the loads down.

But some people don't do roof beams to tie the whole of the pillars before they put roof wood carcass.
The roof beam is just like a lintel that is on top of the block wall before the roofing. The usefulness is that where you have the "parapet" it comes out of the roof beam. Where it's just roofing alone, the quater rods that bind the Wall plates for the Roof are embedded inside the reinforcement of the concrete roof beam.

So in general, it's best to take the pillars to the end of the block wall and also to cap it all with a concrete roof beam at least the external walls where the roof will sit on To be able to anchor the Wall plates properly against wind forces.

God bless u sir... And my bricklayer was saying otherwise. Now I know it is always better to entrust one's project to professionals. Please what size of pillar do u suggest I use for my entrance porch? It is a 6inches block wall bungalow. My bricklayer is proposing 225mm x225mm Thanks.

Do u still take alcohol? My brother Livolin is the best drug u ever gonna take treating hep B at this incipient stage, it got no major side effect.

The rest are methionine, immunance, lamivudine, nevirapine & zidovudine tablets, but they got side effects.
Ensure u desist from ALCOHOL & salt. How many times do u take the livolin daily? I think u didn't detect yours on time, u can't be taking livolin at the incipient stage of hep B & still experience slimming down.
Pls go test for other viral infections & let's know the outcome, I can recommend sth for u....

I advise he uses at worst case 1:3:6 (1 bag, 6 sharp sand and 12 granite). This is the mix ratio for what Engrs like me call weak concrete. Maybe that brick layer say that you bought big sized granites only and he wants to tone it down by increasing the quantity of Sharp sand or maybe you don't have enough cement and they want to help you since they think "lintel is not carrying much weight ".
LINTEL IS AS IMPORTANT AS ANY STRUCTURAL ELEMENT! So I advise you use the same mix ratio you used for columns and slab for it. So instruct your bricklayer on what to do not vice versa since you pay d piper

Big reishi=6,930, small reishi=2,520.

precast slab will be expensive
the formwork to the beam
the cost of beam reinforcement
workmanship etc.

Its cheaper to sand filled a bungalow on a relatively gentle ground

Pls Sir How many tons of laterite do I need to fill my building measuring 15m x 21m, depth is 750mm. My builder said it will swallow up like 400tons of laterite, isn't that too much?

Should I be worried if my builder is using 12headpans of sand & 12 headpans of granite to one bag of cement to cast my lintels? The number of wheelbarrows to one bag he was using on site seems to many to me. He's a bricklayer though.

This is quite interesting, what is the difference between emulsion and texcoat paint? Which paint do recommend for a residential building? Can ur men work outside lagos?
