Hope for the best but expect the worst but no, CBN thought they are top of the situation, typical of the way the nation is run..

Why am I surprised, a journey back to memory lane when the polymer notes was introduced should've serve as a blueprint to all this misfits but instead they go about redesigning the notes based on vibes, za plezidency and kunu Zaki.

Nigeria! I hail thee.

For those saying Nigeria will get there. Don't expect countries like this will stay where they are. They will not wait and stay in one position where Nigeria will come and meet them.

How we will get there when it is only oil we produce and we keep on voting leaders that are not innovative, sharp and keep making gaffes when given microphone to give campaign speech on what they will do when voted in is what I don't understand.
I see what you're trying to do with your second paragraph.

I guess some think it's derogatory term used to refer to majority of the black nation neck deep in backwater slum....

It's so sad to see that he has 200 Premier league goals with no trophies to back it up. Too sad. Kane should have left Tottenham like three seasons ago. But he perhaps is a people pleaser who wouldn't get people offended even at his own expense.
We don't know maybe that's the path his soul want.

That has been his goal and maybe by extension that's his own definition of being a successful footballer, no one can really say.

I see people judging him by the number of trophies he has won but in this life, we all have our definition of being successful and fulfiled, some people metrics is based on the amount of cash acquired, to some degrees is what matters, to some awards, to some places traveled to, to some the ability to afford the basic necessities of life and list goes on.

Dear OP,

I must commend you for keep the hope alive, your kind are my hero and not some larger than life folks I read in books or taught in class. Not to sound unique, I've come to one conclusion in my life, regardless of my poor background I've make it a point of duty to toe the part of honor and that has been my own saving grace.

Once again, I must commend you for braving the odds, you're my inspiration.

naijainstinct:
Earlier this week, someone wrote here on Nairaland that "Nigerians don't hate corruption, we only hate when we are not the ones directly perpetrating it".

That said, politicians are corrupt, bankers are corrupt, civil/public servants are corrupt, security agencies are corrupt, political appointees are corrupt, oil marketers are corrupt, business men are corrupt, etc.

Let's talk about the petty traders, artisans and self-employed like the POS operators, anyone wants to rip everyone else off at any given opportunity. We complain about corruption but we also aid and abet corruption.

Today, it's the bankers and POS operators smiling and having a field day, tomorrow is for the oil marketers and the black marketers, next tomorrow is for the immigration officers and their street agents who will rip you off before you can get an international passport, the next day is for public servants who are always seeking ways to siphon public funds or are lackadaisical in service delivery because they believe they are more important than the general public whom they are meant to serve. The next day is for the police, military and paramilitary agencies who are either trying to extort the average Nigerian through bribery, colluding with oil vandals and/or criminals to loot the nation's resources, requesting for "mobilization fees" before helping to apprehend a criminal, pursue justice or even attend to a petition. Then the politicians will form an unholy alliance with the public servants to divert public funds, fund terrorism, banditry and criminality for their selfish interests and personal aggrandizement.

Another day is for the religious leaders, another for the petty traders. Even the corporate businesses like the telcos and the banking institutions are systematically stealing from their customers through hidden, ridiculous and frivolous charges.

As far as Nigeria is concerned, it's a dog-eat-dog society. Actually, it's the way the world is wired but for the fact that some countries have managed to instill discipline by force or by setting in place active systems to curtail human greed. But here, nobody cares. It is a nation of impunity where only the poorest of the poor and the uninfluential face justice.

To conclude, let me borrow someone's analogy about Nigeria. Nigeria is like a fan whose oscillator (mechanism of even wealth distribution) is broken and therefore cannot offer air (equal opportunities) to everyone except those who manage to stand in front of it (the politicians, the corrupt public servants, the greedy businessmen and contractors, the shady security officials, opportunists and beneficiaries of terrorism, banditry and sundry crimes). Instead of us to all come together and find a way to fix this fan's oscillator, we are all struggling to get in front of this fan.

I have stopped praying for Nigeria. Nigeria will be better and great if we all allow it to.

This is clearly my opinion. I did not quote anybody nor oppose anyone. If you are benefitting from the systemic corruption and therefore think you can quote me to share a nonsense contrary opinion, GOD WILL PUNISH YOU!!!!!!
I subscribe to your opinions and if you don't mind, I'd love to share it.

I'll not forget about the credits.

This story is definitely one-sided and looks like something concocted to paint the guy in bad light. The most probable thing I see from the marriage might be that the lady married the guy because she thought he had money. The family of the girl was also drawn to the guy because they thought he had money

Lemme wait to hear from the guy because this story is embellished to draw pity toward the girl

We need to get it right this time around. Can a British citizen take such risk? The answer is no. Certain occurrences in the country has made the citizens ready to take their destinies in their hands.
This got me thinking but I'm afraid the signs are out there, we still have a long way to go.

Take a good look at those pushing deadweight and featherweight politicians as the next best thing as the coming president, I'm not sorry, we are used to the vicious cycle of praising our oppressors.

The rot in our society today can be traced to the basic building block which is the family and hate to say this, we will be having a full blown endemic of irresponsible family in the coming years, values have been eroded and nonsense is now the new norm.

You don't know what you have if you're opportune to pass through the old school style of parenting.
