Lefty500: Epl fan boys have always been calling La liga that.
Whether you believe it or not, it doesn't matter. By the time Pep had spent 13 years and it's 11/13, maybe that time you will accept the reality. Fergie that won 20 sef, no one calls it farmer's league like La liga.... |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester City Vs Chelsea 1 - 0 On 15th January 2022 by Jokerman(m): 4:46pm On Jan 15, 2022 |
Lefty500: City doesn't care, and they have been spending money before Pep came around, splashed money on Balotelli, Robinho, Adebayor, Nasri, Teves, How many league and UCL did they win, how many ucl final did they reach?
It's very painful that Pep has turned EPL to farmer's league. Last season around Dec he was in 9th or 10th Position, they called him all sort of name, he won 22 games and the league was over, now he don win am again.
City brought him to turn their expensive team to an elite team, one that can have a say in Europe and they are getting there gradually.
As of today, if we talking about UCL contenders, can we count United as part of them? And definitely you can't leave out Man city
As for United that you're talking about, what you see today is what SAF built for 26 years, imagine, just 2 ucl, so if Pep could stay that long, then Man United will be nothing beside City.
It took SAF 6 years to win his first EPL and 12 years to win ucl, and Pep only took 1 year and got to final after 5 years. And since has joined City, he has not finished the table below 3rd position.
As for the money, SAF & Man United too spent heavily. Imagine paying as much as €46m for a defender 21years ago, imagine how much that is now, let imagine 3x that's 138m, Pep hasn't bought a player above100m.
If you look at the net spending of city and United, Mancity has justified their spending. Can we say the same for the other team?
Pep is the best when it comes to modern football.
Just enjoying his good football, it's for the body and soul. Barca fans, always shalaying ... na person be Zidane win UCL three times a row, e no shalaye |

OJEEMAH: Who was better does not necessarily mean who scored more goals. My comment had absolutely nothing to do with who the better player was. Salah may have scored more goals but Drogba's goals won more titles for Chelsea. I am not a Chelsea fan but i watched Drogba saved Chelsea in difficult games like their FA Cup win against Man united in 2007, Brace against Arsenal in Carling Cup final, equalizer against Bayern in 2012 UCL final and even the semis against Barcelona and so many games i can't begin to mention. Eto played for a star studded Barcelona team...... I doubt if Eto would have survived that rigid and highly economical Chelsea team that can hold a one goal lead till the end. This isn't to say Drogba was better but the guy was highly influential. Etoo won treble with Mourinho Inter.... |

Sports › Why Do People Always Say EPL Is Not A Farmers League? by Jokerman(op): 4:08pm On Jan 15, 2022 |
Firstly, what do we mean by farmers league? This parlance is used to describe when a particular team dominates a league, over a number of seasons... Fir instance, a team winning the league twice or three times in a row, or over 3 out of 4, 4 our of 5 etc...
Has EPL always been a farmers league, or has the epl always been overrated? Has a team dominated the league for a number of seasons?
Let's take a look...
1. Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson
Manchester United has dominated the league by winning it three seasons on a row. And this it has done on 3 different occasions.
2. Chelsea under Jose Mourinho
Chelsea won the league 2 seasons on a row, breaking records with other teams playing catch up. Mourinho left the league, came back again and won the league with Chelsea
3. ManchesterCity under Pep Guardiola
Manchester City has won the league, 3 times out of a possible 5, now almost on the Verge of winning 4 out of 6. This is another dominance with a different style, and breaking records along the way... I remember we all said Pep won't be able to do it in the EPL.... Now it seems Man city has won the league before it starts.
However some can argue that, the reason why EPL is not a farmers league, is that after winning for 2 consecutive seasons, another team must come out and win to break the streak, except for Ferguson's Man utd who did 3 seasons straight.... and that other leagues, a team can do 5 seasons straight e.g Laliga Ligue1, Serie A, Eredivisie etc.... and as well we can say UCL is a farmer's league to Real Madrid
Or what constitutes the farmer league |

anungangampu: I know when Pep came to premiership some said he is doomed to fail as he can't win the league. He just won it 4 times out of five. They said he has a costly team, Manchester United doubled that yet in 7th position. If he wins this one this will make it 4 out of 6.... Liverpool won last season epl, in which he could have won it 3 on a roll like Fergie |

No more competition in EPL.... this fools want to bring about another Ferguson era dominance.... just lazy players everywhere..... Even when Pep was dominating with his Barca until Mourinho 2nd season, hungry players played with competition that they even had 100 points against Pep's Barca in laliga.... I doubt any overrated English team can do so.... |
