PoliticsRe: Why You Must Not Blame The North For Voting Buhari by Jombom: 7:06am On Mar 02, 2019
Was this what your father told you ?
Many foolish Igbos need to be beating to death for narrative such as this I swear.
ImDStar:
I was born and brought up in the north, so I can say I have lived 85% of my life in the north so far.

The reason why I said we cannot blame our northern brethren is this

1. Majority of northerners believes there is nothing more to life than eat, sleep and have wives, while the southern counterpart believes there is more to life than
just sleeping, eating, waking up and having children.

2. To the northerners, good government and development come last after tribe and religion while that is a complete opposite to what the southern counterpart believes.

I carried out some interview with some of them and my question was:
do you think Buhari deserves 2nd term?

Majority of them said to me and i quote " even if Buhari did nothing, we will still vote for him"
Majority of this people were shoe makers and road side tailors and little of the elite.

3. They don't have a say as to what direction to go than the one dictated to them by their elites.
That's why till tomorrow, one can dictate which direction their votes could go.

Of course that cannot be said of the South, 2019 should give you a clear view.

I only pity some persons who thinks Tinubu controls the SW, pls don't let the media deceive you with that illusion, tinubu boundary ends in Lagos, and even in Lagos today you can see that without rigging, tinubu would have been relegated like saraki.

4. They are politically incline as to why they need to vote than the South but they are poor in good judgement.

I can tell you without mincing words that Atiku wins Lagos if not for rigging, asked yourself why enlightened Abuja voters voted against Buhari and struggling north voted for him.

5. The Northerners don't believe Atiku to be deep in Islam like Buhari.

Except we want to deceive ourselves, Buhari is more religious than Atiku just as the north believes no real Yoruba Muslim.

These are my little observations.

so we are suppose to be scared of Asari
sarrki:
A former Niger Delta militant leader Asari Dokubo has threatened reprisals over the alleged killing of “Biafra” people in Lagos, Concise News reports.

Concise News understands that they were some level of violence in Lagos during the presidential and governorship election with some “Biafra”people attacked.

While speaking about the development, Dokubu in a video blamed politicians for the incidents.

He also berated the killings in Rivers State during the electoral exercise on Saturday.

“We will revenge the killings” he warned the Yorubas.

Mumu the Igbo gave Buhari more vote than they did in 2015 that alone negate this your cry of sorrow
IkpuMmadu:
I am so happy with this people called the Igbos. I am so happy with their wisdom and industry. I am happy with their doggedness and pride. I am proud of their disobedience at times. I am proud of their capacity and capability to analyze and judge every situation on real time. I am proud of their ability to disagree on what other tribes would readily accept without deep analysis and their strong determination to follow through on anything they agree upon. I am proud of the way they Accept challenges.

However, I have never been this proud before. Nigeria lost the elections but the Igbos won the elections. They told you Mr. Buhari that they hate you to your face. They hate your personality. They hate what you have done to their children, what you have done to pregnant women in many parts of Nigeria by ripping open their wombs and ordering he death of Christian priests in Benue and the killings of their brethren in parts of the North. They say they hate the blood shed in Southern Kaduna, in Benue, in Zamfara, in Adamawa, in Taraba, in Borno and Yobe. You love and pamper Boko Haram. You release, rehabilitate and even enlist into the Nigerian Army and Police Boko Haram terrorists. Igbos hate Boko Haram. They hate bloodshed and they regard human life as sacred. You are the grand patron of the murderous Fulani Herdsmen and Igbos don’t want your cattle colonies in their towns and cities.

They denied you their votes and subjected you and your cabal to rigging in order to win. Igbos hate your divide and rule policies. They hate your ethnic based leadership and your nepotism. They hate injustice, ethnic and religious bigotry. Igbos hate poverty. That is the victory of their votes. They defeated you and Tinubu in your Lagos. They have confirmed to you that they are in Lagos, Abuja, PortHarcout and all over the south.
And for the rest of Nigeria, sorry for you. Igbos have done their part. They have rejected evil and his ministers. Their votes are their witness. The blood of all the young men killed in Portharcourt last Saturday bear witness to them. Their resistance in Lagos sing their triumph.
Whatever will happen in Nigeria the next four years, count Igbos innocent because they saw evil and rejected it. And those who desire evil and aided this evil will live with it. Igbos have done their part and hoping that one day, only one day, the rest of Nigeria will remember the sacrifices of the Igbo nation for the freedom of Nigeria of which their ancestors were the founding fathers. Thank you all Igbos who are still alive in Nigeria. You won the elections and you won my heart and hearts of all men and women of good will by shaming the devil.

Do not worry but trust God to vindicate you.
THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES!!

The Jihadist Government control the courts. The CJN and all election tribunal judges were selected by them. They control the Army. All defence chiefs except one are northern Muslims selected by them. Why are some still deceiving themselves with technology? Are PVC and card reader not technology enough? When will we grow sense? When will our mumu do?

There is no point responding to your wailing but it is very okay for Igbos to be united n vote a single party. In fact it is the right thing to do but you n your father must not wail when Aboki vote a single party too which is APC. You wailing about that translate to you being the biggest bastard on the face of the earth, what is good for the goose is good for the gander.
Ganiyat72:
^^
This thing above is the reasons I dislike igbos from imo state axis, who suffers from inferiority complex unlike their Anambra counterpart who aren't bothered about what other people or tribe think or Say about their political learning or decisions.

This is to encourage young Igbos post election and
not a divisive post.
Please dont see it as offensive.
We do what we do as a result of who we are!
We are Igbos, and proud of it. No apologies.
Igbos are not united!
Igbos are not united!
It was the same people who sell you the stereotype
that Igbos are not united that came out, to fight the
unity of Igbos at Okota/Ago, other parts of Lagos
and Igbo land in general.
Seeing that their narrative is failing, they are now
selling another narrative. They are saying Igbos are
putting all their eggs in one basket.
How can the whole of the Igbos vote PDP?
Now we are being accused of not being divided
enough to spare some votes for APC. Olee ihe
emere ya adi uwa mma?
A little history will suffice. We are an egalitarian
society. Indirect rule didn't work with Igbos. It
worked well with the North and the South West but
not with Igbos. Warrant Chiefs didn't help matters
either. So really, Igbos are not political lots. Same
reason voter aparthy is highest in Igbo land.
But when we take a political stand, we speak with
one voice. That is who we are.
We have always done. We did it with Shagari,
Obasanjo, Ya'radua and Jonathan. We are doing it
against Buhari.
Make no mistake, we have always put our political
eggs in one basket and that is who we are. That is
why we don't entertain dynasties. The likes of Saraki
and Tinubu and Mohammed won't last a decade in
Igbo land.
We are decisive and courageous. If that is what you
call arrogance, then so be it. But we will never
stand on the fence.
I write this because of the young generation of
Igbos in Nigeria. Go home to your fathers in the
villages and ask questions. Learn how to be Igbo
without being apologetic. The first thing people
notice about an Igbo man is his enterprising spirit.
It is not found anywhere else. Ihe agwo muru
aghaghi ito ogologo.
We can't apologize for who we are. But what we do
not have is the spirit of Nigerian politics. We don't
play the politics of "Master say! Alhaji say!
Everyone is a master in Igbo land. Onweghi onye na
akpanye ibe ya nri.
The Igwe of my community has no more stake in
the affairs of my community than I do. He is more
of a representative of the people to the government
and the custodian of our tradition than a "ruler" in
the real sense of it. That is why we have the
cabinet and elders in council.
Igbo amaghi eze.
It is not a bad thing in a sense that decisions are
collectively taken, from the household, through the
hamlets to the community. It does not make us
lawless lots. The consultative mechanism is our
strength. Igwe bu ike.
This is the singular reason why the Ohanaeze Ndi
Igbo has been able to evolve into that rallying point
for the Igbos like the Arewa People's Congress for
Northerners, Oodua Peoples Congress and the
Afenifere for Yorubas.
Let us all brace up for the times ahead.
Someone who will dislike you will not always need
a reason to. Add the ingenuity and hardwork of the
average Igbo man to the mix, and dislike quickly
turns to hate.
And I understand it. I perfectly do. Its not easy to
like someone who comes back to your land, after
being sent packing just a few decades ago with just
some two pounds and all his properties confiscated
by his hosts.
He comes back and acquires them back hundred
folds, marries your daughters and prospers with
them. Then goes ahead to not only carve
settlements in Ojodu and Ojo for themselves, but is
about to become a determinant to your political
future in a dispensation where you have been
promised a second place.
What they may never know is that the ordinary Igbo
man is not interested in your presidency. We thrive
wherever we go. So when you say we are not
strategizing enough for the presidency, we don't see
it how you see it.
The average Igbo man simply wants a good
environment for his business, and good
infrastructure for a decent life. The things which
"presidency" has not bestowed on any ethnic group
in Nigeria.
The five Igbo states have since 2012 almost
consistently occupied the best positions in WAEC
and produced the highest number of medical and
engineering students in Nigeria.
Check the Igbo business in Lagos, Kano, Maiduguri,
Portharcourt. Most are not based on government
patronage. We make things out of nothing.
Presidency means nothing to an average Igbo man.
The ten poorest and educationally backward states
in Nigeria are within the regions that have held the
presidency within the last two decades.
A good example is the very primary school where
President Buhari cast his vote. It was the closest to
his ancestral home. A "successful" Onitsha business
man who has made money from his trade will know
that the church and the school closest to his home
is the very yardstick to measure his success. He
needs not become president to refurbish them. Ana
esi na ulo mara mma puo ama.
THE CONCLUSION
To the young generation of Igbos, I say to you
today, Quit trying to impress anyone about how
hospitable or detribalized you are!
Nnamdi Azikiwe did it and failed, Jonathan did
everything imaginable, things he did not do for his
native South South and yet failed. If you think you
can please Nigeria, then you have another thing
coming.
Look at Benue people, they received the greatest
visit of deaths from this government. But they'd
rather die some more than let an Igbo man smell
the Vice Presidency. And tomorrow, they will also
tell you Igbos don't know politics. And you will want
to engage them in an argument.
Do not be disturbed when you hear them say we are
not united. We have never been that kind of united
people. Read our history. Even as Igbos were dying
in their hundreds during the pogrom, Gen. Ojukwu,
one of the first Igbo men who realized that this
"forced marriage" can never work was only
"permitted" to embark on the war against Nigeria by
seeking the voice of every hamlet, every village and
every community. He did not take unilateral
decisions.
That's how decisions are taken in Igbo land. We do
no alienate those who are in dissent. We do not
allow one Tinubu to make decisions for some and
another Saraki for others, so that our two eggs are
comfortably placed in two baskets. No! We rise to
the occasion wherever we are, Lagos, Kano, Kaduna,
sokoto. Our spirits communicate with each other
and not with any leader figure and decide what is
best for us. Either you respect us for getting it, or
you respect us for trying. This is who we are, and
we are not changing it soon. We are Igbos. Deal
with it.
Written by Ugo Finian
I will repeat the last line.
WE ARE IGBOS. DEAL WITH IT.

If they're smart enough, igbo presidency should be what is paramount on their mind.

The smart apc chiefs among them would see the way we have managed to buoy the pdp with dedicated loyalty.
That is more than I can say for some others , according to yakassai.

Buhari lost the south again, again, thanks to the igbo campaign against him.
His votes in the north helped him. Another candidate would not be that lucky.

If apc want their long term stay in power, they need to get the east on board.
The presidency would be a start.

Peter Obi is a bigoted lying fraudster
Moghalu is an idiot with no integrity after going back on his word on their collation with other parties. The only one that can be considered for 2923 is Durotoye. Also concerning unity of the south pls call Azikwe n ask him why he choice to pally with the the North that gave him ceremonial power than the West that gave him prime powers. Until Igbo explain this to Yoruba you don’t talk unity of the south. Yoruba can pally with the South like with did with Jonathan in his first but I doubt if we can deal with the backbiting bigoted tribe you are from.

mekaboy:
If we don't have a southern Nigeria, this country will not move forward. It's unfortunate that the North will decide who becomes president from their region and also decide who becomes president from the south.

People in the south are preparing for 2023. That would have been an opportunity for the like of moghalu, fela durotoye, Peter obi etc to rule Nigeria and make things better. Unfortunately, it's still the North with their rigging machines and underage voters that will determine who wins.

So an incompetent, corrupt politicians from the south who has has affiliation to the North will emerge winner, and things continue to get worse.

We need a situation where the south decides who rules the south and the North decides who rules the North.
