PoliticsInsecurity Has Driven Anambra/igbo People Away, Says Soludo by jona2(op): 3:40am On Nov 17, 2009
Insecurity has driven Anambra people away, says Soludo
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2010 polls in Anambra and former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo said that the level of insecurity in the state was alarming. It has driven people to hold their traditional weddings in Abuja and Lagos, he says. He talked with CHUKS COLLINS in Awka. Excerpts.

HOW far have you gone with reconciling aggrieved members of your party the PDP in view of the tension your nomination raised?

It wonÕt be an exaggeration to say that Anambra is at least 80 per cent PDP. It is not the same with other parties. I put it at a conservative 80 per cent because every other party in the state is a breakaway faction of the PDP. And being a large family, you are bound to have people of different shades of views. Our first task actually is to strive to keep the house together, mobilise the house into the formidable party that it is. I think we have largely succeeded. A large section of the party is intact and is getting ready to take back power in the state because what we have today is an aberration; a little bit of an accident, so to speak. The PDP members have resolved to take back power [/b in the state.

In what sense are you talking of aberration in the state?

There are two parties in power in the state today. The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has the executive arm, while the PDP has 100 per cent of the legislative arm. It is such that even the single APGA member in the House of Assembly, out of 30, has decamped to the PDP that he says that what happened in 2003 was an accident. We also know from the results of that election that APGA did not have the spread. There was a kind of protest vote that year and people fragmented into so many parties. The APGA then had a simple majority but did not have the 50 per cent in two third of the council areas of the state. However, we know the crises that happened that time and how eventually the APGA candidate was declared the winner. But still the rank and file of Anambra, the vast majority of the people are still with PDP and in spite of these other fragments of political parties in the state, its still safe to say that at least 80 per cent are still PDP.

Many years after its creation, Anambra is behind her peers in terms if development. What do you think is the problem?

Well, that is precisely way I am running. I would not be running if the state were realising more than 10 per cent of its potentials. I would not be running if Anambra as richly endowed in human and material resources is actually standing up to be counted among the states of Nigeria. Anambra has become the butt of every joke. There is no physical war going on, but the people are moving out in droves as if a refuge, as it was out of the state. Joblessness is the second name, insecurity is the other and the state should actually be number one in terms of economic development; every indicator shows that.

Onitsha is not only decaying, it is dead. People are daily moving out to places like Asaba

There is no symptom or sign to show that the state is moving forward. If anything, every indicator shows that the state is in a reverse gear; moving backwards. And that is why some of us have volunteered in spite of grave personal inconvenience to say, Ôif not us, who; if not now, when?Õ I give credit to those who have been governors of the state, including the incumbent I can say that given their capacity and other issues, they have done a good job, especially where you have had a history of people getting 10 per cent, 15 per cent or 30 per cent. If you get a 40 per cent, it would be regarded as a good job. But for me, this election is about a 40 per cent to 50 per cent performance when someone has a capacity to deliver 99 per cent. Anambra is a first class state; it needs a first class material. It is not a third class state and that is why I am in the race. I believe that Anambra has got the men and women with first rate materials to lift the state to realise 99.9 per cent of its potentials instead of the 40 per cent that is beginning to look like a great achievement.

What would be the priorities?

The draft copy of our manifesto will unveil what we have planned for the state. It is a revolution; it is a design to build Anambra as AfricaÕs own Dubai-Taiwan. That is the big dream. I have in mind what we are going to do from the first day, not just the first 100 days; the legislations and the kind of programmes that must be put in place; the declaration of state of emergency on Onitsha and the other four major urban centers of Awka, Nnewi, Nkpor and Ekwulobia urban. I donÕt want to pre-empt our plans at this stage but one big idea is that we will start to lay the foundation to create 300,000 jobs over a period of time at the minimum. The people would start to come to Anambra for job, and not Anambra people moving in droves in search of non-existing jobs elsewhere. The world must begin to return to Anambra that has the strategic geographical advantage to be AfricaÕs Dubai-Taiwan. When you move down to those places, our administration would lay the foundation for a good beginning for the state.

Insecurity fuelled by with kidnapping and violent crime is a menace in the state. What do you think has led to the critical stage?

It is the common talk that security has become an intractable problem in the state. It is now so bad that people now perform the usual traditional marriage rites outside the state and in places like Lagos, Abuja. You can imagine for an Igbo man to perform the mandatory traditional carrying of wine in cities outside their country homes and kindred. It is because people are no longer safe to go home for fear of being kidnapped or robbed, or even being killed by hoodlums. You cannot have development, and investments in a place where people cannot sleep with their two eyes closed. It is part of our agenda, but there is no strategy to tackle it that will work in the long run if there is no effort to create jobs. My primary aim is to create hundreds of thousands of jobs.

Since 1998, each successive governor has failed or refused to hold council electionÉ

That is one of the things we will do within the first year in office. I have told the people to prepare for council election as soon as we settle down in office. The state will no longer appropriate the funds of the councils. We must create developments to the grassroots.[/[

Lamentation as inferno razes millions
Metro Nov 16, 2009 By Fredrick Okopie

THE fire raged unabated for a long time, especially as the fire fighting agencies and sympathisers could do little to bring it under control. And by the time it had spent its rage, properties worth over N50 million had been razed and destroyed.

This was the tragedy that, last week, befell some residents at Ifelodun Street and Canal Road at Ajegunle in Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government.

The fire which started few minutes to one o’clock from one of the rooms of a building in Canal Road spread to other parts of the sprawling neighbourhood, affecting mostly those living adjacent Ifelodun Street. But happily enough its possible spread to other houses was halted by a fence erected by an Apostolic church.

But for this fence it could have extended to more streets, because all the houses were close to each other and built with planks, a factor which, together with the common use of generators in the area, was said to have aided its rapid spread and scale of destruction.

*Some affected residents staring helplessly at the charred remains of their former homes
As the inferno was spreading from the Canal Road end, residents at the opposite end were able to rescue a few of their belongings.

The incident naturally attracted a large crowd of sympathisers and curious onlookers. Also conspicuous by their large presence when Vanguard Metro visited were the ubiquitous social miscreants popularly known as area boys who also assisted in fighting the fire. Students from various schools flooded the Sunny Foam Close leading to the scene of the fire.

Men from the Lagos State Fire Service and Safety came with three water tanks. Their intervention was said to have reduced the damage to some surrounding buildings. Policemen from the Ajeromi Ifelodun Station had a tough time of it controlling the surging crowd of onlookers and preventing criminal elements from stealing.

Vanguard Metro’s investigation could not immediately establish the cause of the fire outbreak. Many people, including those directly affected, were not ready to speak on the accident.

But a woman in her late 40s was over heard saying that the fire started in one of the rooms belonging a man who bolted immediately he realised that the fire had got out of control.

A resident, Mr. Samuel Oji, told Vanguard Metro he was observing his afternoon rest when his aged mother woke him up to inform that the next building was on fire.

This was how he put it: “The fire started in the next building from ours occupied by a guy that sells meat at Alaba market. He was cooking inside his room when suddenly there was a fire outbreak. But instead of screaming for help so that people will know and probably come to his rescue he refused. He thought he could put out the fire on his own, but he couldn’t do it. By then the fire has gotten to his roof; from his room it spread to other rooms. That was when he decided to run away, aware that the fire had got out of control.

“Thank God for my aged mother who was around; if not nobody knows what could have happened. Some guys were called to rescue her and I took her to about six blocks away from here”.

Mr. Oji also revealed that though no life was lost in the incident, most of the 12 buildings in the area were gutted by the fire. He puts the monetary value of properties destroyed to about N60 million.

As he was speaking with Vanguard Metro, the owner of a BMW car with registration number AH282MUN which was partly affected by the fire was staring ruefully at the charred remains of some vital documents which was the only thing he could salvage. For some reasons, the man was visibly angry that Mr. Oji was speaking to the press. “What does he want, will the press bring back my burnt certificates and documents?” he asked rhetorically, adding: “You better leave this place before I bath you with this dirty water”.

There was also comic relief at some point as a stray cat was mobbed to death by the area boys who were trying to put out the fire. As soon as the cat was killed, one of the boys shouted in Yoruba, ‘obe!’, meaning soup. And they took the dead cat away, possibly to prepare it for eating.

The area boys also did not spare a pot of rice which was rescued from the fire. They descended on it, ate up everything within sight and washed it down with water they got from a fire fighting vehicle.

why would anyone want to get involve in drug.

If you people in nigeria see the side effect of drug on people. You would look for money in other places.

You turn the people into crack head. This is what your drug carrying turn the user into.

This is what your desire for money make others. how can you go to sleep knowing this is what drug do to others.

SATANIC FACE
Cleric reveals personality of Satan

More Stories on This Section
Apostle John OKoriko,Senior Pastor, Solid Rock Kingdom Church, Akwa Ibom State is not a stranger to controversies. Just as the dust on witchcraft controversies in which he took to task nearly all the pastors in Akwa Ibom, were beginning to lull, Okoriko has come out with another bunch of controversies. This time the controversies are embedded in his latest book entitled “Every Satan has a Human Face.”

The clergyman told Daily Sun that he wrote the 161-page book not necessarily to win argument in favour of any school of thought either ancient or modern, but to establish the truth that sets people free.
According to him, the book is out to debunk “the age-long belief in an unidentified spirit called Satan. Satan or devil, like God whether with capital or with small G, is a title not a name of anybody. But any human who does evil against the true God and humanity is always identified with either devil or Satan, meaning evildoer.

“The book is also debunking the illusion that Satan is responsible for man’s undoing, for example, failure in health, business (career), marriage, education, governance, even natural death and calamities, all these are blamed on Satan instead of man himself. The enthronement of the so-called Satan using preachments, prayers, songs, prophecies in religious circles, prayer houses, occult and magic centres in conducting worship of the Lord God is abomination of the highest order, just as disregarding human ability to create negative images, thoughts and forms.”

Then who is to blame for the assumed evils taking over the world? Okoriko has only one word for an answer –Man. “Man in creation is next to the Almighty God. His ability to make himself a god or create a god of his own has never been in doubt. Man though fell from the grace of his maker still maintains the likeness and the exact image of his creator in the realm of imagination where all wickedness began in the beginning.”

The cleric who supports his assertion with Bible passages quotes; “The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” He stresses that the Lord said He would “destroy man not Satan or spirit; not even the serpent which is believed to be the originator of evil did not share in the verdict because it is believed though blindly that the serpent was a spirit being.”
Delving into more controversies, the apostle says the serpent as depicted in the Bible is only metaphorical; but no serpent tempted Eve to fall but man, who convinced her into committing adultery.

“There were other people on earth referred to in the Bible as Eden. But a man on earth or Eden had a carnal knowledge of Eve and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. Cain was not the son of Adam but that of another man, and when he grew up, he continued in the wicked of his forebears by killing Abel. And that forbidden fruit is symbolic; it means sex.”

Okoriko says what motivated him to write the 10-chapter piece is because no one has been courageous enough to tell the truth or most adherents to the Christian faith have not been availed the truth concerning their belief. Rather, he said “all other most likely subjects are already over-flogged and the world market of such regular conventional issues at whatever topic are better handled by wise men and women of no mean repute before now. The world in its wisdom has produced professors in various endeavours, especially in education, science and technology, religion, occult, astrology just to mention but a few. I was led of the Lord to choose the title ‘Every Satan Has a Human Face’ because its time has come, and all truth is parallel, as is in science, so also it is in religion- for there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed.

“No one or institution takes the honour or credit for this book; the lord gives and takes the glory. A situation where Christians and believers of other faiths conspire to be silent in this all important subject-matter is better known as A conspiracy of silence while all are talking Everyone is talking, blaming, accusing, charging and even rebuking Satan in preachments, prophesying, praying both in fear and in faith but nobody dares to ask this misunderstood, misrepresented, illusionary enemy or enemies such questions as David did- To who belongesth thou? And whence art thou?
“If anyone would dare to ask the right question at the right time, the law of providence requires: For everyone that asketh receiveth, and he that seeketh findeth and to him that knocked it shall be open.
“This book may seem to be the lone voice in the wilderness of scepticism, prejudice and outright superstition or ignorance. Nevertheless, the wisdom enshrined in the pages of this book will inspire millions around the world for whose sake this book is caused to be written to the glory and honour of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.”

A lecturer of political science, Dr E.O. Frank who reviewed the book when it was presented to the public, writes; “It is instructive to note that every Christian daily has to fight a battle with the phenomenon called Satan. Many do not know the make-up of Satan.
“In the light of this, is assuring that the book has finally unveiled Satan and this will enable every person to re-strategize on how to deal with Satan once and for all. Most importantly, this book has revealed the true name of Satan. It is herein posited that Satan is not devil, serpent, dragon or snake as the fairytales books would have it represented. It is instructive to note that this book dispels the age-long prejudice that Satan is always black as the fairytales would have us believe.

“The highpoint of this is that it has made known to me and you the following: its (Satan’s real name, house address, the location of town where it is domiciled, its GSM number, and most of all, it has availed us with how to deal with it, and how to avoid it if you choose to.”
He, however, said the title of the book creates fear and make people see everybody around them as a potential Satan since every Satan has a human face. But he concludes; “The book has changed the direction of my prayers since I now know who Satan is. You can make you prayer much more effective when you get to know who Satan is.”

Where is our son?
By Jude IsiguzoPublished TodayNewsRating: Unrated
•Relations of missing 34-year-old man ask

Okechukwu Five months after he left home, Okechukwu Nsofor, a trader, is yet to be found. His relations are in a quandary as to his whereabouts. They are asking the police to help solve the riddle of his whereabouts. JUDE ISIGUZO reports.

Where is our son? This is the question members of the Nsofor family of Oraeri town in Anambra State are asking.

They have been searching for their 34-year-old son, Okechukwu, whose whereabouts is unknown.

Okechukwu was said to have left home on June 10 for Ojo Barracks to claim a debt from two of his kinsmen - Chikwelu Okoro and Ikechukwu Anierobi - but has since not returned home.

Okechukwu was reportedly seen with some members of the Charismatic fellowship at St. Michael, Rapheal and Gabriel Catholic Church, Satellite Town, Lagos.

Though the matter has already been reported to the police, they are yet to
establish whether it was kidnap or murder.

But investigations by The Nation showed that the police suspect ritual murder.

The suspicion, it was learnt, was fuelled by the discovery of a shrine in one of the rooms in Okechukwu’s former abode.

The shrine was reportedly put up by his debtors, Okoro and Anierobi.

Until his disappearance, Okechukwu, a resident of No. 20 Edo Kpolo Street, Abuleoshun, on the outskirts of Lagos, was trading in foreign exchange.

One of Okechukwu’s relations, who craved for anonymity, narrated how Okechukwu met Okoro and Anierobi through a fellow church member whose name was given as Paul.

Paul, it was leant, was an apprentice, who had accommodation problem.

He told Okechukwu of his plight and he took him in.

But when Okechukwu travelled to his Oraeri countryhome in Anambra State, Paul took in Okoro and Anierobi.

Although Okechukwu did not take lightly to Okoro’s and Anierobi’s invitation, he, nonetheless, accommodated them.

Trouble began when Okechukwu spoke of his plan to relocate to the North.

He reportedly told them that on his relocation to the North, he would rent out his apartment and sell some of his furniture.

Okoro and Anierobi said they were willing to pay Okechukwu N220, 000 for the outstanding one year rent, and some of the furniture.

But they said Paul would not live with them since he was not making any contribution.

Okechukwu appealed to them to accommodate Paul. They agreed, and began to live with him.

Preparatory to his leaving his Abuleoshun home, Okechukwu moved to his in-laws house in Festac, and was visiting once in a while. On one of such visits, he found out that Okoro and Anierobi had built a shrine.

When he was confronted with the strange sight, Okechukwu beat a retreat and informed members of his prayer group who advised him not to go there again.

They said anytime he wants to go and collect the rent, he should not go alone.

But on June 8, Anierobi called Okechukwu to inform him that the money was ready and that he should come to Ojo Barracks to collect it.

When Anierobi called him, he put his phone on speaker.

Some members of his prayer group heard the conversation.

They advised Okechukwu not to go to Army Barracks for whatever reason.

On June 10, Okechukwu returned from a Bible study when he got a call from Okoro that he should come and collect the money.

Okechukwu went and has since not returned.

Alarmed at his disappearance, his elder brother reported the matter at the Festac Police Station.

The suspects were arrested, and were later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti.

In the course of their investigation, the police discovered the shrine in Okechukwu’s room.

They also found Okechukwu’s mobile phone with one of the suspects.

Upon interrogation, Okoro and Anierobi confirmed that they asked Okechukwu to come for the money at Ojo Barracks.

They said Okechukwu told them that he would be with them in 30 minutes but they waited endlessly for him.

They said they tried his mobile phone, it was switched off.

When asked how the shrine came about, Anierobi said they worshipped there as members of the Idemiri deity.

He said the shrine was for prayers and not for anything sinister.

Drug trafficker in danger, needs operation to remove ingested cocaine
Adelowo Oladipo, Lagos - Updated: Tuesday 17-11-2009

Ferdinard OkekeIf the results of medical
tests conducted were anything to go by, a suspected drug trafficker arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, may need a surgical operation to remove a wrap of cocaine that had got stuck in his stomach.

The suspect, Okeke Ferdinard Ekwunife, 36, who claimed to have worked as a cleaner in London for over 10 years, was arrested on October 26, while allegedly attempting to board a British Airways flight to London.

Others apprehended, according to Mitchel Ofoyeju, Head, Public Affairs Department of the anti-drugs agency, included a businesswoman, Bolanle Adeyanju Moyinoluwa a.k.a. Mama Seye, 45; Salam Adesino Ibiyinka, 46; Benjamin Akonam Nwankwo, 32 and Uka Charles Onuoha, 35.

The suspects were allegdly found to have tested positive to drug ingestion. Uka Charles ingested 89 wraps of
cocaine weighing 1.340kilogrammes; Akonam Benjamin ingested 81 wraps of cocaine weighing 1.694kilogrammes while others still under observation.

Reacting to the development, the Chairman/Chief Executive of the NDLEA, Ahmadu Giade warned prospective drug traffickers of the dangers associated with the ingestion of narcotics.

He also assured that the suspects would be given intensive medical care to remove the wraps of cocaine from his stomach. “Let me reiterate for the umpteenth time that besides the damage to the image of our country, drug traffickers also expose themselves to grave medical risk when they ingest narcotics.

“Drug traffickers must know the implications of drug trafficking and shun the shameful and deadly act. We are however, trying our best to expel the remaining wrap of suspected substance from his stomach,” Giade stressed.

Meanwhile, Ferdinand who is said to be married to a German lady allegedly told NDLEA officials that he needed money to survive because he was jobless.“Although I have asked God for forgiveness, I smuggled drugs for survival. I lost my job; my German wife left me and things are difficult. I swallowed 81 wraps and I have excreted 80 remaining one.

They promised to pay me 3,000 dollars, out of which I was given 500 pounds. It was in the process of trying to borrow some money that I ended up in this mess. Initially, I was scared because it was my first time. My travel expenses were paid and I was in a hotel for four weeks in Lagos,” he stated.

Ferdinand claimed to have hailed from Agulu village in Aniocha Local Government Area of Anambra State. Also, the NDLEA acting Airport Commander, Alhaji Idris Bello said that the agency had conducted scan to confirm the location of the wrap. According to the commander, if other medical solutions failed, the suspect would be operated upon.

Bolanle Adeyanju was also apprehended by NDLEA operatives on November 7, at about 9 p.m, during screening of passengers on Iberia flight. The suspect, who was on her way to Madrid, confessed to have ingested 75 wraps of cocaine for an undisclosed fee.

“I am ashamed of myself. I am a successful cement dealer. I own three trucks, but I sold everything. I am well-known at Apapa, Lagos. I have two children in school; a boy and a girl but I am a divorcee. I just returned from the United States, where I went to visit my sister. I feel very bad because I met a young man of about 37 years, who introduced me into this business. He said that if I take the drugs there and I am paid I can buy handbags and ladies shoes to sell for the Christmas period and I agreed. What do I tell my children?” she lamented.

Bolanle, as of the time of her arrest, lives at Alagbado, Lagos but hails from Osun State. Also arrested on November 7, on the same Iberia flight was a 46-year-old trader, Salam Adeshino Ibiyinka. He was said to have confessed ingesting 95 wraps of narcotics on his way to Paris for a fee of 2,000 Euros.

In his words; “I do not know the people that gave me the drugs. I live at Bariga, Lagos and I sell shoes. I used to buy my shoes from Ghana, Benin Republic and Togo. This is my first time of travelling to Europe. I swallowed the drugs in a guest house. My target was to do some work over there and add the money to the 2,000 Euros. I am married and blessed with four children I have no helper. It was suffering that made me to smuggle the drugs. I blame myself and I regret everything.” Salam claims to have hailed from Odogbolu in Ogun State.

Benjamin Akonam Nwankwo was nabbed on November 3, on his way to Madrid, Spain during screening of passengers on an Iberia flight.“I actually came for a burial ceremony at Enugu, but I was convinced to deliver the drugs that I would be paid 2,800 Euros. I met the man who introduced me to the drug trade at a drinking joint at Mile 2 Lagos. This is my first time and I thought I will be lucky. I must confess, it is a bitter lesson for me because I will lose everything I have in Europe,” he stated. He claimed to have come from Orlu, Imo State.

Another suspect, Uka Charles Onuoha, an automobile parts dealer in Lagos was allegedlly caught on October 25, 2009, while attempting to board a KLM flight to Lisbon.

“I met one I.K at the German Embassy in Lagos who introduced me into the drug business. I swallowed 89 wraps and they promised to pay me 3,800 Euros. I am not used to detention. This is my first time. I needed money for my traditional marriage coming up on December 24, 2009 and I also need an accommodation, because I am living with a friend. Initially, I did not agree to do it, because I have travelled twice this year and on both occasions I was scanned for drugs by the NDLEA,” Uka stated.

Ofoyeju said that some of the suspects were still under observation to excrete all the wraps of drugs before they would be arraigned in court.

NDLEA arrests two, recovers N81m worth of cocaine
Adelowo Oladipo, Lagos Updated: Tuesday 17-11-2009

Amhadu Giade,
(Chairman, NDLEA)Two clearing and forwarding agents are presently being quizzed by the operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos State, about the N81 million worth of cocaine found in a cargo which they had come to claim.

The agents whose names were given as Abdullahi Shaba, 42 and Salau Nurudeen Wale, were allegedly arrested on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, while attempting to clear the consignment with Air Waybill number 176-8457 3576.

The cargo was said to have been imported from Brazil on an Emirate Cargo flight by Fuitful Investment Nig Limited.

The agency’s Head of Public Affairs, Mr. Ofoyeju Mitchell, told Crime and Security last week in Lagos that the achievement was made following the determination of the anti-drugs agency to go the all the way in its renewed fight against drug traffickers and their sponsors.

Mitchell stated that the Chairman of the NDLEA, Ahmodu Giade, had vowed to dislodge drug cartels in the country following recent discoveries of narcotics imported through the cargo section of the Lagos airport.

He stated that the latest was the discovery of 7.350 kg of cocaine industrially packed inside 26 pairs of garden shears and 60 trowels.

“The consignment with Air Waybill number 176-8457 3576, was imported from Brazil on an Emirate Cargo flight by Fuitful Investment Nig Limited at the Cargo Section of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos. Two clearing and forwarding agents, Abdullahi Shaba, 42 and Salau Nurudeen Wale have been arrested in connection with the consignment which was shipped by a Brazilian firm, Absoluta Trading.”

The estimated street value of the seized drug in Lagos, according to him, is N80.8 million.”

The agency’s head of public affairs further stated that Giade had earlier attributed the recent successes recorded to good foreign collaboration and commitment to the drug war. “The discovery was made possible through exchange of intelligence with the United Kingdom, under the Operation West Bridge. This certainly signifies the end of the road to drug barons because we have similar understanding with other countries. We shall continue to detect and seize their drugs notwithstanding the mode of concealment,” Giade declared.

Mitchell assured that the case would be thoroughly investigated with a view to making more arrests.

The Acting NDLEA Airport Commander, Ahhaji Idris Bello, explained that the drug was industrially concealed in the handles of the garden shears and trowels.

He also revealed that the handles of the garden equipments were practically broken before the drug was discovered.

The two clearing and forwarding agents arrested are presently assisting NDLEA operatives in further investigation.

Similarly, a 56-year-old grandmother has been arrested by operatives of the NDLEA at the Lagos airport for inserting cocaine in her private parts.

She allegedly inserted 20 wraps in her private parts and ingested 65 wraps. In all, she concealed a total of 85 wraps of substances that tested positive for cocaine weighing 999 grammes.

The suspect, Abiola Khadijat, residing at Musa Adewokun Street, Ojota Lagos, was arrested on October 7, 2009, at about 9 pm. and was to travel to Atlanta, United States when she tested positive to drug ingestion during screening of passengers on Delta Airline flight.

Abiola, an international trader said she was indebted and decided to smuggle narcotics. “A man I met in a popular eatery introduced me into the drug trade. I attempted suicide several times but I was encouraged. I used to go to London to buy clothes and jewelleries since 2004, but I lost everything. I have three daughters; the eldest who is 21 is a single parent like me. Now I am old and cannot work anywhere, no help from anywhere and I got frustrated. They said they will pay me when I get to the US,” she stated. Godday Ugweogbu, 31 was also arrested on his way from Brazil on October 8, 2009, with 93 wraps of substances that tested positive for cocaine in his stomach. He was caught during the screening of passengers on a South Africa Airline flight. Godday is married with three children and resides at Shino Adeyemi Street, Ilogbo Lagos. He travelled to Brazil in 2008 in search of greener pastures but ended up smuggling illicit drugs.

He also explained his ordeal in the flight, “I excreted three wraps in the flight, but for fear of arrest I washed them and swallowed them again. I have financial problem. I was stranded in Brazil. I decided to smuggle the drugs because I was promised N2.5 million,” Godday stated. He hails from Orlu in Imo State.

SATANIC FACE
Cleric reveals personality of Satan
From JOE EFFIONG, Uyo

PoliticsLamentation As Inferno Razes Millions In Lagos. by jona2(op): 1:07am On Nov 17, 2009

Hey Nairalanders,

What as Nigerians turn themselves into all because of $$$$$? Mostly everywhere i went to, they always take things harder if i can't identify myself fully with my passport, thanks to God that am staying legally. They are always found around each street fighting and stabbing themselves due to one thing or the other. Most of them come to South Africa with 3months visa and when they see it's about to expire, they will look for a South Africa girl to deceive with money and ask her to lie that they are married, if she agrees, they will go to the home affairs to apply for extension of stay and once they got it, they will fight the girl and send her off. You won't believe that this crazy Igbo boys here in South Africa are into drugs and prostitution. They ask South African girls out and those fool will accept hoping they want them as girl friend or wife, and after a while they introduce them into this stupid business of drug and prostitution. I actually met a white girl a while ago, she was scared of talking to me because the so call Nigeria boss of her will be mad at her if she is talking to a guy when she was suppose to be making money. They find it hard to get out of it even  though they are willingly to, only God knows where they get those charms from.

Most of this guys are Igbo boys, they have spoilt the reputation of Nigerians here, i think that was the reason why South Africans where killing Nigerians back then. They were turning their girls to prostitute and using them for drugs and other illegal business.

What have you people have to say about this? lipsrsealed
