Police in Katsina have arrested a 20-year-old man named Jume Bello for reportedly raping his master’s wife and robbing other married women in the state’s Musawa Local Government Area.

According to the police spokesman, Superintendent Gambo Isah, Bello was arrested on May 31 after three women, all from Jikamshi Village in Musawa Local Government Area, reported to Musawa Division that the 20-year-old had criminally trespassed into their homes, attacked them with a knife, robbed them of their money, handset, and forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of them.

During investigation, the suspect confessed that one of the women was his master’s wife.

According to the 20-year-old, he committed the crime after his master sent him on an errand to get a water vendor for his wife, and then he returned later that evening and committed the crime.

Some women in Owo town, Ondo State, have gathered to perform some traditional rites to place curse on the gunmen that attacked St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo, on Sunday.
On Sunday, gunmen had invaded the church when service was ongoing and opened fire on the worshippers, leading to the death of several people. The report by Punch stated that about 40 people were killed in the attack.In the report which was made by BBC News Pidgin on Tuesday, the women said that they were invoking the traditional spirits to fight on their behalf, and bring the killers to justice.They said - "Our ancestors will answer our prayers, and those people will regret ever coming to Owo."
The attack on the church had drawn widespread condemnation from far and wide.
