The forgiveness angle was to be an aftermath ofr the assignment Jesus was sending them to do.

Were they meant to be moving everywhere dishing out forgiveness like a flier and telling every tom dick and harry that their sins are forgiven even when they were yet in sin?

Were they to see a robber and say hey i know you are still robbing but your sins are forgiven...Or a fornicator and say hey i know you are going into that house to sleep with that woman or man but your sins are forgiven?

the easiest way to know an Agnostic Atheist position is an illogical position is to think about the Agnostic theist position lol yeah, think about it . See anyone can celebrate Christmas but christmas is related to being christian. The day was set aside for christians to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
The reason why you see a lot of white people who do not go to church celebrate Christmas is because it has become a cultural/traditional thing to them because European countries from the start was based on the foundation of Christianity.
