PoliticsRe: Twitter Ban: Nigerians Lose N150.46bn In Two Months - NetBlocks by jontim: 7:18am On Aug 06, 2021
Emmerlee:
I wasn't even sure if I should reply you or ignore.

Na real wa oh, see the way you are hyping N150b as if an entire country cannot do transactions worth 10x that amount in 2 months via social media. I'm not surprised though, it's the extent your mind can comprehend. In the last 2 months alone my wife and I have paid for goods worth over 150k on Instagram so why would it be so hard for 200million+ Nigerians to do same? I really don't understand your argument.

Let me break it down further, depending on what you are buying/paying for, the "average" price of items I have bought is around N20k to N25k. According to NetBlocks Nigerians lose N100 million from Twitter closure every hour, going by the payments I have made, if every Nigerian that buy on social media pay as much as I have that would equal 4000 sales every hour. How is this too much for a country of 200 million people? I am not even talking about the millions lost to Influencer marketing every day as it stands now.

Open your mind and do some calculations, it's too closed from what I see. 150 billion Naira is not too big for a country as big as Nigeria but I can see the sheer sound of that amount is blowing your mind. Everything is lies to you guys, do some calculations, no you won't. You are only interested in arguing against anything that doesn't suite your inferiority complex laden narratives.
See, no need for all those, just give them the website to check the fake figures and measures used:

https://netblocks.org/cost/

Make Una check am. Try other social media platform and see that the result is static. Then read the measurement used by scrolling down

Cnach:
Ur second paragraph is confusing but let me guess u are still talking of the authenticity and in that case, u were not getting something based on ur previous comment where u attributed the amount lost as effects on advertisement and promos on Twitter whereas the mother write up actually made it clear that such amount got lost due to the high expense of the technology needed to restrict Nigerians from using Twitter n not on business. No fighting, I like anybody wey correct me especially without provocations l guess u do same
Alright, I feel you.
So here is what I am saying:
https://netblocks.org/cost/

Click the website, put Nigeria as country, select any social media platform, put the number of days you want.
Write the result down.
Then change that social media platform, don't change anything else, see the result. Keep changing the platforms, then let's come back and talk about how authentic the site is.

Also, scroll down and read the measures they use in reaching the results they churn out.

It not comprehension issues, u didn't read it. Try n read the news so that u would know how that amount got lost..
Hello, you that read but didn't confirm the authenticity of the news, where has that led you huh?

Can you kindly go to the website (netblocks) and instead of twitter, put Facebook or any other option check if he figure isn't same. The website is static.
PoliticsRe: Twitter Ban: Nigerians Lose N150.46bn In Two Months - NetBlocks by jontim: 8:57am On Aug 05, 2021
This is fake news and I am quite disappointed that Punch carried it. The website is not working. It is static. If you put Facebook in the filter, it will give you the same figure. Put WhatsApp and the same figure will come out. It is quite bad that Nigerians get fed news that aren't authentic and they never even cross-check by themselves.

The metric used for the data is not even a good one. Some 2017-static data measurement.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Loses ₦2 Billion Daily To Twitter Ban - NetBlocks (Sahara Reporters) by jontim: 10:59am On Jun 07, 2021
linearity:
You didn’t understand the part ‘Nigeria is loosing about N2 billion daily due to the Twitter ban’.

There is nothing in the story that suggests that, that money was accruing to Twitter.

Twitter is mainly an advertisement platform, Nigerians and Nigeria companies just like others go to Twitter to advertise so to reach a wider audience through Twitter.

These reaches, in turn generate business leads, markets and customers for these Nigeria businesses. to which they can sell goods and services to in order to earn money.

There are also many Nigerians Youths who are jobless but earn income through Twitter.

These two source of in flow of revenue to Nigeria is now lost as a result of the ban, that is what is been tagged as N2 billion above, but I doubt those values, but the bottomline remains that, it is Nigeria that will loss revenue as a result of this ban in comparison to Twitter.
The post is actually fake

PoliticsRestructure: Adaka Boro Avengers by jontim(op): 2:49am On Oct 06, 2017
Oneof the militant groups in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria, Adaka Boro Avengers (ABA) has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to, immediately, begin the process of restructuring the country, or they will be left with no other choice than to revert to militancy.

The group also accused the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum corporation (NNPC), Maikanti Baru of disrespecting the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu and also, appointing only northerners into the oil firm.

ABA warned that “Nigeria’s oil sector does not belong to the Fulani’s alone but to every citizen in this country.”

They demanded that Baru should tender an open apology to kachikwu and also, drop his appointees on the NNPC board, within two weeks, or the group would disrupt hostility at Bonny, Nembe and Forcasdos trunk lines.

A statement signed by ABA spokesman, General Edmos Ayayeibo, noted that the relative peace in the Niger Delta is still fragile.

“It as come to our notice that president Muhammadu Buhari, and his All Progressives Congress-led administration doesn’t care about the unity of Nigeria. We expected the number one citizen of this country to address the issues affecting every region of Nigeria on independence day, rather, he aggravated the relative peace in the various regions, especially in the Niger Delta.

“President Muhammadu Buhari speaks to the country as if we are in a military dictatorship. We voted for him not to blame PDP, but to do what he was promising the people of Nigeria during his campaign, tagged Change.

“All president Muhammadu Buhari’s subordinates and all his appointees are ruling the country as if we are in a military era…

“Nigeria’s oil sector doesn’t belong to the Fulani alone. It belongs to every citizen in this country. The Nigeria unity has broken and the centre can not hold again.

“To Buhari, restructure the country now or you will leave us with no choice. Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria, Long live Niger Delta.”

Monkey Pox In Nigeria:
Symptoms, Prevention & How You Can Catch It… Everything You Need To Know

A viral disease, monkeypox, has broken out in Yenagoa, Bayelsa capital with no fewer than 11 people under medical surveillance at a state hospital.

It was learnt that a medical doctor and 10 persons suspected to be infected with the monkeypox virus had been quarantined in an isolation centre at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital Okolobiri in Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state.

Outbreak Of Monkey Pox In Nigeria
NCDC Says at least 11 cases of the disease have been identified after an 11-year-old boy in the southern state of Bayelsa presented symptoms in September. A further 32 close contacts are being monitored in case they have caught the virus, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) said on Thursday.

What Is Monkey Pox
Monkeypox is a viral zoonosis—a disease that is primarily transmitted from animals to humans—that was first identified in humans in 1970 in the Democratic Republic of Congo, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

The virus causes symptoms similar to smallpox, but is far less severe than the latter virus, which was eradicated in 1980. Monkeypox occurs primarily in parts of West and Central Africa, and is considered to be endemic in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

How You Can Catch Monkey Pox In Nigeria
Monkeypox is transmitted to humans not only through monkeys, but other animals too. Rodents—including squirrels and Gambian giant rats—are thought to be the main reservoir of the virus, and people can catch the disease by coming into contact with the bodily fluids of infected animals. Eating undercooked meat from infected animals is also a possible risk factor in transmission.

The virus can also be passed between humans through close physical contact, particularly with secretions from the lesions developed by infected persons. Monkeypox can be passed on from mother to child via the placenta.

Symptoms Of Monkey Pox?
In the first five days after being infected with monkeypox, patients can experience fever, severe headaches, swelling of the lymph nodes, back and muscle pain, and a severe lack of energy. After the fever sets in, sufferers usually develop a distinctive, bumpy rash—similar to but milder than that caused by smallpox—which particularly affects the face, palms of the hands and soles of the feet, but can also appear on the inside of the mouth and on eyeballs and Instruments. The bumps can evolve into fluid-filled blisters and can take three weeks to clear up completely.

Monkey Pox Cure & Prevention
While there is no vaccine for monkeypox—although smallpox vaccines have proved to be effective in preventing the disease—the virus is not usually fatal if patients receive the required treatment and rest. Previous outbreaks have had maximum case fatalities of 10 percent, with most deaths among young children.

NafeesaAA:
Ongoing Construction of Kano Economic City by Kano State Government in Collaboration with the Brain & Hammers Company at Dangwauro Town, Along Zaria Road
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Kano ECONOMIC CITY is a megaproject that will help diversify Kano economy by bringing direct foreign and domestic investments. The city also will help create up to one million jobs. When it's completed, KEC will be larger than Wuse and Asokoro combined.

The city is divided into 5 main components: Industrial Zone, Residential Areas, River Resort, Educational Zone, and a Central Business District (CBD) which includes the Financial Island.

The industrial zone is estimated to cover 63 km². The 1,400 hectares of land will be dedicated to industrial and light manufacturing facilities—identified as key growth drivers for the Kano economy—and can now host 2,700 industrial tenants

The residential area is planned to include 260,000 apartments and 56,000 villas. It will be divided into smaller residential, commercial, and recreational areas. Parks and green spaces will be used extensively throughout the residential area. The area is estimated to be home for around half a million residents, and another ten thousand tourists. Each district would feature its own public amenities, such as mosques, shops and recreational venues.

The Educational Zone is a part of plan to bring the Kano capabilities and aspirations in technology to globally competitive levels.
The Educational Zone is planned to consist of multi-university campus flanked by two Research & Development parks. The multi-university campus is designed to accommodate 18,000 students, and a 7,500 faculty and staff members.

The central business district (CBD) is planned to offer 3.8 km² of office space, hotels and mixed-use commercial space. The Financial Island, within the CBD, has now been doubled in area to cover 14 hectares (35 ac) of land, which will be the largest regional financial nerve center for the world’s leading banks, investment houses and insurance groups.
After all the plan, no skyscraper.... These stuffs matter and change our environment. It leads to tourism and exposes us....

WORLDPEACE:
Why You Should Not Be Caught Up In Intertribal E-fights

Been on this forum for a minute and I see the inter-tribal fights never end. I think it is really retarded and I hope I can appeal to your common sense. Here are a few reasons if you care about upgrading your intelligence.
1. E-tribalists are cowards.
Faceless forums help people become anything they want to be. Some people think they can become supermen of their tribes, combing every nook and cranny of the internet, defending their tribes and attacking others. No sane person in real life goes about attacking other people 24/7 without ever caring what people think of them. Even an insane person would have to work really hard at it. We might attack others in moments of careless insensitivity that can be chalked down to temporary insanity, but no one is temporarily insane all the time.
So if you fight people of other tribes here all day but keep your mouth shut in the streets, you are just a coward. Don’t be a coward masquerading as an insane person. Cowardice is not an admirable quality.

2. Many E-tribalists are minors.
By this I mean many nairaland tribalists have not yet reached the legal age of maturity which is 18. Unfortunately, the forums membership rules does not include being an adult before you can comment on topics. So by law many of the guys fighting here are not yet fully responsible for their actions. Being able to read and write is all you need to be here, and you don’t even need to be proficient at it. Once you can string together a few social media abbreviations you are good to go.
A young person’s views on things changes very fast. Seven years from now, they probably wouldn’t believe half of the things they believe right now. That also includes the way they feel about other peoples. So before you start getting irate and loading your virtual clip at a minor, remember that.

3. You don’t want to be a weak and sentimental person
The war you are fighting is as old as man and will never be won. You are never going to silence everybody who feels some type of way about you. You can’t prove a point to everyone who thinks they are better than you just by virtue of belonging to a particular tribe.
If someone says something derogatory about your people and you dwell on it you are just going to want to get even. Instead of that, just look at it as a chance to prove to yourself that you have self-control.

4. It’s not that important
Really, it is not. All that noise you’re making, the Fagani people of the Solomon Islands don’t know about it. I had to use google to know the Fagani people exist. They don’t know about how annoying that tribe that occupies the territory not far from yours is. You don’t know about the Fagani people and their enemies either. They know that they are not the only humans on this earth though. That’s all that counts. We are all humans and we are related. In two thousand years, all Nigerian tribes may not exist anymore, but their genes will continue. That’s what’s important

That’s it for now. You can add yours.
This should actually make FP... Seun, consider this please.

Oh! I thought as long as he is a member and attends Catholic church, he can. Cos southern Muslim are allowed to pray and attend friday jumat in the same mosque. But can't lead prayer.
Does Oyahkilome attend Catholic church?
Who needs brain now? I or U?
Just look at.it this way, if I a cathcist (hope I got the spelling right) or a mass server in the Catholic church, even if I am in the northern part, Cameroon or Togo, I am.allowed to still server mass especially if they need extra help in serving mass, etc.
My point is this, even as a scholar , I am allowed to attend the same mosque with them, pray and observe jumat. But whenever their alfa or what it is called is unavoidably absent, I can't lead prayer. They would rather a little boy from makaranta leads I in prayer, than I , a southern scholar, leading them in prayer.
There is this common name they call southern Muslim perhaps when I remember , I will let you know. The name is akin to second class muslim. Or not so pure muslim. Now that's my point.
Southern muslims/scholars who have ever lived in the northern for a period not less than 6months should attest to this fact.
Hmm
Firstly, the brain I am putting is not saying: have brain. It is just a normal thing I put in my posts.

Secondly, I get your point, but I am illustrating to you that what you call division in their religion, has it own version In our own too. I think the South western Muslims are seen as the moderate or flexible ones, while those in the north are the extremists (not terrorist extremist oo).

Well, all be it, thank God for protecting the individual's life, but he is not just in the position to criticise a religion because of his experience. There are Muslims that are wow, and some are wowo in their behaviour.
