Christianity EtcRe: Pay Your Tithe Or Save A Relative's Life? by joomiegal(f): 8:51am On Jun 23, 2008
I read thoroughly without comments the other thread about tithing and debts. I believe in tithing and honestly think Christians should pay it without asking questions or checking how the pastor or church council is spending it but one person wrote that tithing is not about the money but about obedience to God and this made me to ask :

You've paid your monthly bills, all is taken care of and the remaining change is for your tithe when a relation calls from home asking for the equivalent of your tithe to save her father or mothers life. Do you apply the obedience rule and ignore her or do you give her the money to save the life and disobey God?

Please i would really love you to get a reply from you in response to this question: was the above quote your Original post, word for word?? becos i pride myself on having a really, really good memory and i do not remember you saying anything about the said relative's mother's life being on the line. you just said he was in need. i may be wrong, but i doubt it. please reply, becos im sooo getting sick of people's posts being 'doctored' by the moderators. I want to confirm from you b4 i make further comments. Please reply.

ayomifull:
Word

And i will share my testimony one of the many pastor Adeboye is not even aware of.

I have always wished to have a set of 2 boys the very first time i will give birth, after my wedding i planned seeing a gyna who could medically help to make this happen but then i decided to change my mind and take it to God in prayer. I wrote a letter which i addressed and was to post to Pastor Adeboye i still had the letter in my bag when one night i had a dream where i saw pastor Adeboye (for the first time and the only time up till now), i saw him and his wife in that dream and i told him i desire to have a set of male twins and asked him to pray for me so it will come to pass. I knelt down and he simply told me that they (himself and his wife) joins their faith with mine and that i would have it just as i desired.

I decided not to post the letter to him and held on to his word in that dream and from then i told everyone who cared to listen i was going to start with a set of male twins (i was not even pregnant then) and lo and behold to the glory of God i got pregnant soon after and after 8 months and few days I WAS DELIVERED OF TWO HEALTHY BOYS.

Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion but as for me and my household we do and will always believe in the ability of God to do anything even the impossible or WHY IS HE GOD if he can only do the natural things?
ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLRRRIGHT!!!!!!!!! I am loving this!!! More testimonies please!! In the name of Jesus, i tap into what God did for you, he'll do the same for me, i want twin boys too, and i know that my wish will be granted like yours was, in Jesus name, amen!!

The holy scriptures says in Psalm 14:1 "the fool hath saith in his heart that there's no God, "  If you doubt any of these miracles then sorry for you. But I pray that the greatest miracle will happen to you by coming in contact with the saving Christ. Only then will you realize how true these things can be. I say this because I am a living testimony of God's divine power of miracle to His children. God delivered me from the dreaded terminal disease: kidney failure. He not only kept me alive for close to eight years before my transplant, He also provided the close to about 7 million naira for this to be carried out in Far away Pakistan. Also note that I come from a  very humble background where even 100,000 naira is like 100 million naira. So change that thinking of yours. I am also sure you're in need of a miracle and probably because it hasn't come you're doubting. Bro. GOD IS INDEED REAL AND HE IS UNFATHOMABLE.

Laura B:
Hello Friends, Please be careful when it comes to men of God, even if you don't believe, just keep quiet. God is not a man, he can do all things, even things so unimaginable. is only our faith that determines what God will do for us, because he said that if you have faith in him without any atom of doubt and you say to a mountain be thou removed, it will be removed.

Have you imagined how Jesus turned water into wine, raised the dead, die and resurrected, and he said also greater works shall we do than him. so why doubt God. I believe that any thing can happen to me as long as I believe God for it. Look at Abraham and Sarah, at 100 and 90 repectively they gave birth, I mean what proof do you wanthuh?

My sisters and brothers in Christ, lets not worry over these men of God because is only God that knows they that are his. Concerning GO with OBJ, Jesus dined with the sinners because he said he came for the sinners. And also , with God anything can happen. Watch out and see, who knows, OBJ making heaven and you are there judging him. To whom he will have mercy, he will.I rest my case.
And in MY opinion, the above post by Laura B says it all. Nairalanders, no matter wot, dont abuse men of God. it is very, very risky. Even if you feel the man in question is not operating with true annointing, or has turned from God and is doin his own thing, just be quiet, and leave him to God. Why do you think David refused to kill Saul, saying he could not put his hands against the Lord's annointed? Saul was a man God had rejected, but it was still not David's place to speak ill of him, much less kill him.

Im glad jydeboy believes in God and the Holy spirit. But Im sure he does not want to offend same God and the Holy spirit in case he's wrong, innit?
I feel its ok to ask for proof of wot you feel you dont understand, (wot if it was a muslim asking, wanting to know more about xtianity?) but there are better ways of doing it. Talking about jydeboy's said bad experiences with some redeemed pastors, Pastor Adeboye cannot be held responsible for the behaviour of one pastor or the other in such a huge church. If a catholic priest is sleeping with a lady in the church, when he's suposed to be celibate, does that mean the pope is a demon? Of course not. Even the bible predicts wolves masquerading as sheep. we are in the end times.
Please, people, let us be careful.

Maybe nairalanders who got healing and other miracles can stand up and share their testimonies,

I have never in my life heard that a man can have an effect on a woman by the way he dresses or doesn't dress. Women normally would say that the naked male body is unattractive with all the hair and bulging parts. but I case it is reliving to know that some women are affected by the male body.

www.myAfriplace.com
well, believe it. But we are not talking about a naked male body, as in naked . we are talkin bout a semi-naked body, which i think (hey, correct me anyone, if im wrong) has much more of an effect than a naked body. If i see a guy naked (holy moly!! shocked) my sure-fire reaction will be to bolt!! grin. look? not blinking likely!! thats too much assault on the senses. but now, if he's ripped and topless and just in jeans, chances are that i'll say "my eyes shall not behold iniquity" and still be guilty of scoping from under my lashes, lol! tongue u get the picture. so thats why were saying, cover up tongue

@ Pastor AIO and Sweetiemi,
yes apparently. but if there are bad vibes, it sure isnt coming from me. go the the thread in this religious section section that says "some of Pastor Adeboye's testimonies".  You will see the filth spewing from this guy's mouth.
yes, i do agree that winnteam blew his top first, but you can read the filth this jyde person wrote. and you will see my final reply/reaction. Apparently Mukina has seen fit to lock the thread up, im sure to avoid comments like jyde's.   you will see my final reply/reaction to their posts, the entire thing amused more than angered me becos the retaliation was soo childish!! He has promised not to talk to me, i should be impressed? cheesy good riddance; i would rather not talk to someone who is so venomous with words! Every one is prone to anger, even if huxley and i dissed each other yesterday, i still respect him becos 90% of the time even tho his posts are at loggerheads with a lot of pple, he still tries to  act like a gentleman( huxley, make ur head no swell o). if he flares up 1ce in a while its allowed. But wishing someone's children childless??!! come on!!
If i called him a fool, i did it on the verse that says "the fool has said in his heart, there is no God".   I do not aplologise for quoting my bilbe.

@ Jydeboy
no-one is asking you not to air your views. u can do them without slinging the kind of curses you did to AIO. you were vexed (altho for the life of me, i cannot see wot he sed to provoke such a reaction from you) does not mean you should wish his children fatherless. haba!!  Obviously, you still don not feel you owe the man an apology. anyways, by their posts you shall know them.

Having seen your other posts I'm not surprised by this. Why are you confusing yourself? It's a simple thing if you really want to be born again. It means you repent of your sins, turn away from them, accept Jesus Christ's sacrifice for your sins, accept Him as the LORD and saviour of your life and promise Him you'll never go back into your sins. If you did this sincerely in faith, and not continue to confuse yourself and others, you'll experience something difference in your life. You'll experience salvation. It is this experience that Jesus calls being born again. Good luck

Christianity EtcRe: Must We Forgive And Forget by joomiegal(f): 9:07am On Jun 19, 2008
This forgive & forget issue sef undecided. Its one that has been raised many times in my church.
Well, me ive come to the conclusion that
1. I will forgive, but i cannot develop amnesia overnight over an issue
2. I dont think the "forget" clause is in the Bible with regards to us, (pls correct me if im wrong, anyone). Its God that doesnt ever remeber our sins.
3. I think the "forget" doesnt mean amnesia, it means TREATING THE OFFENDER AS NOT GUILTY, not dwelling on the issue, continuing the relationship as if the person never offended you (sometimes that mite be difficult, u might wanna ask for Grace to do that).
4. One sure-fire way of knowing that you've truly forgiven someone is that even when you recall that this person once hurt you, you wont be able to remember the details. After a while all you may remember is that 'this person and myself once quarelled', but you may not even remember what u quarelled over.(thats wot i think the "forgetting" is all bout, but i dont think that happens overnight anyways.
Christianity EtcRe: Can You Suspend Tithing To Pay Off Your Debts? by joomiegal(f): 4:09pm On Jun 18, 2008
In the frist instance tithing is not required of you by God as a christian. This topic as been exhaustively discussed in a similar thread i suggest you read it. It is titled "the truth your pastor would not tell you about tithes" Check it out via the link below
the above quote was made by kunleOshob.
@ KunleOshob,
so becos it has been "exhaustively discussed in a thread", and your conclusion was that God does not require it, he should take it as Gospel?

Na wa o!
Christianity EtcRe: First Fruit Offering by joomiegal(f): 3:17pm On Jun 18, 2008
well, my 2 cents: im sure a lot of pple will start posting replies, including those who condemn tithes. lemme digress a bit, whether pple like it or not, tithe-paying still stands, whether the pastor is a money-grubbing charlatan or not. Im paying to God, not him. i leave God to deal with him- if he messes with it, na im own palava be dat. when my mom's name mysteriously disappeared from civil service payroll, she was able to challenge God with Malachi 3:10, she doesnt joke with tithes. And GIRRL, you needed to have seen the way things started JUMPING after that. the whole bureaucratic process was skipped, with top ministry officials falling over themselves to rectify it-even she was amazed!

Now to your question. i never really thot about the first offering thing until recently, when i read someone's testimony. see Exodus 34:26, and Deut 26. For modern day christians (we mostly work, we dont raise cattle or plant crops). Your first fruit offering is your first salary in a new job, and also your first salary for the year.

Hear my own Testimony: I did it for the first time when i got a new job. becos i'd bin unemployed 4 a while-i had virtually no savings, at first it was like 'how am i going to cope for the next 30 days?" im a girl, i gotta make my hair, buy this, buy that (u know wot female maintenance is like, lol!), not to mention lunch money and t-fare!

I squashed all those thots when i remembered that even if i gave it to God, He still reserved the right to accept or reject it! remember cain and Abel?
You know wot? that month, i was more than comfortable throughout that month- people were giving me money for no reason at all! after someone gives and its nearly fininshed, ANOTHER person would give or send me money. I was as happy as a clam!! in fact, one time, i was so thrilled and amazed that i locked myself in my office and danced to Him for almost an hour!!
I was so thrilled and thankful!!
If ure thinking of doin it, pls dont let the skeptics dissuade you- im yet to meet a man who gave wholeheartedly to God and lost out.
