BUSH MAN: make a change? were would we start? from the the crooked politicians at the top? or the average nigerians reaping each other off or the poorest nigerians who would do any thing to survive? or the kidnapers, what about the police who are killing innocent nigerians and nothing happens, oh! i forgot to mention the boko haramsall of these people are product of a family. If the parent have done there bit then the society would be a better place. |
BUSH MAN: nigeria is a big mistake, the british should have stayed a bit longer in nigeria and, continue ruling nigeria for another 50 years before independenceI beg to disagree dude. Let us be positive and make the desired change in our immediate environment. |
Reading through the comment of Nigerians, am almost moved to tears. Let me quickly point out that most people re talking from personal experience. As much as I agree that we ve enjoyed some benefit from this country but our level of development still leaves much to be desired. Let me share my personal experience: Just some month back I was looking for an IT placement as part of the requirement for the award of bsc in engr., I combed every nook and cranny of Lagos all to no avail. The scheme is supposed to last for six month. I ended up spending 2 month to search for placement. Through the period my level of patriotism for my dear country dropped. Now at the tail end of my program, I still nurse that fear almost everyday of what I will face out there after NYSC despite my high CGPA and relevant skill in my discipline. God bless Nigeria though. |
will OAU ever know peace? who is the first professor in Nigeria? who killed dele giwa? when will Ibb be prosecuted for all his atrocities? |

like someone pointed out; 'break' the journey. Lagos to Akure then Akure to Abuja. Sitting in a car for 10 hrs is horrible not to talk of driving. Had the xperience last month but regretted I did. |
At a place like OAU, you learn about extreme efficiency. It is not enough to b brilliant, u ve to be extremely smart and strong. Struggling to get a sit at an overcrowded lecture theatre, running from one lecture room to another, staying in an overcrowded hostel etc. can make a brilliant std look like a dumbass. Used to think I was very smart in mathematics until I did layeni's MTH201 and MTH202 scoring 46% n 51% respectively. I will b graduating this year. I am proud to b a std of this great institution. God bless OAU. |
Wonders shall never end. Where re we going in this country? I am sure there will b many of such cases in our hospital. The people that interviewed and/or recommended him should be tried to ascertain their complicity and if found guilty should be jailed. |
The Cross River State Police Command has arrested a fake medical doctor, who worked with the name, Dr. Collins Okafor, at the General Hospital in Calabar, the state capital. The suspect, whose real name is Mr. Simeon Kejohu (34), was said to have used the certificate of a medical practitioner to secure employment with the Cross River State Ministry of Health and worked in the hospital for one and half years before his true identity was discovered. A source at the hospital, who is a senior health personnel, said the suspect’s identity became suspicious when all the medical doctors in the hospital were compulsorily made to register online as directed by the Medical Advisory Council. She said, “Medical doctors were recently requested to register online and as one of the doctors in the hospital, Dr. Collins Okafor, had no choice but to register. When he did, they found out that the certificate he presented was conflicting with that of another medical doctor from Abia State. “On further interrogation, it was discovered that he (the suspect) is a health technologist, who impersonated a medical doctor. That was how the police were invited to take over the case.” Corroborating the position of the source, the Officer-in-Charge of the Cross River State Intelligence Bureau, Mr. Habu Sani, said, “We got the information that there was a fake medical doctor in the hospital and commenced investigation immediately. When we went to his office, there were no incriminating documents but by the time we searched his house, we discovered some documents which clearly explained how he was able to carry out the assignment through forgery. “We found in his house the document of one Dr. Collins Okafor, we now made contacts with the Medical Advisory Council in Abuja and they told us that two people had registered bearing the same name and therefore advised us to hold the person we had picked.” Sani, a Chief Superintendent of Police, said prior to working at the General Hospital in Calabar, Kejohu confessed that he had worked in a private hospital in Abuja where he established a contact with a doctor who assisted him in securing employment with the Cross River State Ministry of Health as an indigene of the state. He added that a team from the Medical Advisory Council in Abuja had come to Calabar to give useful statement, adding that enough proof had been established against the suspect. The suspect is from Obudu in Obanliku Local Government Area of the state. Sani further explained, “The other aspect we are still trying to verify is whether the real Dr. Collins Okafor is still alive or dead. We are also going to investigate how government was able to employ someone without the knowledge of how to manage people’s lives. “He worked as a medical doctor from October 1, 2010 to January 2012. We have called the team leader of the Residency Committee that interviewed him; we are still compiling their records to see who recommended him for employment. “This issue is serious because it is something that affects human lives. We will go through the investigation and point out where all the lapses are to the government because we do not know how many of such people will be in government employ.” Speaking with Metro, Kejohu, who was looking sober, said his friend (Dr. Collins Okafor) gave him the certificate in the presence of his parents (Collins’) before he died four years ago. He said, “Before Dr. Collins Okafor died, he called me by his sick bed as his best friend and said he would give me his certificate, which he did in the presence of his family. I studied at the School of Health Technology in Benue State. I have worked for over one year at the General Hospital in Calabar but never handled any surgery.” The source said before Kejohu was nabbed, some medical personnel in the hospital had doubted his credibility because of his inability to carry out some critical functions expected of a doctor. The source added that the fake doctor had on a number of times given wrong prescriptions to patients, adding that his prescriptions had been faulted by other medical doctors and nurses at different times. “The worst is that he had always evaded anything that has to do with surgery over the time. Recently, a woman with ectopic pregnancy lost her life because the suspect was not competent to handle her situation and he also did not inform his other colleagues until the woman died,” she said. |

This battle is beyond GEJ. I stumbled on this piece: http://www.republicreport.com/bombshell-revelation-linking-ibb-to-mko-abiola-abachas-death%E2%80%94reports/ on the internet today. The prediction of the author is what we re seeing today. A must read for anyone who want to understand the root cause of what we are witnessing today. The earlier we start preparing for revolution the better. mowetemi. |

Obafemi Awolowo University has been ranked second in research-oriented universities in Africa. In his reaction to the ranking by the SCimago Institutions Ranking World Reports for 2011 released by SCimago Laboratory in Spain, the Vice-Chancellor of OAU, Prof. Bamitale Omole, said it would further strengthen the commitment of his administration to deepen academic research in the university. Although delighted, the Vice-Chancellor appealed to the Federal Government to increase the funding of research activities in universities in the country. This, he noted, became necessary because investment in research development in universities would enhance the nation’s development. source: http://www.scimagoir.com/pdf/sir_2011_world_report.pdf |

slap1:E bi like say we dey the same boat. My gfrd graduated this year while I ll be graduating nxt year. She don dey complain oooooooo. Wetin we go do? |
I attended the school between 1997-2003 and I can categorically say that the school was then an eyesore. Thanks to the effort of BRF, there has been major infrastructural face lift in the last few years. I am sure the old boys association have been putting a lot of pressure on BRF. My question is what happens to other public schools worst than BFHS? |
What else do u expect from a state that prides itself as the 'Fountain of Knowledge'. Good one prof. Awa Ekiti ati gba omi nira. |

I am currently a student @ OAU. I was told about all this immorality that happened then. I think it was largely due to loose girls; that has nothing to do with being in an academic environment. thank God for the Post UTME, we now have largely serious students who really want to study but not flirt around motion ground and other dark places @ night. God bless OAU. Great IFe |
please anyone with useful info on how i can get the shortlist for odua investment scholarship. |

This guy i m sure is not a typical nigeria politician. He has set the pace let others follow. |
There is no controversy the best university in Nigeria and perhaps west Africa is Obafemi Awolowo University (Oba Awon University). Well, if I'm to consider other university they will be rank as follow; University of Benin University of Ibadan Ahmadu Bello University University of Lagos |
simple_4u:Dear Niyi, u stand a fair chance of been admitted. 'Flee' to ife to check ur admission status, so that u know the next line of action if ur name is not on the merit list. Though, there seems to be no correlation between ur p ume and ume score. I hope it's not what i'm thinking? ![]() Good luck. |
Can anyone do the favour of posting the school fee for both freshers and stalite. for the Admission List I can authoritatively tell u that the list is out but is neither on the school site nor on any link on the web, for now u can ONLY check ur Admission Status in ur various falculty.
