Myfavourite:You better plan for them, rather than crying for them. |
Haircombb:Please do you know which VO the request came from? Is your file in Winnipeg or Accra? Are you FSW or PNP? |
Ovywils:One PPR is not an indication. I saw the post too. We all hope they do. "Timeline: ITA: Nov. 2018 1st AOR: January 6, 2019 Class: FSW Denied: may 17, 2019 Saskatchewan EOI: Sept 26, 2019 Nomination: December 31, 2019 Accepted on EE profile: January 6, 2020 AOR : January 16, 2020 ADR : June 18, 2020 Remeds: June 1, 2021 PPR : January 21, 2020. Country: Nigeria VO: Accra God be praised!!!!!!" |
boco2126:Congratulations. What's your AOR and VO? |
Hennyhorlah2:Is your file also in Accra? How did you know? Is there any WhatsApp group for AVO? |
Exot:Amen. Thank you. |
I just discovered my file has been moved to Accra Visa Office from CIO Sydney through a response from Webform I raised about two weeks ago. I don't know if I should be crying or laughing because of AVO's reputation. I have been on Twitter reading the negative comments about them. Anyone here with an update on AVO? Why are they not processing application? When are they likely to start treating their backlog? I'm April 2021 AOR. This endless wait is tiring. |
onyexx:Wow. Congratulations. Finally, the waiting is over. Almost 2 years! God that did your own will do ours too. AOR 28th April 2021 and still waiting.... |
gbemmyusuf:What's you NOC please and your nominating province? |
GraciousWords:I totally agree with your interpretation and I think restriction was meant to achieve that and it was done on purpose. It's better to outsource the risk to another nation than bring it to their doorstep. I think current COPR holders should try and explore this option so we can see the validity or otherwise of it. Thank you for sharing this. |
GraciousWords:Someone in my WhatsApp group with AOR in June 2021 got PPR yesterday. COR is the US though. I know it's difficult to believe but it's real. We found it difficult to believe too but it's true. |
icehot:Yes, I'm PNP. It has changed to Passed. Thank you. |
So I got BIL yesterday after a long wait ..... but my medicals is still showing: "You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes." Please is this normal? AOR: April 28th 2021. |
I think there is a General (FSW) today. Someone on a thread in Kubeir with CRS 477 reported a message (to check his portal) from IRCC but then the portal is down and the person cannot log in to check the message. |
Dimple10:I think we need to find a coping mechanism as we don't know how long this would last. It's 5 months Post AOR for us and we found one. My wife and I, both in the ICT industry, have decided to start learning new skills in preparation for the Canadian job market. So we see this waiting period as a time to upskill and reskill. And I'm also looking at the possibility of changing to a new job since that has no impact on my PR processing. I won't pause my life because of Canada. I know it's hard but we just need to find a way to live our lives to the fullest whilst keeping a tab on updates. |
icehot:Exactly my response to someone defending the indefensible on a post-AOR WhatsApp group yesterday. "I guess you are used to taking sh*tty behavior. This is a symptom of an inferiority complex. They owe us an explanation despite the pandemic. What is wrong with some of us? Can't you see this is all wrong? Some of us are rendering services and we go beyond and above to make our clients happy. We plan for exigencies and even when we rarely can't meet deadlines we give feedbacks." "I can't deal with my wife constantly checking for updates on our application. She wakes up every morning wearing that look of "God when". It's 5 months post-AOR and no update, no message, no nothing ... That is after going through OINP for close to 5 months. It's putting a strain on my marriage. We can't do a long time planning and someones think I should applaud them and also give them excuses. Sorry to say, that is dumb." "You can say that again. We are not refugees. I have a good career here. IRCC needs to do better. The earlier we all agree and call this what it is, the better." I later have to apologize for my choice of words in the first two comments. But then it's high time we stopped defending this gross ineptitude. They surely can do better than this. |
Denerystormborn: ![]() Welcome to the waiting queue. I submitted 28th of April 2021, and haven't received too. That is the new trend oooo. |
oyd213:Just read regularly for pleasure. Read blogs; follow posts of excellent writers on Social Media; read books and take notes of new words and their usage; download documentaries (DW is my favorite) on Youtube and watch. Jay and Liz's videos are on Youtube for free and if you can afford their premium content go for it. You also need to practice writing. Write as much as you can. Join the IELTS Mooc group on Facebook and post your writings for people to help you review. It will help! Print out the writing booklet used by IELTS and practice writing with it. That way you know the number of words without counting. |
overlord77:Prayer can indeed help you ace your IELTS. Let me share my experience with you. My first IELTS was in Nov. 2019 and the result was a disaster. I had Listening:7 Reading:6 Writing:7.5 Speaking:8. I was very disappointed in the Listening and Reading as I felt I put in all my best in the preparation. In retrospect, I think I focused majorly on Writing. Our CRS score was 375 or so and we were pursuing PNPs. When the PNP-Saskatchewan route fell apart due to COVID, our relative lost his job, we then resolved I should retake the IELTS. I did the paper-based version of the exam in June 2020. So this time around I prepared for Listening and Reading with a different approach. I solved all the Cambridge IELTS Past Questions that I could lay my hands on. I remembered watching one of Liz's videos on Youtube and she said: "The Listening test is a test of plurals". You have to learn to listen for plurals if you want a band 8 and above. That statement stuck with me all through my preparation. I observed that it's very difficult for me to get a pluralized word whilst listening. So I constantly check the context of the word and try to add the 's'. That strategy didn't work all the time during the preparation as I missed some questions by adding 's'. On the day of the exam, I kept revising all the strategies I had written down whilst preparing but this 'plural' strategy was something I knew is not 100% certain. I kept praying that God should guide me through making the right decision because I knew the "test of plural" will surely come out. My wife and little children were also praying back at home. She kept telling me to revise my Listening as if they will repeat questions. . So after the Listening test, there was a question I wasn't sure either to append 's' on the compound word or not. I thought about it but was not convinced. So while doing the Reading, a phrase jumped at me with exactly the same construction as the Listening question I was doubting, and 's' was added to the word. Meanwhile, you are not supposed to flip to the Listening section answer sheet (they use the same answer sheet for both Listening and Reading) once you have started the Reading. And now that I'm sure I needed to add 's', what should I do? I ascertained no invigilator was watching me and I affixed the 's' to the word and continued my Reading section. The results came out as Listening:8, Reading:7.5, Writing:7.5, Speaking:7.5. If I had not done what I did, I'd not have gotten 8 in Listening and that results would have been useless. And that'd have ended my Canadian dream. I know it's Prayer that did that for me. Our CRS jumped to 446 immediately after that. Wife also did and had Listening:7, Reading:7, Writing:6.5, Speaking: 7. The CRS increased to 464 and we got picked up by Ontario in October last year and got the nomination in March this year. It's been a draining and stressful journey so far but at the centre of it for us is PRAYER. AOR: 28th April 2021. #prayerworks #foreverhoepful #Godisable |
buckbuz:Thank you. I hope it remains the same all through the process. I dread Accra with all the things I have been hearing about their operation. |
Lotusgoddess:Because the ones here are substandard right? We are our worst enemies. We deride and denigrate anything put up by our institutions as if the ones done by foreigners are always better. This same Canada cannot honor timelines and we still make excuses for them. AORs of 2019 are still languishing in pain. Imagine if it's a Nigeria institution. FYI, the same vaccines that Canada imported, are the same we have here. We even have a barcode on the vaccination card that can be read on the go for ease of authentication. |
I received this response after raising a Webform to submit my vaccination card. I want to know if my VO is Nova Scotia from this email. My AOR is 28th April 2021. Thank you.

Lahun:It's 69 days! We never see any movement oooo. Are you also in the same boat? |
musspuss:It seems better not to have done the medicals because of expiration. It could be a blessing in disguise. Let's hope things will turn in our favour. |
ednut1:You beat me to it. This is great news. |
Breaking News. Anyone with valid COPR, received after March 18th, is now allowed to come to Canada. https://www.cicnews.com/2021/06/approved-immigrants-coprs-can-travel-to-canada-as-of-june-21-0618431.html#gs.3vyeia |
MissMa01:I haven't done Biometrics. I've done medicals and I'm waiting for Medicals passed. It's used to be an average-a-month thing. This waiting is depressing. I don wait so teh, I don dey loose wait ..... What is Casper? |
Hello Seniors, It's 54 days after AOR and my status is still submitted. I'm PNP-Outland. Is this normal and is there anyone in a similar situation? |
Hello seniors. I just bought a Nissan Teana 2008. A Nigerian used, bought as a brand new, car. Is there anything I should worry about. I noticed it takes time to accelerate and the engine sound increases when the AC is one. Thanks. |
amaya21:Hello Amaya. Congratulations. Please can you give more details about this US route? Thanks so much. |
Please can someone here help with how I can send dollars through Western Union transfer. I need to pay a publication fee and I can't seem to figure out how to go about it. I need to pay $200. First I was given an Ecobank Rwanda account but Ecobank Nigeria says they can't do a transfer to the account. Next, they gave me a Western Union code to pay into but the banks I visited said they only receive Western Union transfers that they don't send out. I have the money in USD. Please someone help before these people think I don't want to pay. Thank you. |
amaya21:We (I'm the principal) are claiming 15 points for my wife's sibling. We have submitted all the required documents - sibling's PR Card, Citizen Certificate, DOB, Mortgage statement - to support our claims. Does she need to also include her DOB? And if yes, can she use the recent one from National Population Commission dated 2008 (meanwhile she was born in the 80s) or we can use the old one issued when she was born? Please seniors help me clarify this. I am submitting it today. Thank you all. |
PPRs don dey drop small small..hang in there.....
