tshtsh: What I do is each time i travel I get $4000 PTA from the bank but try to spend much less than the PTA allowance and save the difference. Been doing that since 2017. However its been tough getting PTA over the last 10 months. The PTA goes at the official rate, right? That's wise! My available option is to get someone to pay for me in Canada and I give them the Naira equivalent. But nobody wants Naira! Naira is like a stigma. Some of my friends there even have Naira they want to "dispose of". It is well with Naira. Emiefelle had better keep defending the Naira else wahala go dey if this rate continues. |

tshtsh: No issue storing your funds in naira but if you buy from the black market you'll lose. Find a cheaper way to get dollars. Emefiele will never float the naira. Please what cheaper way can one get dollars? I need to fund my DOM account to pay the application fee of $3,270. Time is running out and I'm getting frustrated already. I can't sleep at night. I have done medicals, PCC, and others. I have been following the debate of storing in USD or Naira and to be honest I don't know what to do. I have my POF in Naira - about 8.2 Million - for a family of 4. I have been thinking of converting some of it to USD and moving it to my DOM account. First, I'm worried about an explanation if I'm asked to provide an update on the account. On the other hand, I'm wary of the free fall of the Naira. What cheaper way can one get USD? The aboki way is obviously cut-throat. |

Hello seniors in the house,
Please I saw this question on Quora and can't find a place where a Birth Certificate should be uploaded to my eAPR application page.
Is there anything I am missing? Or should I just upload it as part of an optional document?

Abdomox: Please have you done or hear from someone that did this successfully? I did for my OINP (Ontario PNP) application and it came out positive. I am also using it for my electronic Application for Permanent Residence. I will be submitting my ITA application next week. Many people have used it and they got their PR. So, not cause for alarm |

Abdomox: Questions I find hard to answer.
If your wife is the primary applicant, can the husband's 25% Pension fund balance be used as PoF? You can use 25% of your spouse's PFA as PoF. Your spouse needs to do an affidavit that you have access to the fund. |

MissMa01: Mistakes happen and the accept/decline button are too close to each other so there’s that but I don’t think anyone will set out to jeopardize such an important process. Just be careful, is all It's too close. But I want to believe the mere clicking of the lick will not automatically change the status. There should be a warning and/or confirmation message. That's why I found it strange that people can make such costly mistakes. It is well. Thanks once again.

MissMa01: All the answers you have gotten are good but there’s one part you should be careful with. There have been reported cases of family members making payment and declining ITAs by mistake in the process.
If they can give you the card details, even better (that’s what I did ) , if not, do the share screen thingy aka team viewer or tell them to be careful.
All the best This your point of family members mistakenly declining ITA is getting me worried. Which kind of mistake is that. I'm submitting my eAPR next week after medicals and I am toeing the line of a family member paying on my behalf. I will have to stylishly inform him to be careful even though it may sound somehow. It's well. Thanks for pointing this out. |

Mmamaroon: Assuming ECA, IELTS and work ref, POF are probably covered by OINP submission.
Others: * PCC * Soft copy of passport photos * Scan of bio data passport, pages with visas and markings. * Children's BC * Marriage Certificate * Schedule 4 not sure of the name.....IMM0008E form for PNP guys that many people don't include because there is no placeholder for it, they usually get an ADR *** Double check and triple check NOC vs work ref letter. The others were also covered by OINP except for PCC and medicals. I am working on the PCC right now. Are the PCC and medical report part of what you will upload before you can submit your PR application or you can add them later after you submit them? |

Rhuth: Hi Congratulations Please how did you apply? Do they need a job offer or any ties to Canada and is there a range of CRS they select? What I see online is not so clear I sent you a mail You don't apply for Ontario PNP. You're selected from the express entry pool based on your CRS and NOC. The CRS rage is usually maximum 1 or 2 points off the most recent FSW cut-off and 10 points minimum below it. For example, if the last FSW draw is 468 then their range may likely be 458-467. Those within that range are selected. They target some selected NOCs. Not all NOC are priorities to them. https://www.ontario.ca/page/ontario-immigrant-nominee-program-oinphttps://www.ontario.ca/page/ontarios-express-entry-human-capital-priorities-streamRead the links up. That's all you need to understand it. |

Mmamaroon: Congrats! ITA for sure at the next PNP or FSW draw.
May be better to wait till ITA for medicals.
For other docs, pls check the SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION section on page 1, it has a link to the IRCC checklist for FSW EE applications.
All the best. Going through OINP means I have 90%, or so I believe, of the documentation ready. I'm just thinking about what else I can set in motion with the hope that ITA will come soon and that if done upfront it will be legal and acceptable. Thank you. |

If PNP draws aren't forthcoming you can postpone the medicals. Thanks for this. Knowing I can postpone it is soothing. I hope there will be a draw today. Any draw except CEC. Thank you. |

Wendyna: Like you rightly said, it's discretioal to the VO. I have a colleague who used almost 40% of his POF from RSA. It was approved. Same IBTC PFA. It's actually safe to always have a buffer and not rely entirely on the pension funds. How far with your application? Did you get the nomination? I am still waiting... |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by joselekas(m): 1:35pm On Feb 23, 2021 |
Mmamaroon: Truly several NL PPR stories have RSA as part of POF.
Perhaps it depends on the PFA statement that the applicant provides. Maybe some PFAs write the 4 month clause very boldly and others in fine print.....
May also depend on the VO's interpretation. One may think "why doesn't he have access to the funds now", another may think: "so long as he will have it when he resigns and is migrating".
Maybe it also depends on what proportion of the total POF, the RSA is. Perhaps 2% can be overlooked but not 20%.
#JustGuessing #ICouldBeWrong Thanks for your insight. My statement also has that clause and I think it's the new template of writing a balance statement by IBTC. It reads thus: " Any employee who disengages or is disengaged from employment before the age of 50 years and is unable to secure another employment within four months of such disengagement may make 25% withdrawal from his Retirement Savings Account in accordance to the provisions of Section 7 (2) and (3) of this Act" Someone actually warned me not to depend much on my RSA because of differing interpretations. So I just used it to shore up my POF and some sort of credence to my work profile/experience. |

Wendyna: Was your pension fund approved for OINP? Mine was rejected on Feb 5th. I had to give updated funds statement. The reviewing officer stated that funds needed to be accessible immediately. I know a couple of people use it for IRCC, not sure why OINP rejected it. My application moved to "Decision in Progress" on that same date, the 5th of February, and I didn't get ADR. What stage did you get this ADR? I don't understand why they would reject your RSA on that basis. I also know people have used this with IRCC. Aside from adding my spouse's RSA and mine, our POF is 7.7m for a family of 4 which is slightly above the required using a conversion rate of 302. So that may be the reason I am not getting ADR. How did you respond to the ADR? I wish you all the best. |

Yawndee: Hello everyone,
I just joined the thread.
I want to confirm if pension savings is still acceptable as part of POF. 25% of your pension saving is admissible as POF. I used that for my OINP application and I also intend to use it to respond for ITA. |

Igethope: So I just read some where that it’s not advisable to put Quebec as a your province of destination ,if you are under federal express entry program. Heard they rejected somebody’s application because of this. Thought I should share this here. I can't remember responding to this "Province of Choice" neither do I remember the province I chose. Is there a way to check this information? Though I am on the verge of receiving a nomination from Ontario - my application is in "Decision in Progress". Should I be worried? |

I'm getting ready to join in the application for the Canadian express entry.
Is it advisable to get WES evaluation before writing IELTS.
I'm still reading the tread. Thank you. Get your WES done first before IELTS. WES takes time and IELTS has 2 years of validity. |

OlakunmiSMELTD: God bless you @icehot, the truth is that my former work place employment letter is yet to be signed which might likely get to me on Friday and tomorrow is the 45 days, I have every other documents completed.
So am thinking of submitting those documents tomorrow, pay my 1500CAD and then update my profile once I get the documents on Friday.
What do you think ? How many years of continuous work do you have in your current place? I am guessing it's more than one year. The requirement I read states "at least one year of continuous paid full-time work experience" is required to be eligible for OINP ( https://www.ontario.ca/page/ontarios-express-entry-human-capital-priorities-stream). I will advise you don't pursue documentation with your previous work experience if you have the requirement with your current. |

Mamaroon: Ok, proceed with caution though.
Imagine what the outcome might be, should a VO check online for what obtains in Nigeria........marking POF as insufficient because all the resources online (NUPEMCO included) reflect 25% not 50%.
25% (TEMPORARY LOSS OF JOB): This is a benefit available for a contributor/RSA holder who is out of job (voluntary resigns or is disengaged) for a minimum of four (4) months and is below the retirement age of 50 years. The RSA holder may access an amount not exceeding 25% of RSA balance subject to National Pension Commission (PenCom)’s approval.
https://nupemco.com/wp-content/doc/BENEFIT%20APPLICATIONS%20AND%20REQMTS.pdf I am also considering using 25% of wife and I PFA for OINP Nomination. Please is this valid and how do I go about this? |
