You only refute an allegation if that allegation have substance, but when it doesn't, you ignore it. In politics, having facts and evidence goes a long to prove if someone is culpable of something or not.

Those saying he flew 1st class should have provided picture or evidence of him flying 1st class or sitting in 1st class, not just open their mouth and talk for the fun of it.
