Ishilove:Oh I loved it, he taught me how to draw. Lol. and showed me how easy it was also... Wonder what happened to him?... |
chuna1985:Oh sorry, lemme think in the right direction now. He should not only recover the stolen money carted away by IBB, but he should recover those stolen by Murtala, Ironssi and Gowon also, even Tafawa Balewa and Nnamdi Azikiwe should also follow right. This is truly thinking in the right direction. |
Those who have ears, let them hear!. Baba has spoken. Sai Buhari. |
Dollyak:Lol |
pDude:This dude could draw anything. Or so I believe, actually sent him some of my drawings then. |
pDude:That should be Princess!. |
fitzmayowa:On the contrary bro, I never said such, you merely assumed, besides, Abacha is long dead, God knows I'll love to see IBB behind bars!. And what do you mean by the embolden, kindly elucidate please. PROVACATEUR:Oh I would have loved to take my opinion, warp it round my erect d1ck on ram it into your vagina!. Its totally like your demented kind to post what you just posted here. You conniving cunt!!!. |
mrjangaweed:Come, have you eaten today? And I believe your father is the dog right? |
pDude:Please kindly look for "Pigeon Street". |
Ishilove:Hell Yeah!!!. Lionel the lord of the Thunder Cats. Trusted with the Eye of Thundera, embedded in The Sword of Omen. Kai! Memories. You remember The Thing? As in Thing ring, do your thing.... |
EroticAngelina:Kindly tell us your favorite. |
Icon4s:Wow!. My childhood was amazing. I remember these cartoons like yesterday. You should have added, The Centurions, Thundarr The Barbarian etc... |
bobbiekrantz:Incompetent stewpid asswipe!. I don't take corrections from shallow minded ignoramus like you and your kind. PDPiiiggg ![]() |
PROVACATEUR:I believe its because the era of IBB and Abacha were military regimes, looting is part of their decree!. |
That's just the money discovered missing. The ones not discovered will make a dead man say "What! And Nigeria still survive?". Things like this makes me remember Mariam Abacha's infamous comment, "no matter how poor we are we can never be as poor as Dangote". You just have to give it to our political elite!. They're the ones who really know how to steal and get away with it. |
mrjangaweed:Your mother is a fuuucking LovePeddler that's why she gave birth to a twisted incomprehensible nitwit like you!. ![]() |
bobbiekrantz:And I suppose you're marking WAEC that you offered your schmuck of a self to correct the blunders as seen and noted by your shallow minded self right?. You're just a plain massa damnata!!!. |
chuna1985: ![]() |
Mogidi:I believe changing clothes will rid Nigeria of poverty and terrorism right? Dude if you don't have anything meaningful to say I suggest you hold your fingers. ![]() |
midolian:The only thing that will please them is if everyone member of the APC drops dead!. They're such a bunch of sour losers, imagine, PMB lost to GEJ in 2011, he went to re strategize and came out smoking GEJ back to the shiiit hole he crawled out from. Instead of the PDP to start formulating a plan to gain power, they've resorted to wailing! They forget that those who wail are often given bread crumbs to feed so they'll keep mute from time to time. The PDP is finished, especially when they have a clueless individual as their captain. |
Mogidi:The ones that doesn reek of corruption and doesn't have corrupt individuals chairing them. SURE-P, YOUWIN comes to mind, or your brainless self have forgotten so soon?. |
Seun:A noble gesture brother. This is by far better than giving a dime to that ruse of a miss Nairaland contest. ![]() |
midolian:Can any good come out of Sodom and Gomorrah?. They will never give PMB praise, rather, they will heap it on that former president who waited for CBN to extend the BVN registration date before he went to register for his own. Mogidi:Any well meaning Nigerian should be sold to the transformation agenda devoid of massive corruption. |
timpaker:Yep!. Its Greece alright!. Nigeria can't get to that level because we operate a parallel economy. |
AllNaijaBlogger:LMAO. Timpaker OMA4U. |
AllNaijaBlogger:Orijin mixed with weed right? And left to ferment for 2 weeks. Marvelous!. |
AllNaijaBlogger:I believe you're high! Not from weed, but from paraga ![]() |
ANALYSIS OF THE POEM PLOT: The plot is centered around the three wonders of the ancient world as applied to modern day countries of the world, that were once super powers, who held the world spell bound with there astonishing edifice that stood the test of time, but these ancient wonders of the world in modern day, have fallen from their glory because of external and internal influences that bothers on the very nature of man. The poet personae used three ancient wonders of the world in the poem, that is, The Pyramid of Giza, The Hanging Gardens of Babylon and The Stature of Zeus to represent the following countries which these ancient wonders were built, that is Egypt, Iraq and Greece. The poet personae draws the readers attention to the undesirable state these countries are in, along with the many troubles plaguing these countries, from harsh economic conditions, to religious extremism/terrorism and the high handedness of dictators.... STRUCTURE OF THE POEM: The poem consist 22 lines of five stanzas, where the first and last stanzas are written in tercet, and stanzas two, three and four is written in prosaic form. The poem can be said to be a free verse poem with no particular rhyme scheme, expect for the flow used in the second, third and fourth stanzas with is written in prosaic form. The poem can be said to be poetry prose because it is written in this manner, based on the perception of the poet personae. Stanzas one and five as well as stanzas two, three and four bear testament to that. POETIC DEVICES. Simile: Used in stanzas 1 and 5, lines 2 and 3 and lines 21 and 22. "Wonders as ancient as the seven wonders". Metaphor: Used in the 3rd stanza, line 12 "Green men who grin at their pockets", meaning men who smile to the bank after looting and plundering the country. Repetition: Used in the first and last stanza of the poem, that is the stanzas written in tercets. Understatement: As seen in the third stanza of the poem, line 11, "deserts of dictators". Alliteration: As seen in the 3rd stanza, line 10 "shrouded by shrubs from tribes" and the 4th stanza, lines 14 and 15, "magnified by the magnificence of such edifice". Antonomasia: Used in the 2nd stanza, lines 7 and 7, "the cradle of civilization". Often use to refer to Egypt. Personification: Used in lines 7, stanza 2, "wearing the motto of homo homini lupus est". Diction: The vocabulary used by the poet personae is simple and easy for the reader to decipher. The poet made use of the word "wonders" to draw the readers attention to the pitiable state the three ancient wonders are in. Tone/Mood: The tone/mood used is that of pity and sorrow. THEME Sorrow Pity Disappointment. |
Behold I've seen wonders, Wonders as ancient As the Seven Wonders. I look upon the Pyramids and see a nation fallen from its glory, bathed in a religion as foreign as the use of hieroglyphs, wearing the motto of 'Homo Homini Lupus Est', and shunning everything that made it once, 'the cradle of civilization'. The Hanging Gardens have so much lost its beauty, shrouded by shrubs from tribes who allowed their minds to be heated by schism, overrun by deserts of dictators and replaced with green men who grin at their pockets even at the detriment of their own. I look upon The Statue of Zeus and no longer am I magnified by the magnificence of such edifice, but appalled to see such edifice seeking bail out from harsh economic conditions, thus, making it willing to sell its soul to a Union that is as dis united as the United Nations but feign united to unite lesser edifice, thus, making them her slave. Behold I've seen wonders, Wonders as ancient As the Seven Wonders. *Inspired by Langston Hughs 'The Negro Speaks Of Rivers'. |
