I see beneath the fashion worries, Buried in the colourful mask of beauty, As they look so crazily and perceptibly vain, Slinking and poising on a 6'inch heels, Uncomfortably comfortable... I just scream "girls!!!"

Mr know it all, the course they're championing, how has it affected the lives of people?. That's what I'm asking and please you should be smart enough to know that having aims and objectives is something every organization has, but the far reaching effect of the aims and objectives is what makes that organization stand out!.

So Mr I'm not ignorant, kindly give me statistics about how this has affected the lives of people, both locally and internationally.

And please learn to debate with facts and figures bro, not aims and objectives....

Funny how this people always tend to stereotype and out law smoking.

If you ask me, since smoking in public places is ban, drinking in public places should also be ban. The number of beer palour that spring up is alarming. Not everyone likes the smell of alcohol and besides, this beer palours always attracts the highest number of thugs and mischief makers. You will always see them shouting and screaming their lungs out after being heavily influenced by alcohol.

All the comments are wonderful in their ways.

Can you take this away from him?
He's a lone voice out of many. I will not be surprised if his voice is drowned by the time he gets into the NASS.

There are many there who are not people/Nigeria friendly, people whose aim is to collect and collect.

Anyway, I wish him the best. If truly he has passion for his people, that is something we will know as time goes by.

I honestly don't know the economic importance or even benefits this stuff has on the lives or Africans and Nigerians alike.

The last time something like this came up, people criticized it only for some miscreants here to come and give half baked reason and also give hypothetical economic importance that it will have on Nigerians and Africans alike. But alas, till today, what positive effect does It have in the lives of Nigerians?. Non!!!.

All of this is just waste and more waste, no wonder people all over Nigeria and even non Nigerians accused the GEJ led administration of not only being corrupt but also wasteful.

If it isn't about who has the highest vote then how would the winner be picked?
I only said its not a contest to determine their level of intelligence or whether they got brains like you said.
If it was that then an exam should be given to them then..

You can't compare Miss World(Agbani Darego) to this. That analogy doesn't cut the mustard. Missworld usually have appointed judges and its not a brainy thingy either. Agbani Darego can't solve Algebra or state Albert Einstein's theory of relativity to save her life . Instead, they look out for comportment, beauty of course, charisma and how you answer whatever question is thrown at you . But still it can't be compared to this(Miss NL). This is online and its about the way you solicit for votes and the amount of effort you are willing to put into campaigning that gives you the crown.

My point is..You win Miss Naira land by being a little bit pretty, a little bit smart and most importantly having a good campaign team..
The fun of it all is the campaigning and not the interviews and bla bla. I'm stunned most people still don't get it.
If it was about brains and intelligence then Missclasssy would be the only winning it year in year out cos I can't spot any worthy rival.

And why worry about the dude that bragged about whatever team he was is bound to win? ..The organisers have specifically stated that new accounts wouldn't be allowed to vote and if they do, it won't be counted.. So no lele
Firstly, if its as you said then why did the judges ask questions at the final stage?. Or didn't you experience the last one?. I did and there were questions. Infact what made the contestant I supported loose was because of the abysmal way she answered the questions given. Many monikers openly said so and condemned her for it, so what do you really mean bro?.

Secondly, beauty pageant is beauty pageant! What differentiate them is the organizing and the amount of publicity/sponsorship. Agbani did not win because she had the highest amount of votes did she? Nope she won because she scored highest in every area the judges were looking for!. And is Einstein theory of relativity the only question you can muster to come up with?.

I remember a certain Daily Time of Nigeria (DTN) Miss Nigeria where they asked a contestant to name two rivers in Nigeria and she openly said, River Benue..... Then she said No idea!. What say you to that?. There are basic things every Nigerian should know.

Thirdly, according to you miss whatever is the brainiest female moniker here, but that's according to you bro! You should learn that your opinion(s) is not an established fact!. So stop shoving it please.

My good man, even in NYSC there is also Miss NYSC and the winner is not judged by who has the highest amount of votes. Its that simple.

Just like I stated earlier, there are things every Nigerian should know, have you ever heard of a subject called Civic Education? Yes bro they teach it in both primary and secondary school. Try asking a female here which geo political zone Taraba state is? Or even ask them which geo political zone has the least number of states or the highest number of states or even which state in Nigeria has the highest number of local government and which state has the smallest, let's see how they will fare.

And in case you want to suggest they might use google, bro, they're some thing even google can't give you!.

Believe me when I tell you that, in the words of tuface idibia "I don tey for this game no be today".

PS: Lemme even check Missclassy's post and ascertain just how brainy she is for myself.

Abeg make we hear word joor! If people like this can come and make such useless statements without his kinsmen cautioning him. I wonder who now gave the rest of Nigeria the impetus to caution Asari when he was issuing threats here and there.

The Nigerian polity is now so loose and weakened that any nimcompoop another the name and guise of any organization can just come and make anyhow statements.

Or can you imagine the red indians saying they will secede from the U.S?.

All this senseless comments must stop and citizens should learn to caution any man who choses to open his mouth and ridicule his tribe/religion.

You won't understand till you walk in our shoes. Only past organisers and judges can relate completely to this issue.

Nairalanders would always accuse you of something/anything, even when they know it would earn them a ban, why not publish the evidence at the same time and serve the ban @ once?

Whatsoever the mod did, is the right thing to do. If you behave in a civil manner, not asslicking_ no mod would ban you. Then people would infer the mod is biased in your favour...nah, respect is reciprocal.
Firstly you speak as if a gun was placed to your head for you to become a judge in this contest.

Secondly yes Nairalanders will always say this and that. But you can also ignore them can't you?.

Thirdly you justly confirm what the mod did. Did the said moniker break any rule?. Last time I checked if anyone doesn't provide evidence or source to a particular post or thread isn't a crime and doesn't warrant a ban.

And madam, why and just why are you the only judge/organiser who is justifying the ban, the others simply ignore but you, you just keep going on and on and on and on and on... Frankly I might be prone to say "The Guilty Are Afraid". I believe you've read that book!.

I'm glad you remember the emboldened.

I'm just confused why people confuse being an Organizer/Judge of The Miss Nairaland Contest with being being a Moderator of this forum. If anybody gets banned on the any of the contest threads, its not my doing or any of the judges' so cut us some slack and mail the mods appropriately. We have a lot on our plate than all these unnecessary assertions and accusations.

We all of the time DO NOT have any hand in the banning of monikers except extremely necessary and in this case, Thesonofmark was unable to get us to make that move. I didn't even click on the report button.

Nice point @the rule suggestion. That's also something we're working on. Every username have the freedom right now but once voting starts, conditions for Invalidating of votes will be posted.

And about brains, we could have incorporated a test of their brains and intelligence but no matter who we invite to judge, there's a 99% chance that those judges would be accused of bias or incompetence or both. See what we're being labeled as before the contest, imagine what might happen when the table starts turning for and against the contestants. Lupey and Miracy won due to no factor other than the questions and answers in the finals so we're sticking to that. Strictly votes and then questions and answers in the finals. .

Thank you.
But you sure do know the last winner of this very contest won as a result of gathering the highest number of votes!. Even when she poorly answered the questions provided!

The one person who truly deserved that crown was Vivly!. Gurl gat brains. Among the five finalist she's the smartest by far!!!.

Anyway what's done is done. No need crying over spilled milk. I'll watch and observe and point out my observations modestly.

Thank you!.

And who told you Beauty Pageants is about who has largest brain or Intelligence quotient?
Is this ' Who wants to be a millionaire'?
That point is absolutely null and void.

and because some random bloke said whichever party he supports is bound to win doesn't automatically translate to him possessing multiple monikers.
That's paranoia speaking.
Its simply called "Braggadocio" and its a normalcy and the predominant theme in campaigns.
Manny Pacquiano bragged to the Media that he was gonna beat Money like a baby.does that mean he had bribed the judges before hand? .besides, did he eventually beat May?

People on the internet would fight and make a fuss out of practically everything, even fight with a gorilla in a phone Booth.. Smh
Oh so you're saying beauty pageant is about who has the largest votes? Tell me, Miss World, Miss Universe and Miss Nigerian or what have you, did the winners emerge as a result of who have the highest number of votes?, or is it because the winners emerged because they showed poise, elegance?. Or did Agbani win because she had the highest number of votes?.

You might say the bloke is bragging, but I tell you monikers have been created just for this contest. You might also not know that it doesn't cost a million Naira to open a moniker.

And just so you know, boxing is decided by the mount of points an individual gathers while playing to the rules of the game, not by who gather the highest number of votes!. So don't compare boxing to beauty pageant please!!!.

I know I am being profiled. One of the mods once told me that I am too opinionated. Juxtapose that with my recent ban. I still stand by my earlier stance though.

I just did my job as a whistleblower. The hypocrisy was becoming nauseating. Ofcourse those asslickers would try to engage me. Howelse do you expect them to score brownie points from their e-masters and e-mistresses?cheesy

I was told the same thing. But who cares. Everybody has mouth. Some choose to make a mack in this world with their mouths, others choose to boot lick and a$s kiss with it. "To each his own".

Perhaps you misunderstood him. If I remember correctly, you too was issued a ban in the last Miss Nairaland contest, reasons giving was that you insulted a mod. You can see that you and him are on the same page.

And just so you know. If you want to validate this contest and make it free and fair, and different from the others, then you shouldn't just make the contest "majority carry the vote". There should be reward for excellence and intelligence because bro let's face, many of this girls here are outrightly dumb. Whoever emerged miss Nairaland should not just be because the person has the biggest votes, It should be because the person has brains!!!.

Also I would even want you to state in categorically that any moniker that is created from Jan 1 to this very day isn't eligible to vote, why? Because we know many people have the habit of creating monikers just for this contest, even a moniker here said it openly that whoever he supports always wins!. You'll wonder who made him God or Lord Temple that he has such audacity to make such proclamation if not that he has many moniker at his disposal.

It will be nice to know his violated rules too. We are all aware in a competition such as this there will be controversies. Some people will question the process and how it is being runned. Everyone must not agree on the management and the conduct of the exercise, but silencing them is unacceptable, imperious and autocratic. There should be some tolerance and liberal approach to opposing voices.
Well I doubt it. Usually when you're issued a ban they state the moderator who issued that ban and the rule you broke.

Funny thing is the reason he gave for his ban was that he made a comment on this threadhuh. If that is his offense then we all should be issued ban.

The banning of TheSonOfMark is unjustifiable and should be reversed. Peoples opinion should not be silenced or gagged under any guise. This was same manner dark rebel was banned for questioning a certain supermod.

Too much authoritarianism in this forum and it's really not healthy for the long term survival of this platform. We're in a democracy and even as pedestrian as his allegations seems to be, silencing him isn't the right path to address his assertions. There is really no need to get emotional.
