Henry240: Poland
South Africa
Nigeria - Imported
Austria
You can see all of them, not even one is different. They are all built a certain way. That's what Nigeria also did. We didn't re-invent any wheel.
I watched French special forces conduct an assault landing with them in Mali and my jaw nearly broke. I immediately fell in love.
A C-130 dropped operators off in the middle of an abandoned airport and immediately flew out. The entire operation lasted just 3 minutes. Link to the video... That NAF Honker only has one gun port at the top of the vehicle, it would have been better if they have a second port. But though I love the way the guys both seat and stand on that rail.. I do see them around my area |

Henry240: This is the Al-thalab special forces vehicle used by the British SAS in Syria.
Like the Nigerian vehicle it is built on the land cruiser. Many special forces vehicles used by countries around the world are based on the Toyota Hilux or land cruiser.
I've also added that of France in the last picture. Okay...nice photos |

Odunayaw: 1) Its hypocritical to call the Super Tucano a trainer, you know its role even with a minute of Google
2) What do we need another type of Attack Helo for?
3) Hope its not what I am thinking you want to use the CH-47 for o
4) Anything sold by the US comes in a full package, there is no flyaway deal.
I expect another moniker to come between 5-10pages from this one to ask/opine the same thing 1) If you think that we should be consistent with our purchase, then don't you think more MI-35M would be more better?? 2) Shed more light on your No.3 cause I don't understand. |

bidexiii: You've asked a very good question and in a very mature way. First of all, the KA 52, Chinook and Bell AH1 cobra etc..... are also very good assets and we need them. But here comes the question what do we really need to change the time of these war, we can respond get every of these things you've mentioned, then when we call ORDER OF PRIORITY sets in.
The super tucano is not only an aircraft trainer, it can be used for ISR and border patrol missions and attack aircraft to support ground troops. And these aircraft can deliver varieties of munitions.
I think the problem is the huge price been splashed on the 12 aircrafts but considering what we will be getting from the entire package deal; it's not a waste at all !!! Some few pages back I have highlighted most of what we are getting if not all; the equipment, infrastructure & training etc.
The super tucano is really a game changer compared to the other assets you've mentioned. We really need them, it was specifically designed for COIN/Border patrol. Air power is critical to a successful counter terrorism campaign, the Indonesian airforce knew how these aircraft changed the dynamics of the war. Okay... thanks for the contribution |

Please soldiers and my fellow civilians on the thread, can someone just enlighten me more or their own opinion why they think the Nigerian Military head decided to use $600m for the acquisition of super tucanos trainer aircraft, when they can get this 1) Ka -52 Russian helicopter at unit cost of $16m which 10 of it will cost ($160m) and we will still have enough change for guns 2) Bell AH1 Cobra helicopter at unit cost of $11.3m 12 units of it will cost $135.6m.. they will still be balance for more upgrade 3 Chinook CH 47 helicopter at unit cost of $38.55m and 10 units will cost $385.5m... With this, Boko Haram won't be able to see their period .... Remember this Chinook helicopter can also serve as medium transport and also the KA 52. NOTE: This is my own opinion it's open for criticism. You can also modify it anybody can comment on it.

IPOB are terrorist. [/s] The only reason why I won't take this quarrel up with you is that I will derail the thread which I don't want to...but still I will allow you to say what you want to say and don't ever quote me again |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by joshingjosh(m): 12:31am On Oct 05, 2018 |
BabaOwen: [s]The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has revealed the main reason the federal government branded the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) a terrorist organization.
According to the Minister, the pro-Biafra group had to be labeled a terror group in order to halt its global funding and, by extension, its ‘future’.
Mohammed, who made this known in an article he wrote for Washington Times, appealed to Nigeria’s “international partners to do the same.”
He wrote, “Currently, streams of cash come from across the globe to swell the organization’s stockpile of weapons. Yet funding of terrorism is illegal in international law. Only with the group’s correct categorization will our international partners be able to halt the financing — and with it, IPOB’s future.
“Terrorism is often called the power of the weak. That IPOB indeed are. But if the last decade has taught us anything, it is how quickly the weak can become strong.
“The government reiterates its appeal to its international partners to proscribe the organization, and in doing so, starve it of the funds which gives it sustenance.
“Nigeria has just defeated one preventable terrorist insurgency. This one must not be given the chance to get a foothold.
“The threat posed by the organization may be low. IPOB commands little grass-root support in the South East (the region it calls Biafra). All South-East governors have collectively condemned IPOB’s calls for secession. And local traditional and religious leaders have weighed into the debate, restating that absolute integrity of Nigeria.
“Violence, much less terrorism, never solves grievance. And for that reason, the overwhelming majority of residents in the South-East reject IPOB. They know the ballot box offers the best mechanism for redress.
“In spite of this, the latent threat is high. Boko Haram similarly had little support in the North East in 2009. They didn’t need it. Armed with terror and buoyed by government inaction, they seized large swathes of land. Inertia in Abuja lubricated the group’s advance. But now due to this government’s actions, Boko Haram hold no local districts.
“This administration shall not make the same mistake as the last. We will take the rapid, precise and necessary action required to deal with IPOB now.
“The government recognizes in IPOB’s lust for destruction a trait shared with Boko Haram. It also appreciates a qualitative difference in the threat. Unlike Boko Haram — a regional insurgency — IPOB breeds insecurity across the whole nation. In their divisive and inciting rhetoric, they jeopardize the very social fabric that binds us.”
What truth are you talking about, the federal government of Nigeria said IPOB is a terrorist organization [/s] But Fulani herdsmen are peace lovers I guess??... Keep your news to yourself am not interested in it |
