Recounting all he has gone through since he walked down the aisle with the love of his life last week, UK's first gay muslim to get married, 24-year old Jahed Choudhury, has disclosed that threats he has received so far include an acid attack.

According to him, he has been receiving death threats on social media and in the street, since he married his boyfriend Sean Rogan last week.

 "The worst [messages] say 'the next time I see you in the streets, I'm going to throw acid in your face'.
"Even if I walk down the streets, I have people spitting on me and calling me pig - all the nasty stuff. I just keep walking."

Some of the comments posted on a video of the pair by BBC Midlands, says:

 “You Can’t Be A Gay Muslim, If You Are Than Your Not A Muslim.
“Islam Forbids This, I’m not saying they should Split up and Be Straight Which is the right thing to do, what I’m saying is they can’t be Muslim If they are Gay.”
Another added: "It's like eating meat and calling myself a vegetarian you are not Muslims."

Disclosing what they've done about the threats they've received while interviewed by BBC, the couple said they had not yet reported the incident to police as they are still considering whether to do so. However, Jahed further disclosed he had also received "amazing" support from his online followers, including people who said the couple had inspired them to come out.
"I've been brought up Muslim and the Koran mentions you cannot be gay and Muslim. But this is how I have chosen to live my life. I will never get rid of my faith."

Ashley Murrell, the lady who became a widow after her husband, Mikey, died after she banished him to the sofa for coming home late, only to discover few days later that he was working so many extra hours so he could take her to Prague for their anniversary on July 3, has revealed that she's now in a 'fake' relationship with her husband's brother for the sake of her kids.

Following their 3-months ultimatum issued to Igbos living in the North, Arewa youth group has written to United Nations demanding that Indigenous People of Nigeria, IPOB, and its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, be declared terrorists.

According to the statement released by the group on Thursday, IPOB's continous march and growth shows that it is committed to breaking away from Nigeria, and according to the group's spokesperson, Abul-Azeez Suleiman, the northern youth were concerned by IPOB’s recent threats. 

“We became concerned that Kanu has finally crossed the boundaries of Nigerian laws and has blatantly breached international laws that specifically frown at the use of terror to achieve a goal”.

However, the group commended Acting President Yemi Osinbajo for adhering to the advice in its letter in which it pointed out the necessity of urgent action to curtail Mr. Kanu and his IPOB’s activities. 

“Commendably, the Acting President initiated series of talks with regional leaders and made genuine moves towards ensuring lasting peace and stability,” the group said.

“We sincerely commend the efforts of the Acting President and those regional leaders who cooperated with him in dousing tension with the aim of creating a conducive environment for meaningful discussions. 

“However, notwithstanding all these efforts by the Acting President and responsible national and regional leaders, Kanu and IPOB remain undaunted and even intensified their violent divisive campaign which is the main bone of contention.

The peak of the insolence came when Kanu publicly announced that he would order former President Olusegun Obasanjo and his entire family killed,” the group said.

A 14-year-old boy, who was on his way to school, was crushed to death by a fast moving vehicle while being pursued by a masquerader, aka okorosha, at Ogbaku, Imo State. In a bid to scare the boy some more after he took off upon sighting him, the masquerader chased him till he ran into the path of the vehicle on the Onitsha-Owerri Road.

According to eyewitnesses, after the accident had occurred, the masquerader was said to have mixed with other masqueraders, leaving the boy in a pool of blood.

An eyewitness, Mr. Linus Iwuji who spoke to the Punch correspondent,  blamed the community leaders for allowing the masqueraders to roam freely on busy roads rather than restricting them to the village square.



“I blame the community leaders for allowing the masqueraders to walk about chasing people. They and their guides even rob and rape women at late hours,” Iwuji said.

Confirming the incident, Imo State Police PRO, Andrew Enwerem revealed that the police were investigating the incident.

Most of the donation (about $2.4 billion) was placed in the hands of the richest man on the planet, Bill Gates. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, run by the Microsoft cofounder and his wife, focuses on causes like ending world poverty, improving U.S. schools and combating infectious diseases like HIV, polio and malaria.



Buffett also gave hundreds of millions to four charities connected to close family members: the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, the charity named for his late wife that focuses on family planning programs and college scholarships, plus each of his three children’s foundations — the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, the Sherwood Foundation and the NoVo Foundation — which are run by Howard, Susan and Peter Buffett, respectively.

Governor Ben Ayade's Special Adviser on Youths Affairs and Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s son-in-law, Prince Goodwill Edward, was reportedly shot by unknown gunmen in his State Housing Estate residence in Calabar.

Though the severity of the injury Edward who got married Jonathan’s daughter in a very lavish and publicised wedding in 2014 sustained in the attack cannot be ascertained, however it was gathered that he's receiving treatment at an undisclosed medical facility in Calabar.



Speaking on the incident when contacted by Punchng, Cross River state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hafiz Inuwa, said the matter had yet to be reported officially to the police.



He said from records, it was not the first time that Edward had been attacked. Inuwa said;

 “They attempted him. This was the third or fourth time that this thing is happening.



Do you know that as at now I’m talking to you there is no official report about it? We are not going to wait until the matter is reported. We are the police we know our responsibility.



Even if they have a reason for not reporting which we are not going to sit down until the matter is reported, we have the responsibility to investigate and by the grace of God we will go after those responsible.”

According to the top Nigerian Producer who just concluded a job with American superstar, Jason Derulo, disclosed that playing music in church then was his escape.

In a chat with Saturday Beats, he hinted that he was born into abject poverty and life as a child in Ajegunle was like sleeping in thorns.

“Growing up in Ajegunle was an experience for me because I was raised in abject poverty. The only thing that gave me joy was music especially because I was born in a white garment church. Playing music in church gave me hope. At a point in my life, I had to hawk; I sold ‘pure water’, tin tomato and also tissue paper, that is just to mention a few. At a time, I had to work as a houseboy just to survive and I did that for about two years.

Then I complained to my father that I did not like the job and that I wanted to come back home. When I got back home, I began to play the piano. That’s when I began to produce music. Alterplate Boss, Harrysong, has reacted to the court injunction his ex-label mate, Kcee got against him. Harrysong who has been arrested and later released after peace was reportedly brokered between the two artistes, has been dragged to court again, alongside his ex-manager Soso Sobrekon in the Kcee's lawsuit of 'enforcing his fundamental human rights'.

A 19-year-old Nigerian girl, Cynthia Anurika Uzochukwu, who hoped to become a doctor after scoring 233 in JAMB, reportedly died on June 15th, and according to some of her friends who wrote tributes to her on social media, she suffered from Malaria and Typhoid before her death.

The deceased’s brother, Uzochukwu Pascal, who her ambition to become a medical doctor wrote;

“My sis Cynthia Uzochukwu make her jamb n wen she was alive she told me brother I will become a doctor..to treat mum n my siblings…I laugh at her n she say brother u will see it…now am seeing dat u re really a doctor because u re on step u front….am always proud of u,I will always love u Dr Cynthia Anurika Uzochukwu” he captioned a photo of her JAMB result.

Cynthia’s last Facebook post reads;

“I thank God for my life. Some people did not make it last night but I did. God you are awesome. Happy Sunday Pals”.

Dr Tonia Kandiero, African Development Bank (AfDB) Director-General for Southern Africa,  has died after collapsing in her office in Pretoria, South Africa. 

Kandiero had worked for SA Treasury, first as director of trade and macroeconomic policy, and later as director for global development policy and international economics, before joining the bank and taking up the post in 2016  and tasked with development and business delivery in the region.

Arrangements are currently being made to repatriate the body of the lady who studied at Morehead State University and Howard University in the US, with a PhD in economics, back to her country, Malawi for burial.

Confirming the incident, AfDB Malawi’s Benson Nkhoma, disclosed that AfDB was still investigating the cause of death, but she had “complained of health issues” prior to her collapse on Wednesday night, June 28.

In an interview on ‘The Adwen’ show on e.TV Ghana, Ghanaian musician Wanlov, revealed that staying a week without sex is a ‘No No’ for him. He went further to disclose that when he’s got no girl to have sex with, he falls back to masturbation, which he does twice a week to get rid of the sperm in him so it won’t get spoilt.

Senator Florence Ita-Giwa  who claimed the Governor of Cross River State, Ben Ayade, is after her life for exposing the diversion of relief materials meant for Internally Displaced Persons in Dayspring Island, Bakassi, has disclosed the Governor of the State, reportedly sent his aides to her Calabar residence while she was out of the country to forcefully collect the Toyota Prado jeep he gifted her last year.

This is coming after the Senator led a team of security operatives on June 3, to recover some relief materials sent by the National Commission for Refugees to the displaced persons of Atai-Ema in Bakassi, whose houses were burnt in April 2017, but was kept in a private residence in Calabar.

According to DailyPost, a letter made available newsmen after Ita-Giwa's kinsmen staged a protest in Akpabuyo over attempts to tarnish her image, revealed that the Director of Administration, Governor’s Office, David Edem, had, on June 9, requested for the return of the vehicle.

She said, “They stormed these premises in my absence to remove the car the governor gave to me. They removed the Prado Jeep. Even if they had wanted the car, they should have written to me or waited for me to come back. But they stormed the premises in my absence and collected the car. What has car got to do with the missing relief materials?”

The letter read in part: “With compliments and best wishes from the office of the governor, I most respectfully request you to please return the black Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Jeep officially allocated to you by this office on September 6, 2016.

“The vehicle with chassis number JTEBX9F…71, is required to boost our depleted fleet and deepen our service delivery. Any inconvenience caused by this request is regretted, while thanking you for your understanding.”

Also, on June 15, the Transport Officer in the Governor’s Office, Bisong Egbe, acknowledged in a handwritten note that the vehicle had been received in good condition.

It read: “I acknowledge receipt of vehicle, a Prado Jeep returned by Senator Ita-Giwa. The vehicle is in good and working condition.”

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Christian Ita, while reacting to the allegation said, “We won’t join issues with her.”

Nigerian Gay man, Kenny Bradmuse has taken to Facebook to reveal that his niece who is a student of Yabatech, was ejected from Deeper Life church premises, because she doesn't worship with them, but with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

According to him, what led to this was that Yabatech is currently renovating their hostels and students have been looking for temporary places to stay.

Utibe, the Akwa Ibom boy whose 'cover' of Davido's hit single 'IF' caught the singer's attention and an 'OBO got you for life' tweet, has lost his mum.

It was gathered that the Utibe who has got two younger sisters is now an orphan, as his mum who has been sick for a long time has been snatched by the cold hands of death.

Ebonyi State's first lady, Mrs Rachael Umahi has called for the arrest of a female police officer, Joy Okoshi for reportedly pouring hot water on her 15-year-old househelp identified as Chinyere Igwe in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital, after officials from her office and the State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development rescued the girl from the policewoman's home.

It was gathered that a hot pot of soup was emptied on Chinyere's body, for not following her 'madam's' instruction, before she also poured hot water on the poor girl.

Chinyere who spoke to newsmen, said she has been subjected to abuses from the woman for the past two years. Here's what she said;

“I failed to follow her instruction and in anger, she came out and carried the pot of soup together with the egusi (melon) and threw at me and it landed on my back. She also carried iron and hit me on my body and ordered me to bend down and raise my leg up but I refused because my back was paining me seriously. She locked me up in a room while she went to boil water to pour on me. I pleaded with her to have mercy on me but she went inside and brought tear gas, then I started crying when she rushed to get hot water and poured on me.

“Only my mother is alive and I have been living with my madam for over two years now. This is as a result of my father’s death coupled with my mother’s financial handicap.

"Her husband also beat me up, but he was not aware that I had such injury because it was in the night. He later apologised and asked his wife to use honey to treat my back" she said.

Chief Press Secretary to the governor’s wife, Donatus Owo in a statement last Saturday said the victim is receiving treatment.
“The matter has been reported to the police while the victim was taken to Police Clinic for medical treatment,’’ she said.
