he is not richer than BransonEven if he is, who gives a rats a**rse!. He's got this desperate urge to be condescending to his peers - first it was Dangote, then Otedola, now Branson. Soon he'll shift focus to Warren Buffet and Bill Gates! Anyway, one can expect no more from educated illiterates with more money than sense. |
@ JoshO - study begins for me tomorrow, i downloaded the scweser, but they are very heavy oh!so i cant upload and send to u. C_jay put up the link on this thread, its www.cfaprogram.ru. its in russian i think but u should be able to manouver the siteThanks Tolu - Downloaded all L2 10 material now. Next, to figure out where to start from, |
This man epitomizes the greed and contempt-for-the-people that's prevalent within our political class. I detest IBB with every inch of me, but would rather see him in power than this greedy, irrating, corrupt and desperate vermin. Na by force? God forbid!! |
if it has been alleged and provenIt's been alleged. Not proven. Until it is proven, then efcc's clandestine actions is harassment and infringes her fundamental human rights Many folks lose money during the stock market crash, many of em are old and retired, only feeding off on capital gains that stock markets provided, someone ought to take the blame for all the money lossesShe has a defence here, that she was not responsible for the global financial crisis. She, together with heads of other institutions like the SEC, CBN and Finance ministry - may have failed in the discharge of their oversight functions. That does not constitute a criminal offence. the crash was largely due to financial misappropriation carried out within the NSE to which Mrs Onyiuke was privy to, and also benefited fromThis is mere allegations for now. While they gather evidence, EFCC should pursue those where there is a preponderance of evidence - IBB, Atiku, Kalu, Odilli, Bankole etc. EFCC has become increasingly cowardly in their pursuit of high profile corporate titans with uncustomary zeal, those with no political constituencies to fight their corners. Let them prove they are serious (as they did under Ribadu) and confront the rogues responsible for despoiling of our nation. Politicians! Past and Present. They have all the evidence they need to do that!! However, I fully support the wide-ranging investigations into NSE accounts. She should be held to account for any malpractice discovered to have been perpertuated under her watch, for which she had knowledge of. If she is found cupable of perpertruating fraud herself, then I say she deserves significant jail time. |
They leave all those thieving governors and senators, past and present, and instead focus on people who, despite their short-comings, made a net positive difference. How often did this Farida woman harass Ibori when he was here? Where is Orji Kalu? Nonsense. |
Can anyone in possession of Schewser L2 material PLEASE send to moi - goodlife101@hotmai.co.uk ? Tolu have you perused the L2 Schewser material yet? What you think? Please forwrd to me like you did back in our L1 days - Thanks. |
Whoever wants to write this shd take NOTHING for granted these guys mean businessWise move man! Would definitely recommend that approach. Started preparations for the L1 less than 2 months to the exams, making it quite daunting for me. Was forced to skip whole sections (Quants, derivatives, parts of FSA) as a result. Failed quants < 50% , but managed to score > 70% in derivatives and FSA. This was a risky strategy, and though it worked for me, could have gone either way really. I assumed I would rely on my on-the-job experience and Finance MBA knowldege, but honestly, as someone has already noted here, the overall advantage derived from these can be minimal. Even though a rigourous Finance MBA programme provided a useful baseline for me to build on, the knowledge fell far short of the depth the of the CFA curriculum , Early, steadfast prepartion is key, and should provide you with a solid enough understanding of subject matter fundamentals, required to tackle difficult / tricky questions under pressure.! As for my L2 preparations, I plan to kick this off in Oct, starting with 2010 schweser materials. Will not take anything for granted here as I hear that one is a different beast! |
Anyone know what the prospects are for CFA charter holders in Nigeria? How valuable is part qualification (e.g L3 Candidate) ? I sat L1 primary to deepen my knowledge of front office products (and better understand what my research analysts do), but curious to find out state of play in Nigeria as I'm now considering going the whole nine yards. Funny how a little success helps to concentrate minds ![]() |
God be praised. I passed my L1. Thanks for all the support, materials from ya'll. Much appreciated. Thanks what were pass rates for level one. Level two pass rates came in at 39 percentC_JAY, sry to here you didn't make it this time. It is well. What level did you sit? L1 pass rate was 42% |
This is a very good move. Football needs complete over-haul, and only drastic, transformational change - root and branch - will do! Well done Mr President. We recognize that good leadership demands actions strong and courages as this , |
He will end up in the UK. No doubt. For now, EFCC should stop showcasing their incompetence, spare us the embarassment. What's important now, is the complete destruction of Ibori's political structures in Delta state - remove Uduaghan, legislators, State PDP chairman and many legislatures, which extensive political reforms can help achieve. The crook will be rendered impotent (literally) faster than Shanghai''s Maglev |
JoshO - You are foolish and ignorant to ignore the hard work of some Nigerians in abroad. You belittle their achievements as “near-ZERO arbitrage.” You know quite well that corruption and “Dishonesty is the prevailing franchise and integrity an extremely rare currency in Nigeria.”Mr job hunter, don't you think the insults are unnecessary and childish? I'm tempted to dig into you but won't as that would be beneath me. I realize though, that you're morally challenged - a poor product of a failing social and educational system. . You have demonstrated a lack of comprehension and an incapacity for deductive reasoning at any depth. So I'll simply let you be. You want them to “set their expectations low and be prepared to SWEAT buckets loads and expect a rude cultural shock as habits in Nigeria will be alien to them…”Ok, do this research - find a number of people who have relocated to Nigeria after living / working in the West for considerable periods. Ask if their re-assimilation into the Nigerian culture / ethic was seamless. By your own reasoning, because we made sacrifices many years back (probarbly decades ago), we will now land on a platter of gold bars! No need to break a sweat! You need to elevate your thinking dude. Reason of this kind is clearly without basis and reflects your extreme poverty of mind!. You are silly to think that some of these guys did not sweat bucket loads while in Nigeria before their mother luck smiled on them and they escaped the hardship in Nigeria. Here we go again, the response of choice for the intellectually lazy, mentally frail and educationally unsound mind. Find out why so many people who ealier relocated to Nigeria packed up and left after a few years. May help you put my "Managing Expectations" comment into perspective, mr job hunter. In any case, it's important you read comments carefully, descern and reflect before engaging those fingers - before brain. People like you make Nigeria what it is today – Stay and enjoy it - fool.Mr job hunter, if you took time to check my profile, you'd have sensed I'm not based in Nigeria. However tempting it may be, I will not put up my credentials here for you to marvel at even though I realize it may be of inmense inspirational value to you. Puting it simply, I'm at a place that you'll likely find difficult to comprehend. I'll simply leave you to crawl back into the dark hole from which you emerged for some quiet introspection. Nigeria is One of the most corrupt nations in the universe. There are funds yet no infrastructure: jobs, water, electricity, unpaid salaries, etc.And your point being? Can't see any direct relevance to my comments - but hey - it's mr intellectually constrained here - so carry on. Hey, I live here in Ninja and three years after my NYSC – I’m still unemployed and you will want me to stay in Nigeria if I have the choice to travel out and live a quality life that God intends for every Nigerian.I see the reason behind your bitterness, and must say I commiserate with you. Can't be easy being unemployed in a place like Nigeria for so long. But wait a minute! You've been unemployed for 3 years but somehow think the streets are paved with gold for returning Nigerians? They can expect pure gold on their return because they broke sweat before leaving Nigeria?. Dude, get real. I won't even respond to this droddle. No point, as basic comprehension is beyond your intellectual grade, However, I'll like to comment on the point you made about traveling abroad. Please note that at no point did I suggest you, mr job hunter, should remain in Nigeria. That you failed to understand anything in my post is now beyond doubt. As a matter of fact, if you're finding visas to a Western country hard to come by as your post suggests, I strongly implore you to try Afganistan, Iraq, or even Sudan. Visas to those countries may be considerably easier to obtain. I'll then keenly anticipate your return in a few years to streets paved with gold and opportunities lined up for special you - the returning diasporian - without the need to break a single sweat! |
There's this thing I sense with Nigerians looking to relocate, or have tried it at some point. Passive arrogance, ignorance or both. Best schools in US, top 25 this and that. Listen folks - I'll offer this advice for free - you'll find you have near-ZERO arbitrage i.e. very little advantage in Nigeria. Whatever talent you possess is likely to already exist in abundance - or will simply have very little real local value otherwise. Set your expectations low, while hoping for the best. Be prepared to SWEAT bucket loads and expect a rude 'cultural shock' as habits in Nigeria will be alien if you've been away for a while. Make sure you have sufficient savings to meet your responsibilities @ home and abroad (to cover an approximate period of 1 year with no earnings). And for those looking to setup ventures, avoid going stright into business or you stand a 95.6% of getting burnt!. Dishonesty is the prevailing franchise and integrity an extremely rare currency in Nigeria. This may not be directly relevant to @poster, but just thought it'll help with expectation setting. |
Seconded, OBJ by far the best President Nigeria ever hard. Despite his shortcomings, he took his responsibilities very seriously. |
What you guys yapping about Sanusi not being educated and what not, The dude has a Masters degree in Islamic studies from Sudan! He's adequately equipped for job at hand. Shikenna. |
This can't be true. It can't be - It's "political persecution" because he didn't support the winning party in the recent elections It's racism because he's non-white OR It's selective persecution - afterall there are "bigger" criminals in the UK. Yes, has to be. Afterall, this is how our home grown criminals, rapist and thieves in high places have institutionalized the act of mis-direction in Nigeria. Let him tell that to the judge in the UK!! |
Yes, been pondering this. Will be the best decision. Curruption will go into Exhile (IBB, Ibori, Atiku etc). The establishment will fight any such move with their last drop of blood. |
He was immediately locked up for battery and was ordered not to be released even as my mom was moved to one of my big brother's house in another part of Enugu.Bros, this action's a little harsh in my opinion. Yes, your father's behaviour's inexcusable and must be condemed in very strong terms. Domestic violence should never be tolerated. But locking him up, depriving him on an ongoing basis may be hard to justify. It's likely that he now recognizes the errors of his ways. Bring him close, pursue and promote forgiveness / togetherness between both of them. After all said and done, we need to honour our parents the best we can. |
Found CFA L1 weights - http://www.cfainstitute.org/cfaprogram/courseofstudy/Pages/topic_area_weights.aspx |
Anyone know the weights for each section in the L1 exams?. I now realise there's hardly sufficient time to copy all the topics. (Unless I'm reading material like a Robert Ludlum novel). Therefore, I need to concentrate my effort now! ![]() |
Those who fail to see the persecution of ElRufai and Ribadu as politically motivated, are the very reason why Nigeria remains a backward entity. Waziri was simply acting out a script to preserve her power and wealth, |

Tolulop001 et al, Can you please send me book 5 of CFA Level 1? I have book 1 - 4, but no 5 - goodlife101@hotmail.co.uk Thanks in advance. ![]() |
Thanks o. We need all the prayers. Only started preparing just over 1 month ago! Just picked up Corp Fin this morning. So long way to go still. Looks ok so far. Hope to sit mine in LDN. |
Hilarious. Why didn't Waziri Farida do all this before now i.e. when Yar was in power ? She should be sacked for woeful derelection of duty for neary 4 years. |
Meanwhile, the Majority is not always the Best. . .Na wah! |
Can't think of a single appointment made by Yar'adua that was based on competence! This man was used, bullied by the governors into towing the line. He was only 'obeying orders' ![]() |
@Tolulop001, I'm still on Session 9. Yet to cover the rest of the material (including the allmighty Corp Finance), let alone review questions. So comparatively, you are doing very very well. |
What an idiot! |
Let him ready another $5 million to bribe the next judge. Then the next. Then the next. Until he runs out of money - monies he misappropriated and batantly stole from the people of Delta state. The delta state assembly members where ALL appointed and approved by Ibori and his sidekick Uduaghan. They are all thieves and lack credibility. |
At first, I thought "here they go again". But the more I watched it, the more moving and engaging I found it, free of the typical stereotyping or innuendo. I find most of the characters extraodinarily chipper and resourceful. That they eke out a living in those circumstances, yet display such sincerity and clarity of purpose was intriguing in itself. Such an irony of life - the disenchantment and misery of many wealthy (especially the criminally wealthy such as Ibori, IBB, Atiku) in Nigeria, compared to the satisfaction and sence of fulfillment of Joseph and slender. Who is really worse off? |
Why don't we exhume Lawrence Anini or that Osunbor fella and make them joint President? Or better still, James Ibori for life President. What you say? |
- Thanks.
