kalu was arrested, questioned and he wasn't killed ibori went through the same thingYou are comparing Kalu and Ibori to Ribadu? Do you understand the political clout these guys wield? They had nothing to fear. They are extremely wealthy and powerful - politically and economically. They know they will NEVER face justice with the likes of Yar in power! Ribadu, on the other hand, can not boast of anywhere near that level of influence. In fact, he'll have the likes of IBB, Ibori, Kalu and virtually all the serving and past governors, past 419 kingpins, Ex IG's of police, Yar queuing up to take shots at him. And you want him to return? When Ibori was held in detention temporary, his visitors read like a roll call of the who is who in Nigeria. Governance in Delta State was suspended to allow ALL the comissioners and functionaries to pay him a visit in Kaduna! Please when making comments, lets be objective and understand the system under which Nigeria operate! Nigeria is not Britain or America! |
Ribadu must come forward and make up proud, till then he's nothing but another 419You must realise that this Rule of law thing is just a charade aimed at protecting a few powerful goons I'd sooner see Yar'Adua DIE in office than Ribadu being persecuted. He's done way too much for Nigeria to be subjected to this nonesence. The tens of thousands of inmates awaiting trial in Nigerian prisons, , who fights for them? Definitely not the Attorney General. He's way to busy dealing with high profile cases and protection of the sacred cows in Nigeria. Political asylum is there for people who are being persecuted under whatever disguise!. Ribadu should remain where he is because what's happening is simply payback. |
All the charges brought against this guy have been consistent for almost a year. The more I read peoples view on Ribadu, the more shocked I get. Unbelievable! This is witchhunt. Fullstop. Powerfull forces at work. To think of the sacrifices Ribadu made and what could have been had he been 1% as greedy as Ibori! And someone comes here to quote the law as though the Nigerian system was as transparent and free as America's or Britain, How many people, including politicians declare assets accurately, ? The is simply aware that he'll be locked up and forgotten in Kuje if he sets foot in Nigeria, and justifiably so. If the systgem sets out to get you, IT WILL. Justice Constance Mommoh is just a pawn in a high stakes game. He'll be so rubished if he returns, that even his most loyal supporters will start having doubts about him. Power of manipulation that's rife in Nigeria. If you subject Yar'Ardua, the AG, IG's, Ministers to any level of scrutuny, you'll find they have much more to hide, ! I'm truely sick of our country! This is why people will ALWAYS compromise and play along rather than stand up for the common good in Nigeria. |
Ribadu's plight only confirms one thing. In Nigeria, when you're in power, just lap it up, indulge yourself and everyone around you and make a killing in the process. Who cares about the system working. No one will appreciate it in the end (at best they'll just pay lip service and you'd sooner be forgotten). If he'd played along with the likes of Ibori, Odilli etc, he'd probarbly have been made IG of police with billions stashed away in foreign bank accounts. Being decent, or even half decent in Nigeria gets you nowhere fast!. I have certainly learnt a lot from his experience and will conduct myself "appropriately" if ever I'm given the opportunity to "serve" |
My whole point is that YAR A'LIAR has spent 2 years out of a 4 year term and has NOT achieve nothingDepends on how you look at things. In the minds of the band of thieves that sorround him, one major accomplishment is the carefully ochestrated and effectively executed "dismantling" of the EFCC. And the rehabilitation of criminals like Ibori, Odilli, Alams, Igbinedion etc, That a man like Ribadu is on exile while the likes of these crooks flourish in Nigeria speaks volumes of the system we have in Nigeria. The sad thing is that this trend will never cease, until the people put their tribal differences aside and revolt for the common good. With all the extremely capable, educated people in Nigeria, we end up with Yar'Adua!! Na Wah. |
I passionately, very pasionately, hate our political leaders! ![]() |
Did El Rufai get anything right while in office? All we get to hear about is Nitel, Ajaokuta and Flour Mills. Weren't there over 50 coys privatised under his watch. Ocean and Oil, for example? How have they all faired? Last time I looked, he did a really good job in Abuja and have laid the foundation for further development of the master plan. Or is the issue of allocating land to family members, friends going to be his legacy? I advise you don't base your opinions entirely on the Nigerian press and agrieved politicians. El is not perfect, far from it. But I believe he has made positive contribution to development of FCT in particular, and that in Nigeria with it's very low standard of leadership, is a pass mark for me. List all the past governors and FCT ministers and tell me what positive contribution they made! PS - You can't blame anyone for supporting Yar into office. At the time it seemed like a good idea given the complex political landscape and to stop crooks from becoming president. No doubt he's been an unqualified failure though. |
Leave El Rufai alone, and stop basing ur judgement on the mostly prejudiced Nigerian press. I have a lot more respect for el rufai that ALL the goons making public, derogatory comments about him. He and Ribadu are simply victims of payback, Nigerian style. Afterall, here's a nation where fraudstars and ex-cons are honoured and even become senior special advisers at large to sitting presidents! |
Which will carry more weight for a senior role in banking - CFA or MBA (finance from a reputable UK university) ? |
@viewlekan Why is your entire post commented? Olodo. What an incoherent rabble of an outburst. I suppose it's no more than can be expected from you! . Somehow, I'm starting to think your problem may be illiteracy. If that's the case, maybe I can help close that knowledge gap. On the other hand, if it's something of a psychiatric nature, then I'm afraid I'm not qualified to assist. However, I retract all my previous responses to your rants and suggest you seek help elsewhere! Dunce. |
The fact that he's a "celebrity" doesn't make him elightened!! If he wasn't a musician, he'll most likely have ended up as a tout. Why would anyone expect a different outcome from such a dog? |
if Fashola likes, he should borrow all the money in the world. He's putting it to good use = increased productivity = increased wealth. The richest country in the world is also the most indebted ditto USA. |
Print moneyThe first option, raising taxes, bonds is already in operation. Most of Lagos state's debt I believe is bond denominated. However, printing money, aka quantitative easing will be a disaster for the Nigerian economy, and should not even be contemplated. Firstly, the contemplation of it alone may send inflation of the hook. Secondly, it will damage confidence in our economy and currency, the result being a rapid, dis-proportional depreciation of the naira. It may become imposible to contain for a fragile, mono-economy like ours. If the real sector in Nigeria was developed, and production / output high, then it'd be a different matter. |
Internship?? Wow, she should be given a number of chieftaincy titles and awarded the GCON for completion. So she will push some fies around, and may occassionally catch a glimps of the American president!!. What an achievement for a Nigerian! ![]() |
What's also illogial, is to compare Nigeria FTZ to Dubai's, or anywhere else for that matter. Nigeria is very close to being a failed state. Until we get rid of the morons we have in power, at all levels, we are doomed. And I agree that the most important part of any venture is a business plan. Here you assess your risks and determine viability of the business interest. Nigeria is such a high risk place to invest, that even contracts signed by goverments may not only be disregarded, but can be cancelled at any time by successive goverments. Power for the sake of it. Yaradua has only confirmed that. Policy continuity is non existent. Policy summersault is constant. Leadership? What leadership?. Power generation? That one is that another avenue for monumental fraud. What a waste ![]() |
circumstances they will face when (if) they eventually assume dutyI'm not an expert on the Nigerian armed forces, but if the evidence on display is to be considered - where officers parade massive pot bellies with the suspicion that many join for possible future political opportunities (though I hear the army is now more "professional" , then this exercise may have been the most exerting physical hurdle they were likely to ever face.Sad news though. |
unintelligent some people sound on this forumWhen I read this, I couldn't help laughing. You must be proud of yourself now after that rabble? If anything, you've confirmed you're daft indeed! . Bigbois simply stated that putting comments like that in context always makes it clearer. I know of many people that've been denied important positions simply because someone concluded they were "too/very young" or should "wait for your time", even at the age of 37!Of all the posts on this subject, I think you've offered the shallowest, weakest agument, having not made any sensible contibution . In fact, you have goofed in your abhorent ignorance. And yes, the reference often made to Barack Obama being a young man, is mainly made in the context of the presidents before him, who where often much older! . If you're as intelligent as you want us to believe you are (though I'm convinced you aren't anyway ), take a moment to reflect on your argument before engaging those fat fingers before that shallow brain. That way, you may just pass for an intelligent kid. ![]() |
If this article is true, then this is the only positive decision Yar has made, he'll have shown he can defy those normadic morons he's sorrounded himself with! ![]() |
,@josho pray to lose a child at 35Wetin this get to do with anything? I no want to loose anybody, irrespective of the age, slowpoke! 36 there was a stir in the press why do you think that was?(dumbass)From your contribution I can see you're retarded!. @Bigbois has a point and articulated his view and moved on, so did @poster. You still dey there dey battle your mental retardation. FYI 35 is much nearer to middle age than you think. Young man, yes. Very very young, child, infant, NO. Na true bigbois talk, na only naija people like you go dey call papa pickin! If you haven't reached 50 in naija, you are still a baby, too young, too inexperienced, too this and that, when 40 na the average age of directors for some of the biggest companies in the world. Idiot. |
Bros, wetin my 16 yr old broda come be? Micro young? ![]() |
I'll advice you to do the following - Avoid refined sugar - Refined sugar is a killer. Try eatng a cube of sugar and then have a llong conversation 20 mins after. You'll notice your stutter gets worse due to tension in your vocal cords. Avoid refined sugar for 1 week and see the results. Drink as much warm/hot water as you can, especially before giving a speech. You'll notice mre flient speech throughout the day. Warm water loosens your vocal cord. Also avoid coffee. Confidence plays a major part in stutteing, so it's important you start-your speech / sentences well. This way, you build the confidence required to complete the rest of your statements fluently. Take a deep breath before you begin, one word at a time. When you speak, remember to speak slowly. Some of the best speakers in the world are unrushed but slow and deliberate. Think of Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton etc, Take your time and get into the habit. You'll be a much better speaker. Try all of these, and you'll be amazed at the result! |
MrCrackles or whatever you call yourself - No toasting and no offtopics please!Define "toasting" you bloody slowpoke! Onye alah! I see from your posts there's a disjoint between your fingers and your brain ![]() And if it's offtopic nko? Go on, do your worst! ![]() |
His wife kill him, nah, she's not the one after his life. I know who is. Na the person wey put that "heavy"delegate badge round him neck to break the man into two half!. Haba! Dan buru uba! Dem no see small size one? |
@Surface, Just saw your location and realized we live in the exact same part of London. I'm actually sat in a cafe in High Barnet (high street) sending this response. Good to see a Nairalander in my precinth ![]() |
Ok, I await your next post, where hopefully, the gaps will be addressed. |
Guys, you need to elaborate a lot more, To many gaps / missing information. A cursurary look at your investment proposal would suggest the following - -- 60% to investors seems quite high in the current market conditions, not to mention other constraints. To be believable, you've got to provide a lot more detail to descerning investors -- Who are the promoters of this venture? What's their background? Why should we believe management in place can realize the returns (net) you've suggested? -- Every business has risks. Putting zero risk in your proposal, at best, suggests you're both unreaslistic and ill-prepared for whatever venture you're undertaking. -- How have you valued your proprietary trading model at $1M? That figure seems a little far fetched to me. Would be good to see data that supports this assumption. Alternatively, I'm happy to do my own valuation of this intellectual capital. -- You mention "legal" protection? Unfortunately, the legal frameworks in Nigeria as far as protection for small investors go is still a work in progress. You'll need to provide specific and verifiable guarantees, such as a lien on the assets of the company etc, -- You seem too diversified for a start-up company. While this diversification may improve your overall risk exposure, it may portray you as a master of none. Reminds me of the barbing saloon that doubles as a bookshop and tomato stand all in one! -- How much capital are you investing yourselves? What is the expected FY turnover of the company? -- What is this "international" business you allude to|? While I'm not suggesting your aim is to impress impress prospective investors ( ) with the statement, it's a little ordious. How do you intend to market, exploit these markets? Are you aware the where in the lifecycle the industry you're getting into is in these countries. I can ttellyou for free that most are past their growth phase, and are maturing. Seems a little ambitious to expect such high returns in these markets?-- How will the initial capital be deployed? -- Have you carried out a competitive business analysis / industry analysis to determine who your main competitors are and where your offering fits in the market place? -- How about a market analysis / market research? What's the projected market (figures please) for your market. -- What will the initial capital be used for? -- What is the exit strategy for investors? Say I'm not happy with the way things are going (like I suspect a ponzi setup) in a few months and decide to exit, what are my options here? , and the list goes on. . I do venture capital / enterpreneurral finance work and know how rigourous the process should be for you to be taken seriously. These things should stand up to scrutuny, if you're serious about getting sophisticated investors (unless off course your target is the money miss road or "mugus" in Nigeria) JoshO Lord Mayor of the Square Mile ![]() -- |
Cut the man some slack. He's a gifted motivational speaker and has helped turn many lives around in the name of God. I personally will not give. However, most people who give are adults and more than capable of making their own decisions. |
Guys cool down. No be una dey criticise obasanjo and Ribadu as being selective back then? Na this efcc fit nigeria. Conniving. Distractive and innefective. Their full time job now is to pursue those officers that dared the powerfull beasts in our society. The era has come were we need trained assassins and marksmen to start taking out past and present leaders. One high powered rifle, one bullet to the head, starting with that Dim wit of a SAN thats the AG. This is the only action that'll make us all sit-up and turn this rudderless tanker that is Nigeria! |
The thing is that we are just too tolerant as a people. Let all these leaders perish on the same roads they have negleted and willfully turned into death traps. If it were leaders like Fashola this happened to, I'll be the first on my knees fasting and praying for him! How many times have any of you wished that armed robbers are not killed by popo, or even wish them quick recovery when they are shot? Well, I must tell you I have more sympathy for most of those robbers than I do for the likes of Turaki and Ibori! Let them all drop like flies, including that Yar of a goat! Damnit! ![]() |
