If the status quo persists, , there'll be a COUP in the next month. Please take note of this comment. The boys in uniform will have no worries over legitimacy. Yar's illegitimate attitude has provided sufficient grounds for this action, and the entire international community will welcome any purposeful, stabilizing change. |
*** IMPORTANT NOTICE********* When you see Yar, scrutinize him for any signs of recent plastic surgery. Carefully analyse the bridge of his nose, his vocals, skin and posture. The last few months may have been spent 'impacting' Yar's profile in someone else! |
What no. can u be reached on?Please don't forget me o! I need L1 materials like yesterday, thanks. |
@lowee231 and all out there, I plan to sit the June L1. Anyone with study notes, schweser , qbank etc much appreciated. My email is goodlife101@hotmail.co.uk |
MBA's are relevant and can certainly open doors. However, I believe it's important to have a core compentency as that gives you that extra edge. For example, if you've had many year's experience in IT, Accounting, Risk, Finance etc, gaining an MBA could be that tonic needed for accelerating your careers to senior management positions. It's no longer sufficient to sell yourself exclusively as an MBA holder, with the competition growing, it may be viewed by many as being to generic (particularly the general management MBA programmes). You'll find that nowadays many successful MBA's hold other specialist qualifications such as CFA, FRM, ACCA, SAP etc , |
Political dynamics in Nigeria make it impossible to succeed without some accommodation of the devil. That's the just the way it is. I hold that not against Soludo. What matters is what becomes of him when he achieves power. How he deploys his authority and leverages his knowledge for the betterment of the people. Getting people like him into politics is only the first step in encouraging professionals and capable people to enter politics. Let's give Soludo a chance. |
Off Topic* @analystk, how did your FRM exam go? Did you sit the full or L1? I'm thinking of sitting both L1 and L2 in May. |
This is the type of battle a respectable athorney general would take up. PROTECTING AND SERVING THE PEOPLE who pay him. Instead the man is busy hounding Ribadu and El Rufai thousands of miles away while protecting criminals like Ibori and ex governors. The only thing that baffles me in all of this is how tolerant we are, how much rubbish we are willing to take as a people. Where is the outrage? Is it beyond us too pay assassins to eliminate public officials and goons like these?. I know it's not that difficult as most of them are not as protected / secure as they think they are. It's only drastic action like this that'll convince our rulers and abusers of power that we have lost faith in the system and that enough is enough. |
I since realised the futility in commenting on the actions of our worthless, slowpoke rulers, but couldn't resist commenting on the funny comments on this thread. Naijas, we are so full of grammer. Mikelagos I hail you with this your promotion of the africa updates site, your single line questions / comments nothwitstanding . Time for talk done pass tay tay. We need to start breeding snipers and suicide bombers in Nigeria for a good cause. That is the only language that'll be understood. As for this deplorable political mess, all I can say is that drastic, violent action is imminent and inevitable. . Very very soon. |
Just stay away from them, and also live a sober lifestyle, and trust God for your safety. If their wahala is too much, you should consider leaving the countryThis is one of the main reasons I'm not keen on relocating to Nigeria. Only last week, one of my distant cousins I hardly know called to demand money, with some desperados ready to do whatever it takes, I can't guarantee their safety if I relocate to Nigeria as I'll certainly react vitiously if I'm treatened by any dead beat. Then you ask yourself what's the point in even moving. It's almost feeling like a crime to have good for nothing extended family! |
Please those asking for Yar to resign to mind themselves oo! The man wants to die in office and maybe get a state burial etc. May his wish be granted sooner than he expects. |
No point argueing with @back2back. Imagine you were the former IG of police (Balogun), Ibori, IBB, Kalu, Tinubu, Yar'Adua, Odili or one of the many criminals walking the streets of Nigeria today. Or even imagine you were a family member or direct beneficiary of their criminal enterprise. What would you wish Ribadu right now? This is a faceless forum. You can't tell how Ribadu's actions could have affected her. I don't expect many people to wish Ribadu well. Many will like to see him in Nigeria, "punished" and destroyed. Even Generals retreat when faced with a superior firepower to re-strategise and fight another day. That's a sign of good leadership. Ribadu's detractors won't be happy he's abroad, developing himself for a future role I can't wait. |
Nothing but criminal runs from the LAW of the land.Strange viewpoint. You must think you are in America or the UK where the rule of law is sacrosant, You under-estimate the ill will against this man by the powers that be, from IBB to the current president. Let him go and prepare himself for future leadership. We need him alive to fulfill the role he's destined to play in the Nigeria of tomorrow, which I can assure you is not far away. Just watch what will happen in the next 3-4 years. Mark this page. |
You guys don't get it. The cells @ efcc are all full. Even kirikiri has no more capacity. That dumb ass Farida abi na farina is busy chasing both debtors and her shadows. She's overwhelmed by the sudden upsurge in activity. Besides, her mentor Aondakaa is pre-occupied with his defence of Ibori in the UK (as his defactor personal lawyer!) Taking on Ribadu at a time like this will be too much for her to handle, particularly after Hilary Clinton's recent muted sympathy / support for him. Ribudu is sincere, and my HERO anyday. Anyone say what you like. |
Good managers take criticism like this as a call to action - to bring about change. Let's not waste our energy trying to change outsiders. It's US that need to change. 1) Weak Leadership 2) Curupt, thieving leaders can only produce thieving masses. The stats are there for all to see, no point me repeating them. Change is long over-due in our country. |
Thanks for the response guys - Found an answer to my own question on the 7City website - "CFA® vs MBA or Masters in Finance? There are many benefits of post-graduate education and it is well worth considering all available options.Whereas MBAs and Masters Degrees vary in content, the CFA charter is globally recognised as a relevant and practical qualification for those looking to further their career in investment banking and fund management. The CFA charter has become mandatory for many investment analysts and portfolio managers.Remember that the cost of completing the CFA Program is significantly less than the cost of an MBA or Masters and you can also work throughout the CFA Program. " I also stumbled upon another institution - Securities and Investment Institute. I think they do some good courses that are now gaining recognition in Nigeria. |
I have the option of going for either of this (can only choose one). Please advise in terms of relevance and opporunity for senior roles in the Nigerian context. And please doing both not an option. ![]() Background - Enterprise Risk, Technology (Bank) Thanks |
My friend, go and work! ![]() |
I've never had much support for most of the criminal elements parading the Delta as freedom fighters , but , Mend will get a lot more credibility and much broader followership if they widen the struggle to include issues with corrupt leadership and this overbearing domination of all of us by the North. If they take on our entire political system, it may be the long overdue trigger needed for a revolution. |
He went for the photo ops. Even my driver is more presentable than this man. |
He should be allowed to complete his term which was "unfairly disrupted". If I were him, I'll go to the supreme court to reclaim my mandate! ![]() |
if this nation is invited he'll have to goNot necessarily. There are more important things to occupy his time at home! Time is now when people should be doing a cost/benefit review before embarking on these expensive and fruitless journeys that bring no long/short term benefits to our country. It was even more fruitful in Obasanjo's years, because he seemed a lot more purposeful and courageous enough to sorrounded himself with brilliant people who commanded more respect and often accompanied him on these trips |
Yar' that told Bush when he visited the US last year that being there was the "best day of his life" You want to know what he's going to say this time? Probarbly tell Obama the it's the best thing that ever happened to him since meeting Bush! Then quickly make the most of the photo opportunity for posterity sake, before his stamina fails him and he passes out! I doubt any of the leaders have the slighest respect for him? Even our fellow African leaders have little regard for him. He's not worthy of that office and certainly the least engaging of all the leaders we've been cursed with so far, |
I'm looking to acquire / partner a software development company in Nigeria. I hear there's a preference for applications developed abroad, How true? Are the Nigerian software firms really thriving or just getting by? Is the market there (or is it a growth area) ? I'm already doing my research but reliable data is hard to come by so any contributions from y'all will be appreciated, |
Made OBJ look like an over-achiever. |
It's just a Nigerian thing. We're damned indisciplined. Staff and customers alike! On a recent trip to Nigeria @ Sweet Sensation, this dude jumps in front of me just as I was about to pay for my grub! Right from the back of the queue! Haba, orga, try and join the queue now?. The cashier was about to start processing his order, and that''s when I insisted he had to fall in line like everyone else. The way the slowpoke looked at me, you'd think say na me kill Michael Jackson! Eventually, he returns to his rightful position in the queue, cursing quietly and asking - "who do you think you are" and "because you come with police you think you can HARASS people anyhow!!". Curse me as you like, but join the bloody queue. Anyway, what surprised me even more was the loud silence from cashiers and other customers. In fact, another customer prefered to pacify this dude, begging him not to worry and that I was doing "over sabi" ![]() Then we're quick to moan when things don't work!. Like MJ stated in one of his song, look in the mirror y'all complaining of this and that! Change, if it ever comes to Nigeria, must be the outcome of collective effort from each and everyone of us. |
See the kine thoughts wey hardship don dey cause for Naija. Abeg no commit suicide oo! Your family still love you. |
All the so called militants should be lured in, lined up and executed. Including Asari the business mogul. The venue housing all the opportunistic, jollof loving "big men" - Yar'Adua, Ibori, governors (present and past), senators - should then be the target of a twenty-five thousand pound precision-guided missile. Let them all burn in hell. Simply put, we desperately need to get rid of this generation of goons! They are ALL our major problem and things will NEVER change with them around. |
Nobody wants this man dead. If anything, they want to show the public that he isn't what he has presented himself to be, and he clearly understands this fact.I agree with you partially. They, the powers that be, don't want him dead. Yet. They want him thoroughly humilated, in handcuffs and being dragged into a black maria on live TV. This will be their biggest satisfaction, before finally killing him. And they are willing to go to any length to actualize this, even if it means fabricating evidence and installing a Stooge (Constance Momoh) to preside. She knows this is her ticket to major league. a man making nigerians to believe a couple of months back that he is ready to die for nigeriaRibadu was willing to die for the country. Yes, but in the line of duty and not as game to a band of desperate vultures like Ibori, Odili, IBB, Kalu, Aoondaka (persecutor in chief), etc , And when people talk of protection, it makes me laugh! The kind of Protection the likes MKO, Bola Ige, Yar'Adua (senior) got? |
Make una softly on the guy na, ! He just dey state he own opinion. @Poster - Can't say I know this guy, his oratorial ability or what he's achieved as a Rep. However, even assuming he's as oustanding as Obama oratorically , you must understand it counts for nothing in the Nigerian System. As a matter of fact, these qualities will sooner work against you, than for you. Always remember this - In Nigeria, Mediocracy thrives! |
while his blind supporters (fools) continue to beat the hero drum behind him.I can affirm, with 99.9% confidence, that cre8tivity was a direct/indirect victim of Ribadu's effectiveness while in office. Indirectly, perhaps through family ties. This is a no brainer, and frankly, it's hard to compete with his reasoning. My advice to Ribadu - Stay away. This goverment will destroy you through the system they manipulate at will. You'll be like a carcass in the midst of desperate vultures. |
