delkuf: God. This will go a little deeper with this questn. I don't knw if I have d time. There are lot of this I. Would like to say. Let me start bby saying, d first man and adam with two impressions. Adam was not the first man God created. U can ask questn on this, and I will show u through d bible, with d help of d spirit of our heavenly father. So, God created the first man with the impression of him as a God, while God created Adam with the impression of him as a father. So,we as decendant of adam through christ, have God as a father to us
huh shocked shocked shocked

Please let us keep to the straight path and not add our own meaning to the scriptures.
Thank you.
With all due respect sir.

delkuf: and u think muslim and other religion don't use the word God. D lord Jesus said in John1vs23, whtsoever we ask the father, in is name, the father will give it to us. This connote the fact that if we want to pray for anything, we shld pray it to the father, through d name of Jesus. All this are pointing to d fact that, we as christians shldnt pray to God but our heaven father
I'm sorry, but I do not agree with what you're saying. God is our father. He is our God, and he is our father. Don't be confused.

Ephesians 1:2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Galatians1: 1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead

2 corinthians 1:2 Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

By the mouth of 2 or 3 witnessesn every word shall be established. Thank you. Keep to the middle of the road. Don't go into extremes

delkuf: 1cor8vs5 says, there are many gods. Both in heaven and here on earth. With this how can we differentiate b/w the God we christian pray, and that of d muslim. It wouldn't make sense, if we just. Pray to God, not knwing whom, which God we are praying to.

timpaker: Lets play a game,
Here is a poetry form known as:

Fibonacci

Definition

The number of syllables in each line must equal the sum of the syllables in the two previous lines. So, start with 0 and 1, add them together to get your next number, which is also 1, 2 comes next, then add 2 and 1 to get 3, and so on. Fibonnaci: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21... Poetry: 1 syllable, 1 syllable, 2 syllables, 3 syllables, 5 syllables, 8 syllables, 13 syllables, 21 syllables...

Example

Me,
You

Thankfully,
Poets café lives.
Words from our imaginations
Please draw close my like-minds who squirts poetry through their pen.
Their words might be venomous but we'd see whose ink kills the page. Let's go Fibonacci! grin

I wish you addressed where the policeman is asking frank to prove he is not a policeman. Take for instance he wore mufti, wouldn't he be insane to ask frank to prove he is not a policeman? (This is actually the core of this thread)

If the policeman brings out a gun and Id, why should I doubt him? Everybody knows what a gun and id is so it will only take a stupid person not to accept that id and gun is a prove that he is a police man even if he fake. Beside I asked him to show me a proof.

I will never b arrested if I don't believe he is not a policeman.
oga take it easy. He didn't come to arrest lb(grin). He came to warn lb. His mission AT THAT TIME was to warn lb to stop his evilways and to save him.

texanomaly: This is something I've been thinking about lately. The the question that keeps crossing my mind is this;

With all the corruption, bribery and underhanded deals I've been hearing about, is it possible to be an honest, ethical, business owner, and be successful In Nigeria?
we stand for christ ma'am. We stand with integrity. Yes. You can find light in darkness. You can find the real deal in this corrupt and perverse generation. We stand for the light in nigeria
Christianity EtcRe: The Christian Chatbox ( sticky) by Joshthefirst(m): 4:41pm On Oct 08, 2013
aManFromMars: @Josh: interesting post, but one doesn't have to be a Christian to stand up for the 'right' thing. It doesn't matter if you're religious or not, if you decide to be honest in Nigeria, you'll be derided for doing so.
Most of us here have had our own personal experiences, I'm sure.
what I am saying is that the one's you term 'religious' are not really followers of christ. Disciples. Jesus said go into the world and make disciples, not religious people.. Religious people go to the church and think they're christians, they think they're born christians. But in fact, they need the gospel. They do not live for christ. Christ changes a man I say. Makes him different. Makes him fearless in doing good. Delivers him from sin. Nigeria is a country of religious people, if they were truly christians, this country would be one of the most civilized and developed and peaceful places on earth. The reverse is the case. Corruption and unrighteousness reeks in the high and low places. This is what is happening in naija:

Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Nigeria needs the gospel of christ! Nigeria needs true christians who know God to preach and bear him witness both in their words and in their lives! To Stand up for Christ!

Tell me, are christians a minority in Nigeria?

Seriously? You have no idea what you are talking about. Does your comment in any way negate or reduce the suffering of atheists in Nigeria? I cant believe you just tol me to keep quiet about discrimination while voicing some petty christian butthurt.

The policeman brough out his ID....thats evidence.

you cannot deny what you are. A guilty sinner before God. You know within you God is. But you enjoy thinking he doesn't exist, so that in your evil works you may persist. That is the truth.

Logicboy03: Haba, take it easy. I am a human being like you.

How do you leave something that makes you and your partner happy?

Or do you think I am the devil behind this username with no feelings? I know that I might sound like some evil genius that enjoys destroying christians on nairaland but it is not so. I am just a man (or boy according to ishilove) that is passionate with his beliefs. I hurt, I bleed, I feel.......

you must be rightly asking yourself why I am here complaining on the christian chatbox. You must understand that sometimes people just need to vent at times. I just thought that I should share something that we all can learn from.

Most christians here dont know what it is to be truly discriminated for your beliefs. Trust me it hurts more than any bombs boko haram could use on christians. Imagine wondering how you are going to get married or get along with people when you must hide who you are to most of your friends. As a christian, you have decided to marry a christian spouse in a religious country where you are going to have over 40 million potential christian partners. Can you imagine what it must feel like to know that most girls would run away from you knowing what you believe in?

Sorry for ranting and thanks for your advice
I understand what you're saying lb, but you're completely wrong. Maybe its cuz you're catholic. When you look, you'll see the difference between the real deal and the religious. Yes. Religious people are not christians. For one thing, most of them think they're born christians, they have no commitment to christ. When I was in secondary school, I got a hold of God in reality. I've given this testimony before. I'm consumed with the message you see. I preach. I also lived the message. And I got discriminated against immediately. I was(and is still) a very intelligent dude because I believed God could give me an edge in academics too as I lived for him. I was insulted and backbited because I REFUSED to cheat. You can imagine me doing that in Nigeria(a military school for that matter) I was threatened and insulted and mocked. You cannot say the bolded. I lived in northern nigeria recently. Religion is still there. But in very tight places, you notice the real deal. We can't hide it. We're discriminated against and persecuted and we suffer. We don't get into schools because we're christian. Only the strong go to church. Only the strong preach in the villages. Do not flatter yourself lb. Although nigeria is religious, true christians are known for their lifestyle of living for christ, and for that they are persecuted. And they are persecuted the most by religious people with zeal. When I refused to cheat, they were surprised. They said 'guy, we go to church too' or 'guy, forget that thing. Can't you help your brother?' Things like that. Some even tried to beat me up. The bible says the true christians MUST suffer persecution. It's inevitable sir. You do not know what it means to be discriminated against for refusing to do evil. That is persecution. That's why I preach the message. God is in me. He's changed me. It's not about religion I say. It's about lifestyle. By their fruits you shall know them. You are not a christian by talking good and empty claims, you are one when you stand by christ in the face of adversity. We stand on the rock. We're spited and insulted and killed for this. But we still stand on the rock. Go and sleep logicboy. If you think you're facing discrimination now. I advise you not to accept the true message of christ.

man 1: u are irrational
I disagree with your example: here's what's really going on.

Man: I am a policeman. I like you, so I'll warn you; If you keep dealing and taking drugs, I'm gonna have to bust you and throw you in jail
Logicboy: you're a gaddem liar and freaking psycopath. Show me proof that you're a policeman
Man:I've come here plainclothed. I knew you were going to say that. Do you do drugs?
Logicboy: stop asking me stupid questions and just show me evidence.
Man: *brings out Id card and shows him*
Logicboy: you're a gaddem liar. How am I sure you're the real deal?
Man: *brings out gun and shows logicboy, also shows logicboy his walkie*
Logicboy: I still don't believe you. Anyone can own a walkie or a gun
Man: alright, you refuse this evidence, take me at my word. Let's go to the station and I'll show you my office there, and we can correct your drug addiction problem. Don't miss this oppourtunity. Or I'll have to arrest you soon. You aren't above the law.
Logicboy: you're a deluded f.ool. Get out of my house, let me enjoy my life!

Logicboy is arrested for dealing drugs the next week...or month...or year...but he's arrested anyway.
