adeomoade:@beckini89 I have used both credit card and debit card for AIMS. I used credit card for initial assessment and a debit card for AIMS exam. Put card Number and Security on the payment form.Ofcourse a credit card is always safer but a debit card works also.I found the exchange rate more favourable when you use a USD card than local currency card BTW I am not Nigerian .Check exchange rate and make your decision. |

sartorius:I am also a doctor -a pathologist. There are 2 ways of going about you can go as a Dr.-several options medical practitioner nec, specialised physician nec, physician, resident medical officer, Or you can go as a primary health organising manager, pathology collector, and other health allied proffesionals Personally chose medical laboratory scientist and waiting for visa 489 Northern territory. Also check area of need assessment. It's tough for a doctor but doable. Explore spouse as primary applicant also. 1 Like |

Bellong you are very kind and I don't take your advice for granted.I am making a decision to take 489 knowing very well it is not an ideal visa due to age and changes in Oz immigration system. I am a Doctor/ Forensic Pathologist trying to get a better life for my children . I am fully cured from the cancer as it was more than 20 years ago.But you know how hard it is for Doctors to immigrate ,.. anywhere in the world .So I want to grab the opportunity and get the Visa. Meanwhile it's night in Oz The agent will reply in the the morning by sending a screen shot on what my SS/EOI says and I will inform the house. Thanks once more Bellong looking forward to meeting you. 1 Like |

@ jayoor please pm me I am floored by this info.I am not able to see my Skillselect coz I am using a MARA Agent due to a complex medical issue(survivor of childhood cancer) I expect to have a positive skills assessment as a MLS soon since I sat AIMS exam and it was not too hard. But MLS is a flagged occupation -- may be off MLTSSL list in July. I will get outcome by mid-May .I will have 70 points 25age, 15 experience ,15 education , Partner 5, IELTS 10. The worst part I turn 40 in October. Jayoor and the whole house please advise. Thank you. |

@Kelvincal144 reading the thread from scratch is the simplest task in this migration journey. next is studying the skills lists and anzsco codes and job descriptions vis a vis your qualifications and experience is for you to enable you nominate the relevant skill/skills.Then talk to your assessors.post specific questions here and you will very helpful info.as to whether you have chances for skilled migration the answer is yes. all the best. my cents worth of advice. |

there are several situations that call for multiple eoi 1.if you have multiple skills assessment 2. if you want to apply to several states for 190/489 and the states require you chose only them if you want to do eoi for 189/190/489 simultaneously |

no you don't need to withdraw. just go ahead with a new skill assessment when you get a positive skill assessment file a new eoi. if you get an ita and you are ready to apply for visa. withdraw all the other eoi. |

authenticdmj:you will sail through even with 60 points if you have family in the territory or a job offer otherwise they tend to give everyone a 489 . Could you please share your list here for the benefit of MLS and MLT in the house.Cheers. |
Good morning Bellong, thanks for keeping vigil on us. For those who have applied to vetasses with occupations which are not completely same with what they assessed for, e.g, joslight. Did you guys just state directly that you're what you're assessing for, or it is your JD alone that described what you wanna love to be assessed for, while you maintain your real professional title in the CV that I requested the referees to focus on laboratory duties that I do.The qualifications are stated on the degree certificates.I only attached transcripts with the required subjects yr 1 to 4 and masters. Did not attach yr 5 & 6 which contain pediatric surgery medicine psychiatry etc..hope that helps.. |
I used tietz and the rest of the aims recommended text books. For med microbiology, i used a local text book and made sure i covered the listed topics. You will be fine if you cover all the topics.
Thanks Oknee. It was not an easy decision to assess as a laboratory scientist but I am glad that I did. my qualifications are bachelor of medicine and surgery and master of medicine pathology. 1 Like |

That's my understanding. all the best engineers can chip in. |
